Popular Post Carol
#224 Hades (PS4) God of Blood Earn all other Trophies "Hades" is a truly epic game, that deserves all the praise that it gets. It's a great game, with beautiful environments and characters, a fantastic soundtrack, amazing voice acting and a simple, but lovely story. I appreciate that this game is a roguelite, because I am not a very skilled person, so I never get far in roguelikes. I am thankful to Supergiant Games for creating a great game, accessible to everyone and to all skill levels. If you prefer an easier experience, you can activate God Mode, that pretty much removes all difficulty, when you already have a lot of damage resistance, but if you want to make the game harder, you can also do that. Trophy-wise, if you have God Mode activated, there's nothing particularly hard about this platinum. You just have to play the game a lot. It took me a month, playing pretty much every day, to unlock this platinum. This made the game a bit less enjoyable for me, because you get to a point where you already saw everything, in terms of gameplay, but you still need to keep playing. This continuous gameplay loop started to make me feel somewhat numb, but this is a problem that only trophy hunters will have. In conclusion, "Hades" is a fantastic game, that I absolutely recommend, although, as a trophy hunter, I would have preferred a shorter experience.
Popular Post Nauticus87
#539 - Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered Time to complete: 1 week, 1 day (55 hours) I'd played Ni No Kuni before and enjoyed it, but that was before I started properly trying to go for trophies, so when the remastered version went on sale I knew it was a good excuse to replay the game and see if I fancied finishing it all. The game itself is wonderful, visuals inspired by Studio Ghibli with cutscenes done by them, a great Pokemon-esque capture and evolving battle system and a story as long as any Dragon Quest game for that deep traditional RPG fix. Unfortunately there are a few things that mar the experience, namely the side-quests of which most are frustratingly dull, and a ton of needless backtracking (even within the same town going from castle to town to castle) that feels more like padding rather than satisfyingly progressing the story. So long as you're efficient at keeping track of a few collectibles (familiars, ingredients for recipes, feeding one familiar) the platinum won't be that bad a grind at the end. Not to mention it's one of the few games where you can vary your grinding up with multiple locations for certain items and more than enough familiars to decide which ones you want to catch and evolve. I'd recommend it to any fan of traditional RPGs such as Dragon Quest. ... #540 - Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Time to complete: 8 years, 3 months (76 hours) So as I said, I played Ni No Kuni before. I still had my physical copy. I still had my old save file. I booted it up to have a look at pre-trophy hunting me and, surprisingly, I'd done pretty well. I'd just been inefficient when it came to familiars, ingredients for recipes, and feeding one familiar. Another four hours of efficient focus and I'd got the remaining trophies and the platinum. At 8 years and 3 months it's my longest time to get a platinum. I can't see that being beaten looking at the games that are older on my list so this will stand as my oldest platinum.
Popular Post DesmaBR
Platinum #150 This Trophy Ends with You Collected all graffiti. People love to say shit like "Oooh, I'd kill for a new [x] game!" "oooh, I'd sell my soul for a new [y] game!" ... Fellas, I think someone did it. There's no other explanation for why this game exists. The original game is a very important game to me. I've played it back when I was in 4th grade, and I though Neku was cool as hell "He pushes people away, don't wanna talk to anybody" (I was at THAT game) The game really had an effect on me... even if I completely misread the whole message of the game lol But I was on 4th grade, leave me alone. I might not have been the person I am today if I hadn't played the original back then. So it almost feels weird to play a sequel to it 15 years after the original came out. Feels like my life has come full circle, in a way. But what really stuck me is that the game feels straight outta 2007. This really just feels like The World Ends With You made for a home console. Even the platinum feels like a game from the PS3 era, with none of the QOL improvements you'd expect from a modern game. "Oh boy, gotta replay an entire chapter and hope I'll find a random enemy that will hopefully drop a pin I need" You can't even skip cutscenes (Just fast-forward them), which I though was funny. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of touchpad support on the Dualshock 4. It was always a bit of a dream of mine to get a new TWEWY game on PS4 that made use of it, but alas, it will never be. Thankfully, the battle system here somehow manages to be just as confusing (in a good way) as the original, with only making use of standard controls. It's honestly pretty impressive how ingenious the battle system is. This game is honestly just as good as the original. The story is sadly not as interesting, and it takes from that god awful content from the Switch version of the original. But it's still a lot better than most JRPG's these days. I just can't believe Square actually delivered on this. I just hope more people will pick it up. It was always a dream of mine to get a TWEWY game on PS4 that made use of it
Popular Post MissShake
#76: Afterparty Thanks For Not Reading A Book Instead Get all trophies. I've had this game in my backlog for quite some time, yet I never really got around to it until recently. I even forced myself to play it by using it for three different events, and it looks like that finally motivated me to give Afterparty a shot. (Heh... Shots.) In this game, you play as two recent college students who have died, and to win their chance to come back to life they have to beat Satan himself in a drinking competition. If the premise didn't make it clear, this game is a bit more comedic than the last game by Night School Studios, Oxenfree. This definitely works in the favor of Afterparty, it makes the game feel like its own thing and allows for a lot more laughs. But overall I do think I liked Oxenfree more. The characters in this game are good, funnily enough Satan gets some character development which is pretty cool, but the cast of Oxenfree was just that good. That game also didn't have Wormhorn, who is super annoying, so that's a plus for Oxenfree. But I definitely think this game is worth a look! It's an easy plat if you use PS Plus's cloud saves for the endings, the minigames can be a biiit finicky though so that's worth noting. It's also on sale right now, could be a great plat to go for on Halloween! #77: The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series The Long Walk Collect all Trophies Back when this game was making the rounds on YouTube, I remember watching some episodes before buying the first and second season. I never got further than the second season for some reason, so I finally gave the series a full run for Spooky Season. I know, I know, if I had bought the seasons individually I would have been able to get more than one platinum, but honestly I don't mind that this version only has the one plat. I DO dislike the plat art for this edition, it's recycled from the first season's list and just converted into a plat. This wouldn't really bug me if they at least picked one of the nicer looking trophies. Ah well, at least the experience was fun. I genuinely had a great time revisiting this one, the fact that many of the seasons all lead to the same end might be a bit of a bummer for people who are really gung-ho about the choices matter aspect of these games, but the story itself is strong (most of the time) so I wasn't particularly bothered by this. Clementine is still, after all these years, my fave kid in gaming, and it was so nice to finally see how her story ended. So many twists and turns, I definitely recommend that people give this series a try! If you're really here for trophies, then yeah buy each season separately, but you really can't go wrong just getting the Definitive Series and sticking with the one plat. Oh and if you were curious about my opinions on the seasons themselves: S1 > S4 > S2 >>> S3 .
Popular Post Captain_Bone_666
#70: Control Director of the FBC Unlock all other trophies Now I have the platinum and I still do not know if I liked it. I liked the combat dynamics. It was fun levitating and throwing stuff and people at people and monsters. I also liked the fairly straight forward trophies, even though some of the bosses suddenly turn up the difficulty level significantly. Little hint for those out there trying to get the plat without being able to slam upwards (has been patched), I can confirm that you can get the "Master Parautilitarian" trophy without reaching the first hidden location on the column in the executive area. You do not have to bother with jumping on those hovering dudes. Anyway, something felt a little off for me. Probably the story and the characters. I am motivated by story or at least by a game that pretends to have one that makes sense, even if it is really simple. Or by an interesting character. Or a funny one. The strange story lost me within minutes and I never cared about Jess. The whole game felt like an arcade game to me that never made any sense. Would I do it again? Probably... I don't get it either.

PondNewt
I got the Kaze and the Wild Masks platinum this morning. A great 2D platformer that I'd highly recommend to anyone who enjoys these sort of games in the vein of say a Rayman Legends. I went into it with high hopes of it being good and it was even better that I anticipated. The game was a bit harder than I expected given the amount of platinum achievers (which is fairly high) but it's something most gamers would be able to do sooner or later I'd say given some patience and persistence.
Popular Post alexandra-jane09
# 60 Alan Wake Remastered Platinum Trophy Unlocked When All Trophies Collected 9/10 for the Story 3/10 for the bad mechanics The game has a great storyline, Twin Peaks meets Poltergeist and the Twilight Zone, but I feel that the mechanics let it down. Alan is given a torch [ or flashlight if you are from the US ] that you need to use to light up these possessed demonic I suppose dead people, and it take a while to make you able to take away the dark around them so they become vulnerable to be attacked and defeated. Even on easy mode, you will likely get killed [ they also throw axes at you ]quickly as the torch is slow to recharge [ they overwhelm you with enemies in the game in parts imo ]. Dodging them is also available but again its hit and miss, and he also has stamina, if you sprint too much he runs out of steam, which is also very annoying [ which also hinders you if you are trying to run from enemies]. Another annoying thing is with the weapons, even when he has about 36 bullets in his revolver, you have to reload and when you are surrounded by the demons that's also a pain too. I never played the original, but I think they could of done something with the mechanics in the remaster. I won't be doing the DLC for a while, want to move on for a bit.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #661: Difficulty: 3.5/10 Playtime: 30-50 hours? (I honestly have no way of telling. Less than the PSNP guide indicates, anyway.) Ahhh... Mortal Kombat! Pioneer of pixelation excellence, harbinger of ratings boards, and inundator of fun, bloody, and bloody fun memories into the nascent brain convolutions of the once and future starry-eyed meatbag whose incessant madcap ravings you, for better or worse, currently find yourself subjected to. Sneaking off to the neighbours' for the first bit of the old ultraviolence I came to know, and later deftly hiding my copy of MKII from my parents in between wildly inputting random combinations hoping against hope to trigger some new Fatality (I was successful once or twice!) comprise some of the best fighting game memories I have, not to be matched until the release of that most wondrous of fighting games, Mortal Kombat X. That's right, I view MK9 with the same disappointment as I do installments like 4 and Deception... fucking fight me. My faith in an infamously patchy series thus restored, I must confess to some genuine if cautious optimism for a follow-up, brushing off trailers with unfitting (k)rap music and other worrying reports of AAA shenanigans as par-for-the-courseexecutive marketing edicts unlikely to affect the end product to any large degree. Unfortunately, the greedy and soulless grasp of MK's One True Elder God, WB, makes Shinnok's spooky scary skeleton hands look like the fuzzy mitts of a Care Bear. And the effects of their touch is most assuredly in diametric opposion to that of King Midas. Consequently, this write-up will read more like a list of crimes than a review. And the most grevious charge? Its propensity for being... well, I'll let my friend and yours, Sir Daniel Fordensque, summarize matters: Thank you, Sir Daniel. Indeed, 'tis rare that a man is knighted for their laconic summations alone, but who am I to say no to a face like that? Yes, even beyond the grinding ever-so-dubiously "required" for trophies and all that, every fibre of this game's being is predicated upon predatory tactics. Wanna get them Krypt treasures? Gotta amass three different currencies (chiefly) through grinding. Want one of the, what, 738 skins, of which the majority looks like Technicolour Fortnite vomit completely at odds with the MK aesthetic? Best get to grinding. You want some, I don't know, actual damn Fatalities? Grind, grind, grind! And of course, some of the unlockables are RNG-based anyway, and some are even locked behind challenging towers beyond the skill level of your average player. Hell, even "buying" your way to success is hardly an option, as the game only offers you a pittance of "Time Krystals" with which to buy stuff from the rotating storefront. And that's not even getting into the non-cosmetic stuff, like the augments and things that can provide an (unfair) advantage over other players... just a perfect storm of the worst aspects of AAA gaming. I think at this point you can clearly see that a fair share of my goodwill has been vanquished by way of GRINDTALITY, which wouldn't be that bad if the rest of the game was up to snuff. Unfortunately, what remains has also taken a sizeable hit. The endlessly enjoyable and razor-sharp pre-match banter that made new match-ups in MKX fresh and exciting, now comes off as largely dull and unimaginative. So much of the character-derived wit that was just is nowhere to be found, largely replaced by generic "let's fight" admonitions, jokes without a punchline, and cringeworthy modern references. I don't know if they fired the old writers or whatever, but the drop-off is cataclysmic... as if fights in this game needed another reason to just feel like a chore. Fatalities have a kind of languid, methodical pace to them; they all seem to end up as self-indulgent showcases of slow-motion blood, and there is just too much focus on shoehorning in as much detailed mutilation as possible to the point it just becomes white noise. MK has always walked a fine line between brutal fucking murder and goofy '80s splatter shlock, but most of the murderizations on offer here just seem like the twisted wet dreams of a burgeoning serial killer. The fun is kinda gone, you know? The Friendships are the best in the series, though, so that's something? ...Wow, are you as shocked to see an honest-to-Raiden positive comment as I am? Because it's not all doom and gloom, dude! Story's one of the best in the series, doubling down on the heroes' heroishness with aplomb in a story that's just about dark enough. Liu Kang, whose story this chiefly is... well, I've never been more proud to call him my Champion of Earthrealm. The borderline bromance of Scorpion and Sub-Zero continues hitting new heights. Cassie gets to show more hidden depths beyond her wise (and nut)-cracking bravado as she deals with the burden of leadership. Pretty much everyone gets a chance to shine and show more aspects of their humanity, and not just the residents of Earthrealm... And, not to be outdone, the antagonistic side of things is also in fine form. Gambling on a new primary antagonist in lieu of the old standbys is an enticing prospect. Kronika, Mistress of Time--whose sole redeeming feature are her stunning cheekbones--is revealed as the intimidating scheming mastermind orchestrating all the events of the series thus far--regardless of timeline--in order to achieve, umm, Time Kompression, or something? And in alliance with the fallen heroes who now govern the Netherrealm, her Flawless Victory is close at hand... ...But you see the problem here, right? A majority of these positives can be experienced courtesy of Gary YouTube without spending a dime. And you know something? Maybe you should keep the dime. I certainly wish I had. Even other bright points like series best interpretations of fellow gasmaskian Kabal and Noob Saibot (cheesy Dr. Klaw voice or no) aren't enough to stand up to the antipathy-inducing onslaught of the game's nebulous customer-unfriendly hubris. Even Shao Kahn would be disgusted. Here was a chance to turn everything up to eleven... unfortunately, they focused only on the things that I already disliked about MKX. Though perhaps--what with its aforementioned garish and goofy aesthetics; Sub-Zero's hat-mask thing is objectively hideous--always fated to follow the trajectory of a disappointing MK3 to MKX's II, it could still have been a good game in its own right... if WB hadn't decided to WB the fuck out of this, sucking the soul out of game and player alike at a rate that would make Shang Tsung cream his pants. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go reinstall MKX, which I unfortunately had to delete to make room for this. I'm sorry, baby, I never should have abandoned you like that. Please forgive me... I'll love you 'till the day of my own Fatality. Final Score: 5/10

Popular Post StraightVege
I am The Messenger #276 What a vibrant homage to classic Ninja Gaiden, and one which doesn't merely ape its inspiration, but markedly improves and expands upon every aspect of it to achieve something exceptional. This is one highly polished action platforming masterpiece that seamlessly transitions between equally appealing 8-bit and 16-bit visual styles, as your unassuming ninja hero travels throughout time to prevent a demonic invasion. Initially, the game might lull you into thinking it's a straightforward level-based affair, but it soon enough morphs into a substantive Metroidvania adventure that kept me busy for over 17 hours, nary a moment of which was boring. Every screen is its own cleverly crafted little obstacle course, often challenging, but never unfair, and accompanied by some seriously catchy chiptunes. The slick and stylish traversal is built around a unique ability called the "Cloudstep," allowing you to gain additional midair jumps by slashing just about anything with your sword—sconces, enemies or even projectiles. Used in tandem with other unlockable gadgets, like the rope dart and wing suit, I eventually found myself swiftly and precisely zipping up vertical rooms in some of the most satisfying platforming I've ever had the privilege to enjoy. The Messenger's gameplay simply feels fantastic, other than those rare occasions when I inadvertently clung to walls, to my own detriment. An in-game meta joke actually mocks this issue, so I wish they had found a solution to it. One big misstep I thought the game made was the "Corrupted Future" stage, which consists of a dull linear pathway, followed by an irritating trial and error chase sequence. Totally uninteresting filler content, but certainly not bad enough to change my view that The Messenger ranks right up there with Hollow Knight and Blasphemous where Metroidvanias are concerned, and is probably the best game I've managed to finish this year. It's a true must play if you love retro-esque games with a modern touch, and I'm a bit sad that Sabotage's next work is an RPG prequel, since I crave a whole lot more Cloudstepping goodness. Oh, well; they've gotta create what they're passionate about, but I really hope they come back around to this genre at some point. Popular Post Biertje373
Platinum #42 Tales of Arise ArisenA testament to the knowledge gained from both worlds after many adventures and even more battles. Fun: 9/10 Dificulty: 2/10 Time: 80 hours and 40 minutes I never thought that I'd get a platinum with a Tales of- game, but here we are and this game is a gem! I talked about this with some friends, but Tales of-games have always been up and down for me so I am very glad that this one is an up for me. The positives: A fantastic combat system that I couldn't get enough of. A lovely art style and great graphics. An awesome main cast No missables, I am not the biggest fan of missables. A fantastic story with a satisfying conclusion. Some of my alltime favourite side-quests are from this game. The music is a banger, I wouldn't expect it any different. A great amount of enemies. The locations are a lot of fun to visit. A lovely opening and a great OST. A couple of negatives, but they did not ruin my experience: I did not love the fishing, in the end I did not hate it, but I could do without it. I wish that the sidequests had a level indication, it did affect me a couple of times and it was a bit annoying because I couldn't flee from the battle. One positive thing that this game did for me was that it made me excited for the future of the Tales of-series, I was genuinely sad when there wasn't a reason to battle in this game anymore, I got really into these characters and I am really jamming to the music. It makes me happy that I bought it and did everything that I could do. And here's my platinum screenshot, I like this one, it's simple and nice:

Popular Post Draps-1337
#140 Hell Let Loose Difficulty 4/10 Enjoyment 7/10 This month's ps5 plus game is everything I had heard from friends who have been playing this on PC for months. Intense semi-realism world war 2 big battle shooter. When you have a full server (50 vs 50) and people are communicating and respecting the chain of command, this game is firing on all cylinders and feels great. Anything less than that and you're in for a rough session. A big downside here is the duration of the matches, most battles have you playing a single match for ~90 minutes and in some of the worst cases, a single match can take 2.5 hours! When you need 25 wins of both warfare and offensive for the platinum it's sure to take a long time to get these even with a high win rate. The platinum took me a total of 60 Hours in-game time. If you like the earlier battlefield games and are a little disappointed with the direction they have taken in recent years then this is certainly worth a shot. The game is pretty complex and there isn't really a tutorial, stick with it though as this becomes an incredibly enjoyable experience 80% of the time.

Popular Post DrunkenEngineer
Platinum #26 - Deathloop (October 15, 2021) An attempted progression of the studio's immersive-sim formula that began with Dishonored, iterated upon in Prey and finally distilled down into something unfortunately less than the sum of its parts. It is as if a cover band produced their own Arkane's Greatest Hits Volume 1, as Deathloop feels like a shallow imitation of the previous greats. The Good Wacky alt-1960s aesthetics and well-acted voice work A full suite of Dishonored-inspired powers to be unleashed Invasion mechanics No save-scumming capability, "perfect" gameplay is deemphasized The Bad Dull itemization and little tangible rewards for exploration Thin veneer of choice that ultimately results in one method for breaking the loop No meaningful NPCs or sidequests - anything that isn't Colt is to be shot, stabbed, or maimed 100% Impressions The gameplay will have you looping over and over again as Colt, picking from 4 zones and progressing through 4 times of the day. When the day is done, or you die, you start the loop over. In between zones you can adjust your loadout and choose items to infuse (preserving them in a permanent state between runs). Much like recent roguelites certain resources are carried over between loops, as well as all the clues and story beats uncovered. Every loop you attain more and more knowledge of the nature of the island with a culmination of killing all 8 Visionaries in one loop. Sadly, there is only one method to do this, and you must uncover all the story beats to trigger this final quest line; there isn't freedom to find your perfect loop. Colt is constantly being invaded by a pestering Julianna, either via an AI or player. Once per map that has a living Visionary (boss), Julianna can invade. She wins by killing Colt 3 times, while Colt can either kill Julianna, or hack the escape route and make a clean break (leaving map goals unfulfilled). Sounds familiar, right? Because it's basically Dark Souls invasion mechanics ripped whole cloth. This setting between AI and human can be toggled, and I think it's very important leave the PvP toggle on, at least until the story is beaten. The game is balanced around Julianna invasions as Colt, as the fodder enemies serve as distractions while Julianna is the real threat. Trophies mostly come naturally, are not missable, and involve using your slab powers, killing a Visionary in a unique way, or progressing the storylines. Trophy guides tend to give this game a pretty easy ranking, which I found somewhat deceptive. There are two trophies in particular ("Ghost at the Feast", "Quantum Solution") that can be tricky with instant-fail conditions. That being said, a typical loop of the entire island can take 30 minutes at end-game, so trophy clean up really takes no time at all. Deathloop feels like Arkane's sell out game, with streamlined features that I can only guess are publisher directed, remote-work caused, talent turnover generated, or some combination thereof. The tone of this review might be overly negative, but because this game could and should have been so much more and I have high expectations of the developer. I still enjoyed my time with it, and hope for DLC content or any other reason to revisit, but it is best skipped by most folks unless they are Arkane super-fans.
