Popular Post Valzentia
#92 - Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS4) Difficulty: 3/10 Fun: 8/10 The first installment of the Jak and Daxter trilogy. I had played the story prior on PS2, so I used debug mode to get all the story trophies out of the way...but I basically had to go through the story anyway to grab all the collectables, although this was my very first 100% run of it. My only criticism is the camera has not aged well. It's actually so bad that it gives me motion sickness. But other than that, it's a great game. Happy to have the plat for it
Elvick_
Platinum #240 Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix Hail to the Blimp! Unlock all the trophies insanity was ridiculous. Anyone who got all 3 stars on every tournament without using 3 extra controllers to reduce item spam, is godlike, because I don’t know how you would ever do this otherwise. Most I got first try, or at least first try after the first race was retried. The first on the list… hairball? Idk, it was a nightmare. I can’t even be bothered again to describe it. I like the increased roster over the first game. I like the idea of the crew members and captain or whatever, it gets many more references in there, but I hate how often the AI, even on easy, can use them. It just makes things so tedious, after one or two races I’m tired of playing the game, I didn’t feel that way in the original and I felt like the drifting was somehow worse. and the needless grind to buy all items, why… I could’ve gone to sleep so long ago. Graphics and overall are design are a step up, but track wise I missed quite a few from the original. And the ones which returned were downgraded imo. I also disliked the change of how goo worked in races. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, it’s just not the direction I would’ve liked to see the games go in. I don’t know that I’ll ever feel the desire to play the 3rd game after this. I got the first two for like $3 each or something insanely cheap on PSN or I probably would’ve started at 3. Unless the plat is easier than this one, no thank you it was super stressful and I died a few times inside doing Insane. (And that challenge in the 6th section for doing blue drift boosts 10 times and winning a race, that made me mad, thankfully when I got back into the game after a break I got it first try but man it was the only challenge that felt ridiculous. speaking of, the challenges were a nice addition. I didn’t quite appreciate the CTR style boss races though where they spam items constantly.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#614 & 615 - The Darkside Detective (PS4 & PS5) Solid point-and-click with the usual references that are to be expected from the genre. In the vibe of Thimbleweed Park, but not quite as good. Enjoyment: 6 Difficulty: 2

Popular Post Nauticus87
#663 - OlliOlli 2 Platinum rarity: 0.63% My new rarest platinum, replacing Lumo which I got back in 2017. I played this for an hour back in 2015, before I was into trophies and was more active on Steam than Playstation. I've always wanted to come back and try it again but wasn't sure I could get the platinum. Finally decided I'd play it without worrying about getting 100%, my aim to beat the amateur challenges and simply finish the pro levels. The final five levels on amateur difficulty - Titan Sky - had brutal challenges, but I persevered. Somehow got them, but pro level challenges seemed maddening, a level of frustration that I wasn't sure I wanted. The scores seemed impossible. Yet the day after I beat amateur I came back to play again for fun. I went to pro and, somehow, it felt easier. I could do it. After that I flew through the rest in a couple of days. I hadn't realised it, but the game actually has a brilliant difficulty curve. You will get better the more you play, the muscle memory will start to kick in, and before you know it you'll be spinning, tricking, grinding and doing manuals from start to finish without even having to think too much. The worst part is probably the tricks, it isn't done in the most responsive way by using flicks with the stick. Thankfully, most of the combo and score challenges can be done by focusing on spins and sticking to the simpler tricks. There is definitely a level of frustration to be expected, dozens of failures, but finally nailing that perfect run is so satisfying. RAD mode felt like a victory lap, going through each level perfectly with only minor frustration, no challenges to worry about, just you and your board and the perfect simple lines that will get you to the end. @Rymanosaurus - Talk about coincidence. Here I was expecting to be the slowest achiever, only to see you also played it back in March 2015, came back to it and finished it the same day as me, pipping me to slowest achiever. Congrats to you too! Edited September 12, 2022 by Nauticus87
Popular Post PooPooBlast
#178 and 100% Horizon Forbidden West Riding off the Horizon Zero Dawn high, I was really looking forward to exploring this beautifully rendered open world and I was not disappointed (for the most part anyway). Aloy returns back with another threat looming with the potential to cause mass extinction. Sounds familiar? Well that's because it felt like sort of a rehash of the original story minus the background story regarding who Aloy and her allies are. In my opinion, the story of Forbidden West was one of the weaker aspects. It had several good moments here and there but the original game just set the bar so high that it just can't be topped imo. All this mystery about who Aloy was, why the machines are present, how did humans become so primitive despite the year being well-off in the future, etc was answered in the first game. So this mystique vanished with the sequel which makes me one of those who thought that while yes Forbidden West was a fun experience, the game didn't really need a sequel. Anyway, enough with the story, let's talk about the gameplay. This is one of the big pros of the game. The world was amazingly beautiful with tons of run-down buildings covered with vegetation and rust invoking this cathartic feeling that one day this might be us in the future! And fighting machines is still fun with the added new arsenal of weapons, skills and abilities improved from the first game. I captured many scenic moments (spoiler free) in the game so have a look! Spoiler Regarding the NG+ DLC, well that was awful, I won't sugar coat it. You have to gather 125 champion tokens to purchase all the newly added weapons, dyes and face paints which sucked because each story mission or activity gave either 1-3 champion tokens. If you did everything in the first playthrough, well you're shit out of luck and have to do them again! Anyway, overall I had tons of with Forbidden West but I'd say the first one was a better overall experience. Curious to see where they take the story from here. Onto the next!

Popular Post Valzentia
#94 - The Walking Dead (Vita) Difficulty: Telltale/10 Fun: 9.5/10 My very first platinum was this game on PS3. It's one of my favorite games period, so I knew I had to go for it on the Vita as well. It's also just as depressing, and awesome, as I remembered it (though some of the action sequences didn't age very well). Not gonna spoil anything, though. I would be completely fucking insane if I did. Just play it yourself if you want to know what happens.

zenunlime73
Plat #70 Master of Time and Space Farpoint is a fun game in terms of being a VR shooter, but very hard to plat. I liked the mechanics of the game and other play modes, they are reminiscent of arcade shooters I used to play as a kid in Chuck E Cheese. The story was good, but what really separates the casual players from the trophy hunters is the Challenge mode with high score requirements that require you to be very accurate, fast, undamaged, and have perseverance . Fun of game: 7/10 Plat difficulty: 8.5/10 Edited September 14, 2022 by zenunlime73
