Popular Post Undead Wolf
#388 - Astro's Playroom You've Only Done Everything Found all trophies in ASTRO's PLAYROOM. See you in our next adventure! Just got my PS5 and it wouldn't feel right playing anything else but this first. It's a great introduction to all the features of the Dualsense. It's really impressive how they manage to replicate different surfaces you walk on through the controller with vibration, or create tension in the triggers when you climb or use the bow. I've heard this game has the best implementation of these features, so I'm not expecting all PS5 games to be like this, but it's a good proof of concept. But apart from the controller stuff, this game is a really fun platformer. It looks amazing, runs great, and loads quickly. I loved finding all the references to various game franchises scattered throughout the levels. Really cool to see all the PlayStation consoles and peripherals make an appearance in this in the form of collectibles. This whole game is like one big celebration of PlayStation. I only wish there was more of it, but it comes free with the console, so I can't complain. Far better than your Welcome Park's and what not. ? The platinum is really simple, presumably because they want normies to feel like they can earn it without much effort. That goes for pretty much all the first party games these days though. It's basically just a matter of getting all the collectibles and then speedrunning a few levels. You'd think the speedrunning would at least be somewhat of a challenge, but no, not really. They're short, and it was enough for me just to reach the end once - I didn't even have to tryhard beating my time. ? I wish they were more difficult because the plat doesn't feel all that satisfying to earn. Still really enjoyed my time with the game of course.
Popular Post JIMMOTHYY
#29 - Crash Bandicoot 1 The N. Trepid Crash Bandicoot! Collect all the Crash Bandicoot Trophies. Difficulty: 8/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 I really have to commend the 37,000+ players that have earned this achievement. I started with the hardest (The High Road) for about 6-7 hours and it felt impossible. However, I was able to slowly chip away at this trophy by spending hundreds of lives to find shortcuts and corners (many times failing by a tenth of a second). I may try out Crash 2 & Crash 3 sometime later, but I've heard a mix bag of difficulty for those games. Popular Post Masamune
One Percenter Go above and BEYOND, unlocking every trophy in Days Gone Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Playtime: 90~ hours (estimate via days counter) This game was so much better than I expected it to be, I shouldn't have put it off for so long. How has this not gotten a sequel?! Overall both the story & gameplay are great, you can play stealthily or just do a head-on assault in most cases. Trophies are all pretty easy & can be done on any difficulty, the only thing I really focused on during my playthrough was the one for looting 541 human enemies, then I just had some collectables & miscellaneous things left to do in post-game (don't think there's any missables). I'll definitely be doing the extra trophies eventually, but for now I wanna start something different...
Popular Post DaniloSP_80
Last one I got was Secret Of Mana remastered on the PS4. I loved the game but boy, the end-game was a true grindfest, trying to get those weapon orbs to drop. I actually stopped playing the game for months due to boredom. Won't be playing again soon. Still, if you haven't experienced the game before go ahead and play it. A nineties Square Soft classic. Popular Post Vrisnem
Three plats in one day - a feat I will probably never achieve again. All of these were long-term projects. The first two were Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds - Does This Mean I Can Go Outside Now...? and Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms - Chizzy Chizzy Bang Bang. Hakuoki games are admittedly my guilty pleasure. Accidentally bought one on the 3DS mistaking it for a hack'n'slash/war game and somehow fell in love with seducing the Shinsengumi. Don't tell the Mrs. Although admittedly I relied on skip text to platinum these two once I cleared the routes of the characters I was actually interested in. The game has grown too large for my liking with 10+ suitors. I'll be passing on future instalments. Anyway, motivation to finish these was I am going to be selling my PS Vita so it's nice to clear these both. I've one game left that I want to complete before I sell the console. The one I'm actually excited to talk about: Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires Completionist This is one of the very first games I bought for my PS4! It took 6 years, 8 months to obtain the platinum but it's finally finished! I couldn't justify buying Dynasty Warriors 9 when it came out, so instead I decided that I would platinum all three Dynasty Warriors 8 games before I bought DW9. It has been a little over 3 years since I set out on the mission, but this was the last of the three to be completed (DW8 in Jun 2020, DW8:XL in Jul 2021) so now I can finally buy DW9 guilt-free - and it's on sale for just £11 right now too! ?

Popular Post Slava
#15 - GRAN TURISMO 6 Gran Turismo Platinum Trophy I like racing games. But somehow, this was the first racing game on my profile. It's also my first Gran Turismo game I really put time into. I crossed paths with series before and played a little bit of GT1 and GT4, but obviously not enough to form any opinion, so GT6 was mostly a fresh expersience to me. And I'm glad to say GT6 is a pretty good car racing sim. First of all, it looks amazing for a 2013 game made for the 2006 hardware. Polyphony Digital extracted all the power they could out of PS3, even if it was challenging for them. The cars and tracks look great, the day-night cycle and dynamic weather systems are impressive. The performance is also pretty good - the game targets 60 FPS at 1080p. It doesn't always reach that target but you won't see any significant drops other than some hitches when you fail a challenge (go out of bounds, for example). What's the price of all that magic? There's some screen tearing, and sometimes it's pretty noticeable, although it wasn't bad enough to ruin the game for me. I've heard you can switch your PS3 settings to the 720p output, and the game will apparently run natively in that mode, but I learned about that too late, so I didn't bother. The game also features a cool photo mode. You can mess around with settings and take photos after any race or at some locations specifically designed for that feature. more of my (mediocre) shots here: Spoiler GT6 is a competent simulator, as expected from the series. The cars feel good to drive, there are hundreds of them but they do feel and sound distinct from each other. When you upgrade some parts, or tune the car, or change some driving settings, or even pick different tyres, you can notice the difference as well. I'm not a car specialist, but sometimes I messed around with these things to achieve better results in challenges. Simple things like turning off active stabilization can help. The one thing that is definitely not realistic is the car damage. It's limited to some slight visual marks during the races, which I didn't mind. And it apparantly adds up if you drive one car a lot, so you have to fix it, but I've never had to do that throughout dozens of hours of playing. The game is also very user-friendly. If you don't like the UI, you can remove any particular element from the screen. I didn't want the list of racers to cover up a big part of my screen, so got rid of that. If you want to change the button layout you can do that to. There are tons of races and challenges to participate in. The races are pretty simple. In most of them you don't even need to worry about cutting corners (just don't go too far from the track) and your tyres and fuel. The interesting part only starts after you reach the S class events. There, you'll have to pay attention to the level of fuel and how worn out your tyres are. Now, when it comes to the AI, the game dissapointed me a little. The AI drivers don't do a lot of interesting things, they don't try to overtake you or others very often. You'll rarely see them make mistakes. Generally, they act like they're following some very simple and dumb script. I don't mind rubber-banding, but in this game it's different. It feels like they have to have a certain time advantage by a certain point in the race (you always start at the bottom of the bracket and overtake everyone), and sometimes you'll see them zoom ahead during the final stretch of the first laps. The weirdest things happen in the NASCAR races when the cars with the exact same parameters seemingly drive faster and you can't catch up. I still haven't figured out why. Even if we all use the slip stream (which is hella overpowered in this game) I fall behind for some reason. One of my favourite types of races was the Time Rally mode. It's the arcade style mode where you chase the high score on a long and beautiful track while trying not to run out of time. Your score multiplyier goes up when you overtake another car, and it resets if you bump into them or the borders. You also get bonuses for speed and jumps. Time Rally was really fun to play. Even after getting gold, I returned to play again and improve my score. It's a great idea for an arcade game. There's even a split screeen mode, but I haven't tried that. The trophy list isn't bad. Get some wins, pass the challenges, grind the mileage, spend lots of money, do some miscellaneous stuff, and that's basically it. You'll get the platinum without a problem. The F1 challenges of the Ayrton Senna DLC are the actual hard part of this trophy list. I'm sure that if you're an experinced auto sim player, you'll figure them out in a reasonable number of attempts. Take your steering wheel controller, set the transmission to manual, traction control to 1, do a few attempts, improve bit by bit, and you're done. For me, it took ages ?. I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to do it. I played on DS3 controller, automatic transmission, but I know it wasn't the problem - I just wasn't good enough. But in the end, after many attempts and gradual improvements I managed to beat the target time and complete the DLC and get all trophies. GT6 is still worth playing in 2021 IMO, even without the working online mode. There are newer racing sims out there, but this game still plays and looks fine. And the plat is pretty easy, just a little grindy. Edited November 10, 2021 by Slava

Popular Post Yuuria_
#32 PERSONA 5 STRIKERS I remember when Persona 5 released in 2017 and I bought it on a whim, not knowing anything about the series, after only having watched one 15 minutes gameplay video that I didn't even like. Needless to say, I ended up absolutely loving it, so much so in fact that when Royal was announced I went out of my way to preorder, what is still to this day, my first and only Collector's Edition. After I was done with Royal I bought one of Kasumi's Action Figures, a first for me. Fast forward to today, after over 750 hours across three games I'm done with the Persona 5 games. I've made incredible memories with the characters over the years; saying goodbye has been a challange and I still often feel the urge to revisit the games. Moving now onto Strikers specifically. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, both Sophia and Zenkichi are great additions to the cast and each of them brings something completely new to the table; I especially think having an adult as part of the team proved to be a brilliant move by Atlus. The Dynasy Warriors style gameplay was fun and this being my first ever Musou game I left satisfied. The amount of controllable characters, each with their own style and combos can be overwhelming at first but once that feeling wears off and you realize that there actually isn't all that much to master that's when combat begins to shine. The classic 'All-out Attack', '1 More' and the 'Baton Pass' moves make a dashing comeback alogside the 'Showtime' mechanic added with Royal and they're honestly the most fun mechanics in Strikers and what allow the combat to feel very fast paced when used correctly. Sadly, everything else I have to say is far from positive.. TIME TO PLATINUM: 175 Hours My time is in no way indicative of the time it will take a normal player to achieve this Platinum. An average time would be around 50 hours. I always say that I'm very slow but that's not the only reason why it took this long. I don't normally like to talk about specific trophies but I'll make an exception in this case. Strikers has 2 very grind heavy trophies: - Mask Connoisseur (Completed the inmate registry); - Eternal Bonds (Maxed out all BOND skill levels). For the first trophy you need to level up Joker to level 90 since the NG+ exclusive Persona (and probably the only one you'll be missing when starting NG+) is at that level and you cannot fuse Personas of a higher level than yours. Grinding to level 90 shouldn't take more than a couple of hours of repeated farming of the end-game Requests, the problem lies elswhere. In Strikers, for the first time, having the correct Personas for a fusion might not suffice and you might be asked to have the 'ingredients' at a specific minimum level. Raising a Persona's level requires Persona Points (will be hereby abbreviated to P.pts for future reference) which are accumulated by fusing or releasing, you guessed it, Personas. I only had around 1 Million P.pts by the end of the game and those were around 1/10 of what I needed. The solution was to either buy and release my best Persona until I got the points need or, alternatively, using a Fusion loop (as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebveWXb_2lU&t=943s) for a couple of hours of mind-numbing repetition. This process doesn't take long but I wanted to go in-depth to really highlight the poor design/testing that went into this. 'Eternal Bonds' is where most of the pain comes from. There's multiple methods to tackle this but none of them will make the experience even remotely fun. The first way is to farm the Metatron fight for 15 to 20 hours. The second, and the one intended by the devs, is to play NG+ on Merciless to take full advantage of the massive BOND exp multiplier. The thing about Merciless is that it just isn't the fun kind of challange: all that changes when it comes to combat is that the enemies become extremely tanky and gain the ability to nuke you into oblivion with one single attack. The significantly reduced margin for error and the inability to restart a fight in case of failure (you'll be sent back to the last checkpoint) leaves one strategy available: spamming your strongest skill until the fight is over. Option 2 is essentially a shorter (around 4 hours once you get around to farming Dire Shadows) but no less boring option 1. Also do note that some players might have massive trouble even making it to the point where you are able to farm the strongest shadows. The third option is in Osaka and it revolves around interacting with the Billiken statue over and over, for hours, until you get to the desired level (usually 4/6 hours). There are other locations that allow BOND farming but since repeated interactions require the map to be reloaded the Billiken statue spot is the most indicated due to its proximity to a loading screen. I know I went into a great deal of unnecessary detail but there's a reason behind it. I'm the type of player who only goes after the Platinum of the games I love, regardless of difficulty, and this was the first time in 32 Platinums that I really considered dropping the chase due to the sheer boredom and tediousness of a trophy. I don't mind having to replay a game on a Challage Mode, I like challanges, but the game has to remain fun and not be so unfairly hard that it removes options from the player effectively turning combat into a mindless 'R1 into Skill' spam-fest. I genuinely think that Merciless was not properly tested, if at all, and this feeling greatly added up to my frustration as time passed. I decided to play through the game one more time, on a fresh save file, as to not leave this amazing cast of characters and games behind me with a sour taste in my mouth and I only went back to upgrade my last BOND skill once the credits stopped rolling. I know that many simply love seeing the number of their Platinums go up with little attachment to the games they play, nothing wrong with that, but for someone like me who sees the Platinum as a way to show appreciation for a game it's hard to tolerate what seems like blatant lack of testing for completionism content which greatly lessened my enjoyment of a game I otherwise love. For the reasons mentioned above I give Strilers a FUN FACTOR of 4/10 but please do note that this number is in no way indicative of the overall quality of the game as it is more so a reflection of the path to achieve the Platinum trophy Lastly, DIFFICULTY: 3/10 The game has no difficulty related trophies and is therefore very easy as long as you arm yourself with a lot of patience. Very straightforward, typical Far Cry road to the platinum. Found some great boosting groups on this site for the multiplayer trophies. Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #336 LEGO Movie 2: The Videogame (PS4) You are Just as Special as we are Unlock all Trophies in The LEGO® Movie 2 - Videogame “Everything’s not awesome........” Seriously, those are real lyrics from the second movie. It turns out they are almost prophetic when applied to this video game. Didn’t that song from the accompanying film come around and bite them squarely on the behind. It turns out with those lyrics, they perfectly described the video game adaptation of – well to give it its full title, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. I believe this is the first time I’ve ever played two film adaptations back to back on my profile, I can’t think of a time I’ve done it before. If you are one of those types of people that feel as if they need to have seen the film first to be able to play a video game adaptation of said media, then I’m going to put a few of your minds at ease with this one. You don’t need to watch the film at all; it barely follows the structure of the film in the slightest. The game’s story essentially ends roughly two thirds of the way through the film. I understand that the final third of the film is tough to adapt as a video game, but one of the overarching messages of that original LEGO Movie, is an encouragement of creative freedom. So if ever there was a time for that, it was here – unfortunately just like the in-universe television show “Where are my Pants.” It seems as if Travellers Tales really had an existential crisis with this one...... Threw their hands up in the air and screamed “Where is my creativity?” In a vacuum it would seem. There were a lot of cut corners here, so many in fact you’d probably assume you’d just stumbled across lunchtime in a house full of children that just can’t stand crusts on their sandwiches (there I go with the vague analogies again). Chris Pratt is noticeably absent as Emmet, in fact all you get are vague “WOOAAHS,” and grunts from Emmett. The actress impersonating Elizabeth Banks (Lucy) is decent enough though, which is fortunate as she narrates the entire game. Visually the game is pretty colourful at the very least, but the characters look more like typical LEGO game characters compared to how they did in the previous game, which was more in line with their film counterparts, just directly inserted into a game. Also much like its predecessor the soundtrack is pretty non-descript, and as much as I hate to say it, occasionally annoying too. I’d be lying if I said that this game was terrible – because it isn’t. It’s actually more than competent. It just isn’t good, or particularly engaging. What it is – is wholly unremarkable, and it absolutely suffers from an overabundance of lacklustre features that are just a little bit too shallow for the actual length of the game. Length which is mercifully quite short, I often feel like a LEGO game can live or die on its post game content, or at the very least the ability to have an enjoyable time in the midst of that content. The original LEGO Movie video game did not possess that enjoyable quality – ironically however, this game does. The post game content is at least never really boring, and at times pretty enjoyable. Honestly though –whether it would have maintained that, had it been longer remains to be seen, but what there is, is at the very least: short, sweet and fairly innocuous. Strangely this game abandoned the more typical LEGO game formula of a set of story missions, free play and then a hub world, in favour of making the entire experience open world. I guess – in essence this allowed them to reuse some of the assets that they had from LEGO: Worlds, as this game is essentially that game directly transplanted into this one. There is good and bad with that, the bad mainly comes with the fact that they don’t utilise the building mechanics quite as much as they should. The good however was really good, and was far and away one of my favourite things about the game. This was building on the planet Syspocalaypstar. To be perfectly honest – this is probably the only time in the entirety of the game where it’s actually true to one of the films core principals, which is creating a harmonious union between all things. That sense of satisfaction that you get from rebuilding Syspocalypstar (try saying that when you’ve had a few,) is actually pretty satisfying, as you end up building a little commune of misfits, and seeing all of the misshapen houses and structures all over one place does end up feeling – in a way, like you’ve almost created your own little utopia. LEGO Movie 2: The VideoGame does not ask a lot of you as far as achieving the platinum goes. It’s incredibly straight forward; in fact you don’t even really have to worry about miscellaneous trophies to be perfectly honest. It really is as simple and straightforward as, finish the story, and then achieve one hundred percent completion. This isn’t even true total completion in the usual sense either; you essentially just have to collect every Master Piece (essentially what gold bricks are in the other games,) on every level. I think it took me just shy of twelve hours of in game time to get the platinum, maybe a little longer. I suspect my patience might have worn a bit thin, had the game been much longer. Honestly – I think I’d only really recommend this one if you are either a big fan of both LEGO movies, or you’re trying to get as many of the LEGO games completed as you can on the consoles you own. Or alternatively, you play it as part of an event. I personally fell into both of those categories, as both of those were motivators for me. If you can manage to find this for a decent enough price and you have the interest – then by all means pick it up, but this is absolutely one of those instances more than most, where it really doesn’t deserve people dropping a lot of their hard earned cash on it. Or if you’re really lucky get a brand new copy in a very low EBay bid that you never expected to win like I did. Popular Post iXanon
#33 L.A. Noire (PS3) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Time taken: 3 years, 2 months, 2 weeks What a game L.A. Noire is! This is the second time I've played through it, the first time was on Xbox 360 and I didn't get all of the achievements.. It's also the first time that I've played the DLC cases, and they too were pretty enjoyable. The storytelling is top quality, even if the ending is quite disappointing, and despite its age it looks and plays really well even on the aging PS3. It's been sat on my backlog way too long (hence the lengthy completion). I gave the difficulty a 2/10 though I did use a guide (because I'd technically played through it already). Without a guide I'd say it is at least a 4/10 trying to get the 5-star case ratings, and probably more trying to find the gold film reels but I doubt many would actually do so. I'll be quite sorry not to play this again (I know it's on PS4 - but it's the same game)..

Popular Post Bahraini_carguy
33th Platinum: GTA 3 DE Edition (PS4) I don't want to upset anyone but the Trilogy's "Definitive Edition" is unfortunately a bit disappointing to say the least. Long story short, it's essentially the 10th anniversary mobile ports with a glossy paint over them. It's worth mentioning that both were made by the same team (War Drum Studios/Grove Street St.) so expect quality here...or lack thereof. Don't get me wrong, i like some of the stuff they have done like the vegetation and the remodeling of some game's world assets but they also introduced a lot of bugs including some game breaking ones. Some changes they have done (i.e character designs) are a bit questionable. As for the trophies, most of them are quite straight forward although they can get tedious and/or annoying. The paramedic side mission in particular is definitely a pain to go through. Edited November 12, 2021 by Bahraini_carguy
Popular Post Vrisnem
Bugsnax Bugsnax Master I played about 10 minutes of this game when I first got my PS5, decided I hated it, then promptly forgot about it until a friend mentioned it at a party a couple of weeks back. He said he really enjoyed it and thought that I should give it another go. Yesterday I was downloading a 42GB game—which takes most of the day when you live in the middle of nowhere—and ended up booting it up to kill some time. Promptly fell in love with it. Before I knew it it was 2am, I'd been playing for 9hrs straight, and was at the endgame. Cleaned up the remaining trophies today before completing the final quest. Possibly one of the most fun platinums I've done in a long while. The trophies felt relevant, didn't require any grinding, and were just really quite fun to do! It was a refreshing change of pace from the long grindy plats I typically pursue (Final Fantasy, Dynasty Warriors, etc). Things I thought were silly at first turned out to be more engaging and deeper than I first considered. The Bugsnax capturing mechanics were a little challenging in some spots, but not so much as to disrupt the feel of an otherwise relaxing and laidback game. Also this game sets an amazing example of what LGBT+ representation should look like; I've already convinced my partner to play it as well. ?
