Popular Post Valzentia
#86 - SpongeBob HeroPants Difficulty: 2/10 Fun: 7/10 As a fan of the SpongeBob games I was looking forward to this one. It's obviously no Battle For Bikini Bottom, but it's not a bad game at all (albeit crazy expensive and not worth the inflated prices!). The only tedious part is upgrading everyone, which gets mind-numbingly boring REALLY fast. Other than that, it's alright if you like platformers, SpongeBob, or both.
Popular Post Kefka1986
Platinum #136 - Bloodborne Difficulty: 8,5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 My very first souls game, and I even managed to achieve 100% in the DLC! This game was AWESOME, my evolution as a hunter was noticeable boss after boss, and every victory felt earned. I was stuck on some bosses for several hours and the feeling of finally hunting them, after focusing for a long period of time... it really really was great. However, this game had three things I disliked a lot: mindless farming, loading screens and walks of shame. Each time I died (which happened A LOT), I was welcomed to 15-20 seconds of loading screens. After that, I had to travel back to the boss, which usually wasn't that far but some times I could spend two minutes running back to the battle... And after several tries on any boss, I ran out of consumables and had to farm them to try again. The game would have been perfect with shorter loading screens (which I guess won't be a problem on ps5) without that farming portion of the game, and with less backtracking to the boss. Those are the things that lowered my enjoyment from 10/10.
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #141 Mighty Switch Force! Collection Difficulty: 4/10 Playtime: 35 hours Enjoyment: 10/10 (excluding certain levels) Ah, yes. Mighty Switch Force! A game that happens to be one of my all-time favorites. I remember spending hours on it, as well as the sequel on my Nintendo 3DS back then. Honestly, if it wasn't for a review of the HD game (the better one) I saw back in 2013, I would've missed it. I'm glad I read it, because what a gem I would've missed. The gameplay, mixed with an excellent soundtrack, is something you can't help but love it. Speaking of reviews, want to hear something stupid? One of the reviews of the HD game I read back in 2013 said that "Patty Wagon's job is to rescue her friends in each level." I know the first game well enough, so I'm going to say that's incorrect. In the first game, they're criminals, so she catches them. In the sequel, she saves them since they've turned a new leaf. I don't know how they could screw up a review like that. Anyway, when I saw the trophy list popping here in 2019 (which was the year I started to become active in here), I was overjoyed to play them again, as well as Academy, which I hadn't played before because it was released on PC and I had never heard of it until the collection was released. Although I did manage to get most of the trophies done, some of the so-called Hyper levels in the HD game made me give up on the platinum back then. When the trophy guide popped, I planned to resume this countless times. Recently, I did it and got the job done. What a nostalgic trip it was. Sure, it had some levels I wasn't fond of, but most of them weren't too bad and some of them were actually pretty fun. I also managed to beat most of the Hyper levels without a walkthrough. Some of them, however, I didn't bother beating without that. Since there are a total of four games, but one platinum in this collection, I'm going to give a short explanation about each game, as well as name the hardest level of each game. Mighty Switch Force!: The game that started it all. When I first started this years ago, I didn't know what to expect. After playing for a few minutes, I was hooked. Want to know why? The gameplay was addictive, but the thing that made an impact on me was the music. It's so great that you can't help but love it. In the end, I'm glad I gave this one a try. Hardest level: None. Since I've played this in the past, I know all the levels perfectly well. Mighty Switch Force! 2: The sequel to the first game. While I wasn't disappointed or anything, I enjoyed the previous one more than this for some reason. The gameplay is great as ever, but some of the puzzles went a bit too far with their designs. Particularly, the ones featuring the lock blocks. The music also was great, though I still think that the first game has the superior soundtrack. With all that being said, this one was an enjoyable experience regardless. Hardest level: Incident 14. The start isn't too bad, but once you get to the parts where you have to climb up, that's where it gets tough. The first one isn't too bad and I can memorize it most of the time, but the second one is the worst of the two. It's really easy to make a mistake with all the switching and if you mess up, it can be hard to figure out the solution. Even with a walkthrough, this level was a pain to deal with and I got through the second climb by pure luck.Yeah. At least the last two levels were much easier than that. By the way, I have a question. In certain levels, you'll encounter wooden blocks that block your path and can only be broken if certain enemies hit them with their fire attacks. You can also break them with an unlockable weapon, but the thing that leaves scratching my head is that whenever you shoot one with that weapon, it crumbles away while being ignited. Is Patty shooting gasoline at them or something and the temperature happens to be high enough that the block instantly combusts after shooting it? Finally, kicking babies in this game is easily one of the most WTF moments for me. Mighty Switch Force! HD: The HD version of the first game. What else there's to say that it looks better and it even has new levels, the so-called Hyper levels. They're basically remixed versions of the original levels, but designed to be harder. Before I put this game on hiatus, I only beat the first five Hyper levels. After resuming it, I actually managed to beat most of them without a guide. I'm not bragging or anything when I say this, but I didn't find most of them that hard to figure out. Besides, isn't it better to try them yourself first before using the guide? At least that's how I prefer to do things, but not all the time. As for the Hyper levels I couldn't beat, they are: 9, 11, 14, 15, B1 and B4. In other words, a total of 15/21 Hyper levels I managed to beat myself. There is one major thing I don't like about the HD version which probably should be obvious. The music in the Hyper levels. If the remixed levels weren't enough, they also had to remix original songs as well. While I did enjoy at least 1-2 songs, most of them sound rather bland which made me listen to the original songs even more. Hardest level: Hyper B1. At first, it doesn't seem too bad, but once you get to the halfway point of the level, that's where I hit the roadblock. The part where you have to jump and switch at the right time took me at least 12 minutes to figure out how to do it. Watching the walkthrough video didn't make a difference, the only way to figure it out was by playing it myself. By pure accident, I figured out that the only way to get past that part is to press both and at the same time and with very precise timing. If you do it too early or too late, it can go wrong in two different ways. You'll either take damage, which costs time since the previous checkpoint is rather far from that point or you'll hit the wall and fall down which also costs time. You can miss a jump once, but it's not recommended. Finally, you need to do it a total of four times in a row and that too took me some attempts to master. I could also say that the part after that tedious jumping/switching is absolute bs. All the switchings must be done extra carefully or else you'll end up taking damage. Be it either switching too early or hitting the pit of spikes below. Mighty Switch Force! Academy: As mentioned earlier, this is the only game in the series that I haven't played until the collection was released and that's because it was first released on PC. I play mainly on consoles, so that's pretty much the reason why I never played this before. As for this one, I thought it'd be the same game as the others which it is, but there are few different changes. Almost all the levels are non linear and they're set on one large screen, which means that you can choose your own paths to solve them. It also offers some new features, like the gravity switch. All these facts combined, made this one an unique experience. It even offers five classic levels from the first game. Nice! I also have to mention one thing which is the music. It uses music tracks from the first two games. For example, the music from the second game's final level plays at the title screen, which is... cool, I suppose? It does give nostalgic vibes, but at the same time, I really wished they had created something new, instead of reusing the same songs over and over. Hardest level: Course 20. Like the previous level I mentioned earlier, this one also had some sections where you have to jump/switch very carefully. Not much else to say. So yeah. Took me three years to finish it, but at least it's now done. While there were some levels I wasnt't fond of, this was a great experience. There's another game from WayForward I'm planning to play at some point, but more about that when the time is right. And it won't too long before I get to that. Also, in case you're wondering what my favorite game in the collection is, I'll tell you. It's the first one, as well as the HD version of it (excluding certain Hyper levels). Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed all of them equally, but because the first one is the most nostalgic to me, I might as well say it's my favorite. If there's any specific reason for that, it's because it has the most enjoyable soundtrack. Not counting the music in the Hyper levels, because those songs are rather bland. Spoiler By the way, the first two images are terrifying. Why the hell is General Gendarmor (the robot obviously) making that face? When I thought that was the only one, then comes the image that can only be seen after beating the final level. I knew that Patty is a cyborg, but the fact she looks like that freaks me out. Platinum #142 Destruction AllStars Difficulty: 6/10 or higher (without boosting), 2/10 (with boosting) Playtime: 25 hours Enjoyment: 7/10 This one was one of three games I started during my summer vacation, the other two being Scarlet Nexus and Knockout City. Unlike the duo, I didn't manage to get the platinum from this during that time. Mostly because some of the trophies are pretty hard to get without boosting. Flamethrower and No Escape are the main reasons why this platinum is so rare. Not only that, but winning 50 online matches is luck and skill based. I did manage to win every now and then, but not that much. After a long break, I popped the platinum and got the job done. The question is, how? Boosting was the main thing, as that made getting the previously mentioned trophies, as well a few other character based trophies, much easier, but what about the wins? The answer is Jumpshot, a brand new game mode introduced earlier this summer. Most of the time I played against bots and they didn't play that well, which made getting the remaining wins somewhat easy. It didn't always go as planned, as sometimes the opposing teams managed to get lucky and sometimes my teammates (I'm going to assume they were bots as well) played rather poorly, although rarely. And yeah, Ratu is the best choice for grinding wins. Mainly because her hero vehicle breaker is so OP that once you know when to use it, victory is almost guaranteed. Other characters that I had luck with were Xander and Shyft, but I decided to stick with Ratu and get it done. But anyway, what about the game? While it may not be the best way to compare, it basically felt like a mixture of FlatOut and Rocket League, although not as good as those two. Even though it does have content for single player, I kind of wish that it had 2-player split screen mode for online mode. Bottom line, it offered fun for a while, but because it lacks enough online content, this one was pretty much a miss for me. That being said, I still want to say that the game looks great for a PS5 game and I did enjoy it enough. I'll have to finish the other story mode I have left. You only have to beat one for the platinum, so I'm mainly doing other ones for fun. I'm not doing them immediately, as the grind for 50 wins took its toll. By the way, some of the trophies glitched on me and popped at random moments, like the platinum popping at the menu, instead after I got my 50th win. No other game has achieved that much randomness as this game. Next project: Stepping up with the difficulty once again. What I'm going to play next is: Spoiler I've seen the trophy guide, so I'm expecting a good challenge. That being said, it'll take a while before I start this, but I can say that I'm looking forward to it. Popular Post LastMinuteSavior
Platinum Trophy Earn all available trophies for Crysis It's amazing how this game still holds up. Sure, it shows its age in a few aspects - namely the controls - but it's still a beautiful game with a cool story and exciting gameplay. Playing the apex predator role never gets old. Play it on performance mode on a PS5, turn off motion blur, crank the thumbstick sensitivity to the max and you got yourself a great blockbuster experience here. I chose to get the Platinum across two playthroughs: first I played it on Normal and went all guns blazing and blowing sh!t up while killing every last bad guy in sight. Then I finished it off with a stealth-heavy playthrough on Delta difficulty. I had a lotta fun with both approaches. MidnightDragon
#87 Pac-Man Museum + There were games I liked and games I hated. All the missions are doable, but some will take some time. Work on getting all the decorations as you go along to avoid a huge grind later. The only grindy game is Pac-Man 256. Pac-Man Battle Royale is super easy, but boring as hell if you don't have anyone else to play with. Thankfully, many of the games autosave at the end of every level, so you can quit and reload if things go south. Doubt I would've finished some otherwise. Not every game does this, though. I enjoyed it overall, but don't think I'll want to play older Pac-Man for quite a while after this. #88 Carto This was a fun, cute, and easy little puzzle game. There isn't a compelling story, but I was glad to see the way it ended. It is long enough to be interesting, but short enough that it doesn't outstay its welcome. I definitely would recommend this.
Popular Post Ceridane
# 32 Resident Evil 3 Remake Difficulty 4/10 Time for platinum: 18 hours Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Easy platinum thanks to the Rocket Launcher spam. You can speed run the game in about an hour for the multiple playthroughs. #33 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 Difficulty: 7/10 Time for platinum 40 hours Enjoyment 8.5/10 without counting the level 100 grind. 'Got there' trophy was the hardest challenge in the game (School 2 being the most difficult one followed by Venice Beach) There were about 10 tricky gaps that took multiple attemps but overall the gap trophy is more tedious than difficult. Thanks to the 300xp every 8 seconds method the level 100 came relatively fast (very boring and repetitive though)
WingBingDing
#89 KeyWe (PS5) Such a great couch co-op game. My wife and I love Overcooked (it's the game that got her in to gaming in the first place), and we thought KeyWe is on the same level as Overcooked. Might have ranked it above Overcooked if it were just a bit longer. The platinum is not too bad as long as you can communicate effectively with your co-op partner. Some levels require near perfection, but nothing that can't be overcome with some practice. Highly recommended as a co-op experience (I did not try playing solo).

Popular Post JoaLoft
#296 - Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered Most of this platinum trophy was an autopop from my PS4 save, but I did play through the story again. So I'll keep this one a bit shorter. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered tells the story of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, juggling both his professional and private woes with supervillains and his rocky relationship with Mary Jane Watson. You'll see plenty of familiar bad guys pop up such as Rhino, Kingpin and Doctor Octopus. It didn't include some of them like Venom and Goblin, but those are making their entrance in the highly-anticipated Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The story itself, how it manages to involve so many villains in one story, does a great job of building up to a climax and letting multiple villains have their moment in the spotlight. While the story unfolds, you can explore New York City in pure Spider-Man fashion, swinging elegantly between skyscrapers and across rooftops. The traversal system - including the gracious-looking animations - is fantastic. It's important they nail the feeling of being Spider-Man and exploring the city so smoothly was a high-priority requirement. The combat system will remind you of the Batman Arkham Trilogy's. Batman: Arkham Asylum was of very significant importance to superhero games, the entire trilogy is incredible. It makes complete sense that Spider-Man would draw lots of inspiration from these games; its blueprint is adaptable to lots of other famous superheroes. As you explore the city, there are plenty of different crimes to prevent or collectibles to find. Completing these side activities will help unlock new costumes - and there are a lot - and help you level up to invest skill points into skill trees to unlock more abilities. Sometimes, it does feel a bit by the numbers. It's a bit too formulaic, and that's a problem they'll need to address for the sequel. It felt less organic than I would have liked it to be. There's also a clear pattern in the gameplay: swing through the city, get involved in a fight with multiple enemies, do a stealth section. Swing through the city, get involved in a fight with multiple enemies, do a stealth section. Rinse, repeat. It's all entertaining, it just needed to feel less predictable. Three things do bother me about this game, two of which were already present in the original version. First of all: there is no day-and-night cycle. The time of day or night is determined by how far you've progressed into the game. This is supposedly done on purpose to set the stage appropriately for certain highlights in the story. This is solved easily by setting story missions to certain moments during the day and giving you the ability to fast-forward time. It would have looked amazing to see the sun rise and set dynamically as you swing through New York City. Fingers crossed this is implemented in the sequel. Second, and this is a minor gripe: J. Jonah Jameson's podcasts. He's a well-known critic of Spider-Man in the lore and will do anything he can to portray the hero as a villain or a reckless vigilante. These podcasts start playing at random while you're swinging, and after a while, his toxic attitude becomes very obnoxious to listen to, constantly criticizing the player's (and character's) actions. However, Insomniac Games was very much aware of this issue before the game's release, so there is an option to turn off the podcasts in the menu. Just goes to show just how annoying and obsessed he can act, to the detriment of players' enjoyment. Third: the new face model of Peter Parker. It's been widely discussed, but now after playing it for myself, I agree that the Tom Hollandization of Peter Parker's face is unnecessary and is even a few steps back from the original model. The older model exuded more maturity, he felt more capable. Insomniac Games has always denied that the decision was made because of the live-action casting. They said that the new facial actor fits the voice casting better, but that is - pardon my French - a bullshit excuse to avoid addressing the elephant in the room. It is very coincidental that the first model bears a resemblance to Andrew Garfield (when the original version was in development). And that the current remastered model just happens to look almost exactly like Tom Holland. More likely is that Sony pressed Insomniac Games to redesign in-game Peter to look like Tom Holland, to draw more movie audiences to this game and the upcoming sequel. This was a very poor design decision, a slap in the face to fans and the original facial actor, and has received justified backlash (minus the death threats, those were uncalled for). They won't dial this back unfortunately, so now we're stuck with a less-charismatic Peter Parker face model. And that negatively impacts the experience, no matter how you approach it. That does not mean the game is bad. There are small problems that keep Spider-Man from being incredible, but it is still a great superhero game with solid mechanics. Marvel's Spider-Man (Remastered) comes with a certified recommendation, but I'm also throwing in a suggestion to play the Batman Arkham games if you haven't already. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! It's a by-the-numbers platinum trophy, so aside from a variety of goals to achieve, nothing is missable or difficult.
Popular Post EverythingOnFire
Platinum #41 Playtime: 40-45 hours Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Completion time: 9 years, 4 months! I started this back in 2013. Holy crap, time flies! I must not have cared for it much, because I got the first trophy and didn't touch the game again til May of 2021. Finished the game on June 2nd, 2021, loved it, and there it sat for 14 months til I read that Ubisoft were going to shut down the servers in a few weeks. I managed to get all 6 co-op trophies over the last couple days despite the servers being in a mostly abysmal state. Thank you to the handful of people that helped me get the trophies! It was actually a lot of fun when it worked properly, and it makes me kind of sad that I didn't play these fantastic co-op maps sooner. Oh well, nothing good lasts forever; especially when a big video game corporation is involved. Having said that, it's actually sort of incredible that these gen7 Ubisoft servers lasted as long as they did. I'm sure most other publishers would have pulled the plug years ago.
Popular Post MakotoKaCun
Platinum # 114 Crystar CRYSTAR After resting and not playing for quite awhile, Finally took some time off to play some game and and relax. Also try to do a guide when I m on it. As I do enjoy doing guide. Crystar is a simple game with cranky battle system if i will say. But I do still enjoyed the game, ever so the story is pretty interesting. I just kinda dislike the battle system as sometime enemy can stun lock you. You will only have decent skill once you reach lv50 above. But as this is not a AAA game so I will still suggest to friend who like JRPG to play it. Anyway enough talk form me for this game. Hopefully the guide I m working can be published soon. While I need to get bac kto training my skill to create game & getting more portfolio out to get a job soon. As my previous company really cause me quite some issue, ever it not a bad company. But it was stressful time.
