Popular Post postofficebuddy
Platinum #174: Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I love Persona music so the dancing games are pretty much a guaranteed win for me. Although there is one absolutely trash remix in this game. You probably know which one I’m talking about if you played this, the Mass Destruction rock remix. Aside from that I really enjoyed this one and it’s a nice quick plat.
Popular Post cr1s
#575 - Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! (JP Vita) それは、心をつなぐ、とある絆の物語。 アルカナハート3 LOVEMAX!!!!!を極めた。 [Threads of Fate Bind Us Together] [Conquered the beast that is Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!!] Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 5.5/10 5 Love Max stacks down, 1 more to go! Here we go, that's where I struggle with Parace L'Sia. I knew it was bound to happen eventually. Unlike previous times, it took me 2 hours to beat her this time (my previous worst time was 30 minutes). It could've been really bad luck, but it seems like she's even more aggressive and "spammy" in the Japanese version - which wouldn't really be surprising. Not just that, but she occasionally did a certain series of attacks where she took up to 75% of Angelia's health bar in one fell swoop and blocked Angelia's Critical Hearts half the time, neither of which I recall happening in the Western stacks. That's the only change I've noticed in the Japanese version, everything else is just as I remember it. Well, at least I know what to expect in the JP PS3 stack. Regardless of how aggressive she is, Parace L'Sia shall be defeated one last time!
Popular Post RedRozeReaper
Platinum 125 - Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami ChroniclesTrophy CollectorCollect all trophies in Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles. This one was fun, I'm not the biggest fan of Demon Slayer but the game being developed by CyberConnect2 really interested me. They always have a way with crafting some of the most gorgeous cutscenes you'll see (in licensed based anime titles at least, played enough bad ones that's for sure.), the combat is pretty much what you'd expect from a team that developed games like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. Getting most of the S ranks in this game were pretty easy compared to something like Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 with its headache inducing requirements tho some of the fights gave me a lot of trouble like the special demon hunts and the end boss fights, never wanna do that again even tho I likely will for the PS4 versions plat lmao. (I wouldn't really recommend this game at full price unless you are a big fan of the series or like CC2's previous work since its shorter than all the Naruto games themselves.) Popular Post postofficebuddy
Platinum #175 Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood Fun: 9.5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Symphony is easily in my top 10 of all time and very worthy of being my 175th. It also holds up extremely well even today. The only reason this doesn’t get a 10/10 is because the collection includes Rondo of Blood which isn’t even in the same league as SOTN.
Popular Post Cojay89
Platinum #7: Dark Souls Remastered Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time: 51 hours It is an incredibly popular one but I still feel accomplished getting it anyway. Thankfully I got this after finishing Dark Souls III and Bloodborne, as the slower gameplay and easier covenant grinding made this much less of a struggle than I was expecting. Although I still hold Dark Souls III dearest as it was my first souls game, I can't deny the first game really does have the best level design of any game I've ever played. Starrk_01
Plat #199: War Theatre: Blood of Winter Free game which, in my opinion, is a rip off of Advance Wars and specifically the Fog of War style of gameplay. Super easy trophies since you can go human against human on the same controller, so the only trophy you would need to worry about is the AI battle, which there is literally nothing to worry about for that since 1) you can give yourself perks to make your attacks stronger and 2) the AI are dumb idiots who prioritize hurting you over keeping themselves alive.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#383 - Raging Loop Rise Not! Thud! Obtained all trophies. I'll just come right out and say it; this is one of the best VN's I've played in years. I was thoroughly invested in the story from start to finish. It really is amazing. The basic setup is that the main character finds their way into this remote Japanese village, at which point he becomes trapped there by a mysterious fog and is forced to participate in a game of Werewolf. The goal is to win by surviving to the end as the villagers get picked off one by one. It handles the horror aspect brilliantly, and I felt an immense amount of uneasiness not knowing what messed up happenings would occur next. The great soundtrack really helps with that, especially this track which might be the creepiest song I've ever heard in a game. There are loads of different endings you can get based on your choices, and what makes this even cooler is that, as the name suggests, there's a time loop at play as well. So if you die in one route, you jump back in the timeline and use that knowledge to progress further. It reminds me a lot of Virtue's Last Reward, which is another one of my favourite VN's. I guess I have an affinity for time loop stories. ? I'm going to remember a lot of the things that happened in this game for a long time. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's a fan of VN's.
COKTOE
Kind of an odd thread, but I can't argue with it's longevity. My 97th, and most recent platinum is: Monster Energy AMA Supercross FIM World Championship The Official Videogame. Rolls right off the tongue doesn't it? I'll just refer to it as MEAMASCFIMWCTOVG for convenience sake. So, MEAMASCFIMWCTOVG fell under the PS+ cleanup category, Figured I'd try it be because it looked easy and like it might be fun.....First thing it hits you with is an EULA. So, for the right to play, allow Milestone Media access to my digital information, so they can use drones to watch me sleep.....Not a good start. I almost bailed on principle... MEAMASCFIMWCTOVG was pretty easy. I think the 3/10 it got here could even be knocked down to a 2/10. It was sometimes frustrating, due to how collisions seem to play out against the player most of the time. I didn't find the experience of playing it bad. It was average IMO. Par for the course with any game that has "The Videogame" in it's title. I see some people here thinking it was total garbage. I don't agree, but whatever. It did crash on me 2 or 3 times though, which is always annoying. Edited October 18, 2021 by COKTOE grammar
Popular Post Redgrave
#224: Platinum Trophy - Alan Wake Remastered Since I didn't have an Xbox 360 or a PC capable of playing this, this was something that I was really glad to see that it got to go on PS4/PS5 since I had heard it was considered a classic. The only other way I experienced this was a Game Movie some time ago before the remaster got announced and what information I was given from the Control DLC. I think it lived up to its reputation very well since the story and setting was great and despite knowing most of what happens it still pulled me in. The side-characters were really good, I especially liked Barry and the town rock stars that went by Tor and Odin. It did really well making the setting this sort of small town setting where everyone knows each other that I believe was inspired by the Twin Peaks series along with other stories that feature that, like I know they mention Stephen King a few times. The gameplay still holds up pretty well I think, even if the combat did get kind of predictable later on such as it being pretty obvious when you were going to get ambushed and attacked. I feel like the earlier Episodes made getting attacked feel less certain but maybe it was because it was mostly in a forest area whereas the rest are in more linear and narrow areas. But that's not really a strike against it. I think the one thing I wasn't really a fan of was getting attacked by the possessed objects since I felt like they became more annoying later on since they don't get staggered when you shine your light on them and if there was one behind you they could smack you in the head and kill you pretty quickly. If the Dark Presence really wanted to kill Alan all it really had to do was possess a bunch of random crap and throw it at him instead of sending Taken in the form of loggers and other human types ? Trophy-wise it's not that bad even with Nightmare difficulty. It's mostly just collectibles and other stuff you would mostly get without trying through normal gameplay. Nightmare difficulty itself wasn't so bad even if some sections were more annoying than hard but the game does give you plenty of items to use and since you can skip most fights you can beat levels a bit quicker. But yeah, it's a very enjoyable game that I'm really glad I got to play. I also really love the choice of soundtracks that they used, particularly how the credits song is Space Oddity by David Bowie and there's a trophy where it wants you to play the "Put the lime in the coconut and drink'em all up" song ? #225: Living Legend - Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age My first dive into the Dragon Quest series and man what a journey it was. I know this series has a reputation for pretty much being an event in Japan and after just playing this one I think I understand how these games have such an iron grip on Japan's economy to where if they released it on a work day it would basically collapse and there would be chaos because no one is working that day to be the first to play Dragon Quest ? But jokes aside it's a fantastic game from start to finish and I'm glad that I did save it for a milestone Platinum. Ultimately I think the thing that makes it great is that it's just filled to the brim with charm and I think that is attributed to the character designs by Akira Toriyama along with the story and characters being a mostly feel-good high adventure kind of thing that definitely captures the imagination of pretty much all ages. I can see why Ichiban from Yakuza 7 used it as an outlet for his undiagnosed schizophrenia ? But yeah, it's a very beautiful setting with all sorts of characters that while some are cliche archetypes they are still very enjoyable and likeable characters. The one thing that I think tops off the charm is the soundtrack. My understanding is that the original soundtrack for the base DQXI wasn't considered very good whereas with DQXI S they actually had an orchestra with it which I think was a good choice. Unfortunately in-between me playing and getting the Platinum the composer, Koichi Sugiyama had passed away and so going back to completing it so I can make it a milestone Platinum and hearing the soundtrack hit a bit differently since it is one of those soundtracks that I didn't really get tired of hearing even if I heard the same songs a lot. I think I can best describe the soundtrack as "beautiful" since it captured that adventurous and other-worldly fantasy spirit very well. I'll even say that the original soundtrack doesn't sound so bad really, but I think having it be orchestrated really helped out in its favor and added on to making it a memorable experience. To continue further with the story and characters they are both great and there was one moment where you get a secret character that I thought was really cool, and there's a later part where everyone gets their own kind of personal side-quest that were all really great and with at least one of them I remember getting misty eyed from it. The other thing was how after such a long journey to beat what is supposed to be the final boss the game opens up a third act which feels like it's opening up a whole other game. So yeah, the game definitely is quite the adventure with its twists and turns ? As far as the trophies go it's a pretty standard JRPG list with I think the only one that you have to go out of your way for was the Dedicated Follower of Fashion one where you have to get every characters costumes but it wasn't really that bad apart from having to grind in the Casino to get the materials I needed. There's also something of a grind to get everyone to level 99 but thankfully it's not that bad once you have everyone set up the right way. At the end of the day I don't think I can really praise it enough without repeating myself. Like I said it's a fantastic game with lots of charm to it that I think I would recommend to anyone looking for a JRPG.
Popular Post Raidou Kuzunoha XIV
#178: Middle-Earth: Shadow of War I bought this game back fairly close to launch, which I regret now considering I never got around to playing it till recently and it became dirt cheap. I actually re-bought the definitive edition with 2 discs for like £12 brand new, for the DLC. Never played the DLC for the first game, and don't really care to ever buy it and go back to it just for the DLC either, but considering how cheap it was, I thought I might as well get the story DLC for this one. I decided to get around to this game in general in case they decide to shut down the online servers at some point. Now for my thoughts on this... Overall, the platinum journey was pretty easy, with a few slightly annoying and grindy trophies thrown in. The game itself was fun (mostly) but... The story was atrocious. I don't remember Shadow of Mordor's story too well, don't remember it being anything special either, but I don't remember it having such a "wtf" epilogue and ending. It felt like they just ran out of ideas and literally just threw shit at the wall without even bothering to see what stuck. This is a sequel that definitely didn't feel like it needed to exist, as many do, it feels like it's just here to make some extra cash from SoM's assets. Overall, I didn't enjoy it as much as SoM. Building up an orc army and capturing forts was fun and all, but did get repetitive, especially during the Shadow Wars section, which I hear used to be even more tedious before an update. Kinda glad I played it now rather than around launch as a result. I've yet to play the DLC, I'll likely start it soon. Don't know if I care enough to 100% it, if there's a few trophies I miss or find too annoying in the DLC, I prolly won't bother, plat is good enough for me.

Omelette Paradise
#511 & #512 - Reed Remastered (Vita & PS4) #513 & #514 - Reed 2 (Vita & PS4) I quite liked both of these games and do enjoy a decent pixel art platormer. The challenge was a bit frustrating in places due to the weird hit boxes that on occasion will see you fail a level even if stationary. What I really liked though was the shortness of the levels and the non existent loading times, making them perfect for quick up and play sessions, especially on Vita. Popular Post Eqill5
Crash Bandicoot Warped - Platinum #51 Probably my least favourite in the trilogy. To start with I really disliked how many gimmicky levels there were but it kind of grew on me towards the end of collecting the relics and gems, which are also the easier bunch of the three original games! Next up will be CTR before attempting Crash Bandicoot 4!
Popular Post Viscera1900
#322 - Life is Strange: True Colors Haven Maven "Collect all Trophies in Life is Strange: True Colors™" Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 1.5/10 Completion time: 13 hours / 1 day, 19 hours (PSNP) Very enjoyable game to play through, just like the previous Life is Strange games. I think LiS: True Colors is my second favorite game of the franchise. Trophy wise it's really easy list to complete. Just few tricky collectibles, but aside from that; just complete the game and platinum trophy is yours. Personally I think Life is Strange: True Colors is kinda overpriced compared to previous games, but thankfully they ditched the whole episodic release thing just like Hitman 3: I guess that might be the reason of this game's high tag price. Might be bit spoilery, but this is the ending I chose for my play through;
