Platinum #256: Anno: Mutationem

Love the pixel artstyle of this game. Even the random npcs on the street are beautifully designed. Each city gives me a different vibe so it's always a joy to explore whenever I enter a new area. Going in this game blind I'm also surprised to see easter eggs from other indie games. Even though this game has a cyberpunk setting but I feel like it's more of a artistic choice because the story has not much to do with cyberpunk. The combat is alright you can basically just button mash through all the enemies but it's pretty stylish so I don't feel boring either. The platforming part of this game feels a bit lacking especially the laser rooms toward the end of the game because the wall climbing feels clunky and if you get hit you have to start over again. Thankfully there are only two of these rooms and they don't take long to clear. The story is pretty mediocore imo bascially you just go to x and clear out mobs to get information about your lost brother. I heard the original ending is so bad that the devs added a new better ending which is the current ending I got. Overall I would still recommend the game.

A love letter to classic Survival Horror games with some of the best puzzles I've seen in a long time, excellent backtracking and atmosphere.

The plot is a mess and the combat pretty simple, but it's so nice to have a new game in the style of the PS1/PS2 horror classics. 

It especially reminded me of Silent Hill Origins and Resident Evil remake.

This is my third time getting RE5's platinum.

Back in 2009, RE5 was my first platinum trophy, my introduction to the trophy system. But I had to create a new account (the one I'm using to this day) and get the platinum again but this time it ended up being my 2nd platinum. I love this game, the gameplay is addictive and overall it has aged very well. Ndesu on professional difficulty is a pain in the ass and I can't believe I forced myself to face him a third time. At least it took me only16 tries this time.

Combat is a lot of fun and the loot system is well thought out, but omg those collectibles can f*** right off. It drags the enjoyment out of the game hunting them down on randomized maps. I would put the game at 8/10 otherwise.

This game was a blast the whole way through. The story is great, and it isn't too terribly difficult on Classic difficulty. I do wish there was a 60fps option on PS5, but even with a 30fps cap, the game was a joy to play.

By far the second best game by supermassive. With a real threat and not like Man of Medan or Little Hope where the threat is not real. Only Until Dawn beats this game.

Annoying missables that require you to play through the several several times is kinda off putting, but with a guide it's pretty easy.

This game was a pleasant surprise, I liked it from start to finish. I could and lived without a speedrun trophy though.

 

Mafia (Remake)

I never played the original and had only played Mafia 2 & 3 before this but Mafia 1 is the better game in every single aspect. Far superior story compared to the other two entries. The race on Classic kinda sucked but wasn't to bad and only took me about 1 hour 45 minutes.

This game deserved all the praise it got. Pretty sure almost everyone have played it by now and know how amazing it is. Hopefully we get another open world from FromSoft in the future.

My gaming experience:

This fourth main game is a lot harder than its three predecessors.

In my 'first' playthroughs I played each level first casually, then with all gem requirements (and eventually with the

hidden coloured gem), after that with the n.sanely perfect run (collect every crate without death) and last but not

least the n.verted version of the level. Of course I've beaten all bosses on normal and n.verted.

I played the flashback tapes right after I collected them.

After the main story it was TIME for the real challenge: the time trials. The platinum time trials are a pain,

you have to stay calm and concentrate at the same time, which is very frustating when you die before

you reached the end of the level. The last third is ridiculously hard and you need to be almost frame perfect.

 

If anyone is currently working on this platinum trophy: believe in your skills and stay calm, you can do it!

 #409: PlayStation®Move Hero

 

One of those games that was just sitting in my closet, gnawing at the back of my head, toying with my indecisiveness of whether or not I wanted to even started, until it was too much, and I said "screw it, let's get it done".

 

I was surprised about how quickly this went, and even more surprised of how much fun I ended up having with it. Story-wise, it's nothing to write home about, just the protagonist from our 3 series brought together to play silly minigames with silly alien antagonists. This is a PS move game (obviously), and knowing that, it works surprisingly well most of the time. I never thought I would like bowling as much as I did here, but it was easily the highlight of the game (and the games where you can easily knock out the character-specific trophies). The shooting feels great, and remote control steering flying discs was no problem either. 

 

However, it does fall prey to the singular thing to that which plagues all motion-based gaming; The waggle combat. Anybody who's played a Wii or Move game knows what I'm talking about, where at important moments it feels like it will read your inputs only when it wants to, which yes, does it affect how well you score in the different games. It definitely wouldn't hurt to take it for a test drive first on a dummy account. 

 

If you think you can manage that, or at least you're not like me and have a much larger room to deal with, then it shouldn't be that much of a hassle to knock out. I managed to do it fine by myself, but as every guide mentions, it would be a lot easier if you had a partner to help you.

game was pretty forgiving with checkpoints despite some hard spots. also finished the bunny game and bird game +. sony censored for bunnys. took 6-7 tries on endless to figure what i was doing to complete bird game. next will be rainbow's toilets and unicorns (ps4) seems to be a bullet hell type game (maybe one of the easier ones).

#106 Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

 

Woah! Another shiny ultra rare platinum added to my collection. This platinum was tough to get but still not my toughest. 

Thanks god I didn't skip this game when I found out crash 4's difficulty is 9/10, because this game is soooooooooooo fun (and tough too).

 

 

Total playtime: 

80 hours for first playthrough, all clear gems and perfect relic. 10 hours for flashback relic. 30 hours for platinum relic. 8 hours for N. verted mode.

 

Some tips for anyone who working for crash 4 platinum: 

You gotta take breaks, if you keep dying after an hour in a stage, TAKE A BREAK for 10 minutes and let your brain and nerves rest. 

And most important: don't smash your controller!

i'm doubtful there's anything against the rules by spamming a ton of plat posts in a short time. myself i try to keep it within 1 post if i complete multiple platinum in a short time frame which includes yesterday. band-aid fix is to block any posts which seem excessive or annoying.

game is alot of memorizing bullet patterns on final bosses. only 3 bosses i ran into trouble but got through after attempts (mickey mouse doppleganger was the hardest of them all). also beat 1st story of mark version bowling took 10-15 attempts to find the right angle to throw the ball. next game is far cry 4 (ps4) along with the yeti DLC completing this one in fears of ubisoft shutting down the server in the future.

Not too much to say about this one. It's already been discussed at length by other achievers. My 2 cents on the trophies though, are that this kind of game really shouldn't have a speedrun trophy. It's pretty antithetical to enjoying the game. Granted, most people won't do it on their first playthrough, but it adds only minimal challenge, and no enjoyment to the game. Stray is at it's best when you're taking in the city, the views, and taking the time to dig into the history and characters. Forcing you to ignore all of that isn't interesting, and IMO was really unnecessary. Did really enjoy it outside of that quibble though.
