da-Noob123
Finished off Hitman 3 and nabbed it's platinum: World of Assassination last night. I really enjoyed Hitman 2 and 3, great games with fun challenges to complete and engaging gameplay. I'm debating on whether or not I should get the first one and 100% it so I have the whole trilogy completed.
Popular Post Biertje373
Platinum #57 Control: Ultimate Edition Director of the FBC Unlock all other trophies Dificulty: 3/10 Fun: 7.5/10 Sadly don't know the time as there's no ingame timers (as far as I'm aware and I left the game in the home screen for a few hours more then once. When I got my PS+ again after years of not having it this was the first game I got with it and I was interested back in the day but I never got to it, now early this month I had decided that I wanted to play this game and I am glad that I did. While I am a bit more mixed about the game, it is a good game. As always time for the positives and negatives about this game, starting with the positives: + The guns are really fun, most of the games have gun that I would dislike, but while I still use some guns more then others, they're all great. + Jesse is a nice main character, really like her. + Exploring the place was mostly fun. + The DLC was good. + Loved that ending and a few of the bosses. +Fun skill tree. The lesser things about this game: - I find the OST very forgettable, aside from one theme I don't remember anything. - Disliked most Board Countermeasures. - One area is a huge pain to explore, always get lost. - Didn't really care about most of the sidequests, there's one that I loved, which was part of the first DLC. There's probably more that I could say that I (dis)like about this game, but the game is good. I personally don't need a second game, but if it happens I'll be excited. And here's the platinum screenshot, nothing special, but hey not every one of them can be amazing:
Popular Post Trancexistence
#6 - Slayaway Camp This is a great sliding block puzzle game heavily influenced by 80's slasher movies (Friday The 13th series in particular) in which you have to dispatch all the victims in a given stage to unlock the exit. Doing so awards you with coins which can then be used to unlock skins and kill animations. Some levels need to be done within a certain number of moves whilst others require you to stop victims from escaping which add variety to proceedings. Really good fun. Recommended if you're a fan of slasher movies like me or just horror movies in general. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10
Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #355 Pool Nation (PS4) Pool Master You have mastered Pool Nation Before we really get into this review, I feel as if it is important to say that I’m actually quite fond of this game, even if I might seem a little overly critical of it. There’s a really great game here, but I’m not sure that through the act of trophy hunting you really see all that much of that side of it, and I think that’s a real shame. That being said – let us dive into Pool Nation for the PS4 a little bit. I suspect this won’t be a particularly long review, as whilst it is an entirely different game to the PS3 game of the same name, it does share similarities. So I’ll leave a link to that if you haven’t read it and are interested in the finer details of how realistic the physics feel and the like. Both games are made by the same developer, so more than a little cross over is also present. Pool Nation for the PS4, was developed by Cherry Pop games, and released in July of 2019, suspiciously close to the release window of Snooker 19. I always suspected the release around this time was to capitalise on as many eyes being firmly back on cue sports video games as possible. This isn’t a criticism at all; it’s a perfectly good idea from a business standpoint. I’ll start with the positives, because I always like to expand upon those when possible. Pool Nation on the PS4, plays phenomenally, the physics are smooth, they’re fast and most importantly – they are incredibly responsive too. Mercifully I think they’re incredibly accommodating for new players. They possess what appears to be a steep learning curve, until you get a feel with how much power you can, or in some cases, can’t inject into every shot. When you think of a video game based on Pool, the look isn’t something that you think of as particularly important. Not everything looks great, but I’ll get to that shortly. Certainly you could argue that’s true, that visuals are not even a secondary concern – but Cherry Pop Games went above and beyond to create some gorgeous looking locales in this game. I’m not quite sure that they wholeheartedly represent the locations that they are based on, but without delving into the realms of stereotype, that would have been difficult to achieve anyway. They certainly add character, and I can appreciate that. Pool Nation also offers the player a rather diverse set of cosmetic customisation options. It’s not just a few either, there’s a lot to choose from, whether it’s specific decals for balls, cloths for the tables or cue designs, there really is a lot to choose from. Sound is also something that isn’t overwhelmingly important in a game like this, yet I can appreciate the fact they were made fairly well. The sound effects themselves are really satisfying, whether that’s just the cacophonous thud as a ball careers into a pocket, or the collision of two balls (keep your minds out of the gutter please haha) they all sound satisfyingly like they should. There is a smattering of soundtrack; it’s not quite muzak like it is in Pure Pool, because some of the pieces you hear in Endurance mode for example are surprisingly funky. One of my personal favourite things about Pool Nation is the fact the game allows you to play shots that are certainly feasible in real life. But ones you’d never likely play because of the extreme risk factor involved. If you’re big into cue sports like I am, then you’ll find this part of the experience incredibly satisfying, and most importantly, fun. That’s something that can’t be overstated enough, is how fun this actually can be to play. I’ll reiterate my point in the opening paragraph, what was a negative for me, wouldn’t necessarily be for anyone else. So let’s talk about those a bit. I wanted more from this. Don’t misunderstand that as the game needing more content, it actually has plenty. The thing is – the game, and I suppose by default, the trophy list, doesn’t really ever expect you to play all too much of it, and I think that’s a real shame. I’m not of the opinion that difficulty equals quality, not at all. However, Pool Nation on PS3’s requirements were difficult but fair, what that difficulty allowed for though – was almost complete mastery of the games controls, and the satisfaction that comes part and parcel with that. I expected to spend a while trying to get the Endurance mode content finished. I spent hours and hours attempting that on Pool Nation (PS3). In this game, I got that entire game modes related trophies on my first attempt, even without the aiming aid, just because of how much easier they had made it. If Pool Nation for PS4 had required the player to gain all available Stars (set challenges within each match) in the career modes for example, you’d have had a much longer single player experience. I can, and I probably will go back and get all of those stars, because the game is just so enjoyable to play. From my perspective, I felt like it was a shame that the single player side of the game was so fleeting. One genuinely offensive negative feature of Pool Nation for the PS4 is the user interface. It is equal parts obtuse and ugly. I felt like it was incredibly poorly optimised for consoles, which was a real shame. There were a few times where the menus are so confusing that you can’t quite grasp exactly how to even change certain settings. I could see it working perfectly well with a mouse, but on a controller it’s finicky to say the least I don’t think it’s truly fair to call the online part of the game a negative aspect. From an ideas perspective it is great. I love the idea of the leagues. The idea is sound, that you only get matched with players at your specific skill level. You perform well you’re promoted, you lose a lot, you’re relegated to a lower league. Simple, but it would work, if it was well populated, so perhaps it was a case of over ambition on Cherry Pop Games part. The problem is, from what I understand the online presence for this game was almost dead on arrival, so when Baker and I came to attempt this; it really was like a ghost town. In the ten or so hours we played the game together, I don’t think we encountered more than one player that was playing the league mode like we were. We also encountered a weird little problem where the game wasn’t counting certain wins that I was getting, which resulted in us having to restart completely from scratch. We did eventually figure out that it was something to do with who was hosting the match. But I felt so bad; luckily Baker is a real awesome gentleman, so he didn’t hold me responsible. Now here’s the burning question. Would I recommend Pool Nation for PS4? I think on paper I would. It’s certainly one of the best Pool games available on PS4, and doesn’t have crushingly frustrating A.I players in it like Pure Pool does. I genuinely think it’s a great Pool game, I just wish there was a little more to it, because what there is really is rather good. I also think, aside from it having a lot of online trophies (that you’re practically forced into boosting now) that it’s a pretty great first entry for someone looking for their first Pool game. As, to be perfectly honest, it’s incredibly fun, and you’re able to essentially learn as you play, which really helps. Popular Post PhantomWarcry
#183 & 184 - South Park: Stick of Truth & Fractured But Whole (PS4) Stick of Truth was one of my first plats on PS3 (#6) and one of my last before really getting serious into trophy hunting that fall of 2014. I always wanted to try Fractured but not enough to go out of my way for it since I didn't really care for the superhero episodes of South Park. Additionally I kind of expected the game to be rather short since Stick was. Seeing them on the new Plus was enough for me to make them my first two plats on the new system and overall I enjoyed them both. Stick of Truth - As a replay, I figured this would be fairly straightforward, but I forgot how many missables there were, considering I played it in 2014, eight years ago. The game's still fun but a little simplistic. I also screwed myself out of money for the Hasselhoff nose job trophy by trying to buy all the equipment early, but I was able to reload a save after getting all equipment and selling off everything that I didn't need. A lot of the jokes feel a little more like going for the obvious punchline than funny, but overall it was a good time. Aside from tracking the missables, nothing in the game is difficult. Fractured But Whole - Like I said I didn't care for the superhero episodes of South Park, mostly because it made Kenny a far less humorous character and I think he works best as a punchline. I always get annoyed whenever comedy series try to have serious episodes, although South Park's pulled it off a few times, the Coon saga just wasn't one of them. But about the game, the combat system is far more interesting than Stick and the class system allows for more experimentation. There's no real bad party members and you can pretty much make any combo work, even on the hardest difficulty which is necessary for a trophy. The game isn't even that hard going for that trophy and there's no missables to worry about other than that. It is short but I think that works to its favor. Overall I ended up enjoying it more than Stick, although I think both games are worth checking out. DLC is not required for trophies but I think I'm going to get them anyway, although I expect them to be on the short side. Went out of my way to check out Phone Destroyer, turns out it's on its last update and I didn't find the game particularly fun anyway. I hope they'll give the console series another entry though, and I'm shocked they haven't done the ninja weapons episode as a game. I suppose it was only one episode, but I think that gives them more areas to expand on, and it ties in nicely with the theme of kids playing pretend. Popular Post Vrisnem
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Completionist 40th plat - and on one of my favourite game franchises as well. ? Not everyone's cup of tea. You either like the direction this series went in or you don't. I really enjoyed DW9 but think I actually prefer DW9:E over it. I feel it has more replay value. There was something really satisfying about finally figuring out how to succeed at the game at higher difficulties although the journey there was frustrating as hell. Part of the fun in the Empires games for me lies in the fact I'm writing a military fantasy series: I like to create my story characters in the game and watch how it plays out. It's a great solution for writers block. I had a great laugh earlier today when an incompetent foot soldier from book 2 mowed down the series protagonist like he was nothing in the very first battle of the campaign. ? I expect that DW10 will still be a couple of years away yet, so I will probably replay this one on PS4 in the meantime.
Popular Post Phlegeth
#63 The N. Credible Crash Bandicoot! Collect all the Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back trophies. I put this off cause the Gems for Cold Hard Crash and Piston It Away looked like a pain. But they weren't too bad. Time Trials weren't too bad either. Except for Hanging Out. That just wasn't fun. That tunnel at the start of the level is some bullshit and the hitbox of the spikey things. I think it's worse than The High Road. The High Road time was tight and really tested you, but it never really felt unfair. Hanging Out on the other hand, you have to pray everything lines up.
Popular Post StraightVege
Odallus #288 (5th Fastest Achiever - 3 days, 22 hours) 4.92% Ultra Rare Joymasher's oddly titled action-platformer is a serviceable harkening back to classics like Demon's Crest and Castlevania, yet lacks some of the polish and modernization I've come to expect from contemporary retro style games. It was also substantially more difficult to platinum than I had anticipated—several notches beyond what I prefer, in fact—making it more stressful than fun for me, unfortunately. The game is structured in a manner rarely seen in today's 2D action fare: you select from unlocked levels on an overworld map, then hunt for relics which grant new abilities necessary to progress, find secret character upgrades (such as health fragments), and ultimately defeat the local boss. In the process, you'll open permanent shortcuts, that persist even after exhausting your lives and continuing. I actually quite enjoyed this approach, since it allows so much flexibility in how you tackle challenges. If a boss feels too hard at the moment, simply return to older areas and seek out an upgrade or two, then take that newly functioning elevator right back to your adversary for another attempt, stronger this time. Revisiting levels with a souped-up hero was very satisfying. Other design choices drove me bonkers, however. Why are there two massive HUD elements on either side of the screen, taking up space and obscuring threats? Why won't your character grab ledges consistently, instead of humping them half the time? Why implement a lives system that adds basically nothing to the game, other than tedious run-backs? Why are some boss hitboxes blatantly inconsistent? Some of this feels like archaism just for the sake of retro authenticity, and I usually detest that. After I finish Oniken (which came bundled with Odallus), I doubt I'll purchase another Joymasher title. While it's certainly not bad overall, Odallus didn't quite do it for me. Besides, at this stage of my life, do I really need to be shouting at my screen and getting thumb blisters? I must admit that finally succeeding did feel good, though! In the event somebody wants to go after this one, I left some advice here:

Popular Post DEI2EK
I've gotten two plats in the last week, neither game I really enjoyed that much. My 75th platinum goes to Nickelodeon All Star Brawl As someone who grew up with Nick this was a lot of nostalgia, but the game itself wasn't very fun At least it was short #76 is Jump Force I did this game because it was going to be shut down soon, and I'm glad I sort of focused on it as a side game because the game itself was very unfun, story was awful and even though there was tons of characters nothing happens. At least its done and it's another UR plat for me Now that I'm done with these two, I'm finally going to start Metal Gear Solid like i've been wanting to for years. Going to start 1 either tonight or tomorrow I think, then work my way through the series trying to plat them all.
Popular Post BlitzkriegHottie
Keep rollin' rollin' rolin' rollin' Landslide Simulator Prince of Prince Rarity: 13.63 Katamari has always been one of my favorite franchises and its so great to see at least one of the games ported to newer consoles. Now here's hoping We Katamari, Beautiful Katamari and even Katamari Forever get ported as well. Needless to say that's never going to happen since if a game doesn't make a trillion dollars it's deemed "not profitable" by publishers and not worth the investors' risk. Bummer. Anyways, I enthusiastically recommend this bizarre gem from an era where originality was seen as artistic and praiseworthy by publishers and investors instead of just "risky business" and when gamers were more willing to try new things, as weird as they were. The game is addictive, featuring an even more addictive soundtrack as well as being extremely colorful and relaxing, making it the ultimate feel good game in my patrician opinion. My one and only complaint would be that it ends much too soon. Platinum wise most of it is just beating the game. In fact, only one trophy requires you to do something other than just beating the levels: the dreaded "King of Katamari Damacy" which requires you to collect every single one of the whopping 1400+ items. This is quite the task that I wasn't prepared for and proved to be quite the frustrating experience even for a veteran like myself. I guess that's the reason I never bothered going for 100% back in the ps2 version. If it wasn't for this trophy I would give this a 1/10 in terms of difficulty. Just have a bunch of excels and youtube videos ready. Game Rating: 10/10 Platinum Difficulty: 5/10 Time to platinum: 15-20h Na-nananananana-na Katamari Damashiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Hey, did I mention how fucking weird this game is? Totally normal cutscene incoming: This was all a single scene, btw... On a separate note, games have always portrayed very unrealistic expectations for male's bodies like Gears of War or Dukem Nukem for example, but this silly game for kids has a character with like the meanest bulge ever, I mean, damn, that King is packing, no wonder the Queen is always sleeping, I mean, I doubt she's able to walk at all.
