Popular Post its_ArchroniX
#50- Dark Souls Remastered - PS4 The Dark Soul All trophies obtained. Congratulations! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty (IMO): 7/10 Time: Probably around 50 hours Rarity: 8.8% Very Rare (PSN) / 27.83% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Been a fan of the Soulsborne games for a while but never completed one up until Bloodborne, but never a Dark Souls game. So I decided to give Dark Souls Remastered a go and boy what a pleasure it has been! Great game, great world, boss battles are truly iconic and the various ways to play this game (as in builds) is truly astounding! Some bosses proved quite a challenge (like Ornstein Smough for example) but even that didn't bring my mood down. I just LOVE Soulsborne games!!!! I would've probably finished this game a lot earlier if it wasn't for 2 items that bugged out on me and I had to play the game on NG+2 up until the Tomb of Giants (thanks for falling of the map Leeroy....). Overall a fantastic game and I was quite sad when I completed it. Very happy to have this as my 50th platinum trophy. A milestone, and a great one! #51- Hollow Knight - PS4 Heart of Hallownest Acquire all other trophies ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty (IMO): 8/10 Time: 43 hours, 18 minutes, 42 seconds Rarity: 1.4% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 9.31% Very Rare (PSNProfiles) Started playing this game when it became free with PS plus in November 2020. Absolutely loved the game! Great OST, beautiful artstyle and the Metroidvania styled gameplay got me hooked right away! It kinda felt like a Soulsborne platformer, if that makes sense. Played through a great portion of the game until I ended up at the final boss (not going to spoil its name). Quit the game then because I had other games I wanted to play and slowly Hollow Knight got out of sight. Until I got back into the game around 2 weeks ago or so and fell in love all over again. I was scared I had forgotten all about the controls but it turned out I didn't and I beat the boss in my very first try. Played through the rest of the game and did everything legit up until the toughest challenge, the "Pantheon of Hallownest". I considered myself a good player but I could NEVER beat 42 enhanced bosses without dying, no freaking way! Even if I had the patience to sit through that and learn their patterns I probably wouldn't be able to do it. So I used the invincibility glitch for that challenge/ trophy. I'm not ashamed of it, not at all. Incredible game to say the least that I could recommend to everyone! It provides a challenge but it's worth the trouble! It's a journey you're not going to forget, ever! Really stoked for Silksong! Edited May 13, 2022 by its_ArchroniX
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #230 Star Wars: Republic Commando One of the Squad Earn all trophies Been awhile (Guardians is tedious with that groot bs, eventually~). This has always been one of my favorite games. it's quite dated in a lot of ways now, I can't believe they didn't even modernize the control layout. You'll be aiming down the sights and you can't even melee out of it. It's toggle only... you can customize the controls, but it just seemed like a pain to try to think of how everything 'should' be to feel natural, especially with a jump that's basically not necessary to be there other than like one time. The transitions from (ingame) cutscenes to gameplay is very jarring thanks to load screens and no transition from one to the other. If it were made now it'd be more elegantly handled. The level design is a bit bland, but does the job. I just wish there were more options. Basically every firefight ends up going the same way. There may be a few moments where you get to set things up before the enemies show up, which are nice but far too few. You just walk in a room shooting, and make your way to cover and use the various stations for the team to snipe or throw grenades and keep pushing forward and you're done. Onto the next walking hallway and then another battle room. Not much variety. Music is amazing. Sat at the main menu awhile when I beat the game just to listen to the song. And the credits song was dope too. Art style is nice, it holds up well considering how old it is. It's still great to me though. The story is interesting, particularly the end portion. And the voice actors are all amazing for the commandos. Very distinct and showcase their personalities well. There just aren't enough games where you play as a squad and can give meaningful orders. And while there aren't that many orders to give, it's enough that it feels good to use and like you have some control over what they're doing rather than just having AI do whatever it wants. I did encounter a few glitches. Green guy got stuck in a corner and I had to kill and revive him like 4 times to fix it he kept walking into the corner and then floating in place. Sev one level, I think, died but it wasn't registering him as dead but his body was standing up in place and was teleporting around as I progressed. So I was one commando down that level, thankfully a load screen fixed that. Trophy icons are lame. I mean the plat one is okay I guess, and it's better than the podracing game's icons which are all the same. Popular Post Undead Wolf
#407 - Agarest: Generations of War Zero Platinum Trophy You've acquired all the trophies. This was quite the arduous task. Not sure how long I played this game exactly since there's no in-game timer, but it was in the ballpark of 200 hours. It took me just shy of 9 months to get the plat, but a lot of that was due to me acquiring a PS5 before I was done with the game, and then it was hard finding motivation to go back to it. I'm glad I eventually did come back to finish it off though because I really like this game. This is one of my first experiences with a proper tactical/strategy JRPG, similar to that of something like Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions or Disgaea from what i can tell. It was pretty overwhelming trying to grasp all the different game mechanics at first, but very rewarding once it clicked. One thing I think is really neat about this series is how the games are broken up into different generations. At the end of the first generation, you pick a lover based on the affection they have towards you, then it time skips forward to where you're now playing as the child they had together. Even changes their looks based on which heroine you picked. I just think the blend of a hard as nails strategy JRPG with a dating simulator is an awesome combination. Putting hot anime girls in your game that you can breed with is always a plus. ? So the majority of the plat is grinding as you would expect. The most tedious part was crafting all the weapons, armour, and accessories, especially as you got further down the list to the more complex stuff. Even just crafting one weapon could end up being a giant hassle, as I often missed a material from an earlier weapon, so then I would have to craft that one first but I'd be missing a different material to do that, and so on. This often went on for a while until I eventually found something in the long chain that I could craft or go farm enemy drops for. Times this by 251 since that's the number of weapons, armour, and accessories that can be crafted, and you can see why this would take a while. I literally spent like a whole week off work doing just this. ? That's not to say that the grind is the only challenge though, because there's some genuine test of skill and strategy in this game too. There are 2 post-game dungeons, and the second one is especially hard. There's a ton of bosses you need to defeat, and they can wipe your party out in no time, even when you have the best gear and maxed stats. I struggled for a while just to beat any of the last 7 or so, until I eventually found a strategy that worked for me. It still required a lot of concentration though! ? Feels good to finally get this done since it's been hanging over me for a while. Already started working on Agarest: Generation of War 2! ? JourneySilvers
Wytchwood ~~~ Platinum Potion ~~~ This game is such a great indie experience. I picked this up in a sale a while back, finally got around to trying it last Friday night. Ended up absolutely addicted and played it the entirety of Saturday (and a bit of the next morning) and finished it up. Its only around ~10 hours and the platinum is guaranteed so long as you beat the game. Running around, foraging for ingredients, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and crafting the solutions to the stories problems was a blast for me. I almost got a bit tired of having to run back through areas to collect ingredients every time I picked up a new mission, except for the fact that the game is so beautiful I ended up just vibing and enjoying the whole thing. The writing is also pretty funny as well. Totally recommend this if you want a short indie, an easy platinum, and if you enjoy the idea of an adventure\crafting game.
Popular Post Mipsy
#15: Xuan-Yuan Sword VII (PS4) ** Played on a PS5 via PS4 BC ** Thankful, am I, for the ever-increasing deluge of Western localizations, once prior unsent. The Taiwanese RPG Xuan-Yuan Sword franchise stayed landlocked in Asian languages until 7 broke through, on Steam, among the mainline entries. Kindly, 7 trickled over to PS also, whereupon it met understandably little fanfare - despite beginning in 1990, none of the games had crossed the Pacific as noted, and beginning with the 7th entry in a franchise (unless it stars a spiky-headed chap with a Buster Sword) spells "uncertain reluctance" for many. Furthermore, despite over 5,000 reviews on Steam, scarce little guidance for XY7 has seeped into English avail. To slightly rectify that opacity, I'll reflect upon my ~27 hours with it, from opening to platting. XY7 begins in the deep past, as perhaps befits the first localized mainline Xuan Yuan. Rapidly, however, the plot hurtles into its present age, that of the Xin Dynasty, 9-23 AD (CE), which predates the popularized Three Kingdoms (of Dynasty Warriors) by a few centuries. Our protag, the steadfast and composed Taishi Zhao, seeks only a placid mountaintop existence beside his young sister Taishi Xiang. An organized military campaign interrupts this duo, to say the least, and once again, rapidly Zhao hurtles into a string of incidents which span from tactical to supernatural. The game stays much more grounded in tone than might be expected, even with its inclusion of a few fantastical powers, and I sorely appreciated 7's adherence to careful, straightforward storytelling. Since the game follows mostly linear zones, the plots remain focused and un-obtuse. Once our playable band becomes a trio, their sensible character interactions utilize both their strengths and their flaws. It was a real treat traversing the fetching midlands of ancient China with Zhao, Xiang, and their third companion. ^.^ I'll look back on them with fondness, for sure. Gameplay kinda reminds me of the PS2 era, dolled up in an 8th-gen engine. Think, hmm, Onimusha with a zip? Zhao can ably slash, evade, and block to counter most standard foes. Weapons, armor, and accessories can be purchased, crafted, or enhanced. A nifty (if sleepy) scroll art allows Zhao to capture weakened enemy souls, including both monster /and/ human - damn, talk about impartial. o3o Said souls can forge additional spirits that benefit the party in any number of fashions, from stat boosts and status protection to health regen and crit rate. I particularly liked the shoulder-activated skills for each combatant; for Zhao himself, Tiger Stance's swift air-kick proved great fun, although Bear Stance's spacing / crowd control wound up more vital against swarms of foes. As you can see, XY7 lays somewhat heavily into the 'RPG' component of an action RPG. Against stout bosses, all of these assorted enhancements -will- come in handy; what few impede Zhao tend -not- to mess around. (One late game boss lays on BS real thick, to my supreme annoyance. -.-) Outside of combat, it's kind of nice to overhear villagers' chatter or sit down for a cozy round of Zhuolu chess - hardly a chess-alike at all, yet by far one of the most enjoyable minigames that I've played outside of stalwarts like Final Fantasy and Yakuza. Visuals look sharp on the main cast and primary players, plus some of the water and mystical effects, but don't expect a lot from secondary models, nor from the game's uneven draw distance. The game's audio conversely tends to satisfy at nearly all angles. Chinese voice acting may require more adjustment than by-now familiar Japanese voiceover, yet its sharper tones and syllables suit the struggle against both the Lijun army and the Blackflame miasma. In particular, Zhao's and Xiang's more pleasant voices contrast skillfully with the calm yet foreboding speeches of General Mo Huang. *One* semi-essential character, however, maddeningly screeches like a choking lark, and I could've entirely gone without that arse. o.x The soundtrack managed to impress me somewhat, with its artful (if quite restrained) mixture of traditional Chinese instrumentation with more routine symphonic flares. Kudos for the heartwarming reprise of the game's primary motif, after the tale's end. ^.^ Xuan Yuan 7 indeed makes a fine impression in several facets, makes a fine impression indeed. Bites, then, that it's gotta be a pain in the neck at times. =\ For a veteran studio, Softstar...incorporated questionable, baffling decisions, sprinkled throughout. Fast travel operates more like The Witcher 3's than Skyrim's, but unlike in TW3, travel poles in XY7 come both very far between and *often* far off the desired route. Since the game's continual upgrades necessitate semi-frequent trips to a merchant or takedowns of a specific foe, hopping around the otherwise-linear game world slows considerably. Zhao can't jump by button, either, and for a 2020 release, yeah, that mildly gobsmacks me. I would've scrapped the "trendy" arbitrary handholds for a dedicated jump command. Take it from Neptunia: everybody loves jumpin'. Maps are disabled in dungeons, which wouldn't be so painful if half of them weren't scarily convoluted. Here, especially, a dedicated jump command would've solved that issue damn near by itself. >:| It annoys Zas when my dude can't hop over a bar of scrap metal, just because. Finally, right at endgame, XY7 drops a couple whammies: Spoiler Take it from me: bring Burn protection (or, fuck, Burn absorption) into the final stretch. Otherwise you're looking at widespread needless pain. Oh, and the game's semi-playable Epilogue needed...either to remove its interactivity, or to remove itself entirely. Yuck. Holy crap, did that supremely annoy outta nowhere, doubly so since it requires a couple ventures *back into* said unmapped dungeons...which house sparse rest/save points...aaand spring ambushes that can handily murder ya, even though you've taken down the final bosses. I seriously, seriously don't grasp the rationale behind the Epilogue's design. Wow did it piss me off. Took much of the wind out of what should have been a wholly pleasing conclusion. The game's 44 trophies shouldn't overly trouble anybody, but take heed: damn near all completionist info about this game exists in Chinese guidance only. Little is useful on Steam outside of the game's native-language posts, and very few YouTube / nonverbal sources emerged for English - in large part, due to the game's pittance of PS players. It's sitting at a scant 238 N.A. PSNP players, at time of posting. As such, keep multiple save files, and play with eyes open for crafting materials, new foes (for new souls), and side quests for journal log entries. Of note, the game's bonfire chats might have a few missable amongst their lot. My advice is thus: chat with everyone available, keeping abreast of whether the game enables the Circle button to skip dialogue. If not, then you're viewing a /new/ chat. Gotta hear all chats to obtain Seen It All. As for other collectables...I didn't actually craft all armor/weapons, nor take down 7's pair of optional superbosses. Fairly sure that a routine playthrough will unlock all 'collectable' trophies - but if reluctant, best to wait for any measure of a guide. *nod* Zassy's PS4-on-PS5 BC Report: No issues, no hiccups, no troubles whatsoever, huzzah! \o/ Load times decreased, but not drastically so. That seems to be the case for a notable number of PS4 titles, in my limited experience. The game looks more or less equivalent on each console, graphically. Xuan Yuan 7 is a partial enigma, for platinum pursuers, owing partially to its comparatively smaller English playerbase. I would not dismiss anyone for awaiting sturdier guidance, nor would I roundly implore passersby to rush to the PSN storefront or their nearest VG merchant to snatch it up. Do I regret XY7? Heck nah. Actually, I'm pleased that I trod nimbly, with only limited input, to obtain its platinum trophy. I genuinely appreciated its straightforwardness, its core trio, its soundtrack, its minigame - there're sure facets to cherish. ^.^ Just be aware: it isn't notably outstanding, superior, awesome - it has a more tempered aim, more modest goals, for a 20-30 hr. VG. It may not ever catch on outside its home region. Glad I took the swipe tho'.

Popular Post Ghost
Great game from HouseMarque and it was pretty addictive. Fun bosses and cool weapons. Trophy list is okay and the collectible run is the worst due to it's roguelike and shifting world. There was times I was falling asleep trying to look for that last collectible, especially in Biome 2 (Crimson Wastes). I'm glad I left the DLC for last instead of the collectible run. Returnal: Ascension which is a free DLC was really fun.

Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #352 Bastion (PS4) You Done Good Earn all other Trophies. Bastion has now joined a long list, one that will probably continue to grow too, – a list that is so long that if it were written on real paper, you’d probably have to roll it up, like a scroll. What is that list, you ask? It is the list of games I really regret not starting sooner (some of you might have heard that one once or twice from me,) because of how awesome they turned out to be. Not the catchiest of titles for a list I’ll grant you. I have now played two out of four of the games from Supergiant games, and I have yet to be disappointed. Nor do I think I’m likely to become disappointed once I play the others. Time will tell, but this might end up being a fun statement to look back on. Bastion, originally released in 2011, then later in 2015 for the Playstation 4 and Vita is an Action RPG and the first video game released by excellent development team Supergiant games. The basic premise is this – you, The Kid are thrust into a world that has been devastated by a catastrophic event called “The Calamity.” Your task? Rebuild The Bastion, and put a stop to “The Calamity.” I realise that is a ridiculously basic description, but this is a game world where I think you should know as little of the details going into it as possible to get the most enjoyable experience. Discovering the interesting character revelations, or gaining knowledge of the events leading up to the time and situation where the game takes place was an element of the game that felt particularly illuminating, and enjoyable. The way the game tells its narrative has an amazing way of almost stopping you in your tracks midway through combat (which can be very frenetic and intense) as you pick up a specific piece of dialogue, suddenly realising that NOW is the time to listen. World building is an element that in my experience, Supergiant seems to be able to excel at particularly. Bastion itself has this fascinating balance of a charming visual aesthetic, but an incredibly rich, dark and very deep world bubbling away beneath the surface, just waiting to drag you underneath. Something that Bastion achieves incredibly well is synergy, how almost every component of the game feels perfect for the vision that the developers had in mind. For example, more often than not you’ll find that the original soundtrack provided for a location will marry together magnificently with the visual design of the area. In an interesting twist on the “silent protagonist” trope, your entire playthrough is narrated by one of the characters you interact with most often over the course of the game, Rucks. For me this is one of the very best aspects of the game – yet ironically, it’s also one that had it not worked as well as it does – then the game would have really suffered for it. Rucks dialogue is written in such an interesting way that if it was delivered by anyone but Logan Cunningham, I truly believe it might not have worked quite so well. In a sense his dialogue reminds me of Johnny Cash, but not just any Johnny Cash, the talking Coyote from The Simpsons episode where Homer eats an outrageously spicy Chilli, mixed with a little bit of Tom Waits. It’s the way his voice floats in and out as you’re playing, taking the role of both guide, and storyteller, yet also quite friendly and warm, even when retelling horrific events. If you’re familiar with the films of Jim Jarmusch, then much of Bastion’s dialogue will feel astonishingly familiar, I expect. Rucks has an absolutely effortless cool factor to him. It’s really impressive how his line readings manage to bring so much depth and life to characters that have either no spoken dialogue, or very little. I think when something as innocuous as a weapon description, or a little piece of flavour dialogue about completing a Vigil (side-quest) can be as compelling as it is here, then that mixture of writing and sound design came together almost perfectly. I’ve always been one that will talk up some excellent sound design in a video game, and that is no exception here. It might not be important to some, but it really can enhance the experience. I seem to be talking about marriage a whole lot in this review, but my goodness, the sound mix in this game is superb. This one must have been a real tight-rope walk for the individual in charge of the mix, because there was no time where I found the various sounds cancelling each other out, like I have in a few games I’ve played recently. The original soundtrack provided by Darren Korb is spectacular. You could listen to it in a vacuum without ever having played the game, and have some fantastic music to listen to. There are elements that are soothing, relaxing, unsettling and sorrowful. Yet, the way it seems to tonally fit EVERY single situation of the game is brilliant. As someone who played Transistor before any other Supergiant game, it was a real treat to hear Ashley Barrett’s voice on a few tracks, much like Emiko Evans can, I feel she can enhance a piece of music with just her voice alone. Earlier, I mentioned something about this game giving you an initial impression of something, until you delve beneath the surface a little bit to find something deeper. Well, I must say – on the surface, the gameplay of Bastion looks simplistic, yet the more you delve into it, the more you find that isn’t the case at all. If you take trophies out of the equation entirely, Bastion offers you the chance to modify the difficulty to your liking, granting you extra resources as a reward, almost in a risk and reward type fashion. The trophies dictate that you explore this a little bit, but the in-game idols that add certain buffs to enemies, or de-buffs to you can really help to keep the game feeling fresh. The thing that I quite honestly, never for a moment expected from Bastion’s gameplay was how much depth it actually has. It’s got a truly impressive versatility to it. Yes, on the surface it amounts to – two weapons available to you and one special attack, with one button mapped to each weapon, and R2 as your special attack. There’s so much more to it than that, and the amount of versatility that is truly on offer is quite something. You eventually have access to eleven weird and wonderful weapons in Bastion. Eleven might seem like a few, but they have so many variable ways of enhancing and upgrading them, that each weapon can essentially work two separate ways, depending on how you choose to utilise them. Bastion also greatly encourages exploration, as thorough searches of the individual levels often yield all manner of weapon upgrades and interesting items. Even small things like Memento’s you can find, often add extra wrinkles, onto the rich tapestry that is woven within Bastion’s fine tapestry of lore. Thankfully, Bastion doesn’t fall into the trap a lot of titles do, of having one “all powerful” weapon that can destroy anything.. Every single weapon in the game is a viable option, and you’re completely free to choose whatever play-style fits you best. It does have powerful weapon combinations of course, and ones that synergise better with others – but in essence that choice is yours. I found experimenting with the different weapons at The Kid’s disposal to be one of the most rewarding experiences in the game. Experimentation was one of the things I found most fulfilling for beating the Dreams with all ten idols invoked (a Survival type level, where you fight waves of increasingly harder enemies). I was too stubborn to grind for levels to give myself an edge, so I attempted these at level 6, and basically turned myself into a glass cannon, yet there is a whole host of other possibilities depending on your own specific playstyle. If you couldn’t guess by the fact I pretty much had nothing negative to say about it, I absolutely recommend this one, don’t sleep on it like I did. I really thought the game was fantastic, and as you’re only likely to spend fifteen hours with it at most, I found there was pretty much nothing that outstayed its welcome. The trophy hunting side of the game also requires you to explore almost everything that the game has to an offer, something that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Popular Post MarcusPunisher
Platinum #166 - Ghostwire: Tokyo 31.07% - Uncommon I wanted to love this game, I really did. It was one of my anticipated game for this year. Ever since I saw the reveal, I thought that this looked really cool and interesting. It's not a bad game, it is a solid game, but at the end, I am very disappointed for what could have been a great game. The game excels in its opening. It has a very exciting premise right from the get-go and it keeps that momentum for a while. That momentum is shown with the introduction of the unique attacks and spells that the main character can do after he gets possessed. Those abilities are a lot of fun at the beginning. The biggest pro also lies in the environment of Tokyo and how you can explore. Since everyone got Thanos snapped, Tokyo is pretty much desolated with only cats and dogs remaining, which yeah, you can totally pet and I did that many times. The game succeeds with that initial introduction with how the mystery is set up and what to do to find the bad guy. They also did a great job in some of the interior sections where it plays a section straight out of Inception, which was probably the highlight for me. the photo mode is also a lot of fun to spend some time. What disappoints me the most is that the more the story went on, the more it seemed like it dragged with no real development and when I got to the last boss, that was it. Sure, there were moments where fighting a certain boss triggered a response from one of the main characters, but that was further bugged down by the poor development. The main character feels very static for the most part with his only motivation being saving his sister who just serves as a magical plot device. I played the prelude story that was supposed to introduce the main team of characters and I still was not invested at all. When an emotional moment happened with a character disappearing forever, I just wasn't invested given how poorly developed they all were, aside of basic motivation. This was not helped by the combat that also got very repetitive, despite how unique the mechanics felt, they all basically boiled down to pistol, shotgun, bow, and rocket launcher, plus extra items. There wasn't much in terms of variety and the combat felt stiff through the game without any chance of major upgrading or strategy. Even the bosses, while not terrible felt rather basic and one sneaking section had me repeat a process from the same spot without getting into any great danger. The road to platinum was rather simple, yet frustrating at points. The nice thing was completing all the side quests where you can learn about various Japanese folklores, which is definitely a nice treat for those that are interested in this. There are 123 physical artifacts to collect, which is not as bad on first glance, as you naturally encounter at least half and the actively search for the rest. Plus, the cats will always make this adorable "meow" everytime you collect one for them. The collectables also require, music tracks, food, folders, audiotapes, and outfits, which some look pretty neat, but I wish there was more. What will make for the most frustrating task are the spirit souls. There are over 220, 000 you need to collect in these spirit clouds, and they vary in giving you 100 or the rarest give you 750 souls. You need to collect all across the map and transfer them through a phone. This will take most of the time and probably be your last trophy. Overall, I still enjoyed my time with the game, but I would honestly recommend it only on sale. It has really cool ideas that just need to be expanded. Add more combat variety, enemies, better plot with more defined characters, plus few more expanded tasks for the exploration, and you could have a great game. Something must have happened when Ikumi Nakamura abruptly left the project and that left the game in a rather unrealized state. I do hope for a potential sequel, cause there is a solid foundation you can build on, but I also want a sequel to Evil Within 2. The game just didn't live up to all the potential and expectations that it could surpassed. I am not mad or angry like with the last game, I'm just disappointed. The cats are still cute dammit.
Popular Post Yukiko Miyamoto
#235 Vampire the masquerade: bloodhunt Actually a fun game if you don't count the decent players . Basically if you have all the weapon trophies you don't really need to do anything else . Difficulty: 7/10 Grind: 7/10 Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Estimated time: 1 week (without boosting) #236 Space invasion Actually a bit difficult with the Vita controls . Basically kill all the enemies above while also keeping the mini ball alive. Luckily if you set it to Easy you get unlimited attempts. Difficulty: 4/10 Grind: no grind Enjoyment: 2/10 Estimated time: 2 hours Edited May 12, 2022 by gamercris066

Popular Post nestamar5
Neptunia Virtual Stars We're Virtual Stars! Trophy Rarity: 29.40% You've gotten all trophies! Don't forget to like and subscribe! Neptunia Virtual Stars, also called VVVTune, is the 10th anniversary game of the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise. It's an action RPG, and I think it's an odd decision for an anniversary gams, e. You would think that we would've gotten a mainline JRPG for the 10th anniversary instead of a spin-off, but the franchise has been in spin-off hell ever since Megadimension Neptunia released in 2015. I don't think it's nearly as good as Cyberdimension Neptunia, but this one is ok. It's not bad but it's not great either. The goddesses of Gamindustri, Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert are suddenly teleported to Virtualand, a digital world, while trying to play a new game. They learn that planet Emote faces extinction from the Antis, a group of Content destroyers. They team up with Vtubers Me, You, Vice, and Licht to stop them and save other Vtubers. This game features real Vtubers, although most of them only appear as cameos/support roles. Towa Kiseki and pioneering Vtuber Kizuna AI are playable DLC characters. This game doesn't play like other Neptunia games, with the closest being Cyberdimension. The Vtubers' gameplay style is a pretty basic hack 'n slash, I only used them when I need to make an extra long jump or got a little too careless with the goddesses. The goddesses play like a third person shooter, which was a breath of fresh air for the first couple of hours. They can boost through the stage, which is useful if you need to move through the level quickly or strafe around enemies. The game plays competently, with the only frame drops I noticed being in BeatTik, a rhythm minigame you play to get a highscore and increase your rank. Recorded videos can be used to create items, but I didn't use this very much during my playthrough. I didn't encounter any glitches during my playthrough. I played this game on a PS4 Pro. Unfortunately, because this game is so middle of the road to me, I found it a little boring after several hours. The story is so predictable once everyone is introduced, I fell asleep during some of these cutscenes or left to do something else. While I do like the new level themes/references, the layout's lack attention getters make it easy to get lost without constantly using the map. I think the UI can get slightly too cluttered for a third person shooter with fast paced action too. There's plenty of times I was hit on the left side, the same side with the character, comments, log, and map filling up especially when zoomed in which is similar to aiming in other shooters. It's fine for the hack n' slash characters. The game is very easy complete. I only had trouble starting with the third level because I didn't upgrade my V-Cubes (equipment). Once I started upgrading my equipment, I mowed down enemies through the entire game. Only the bosses put up actual fights and that's because they're glorified punching bags. They're big and easy to dodge, so even when I was doing pitiful damage to them it was only a matter of time when they went down. There are no missable trophies, extra playthroughs, or multiple endings. This game can be platinumed in about 15-20 hours even if you don't know what you're doing. If the gameplay looks interesting to you, go ahead and get it. If you're a fan of Neptunia, I would either skip or get it at a cheap price. A crossover between Neptunia and Vtubers is a great concept, and while the execution could've been a lot better, I wouldn't call it botched either.
Popular Post x7251
#63 - Resistance Burning Skies One of the easiest platinums I have ever gotten. I wanted to get this done before a possible server shutdown, so I have a chance to complete the Resistance series.
