Popular Post JoaLoft
#276 - Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves bundles two of the franchise's finest adventures in one nice PS5 package, which means you'll be able to relive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at a butter-smooth 60 fps (or 120 if your screen supports it) with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. They're still fantastic games and they play even smoother now. Both entries have their own cast and stories, feature tightly-paced sequences of combat, exploration and puzzles. It was a joy playing these all over again, the Uncharted IP is really that sturdy. There's not much else to add: everyone knows about these games already. What I will add, is that the overall package is fairly cheap: brand-new PS5 users can get their hands on it for 50 dollars. And if you own both games already on PS4, you'll only need to surrender 10 dollars to get the same full upgrade package on PS5. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection features an import save feature, meaning you can transfer your progress and your trophies of both games to the PS5 versions. Some might not pop and you'll need to acquire them again through either Chapter Select or Encounter Select. I, personally, did need a fresh save in The Lost Legacy for "C-Phoria" which refused to pop with my imported save file. That was the only one which proved to be a hassle - most trophies unlocked instantly upon importing and the ones that didn't, were easily obtainable again.
EverythingOnFire
Platinum #35 G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout A surprisingly decent throwback third-person shooter with some fun & fairly challenging moments. Thank goodness for it's trophies, as they add some much-needed complexity and a lot of replayability. Very cheesy/lame story, characters, and dialogue, but it's G.I. JOE so that's to be expected. I'm assuming that the toys, comics, and cartoon weren't very popular outside of North America, and I know that the properties heyday has been over for decades now, but I was still surprised to see that this game has under a thousand owners on PSNP, even with it's poor-to-middling reviews. Really shows just how important both marketing and review scores can be.
DefinitiveTJ
Platinum 107 & 108: Cat Quest 1 & 2 & Two prrfect little rpg adventures that are very good in condensing a large genre in two bite sized games. I have Dragon Quest 11s and Ni No Kuni on my list and I really enjoy them in theory but at the moment they are to slow in progression to really enjoy. Putting two hours in will not get you very far in those games and sometimes you want the feel of progression without a lot of your time wasted. That is where Cat Quest really excels in. They are essentially two games you go in rapid succession through main quests, side quests and dungeons all with a great charm to boot. The gameplay itself is real time instead of turn based and made me think more of a game like Bastion than other rpgs, which was unexpected but great. Honestly I know want more of these type of bite sized games. Short but still giving you the feeling that all the elements of a particle genre are still there. What I expected was two games with dumb silly cat puns and what I got was that and so much more.
Darghel
#131 Our Job's Done (Bug Fables) Difficulty: A bit difficult at the start, but gets easier later Time to Complete: 51 hours Recommended: Yes! Total score: 8/10 Was wondering about this game for a while, and finally got to play it at long last after several weeks of work that kept me busy from playing most things. I will be a bit nitpicky but I want to say right away, the game is very good, there's a lot of care put into it, and it's a game that I can easily recommend to anyone. Anyway, first things first, the feeling it gives is amazing: it really feels to be playing Paper Mario (pre Sticker Star that is) and it's a joy to the eye: the effects look just like paper and the graphics are simple, but very effective. The characters are also surprisingly well done even if very simple in both animations and details, but when it wants to show more animation it doesn't shy away. It knows when it needs more, and when it doesn't. There's also a lot of content to play with: besides the obvious ones like arena and such, you also get minigames, a lot of cooking recipes to do, card games, quests (a lot of them) and enough to keep you busy for many hours, and since there are no missables I was even more inclined to take my time instead of be careful on what i could be missing. So yeah a lot of stuff is good, but I can't stop thinking of my biggest issue with it: the start. At the start, the game is super slow, and I mean it: since it's taking from Paper Mario (like TTYD) you don't get more defense or damage from level ups, only hp, tp and mp. As you might have guessed medals is where its at, and where you get additional hp and abilities for each characters...the problem with this is that it takes FOREVER to get the useful medals that are actually fun to use, like Antlion Jaws or Hard Charge, or medals that add additional skills for your characters (which begs the question, why even make it a medal and not just...give it to them? It's not like you can give it to others). It took me nearly 20 hours (basically after chapter 3) to finally, FINALLY get medals that were worth experimenting, and that's when the game got really fun. Because finally I was doing more than 3 damage... And another nitpick is the minigames...I'm really not a fan of them. I don't hate them but I sincerely die a little inside when these games come out with these minigames, mainly because they are either "okay" or "frustrating as heck". I'm not expecting Yakuza levels of quality but I would have enjoyed a little less frustration. The Flabby Bird minigame was okay, but the Mite Knight one was a pain to get it right, and while the Card game is okay, I simply don't like any sort of TCG in any consistency. I really don't like card games but they always put them in! Urgh, at least it was only require for like, a medal or two. But really I'm just nitpicking at this point: the game is great. I had a good time and I love the characters, they are really enjoyable and they can have some good touching moments too when they want. It's clearly a game made with passion and I definitely recommend it, especially because there's no missable trophies at all (You can redo boss fights later, so you can technically do hard modes on those). Definitely recommended!

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #292: Fallout 4 Difficulty: 3/10 Excitement Rating: 7/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 75+ Hours Hardest Trophy: Benevolent Leader ( Reach Maximum Happiness in a Large Settlement ) Keeping this one brief, since it's been a little while since I got the platinum. Not my favorite Fallout game by any stretch. Had to force myself to play thru the story as I would argue it has the WORST story of all the Fallout titles (barring Fallout 76). You eventually meet four notable factions, each with their own goals in regards to how the Commonwealth should be handled. Fallout 4 isn't really a RPG as much as it is simply a looter shooter. Similarly, Assassin's Creed has turned into a fantasy based hack n slash open world franchise, instead of the trademark stealth and Assassin/Templar conflict it once represented. Gameplay mechanics were simply dumbed down and streamlined for Fallout 4, one to try to cater to more casuals. As somebody who loved the old Fallout games, this one was a big disappointment when it released. I left Fallout 4 on the shelves for years until I realized it was one of the games I had remaining when I started taking trophy hunting seriously. The platinum trophy took around 80 hours to get, with the DLC taking around 25 - 30 hours marking a total of 110 hours played to get everything. I spent a solid month playing this game for an average of three to four hours a day. This game wasn't all bad. Some locations were worth checking out, a couple story characters were interesting, some of the modifications for the various weapons were worth crafting. In terms of structure and delivery, Fallout New Vegas is still the best out of the newer Fallout games. I don't think anything can top Fallout 1 or Fallout 2 at this point, seeing that Bethesda is now under Microsoft. Maybe they can deliver a half decent Elder Scrolls sequel or a 'return to their roots' style Fallout game, but I'm not holding my breath. Overall, a pretty okayish experience. Nothing special. No masterpiece. Can't really recommend this game to the hardcore OG Fallout crowd. Casuals will get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. Here's to hoping Bethesda can improve and recover, but with where things have gone for them I'm not holding my breath on that one either. Popular Post EIdain
Platinum #75 - Genshin Impact The Path of Discovery - Very Rare: 9.64% It's been a while since I've posted in here. When I started this game late last summer, cause I thought it'd be a fun challenge, I didn't know what I was getting myself in for. 5 Months & 3 weeks later I've got it, my longest time spent grinding a single game for platinum. I'd finished every other trophy on this it's list bar one 3 months ago. The main reason it takes so long is due to the resin system which massively time gates the ability to build characters. And for Down we Go (III) you need 8 well built characters to clear the final floor of the game's end game content. I can't say I'd recommend this game to trophy hunters due to how long it takes. It's free to play though and you can clear all the game's content without spending a penny, despite it being a gatcha. The open world design & combat in particular are excellent.Enjoyment: 8/10Difficulty: 7/10Playtime: Just under 600 hours. I feel liberated now, looking forward to playing something new.

Darling Baphomet
#151 - 8-Bit Invaders (1.51%) Fun little RTS game I picked up for a few bucks a few years back. It's a nostalgic strategy game depicting the battle between a Zerg-like alien faction and space marines. Fantastic music, a bit content sparse though, especially since they expect you to buy the other games to play with their factions. It has a pretty fun co-op campaign too which I enjoyed playing with my friend, although there's one particular mission in it which is absolute hell to three star, mostly because of the console port's inadequacies. Even that was kind of fun to devise strategies to conquer, though. Probably not going on any of my 'best of' lists, but it was a fun game nonetheless. Also, the plat rarity / number lineup was completely accidental and is super cool.

Popular Post JoaLoft
#277 - Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Took a year to get this one done, but I finally decided to pick it up again after a year of inactivity. I'm glad to be done with the grind (see Most Frustrating Trophy). In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory you're experiencing the music of the Kingdom Hearts franchise through the concept of a music rhythm game. That means there's a lot of tracks to go through before you finish the entire collection: 150 in total, to be precise. They all have three different difficulties, and depending on what you choose, there will be more notes/beats to hit, masked as typical Kingdom Hearts enemies such as Heartless and Nobodies, while you try to successfully (i.e. not make too many mistakes) finish a song. For what it is, this was actually pretty fun. It speaks for itself that Kingdom Hearts fans will get much more enjoyment out of this, so I wouldn't recommend it to just any casual gamer. Most frustrating trophy - Enemy Buster Know what isn't fun? The "Enemy Buster" trophy. When you complete every song on every difficulty separately for another couple of trophies - meaning you'll have to play and finish 450 songs! - you'll end up at around 70.000 enemy kills. To get this trophy, you need a total of 100.000 kills spread across your entire playthrough. Meaning that at the end you'll need to grind another 30.000 kills to get the platinum. I ended up going for the "What Lies Beneath" song on the highest difficulty, yielding around 350 kills per 2-3 minutes. Still took me dozens of replays to get to 100.000. And it artificially lengthens the game, something I'm so fed up with in so many trophy lists. You want to make me beat the game on the highest difficulty? Fine. I love a challenge here and there. A speedrun? Sure! Testing efficiency can be innovative. But asking for another 30.000 kills when I already beat every song on every difficulty level? That's just downright wasting my time, making me play all the songs over again, because I'd "supposedly love your soundtracks so much that I'd want to play the whole thing twice"! The two things this annoying trophy has achieved, is that I never want to play this game again and that I developed slight PTSD whenever I hear "What Lies Beneath".
Popular Post RavenousOutsider
#28 What can I say except the fact I love this game? I played it way back on PS3 and I was always turned off by the difficulty trophies, but I can say with certainty that I'm glad I decided to pick this game up again. 1999 Mode was definitely frustrating in some areas of the game, especially if you're going for the kill-oriented, but definitely doable with patience and everything can be done in one playthrough, although I had to do in two since I missed quite a few collectibles. All in all, a great game and a plat if you're into story-oriented and FPS games!

Popular Post madbuk
#449 - A Plague Tale: Innocence What a shocking game - I went into this with pretty low expectations because I had seen brief samples of gameplay and it had reminded me heavily of The Last of Us, a game I really didn't enjoy. But enough have been raving about this and it was free on PS+ so I decided there would be no harm in at least giving it a try. I'm so glad I did, because I loved this - the story was definitely the highlight but the stealth gameplay and puzzles were pretty fun too, the game is only let down by its forced combat encounters imo, but thankfully those are few and far between. From start to finish I was completely engrossed in this story and that was something I definitely hadnt anticipated, and it was a bit of a refreshing change of pace from most of what I've been playing recently. If you're like me and initially just glanced at this and wrote it off (I had always intended to try it once it was 'free' tbf, just definitely not as soon as this), I'd say it's worth taking another look at. Even if you don't enjoy it, it's a very short plat anyway so it's not like you'll be having a miserable time for long. I can definitely see myself stacking this in the future if the PS4 version is ever cheap enough, although I'm a little more hesitant about whether or not I'll be playing the sequel. This game definitely didn't feel like it needed a sequel and I'm waiting to see if it brings anything new to the table or whether it'll just be a generic retread because this one was so popular.
