Popular Post Valzentia
#97 - The Penguins of Madagascar Difficulty: 2/10 Fun: 7/10 I got this because I was a huge fan of the cartoon growing up. Surprisingly enough, it is actually fairly competently made for a licensed game, although it is quite short. The hardest part is scoring 200 in the bowling mini-game, and even then it isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. The story mode is more or less an interactive episode of the TV show, complete with the voice actors reprising their roles. I had fun with it until I got the plat. Don't see myself playing it again though.

RedRodriguez87
NA #413: Sing It All I have been eyeing this Platinum for a while, and I finally got around to getting two mics. So then it just became working up the nerve to actually risk putting them on my account. Yeah, this really wasn't a hard one at all. The coach sessions can be annoying, but every other trophy has some sort of exploit that only requires a box fan and an additional mic. I'm not too sure if I will do the EU version. There doesn't seem to be too many ps3 mic games like this one, where they requires very little actual effort on your part. Thankfully, I can't call this a waste of money, because a microphone really does help me with my work in story writing on the computer. PS3 #414: Safari Guide Gotta double up, double up, double double up. I beat the PS4 version, so why not this one? For story mode, my feelings are the same exact the ones they were when I first played this game; there is something oddly satisfying about hunting big game without the fear of actual death. Course, this game was considerate enough to frame these animals as human-killing man-eating bastards, which really fits the weird action movie vibe it has going. We got the gruff unshaven badass with a secret kind heart, the accomplished lady turned love interest, and the obvious villain who exploits the natives and betrays you (kinda). And just like the PS4 version, 1 annoyingly stupidly hard shooting gallery trophy managed to suck out a lot of the fun I was having with this game. Of course, I feel silly for saying this, because it became one of those instances where I took a 30-minute break, came back, and finished it no sweat. Sometimes it does feel like games screw with you on purpose.

Popular Post Drew_Cola
My latest platinum was Yakuza Kiwami 2. Great game, but man it is grindy! I did about 5 hours of mahjong, 5 hours of cabaret, 5 hours of Majima Construction, and probably 10 hours of bouncer missions. I honestly do not recommend this platinum. Great game though!

Popular Post Jelly Soup
#160 - TOEM Cute. Simple, if nearly never present, OST. Not really much to say here. Simple, relaxing game with fun characters and an interesting gimmick that reminds me a bit of FEZ.

Popular Post Dantes_994
MASS EFFECT 2 LEGENDARY EDITION N7 EliteME2: Acquire all trophies FUN: 10/10 DIFFICULTY 6/10 PLAT NO.21 Spoiler WHAT. A. GAME! The last time I went through this game I was just starting uni, just out of a really toxic relationship. It feels good to beat it after all this time, especially on insanity! Lair of the shadow broker turned out to be the hardest part of the game but nothing overly taxing. There are far worse difficulties than Insanity in ME2. Just like the first game, this part of the trilogy is expertly written with all of the DLC blending in seamlessly with the rest of the game. It's astonishing, the gap between writing in this game and some of the crap we get today. All of the characters are filled with charisma and each mission is so dipped in lore that you just want to listen to the logs and learn more about the universe. Having the logs voice is also a brilliant touch. I Decided to romance Liara again as she is, in my opinion, one of the top 3 romance options ever in gaming. I love how dedicated she is to Shepard and how much they take care of one another. It's emotional with just enough flair of drama to have you gushing over the two. I knew I would not get the trophy Paramour II if I did this but I'll wear it like a badge of honor. Oh, almost forgot. PLAT. NO. 21. YOU SLUTS!!! I'm so happy that a game such as this gets to be my no.20. I'm not that into trophy hunting, as I play games for the story. But a game as story driven as this one deserves to be a milestone. I don't know which party member I love more and I cannot wait to meet them again in the next game! And to reunite Liara and Shepard It's one of those games/series where, no matter how old you are you get to learn something new about yourself and how you see right and wrong, I think. Maybe I'm getting too philosophical, but I know that I always walk away from this game feeling good about myself and everything I believe in. A treasure, the whole trilogy. Popular Post Kefka1986
Platinum #141 - The Outer Worlds (+ DLCs) Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 WHAT A GREAT GAME!!!!! I love mass effect, and I would like to someday play a fallout game, so this game, which is a mix between these two sagas, was an easy choice. This game is shorter than any mass effect game, has less planets to visit and the companions are nowhere near as well developed than in a mass effect game, but the story was GREAT, you can personalize your character as you want, leveling up different skills (you can level up your hacking skill to bypass some sections, or your speech to be able to win battles without a gun, etc). Now, mix that with a shorter fallout, with less factions but as well written as those, and there you have it, The Outer Worlds. I also played the two DLCs and was blown away by the choices and consequences, the stories were soooo coool. They are also well integrated in the base game, they don't fell forced, it was a great experience. Trophy wise, you need to keep an eye on several missables, I followed a guide in Powerpyx for that and had no trouble, making a save in critical moments will let you get every trophy in the game without having to do another playthrough. Also, keep in mind that the loading screens are long in this game, 10 seconds waiting to keep playing each time I entered a building was frustrating. I really need a PS5 to get rid of loading times... I think there is an edition on sale which has the base game + the two DLCs; I bought the base game and later purchased the DLCs, and it felt that they were a bit expensive (8-9 € each DLC), so definitely buy this edition. Give this game a chance, watch some youtube videos, if you like what you see, get it, you won't regret it!!

Popular Post Moridin83
#228 Yakuza 5 (PS4) So I am a fan of Yakuza games. I've played and platted 0-5 (#3 twice) and dead souls.. This is by far my least favorite main line title. That doesn't mean it's bad, but I'm holding it to Yakuza standards, not generic video game standards. This will be a little ranty and a little spoilery. You've been warned. Yakuza 5 went with the theory that more is always better. To cut to the punch line, it's not. The game is seriously bloated in a number of ways. There are 5 cities to explore, 3 of them new. Kiryu's is the least objectionable, but even his has a layout that just doesn't feel great to get around. After 4+ games with the same locations, I understand wanting to diversify a little, but one really good location would have made much more sense. With narrow streets and lots of NPC traffic, it's possible to repeatedly find yourself stuck in a crowd, trying to squeeze between pedestrians who won't get out of the way. It's especially egregious in Saejima's city. The inclusion of the side stories also was not necessary (for me). The amount they added to the characterization versus the amount of tedium they induced was not well balanced. I felt this way about all of them, but especially things like Haruka's Handshake events, or Kiryu's conversation taxi missions. At least dance battles and taxi fares provided some significant gameplay, even if it wasn't my favorite. This section wouldn't be complete without a dishonorable mention to the coliseum. Having to win all tournaments with each character was just not fun. Between the grind to rank up and unlock the higher tournaments, the generally poor moveset (Shinada) or the lack of survivability for later tournaments (Akiyama), and the fact that you can't even work on these throughout the game, as they don't unlock until the final chapter of the finale, this sucked a lot of the remaining joy out of the game for me. The story was similarly disappointing, with Saejima basically rehashing Y4 for the first half of his story, and then playing a Cabela's game for chapter 3. You don't even get to his city until the last chapter of his part. The new character I actually liked personality wise, but he's the worst fighter in the series, with a meagre moveset which is still half repurposed from other characters moves from previous games. His connection to the ongoing events is an ass-pull even by Yakuza standards, and they had to invent a second type of batting minigame, just to give him something unique. Yes, that's right, there are now 2 different batting style minigames just because of him. Haruka's inclusion as a playable character also left me cold. I appreciate the attempt, but, contradicting myself from earlier, they needed more variety. There are basically 2 different songs you'll be using for most of her content, so they get old very fast. To finish with the story complaints, there's one scene in the finale that just beggars all belief with how dumb it is. If you've played the game, you know what I'm talking about. Lest it seem like I hated every second of the game, I will end with some positives. The gameplay was probably the smoothest in the series thus far (at least of 1-5), and there were several very cool big damn hero moments in the finale. Akiyama got a great one, and I did enjoy the end of Shinada's narrative arc. The final boss fight was also cinematically one of the best in the series, although the final boss himself did not deserve it. This was a decent game by normal standards. It's just that as a fan of Yakuza games, it did not live up to my expectations for the series. I don't necessarily regret playing it, but I'm damn glad I'm done, and certainly don't see myself ever coming back to it.
Popular Post Mirrors1118
Platinum #260: Dishonored 2 A major improvement from Dishonored 1. Each level is gorgeous and offers multiple ways of approaching. Clockwork Mansion is simply gorgeous. Jindosh making remarks on your progress while you are in the mansion is pretty fun. The moving rooms and spaces behind the walls made it even better. Clockwork Mansion is great but my favorite level is Crack in the Slab. While it restricts the use of your powers but the ability to travel between two timelines with the timepiece is kinda mind blowing. The first playthrough I didn't save Aramis Stilton but on my second playthrough I saved him and I was very surprised the manor completely changed after I saved him. Love that not only the story changes base on low/high chaos but also there are more subtle changes like in mission 5 an elite guard would let a civilian go in low chaos but she would kill the civilian in high chaos. The ending feels kinda underwhelming though as it just concludes what you did throughout the run. But Dunwall and Karnaca's world-building, attention to details, atmosphere, and conversations make up for it despite the ok story. Stacked voice actors just like the first game but I didn't really hear much of Pedro Pascal's voice since I always knocked Paolo out lol. With 2 protagnists there are even more powers to play with. The ability to craft bone charms and to stack the same ability 4 times makes you able to craft extremely op bone charms. With new game plus Clean Hands and Shadow are pretty easy even on harder difficulty. Still not a huge fan of Flesh and Steel. This time they even limited the use of blink. Now that I played Dishonored 2 I'm kinda bummed how linear Deathloop is. Visual: 10/10 Gameplay: 10/10 Story: 7/10 Platinum Difficulty: 3/10 Overall: 9.5/10

Cronos7563
Platinum 25: Marvel's Avengers (2020) A very tedious game. It has it's bright spots and the missions are way more fun with a friend, but overall it's a chore to get through, especially getting all the trophies, since some of them are glitched. To the Dark and Back (complete 50 Hive Missions) is probably the hardest one since the counter always resets whenever a new patch is updated. Still, I'm glad to finally have gotten all the trophies.
Popular Post Biertje373
Platinum #63 TOEM And that completes the list! When they revealed TOEM to be one of the PS+ games of September, I did not really care about it, thankfully I am someone who likes to try new things and this time it really worked out because TOEM is a fantastic game. First of all the artstyle, I love that this game is (almost) completely in black and white, you just don't see that a lot which made it really stand out. I wouldn't mind more games with this aestatics. I also love how relaxing this game is, taking pictures of everything was a lot of fun, and the characters were really charming. While nothing that I would add to my personal playlist, the music was really nice. So yeah, that's basically all I wanted to say about the game, glad that this game is this month's PS+ game because this game was a nice surprise. And of course the platinum screenshot:
