HansPatat050
1 hour ago, Eqill5 said: Platinum #59 - F1 2021 (PS4) Having platinum’d every F1 game all the way back from 2010 forward to 2021, I think it’s time to call it a day on this series for me personally. Don’t get me wrong, I still love F1, but I’ve lost a lot of love for the games (burned out). Maybe in a few years I’ll come back and work through the PS5 titles, or maybe not. I just know for now there’s a small-ish backlog needing attention and there’s not enough time to continue plugging away at this series for the sake of series completion. Has anyone else ever felt this way and given up on what feels like a never ending project? With these series, yes. I platted 19, 20 and 21, but there is very little new content from a trophy perspective so I also decided to skip 22 and work on the backlog.

Popular Post Trancexistence
#26 - Wheels of Aurelia My third platinum in three days. It's a visual novel game with driving mechanics which starts off as an interesting concept for the first couple of playthroughs but quickly becomes tedious with a minimum of 16 playthroughs required for the platinum (I needed 17). Each playthrough is mercifully short at around 15 minutes a time but it was still overkill. The soundtrack was probably the best part. It certainly wasn't the dialogue or the clunky driving mechanics. I don't recommend it to be honest. Popular Post Moridin83
#241 Victor Vran I have a very split opinion on Victor Vran. The base game is a lot of fun, and relatively well balanced. I also enjoyed the Motorhead DLC story. The game is a little heavier on upgrading a few pieces of gear, than the constant replacement loop of other loot grinders, so YMMV on how you like that. The map challenges are an interesting way to get you to do more than just take the shortest path from point A to point B, and do make exploring more rewarding. However, there are also some things I had a significant problem with. Elite challenges don't unlock until after you beat the game. There's nothing mechanically or level wise which would prevent you from doing them earlier, so holding them back to artificially extend the length of the game wasn't great for me. Nothing at all changes once the final boss is beat, so there's no reason for it other than padding the length. Despite that, they weren't awful. The same can't be said for the Motorhead Elite challenges. Several of them were miserable to the extent that I decided to be happy with my platinum, and not go for 100%, including one challenge the guide flat out says it basically impossible solo, and one that requires a brand new build you almost certainly aren't using for anything else in the game. The second DLC, Fractured Worlds, also wasn't to my tastes. It does away with most of what I enjoyed about the game, actually designed levels, unique bosses, and instead has randomized dungeons, and uninteresting challenges. It also raises the difficulty even on normal to extremely punishing levels, with non-elite mobs capable of killing you in seconds. This is before you even get into Hardcore Hard mode for both DLCs. None of this is impossible, but go in with your eyes wide open, and decide how you dedicated you want to be. I'd highly recommend the base game, and trying the Morothead DLC story, but if you're someone who has to 100% everything you play, make sure you know what you're in for.

Popular Post modest_undue1
Very happy with it, Concrete Genie. It took a while to find all the pages in the games to earn the journal restored trophy, which was the last one before platinum. Pretty good game overall, would recommend for art-sy people.

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #250 Nexomon Nexomon Unlock all other trophies. played this on PC when it came out, still janky as hell, but I love it. Even if when they updated some of the art there were a lot of downgraded designs… but I’ll live. It was fun to replay, despite the combat being kind of dumb and broken. In the end the combat amounts to either one hitting or having 1-3 hits to kill something before you have to switch, or shield; to reduce damage to 1 to bide time for attacking. Rinse repeat, because healing items don’t do enough to be functional in battle. You take more damage than they heal. It’s mobile roots are apparent, but it’s charming and I just enjoy the humor in the game. And there are a lot of really neat Nexomon. Some great music too. Now to decide what to play next. Extinction is probably too soon after the grind of finding Nara. But maybe next year. We’ll see.
Popular Post Kefka1986
Platinum #146 - Ratchet and clack Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 5/10 After one year I returned to finish this! I'm not a big fan of the series, it is a bit boring to me, but it was an ok game to play for a few days. Glad I went back to finish it! Platinum #147 - Bloodstained Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 This was a great metroidvania!! Why did it take me 4 years to go back and finish it? The grind - horrible grind - for the trophy of having 100% of the items in the game kept me away from this gam for years. There are LOTS of items and that trophy ask you to get them all, so it took me two days playing killing enemies for drops, and then using alchemy to get more items, and so and so... that part was boring but, even so, this game was amazing!!

For some reason on my First Run in my PS4 with a disk; the saves were glitching and when I loaded any of them Kratos would load into infinite death loop of him falling forever. I tried a Second Run a year later....same issue. This Run was on my PS5 with the digital edition that was on sale last year. And this time I had no issues and I FINALLY FINISHED THE GAME!!!!!! ? disaster500
#50 Wolfenstein: The New Order Very good shooter, gunplay is top notch. There's nothing quite like peeking your head around corners and blasting Nazis with dual wielded assault rifles. Trophies weren't too bad, just needed to do some quick farming at the end to unlock the last few perks. This was a good choice for the 50 milestone, and I'll definitely play The Old Blood next, as it's on sale for only £4.49. I plan on doing Wolfenstein II as well at some point, maybe when I have time to do frequent 3-4 hour Mein Leben sessions.

Popular Post Viper
#293 Cat Quest II Pawlatinum Barktastic! Very much the same as the first game, so the fun is still there...NOW WITH DOG PUNS! I'll say right off the bat, that I liked the first game just little bit more. I think it had a better story, and felt a little more self-contained. The first game mentions Dogs are a part of this world but you never see one...this game not only adds the dogs in as the Cats and Dogs are at War, but you even get an AI Dog companion with you through the entire game (or you can play Co-Op this time). I'd say this game ever so slightly harder than the first, you didn't level up as fast and because you have a companion they had to mire the difficulty to compensate for 2 characters fighting. However the map is twice the size and there's more content, so while there's still a trophy for hitting level 99...I was level 115 by the time the Plat popped, so there's plenty to do. You can switch between the two characters anytime you want, and you're encouraged to make one a Mage and the other a Tank. The Mage takes a 50% hit on their Health, but they get wands that can do damage from a distance, plus the deeper Mana pool. Whereas the Tank, of course, focuses on up close damage. In the first game you had 7 powers to choose from, but could only attach 4 at a time...this game has 12 powers, and each character can assign 4, for 8 total. Though honestly, the powers that were the most useful in the first game...still are here. The first game ends in such a way that definitely made you think they were setting up for this game. But early on it almost seemed like they abandoned that altogether. Thankfully that's not the case, they just decided to have a time skip and give you a whole new character with call backs to the first games story. So yeah preferred the first game a little bit more, but you can't go wrong with this one either. Apparently there's a third game coming, so I'll be down to check that out when it lands.
Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 139: XIII (Remake) Firstly this is my thoughts of the updated remake of the remake (September 2022). I assume everyone knows of what a car crash this was when it was released, but another company took over to fix the mess that PlayMagic Ltd made. With this updated version, I was really suprised how fun it was to actually play, I played the original as a kid but as far as I remember I didn't get too far into it. It's a very short game, averaging around 6-8 hours to complete the story and for the most part I really enjoyed it and its comic book looking style. I was hesitant with going into this with all the negative feedback it had gotten but I hadn't heard anything since the remake got updated. Overall it's a short but easy (ish) game to complete, however for the hardest difficult, I wouldn't say it was difficult but more annoying as the issue was the A.I. For some reason they think they're in a Matrix movie and never keeping still while rolling/moving around all the time with pin point accuracy, that it did get on my nerves near the end as sometimes enemies can be a hassle to kill due to the A.I. I can't say I'm dissapointed the trophies difficulty not stacking as I wanted to play the game on normal to get a feel, then on hard and then on easy for the collectables. As for the collectables, a guide will be needed as on my first playthrough I missed 75% of them even though I was being thorough as I could ?. Story: 5/10 Difficulty: 4.5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Anyone out of curiosity wonders what happened to remake of this game for it to turn into a mess it was originally, I'd recommend watching this: Edited November 16, 2022 by ZachBoardyHD

Popular Post iXanon
#45 #64 Onrush Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time taken: 1 month, 1 week, 6 days Hello world, it's been a while since I've posted one of these - despite having finished quite a few games this year! What can I say about Onrush? Had it have not been for the announced server shutdown following a potential unannounced shutdown, this would probably still be in my backlog. However, since EA was quite generous with their timing on this occasion and I wouldn't need to pull any late nighters, I decided to give it a go.. and I'm glad I did! I've never played a MotorStorm game, and since this was effectively a "spiritual successor" I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. It made a change for me to play a racing game without the goal of winning in the traditional sense - and while there is a defined circuit in a partially open environment, there is no lap counter either. The goal here is essentially to crash your opponents. It very much reminded me of Burnout in many respects, which is a series that I love and wish that EA would revive. I won't deny, there were times of frustration with the takedown mechanics, and at times it felt like the game was hugely biased toward AI drivers. However, even playing through the entire campaign in single player without co-op assistance didn't pose too much trouble.. It's a bit of a shame that this is going to be affected by a server shutdown, since there's no real multiplayer to speak of (though it looks like there was in the past), and the trophies are technically earned through the single player campaign - it's just that some require an online connection. A decision that I'm sure made sense at the time with the intentions of the developers, but it now feels a bit unnecessary. If you're thinking about whether or not to try and do this before the shutdown, my recommendation would be to do it.
Popular Post Eqill5
Platinum #60 & Trophy #3000 - Feist Feist is little game that appeared on my radar at the start of the year. It’s not very well known with only just over 1000 owners on this site. The game is fun, yet challenging in its own right. It has 10 levels and each requires an individual speed run and a no death run (you can get both at the same time), though it’s possible to die and still beat the time limit! There is a bit of RNG as enemies can be a pain in the a... but once you’ve familiarised yourself with the levels you learn how to manipulate their movements etc. My only complaint was some screen lag in the later levels when there’s a lot happening on screen but other than that it runs pretty smooth. I picked it up really cheap on the store iirc! Edited November 16, 2022 by Eqill5
Popular Post OTPYG
Platinum #179 God of War Ragnarök Game Rating: 8.5/10 Platinum Difficulty: 4/10 Time to platinum: 36h Recommended: Absolutely No spoilers below. This game had big shoes to fill, as its 2018 predecessor was one of the best games of the PS4 generation. And for the most part, the shoes fit nicely. The game looks great (performance mode) and sounds amazing. It has a brilliant soundtrack. Combat is slick and responsive and oh so satisfying, with a good amount of moves to learn to combo together across all your weapons. Where this game suffers is with its pacing. It’s a mess. I won’t delve into details, but you can be on a high from an epic battle only to be stagnated for a good length of time by unnecessary filler ‘story development’, and by the time it’s over you’re just sitting there bored and wanting to play something else. That’s how I felt at times. Some scenes go for far too long. I’ve said this before regarding this game but I have no problems with a slow burn of a story. RDR2 is a very slow burn but it had me hooked from start to finish, it’s the pinnacle of storytelling. GOWR’s story, for the most part, is just not interesting, therefore the length of some scenes really do drag on. It’s a great game, a worthy sequel, and well worth playing. I personally don’t think it lives up to the hype of all the 10/10s that were thrown at it at launch though. Popular Post The_Kopite
Platinum 300 Final Fantasy VII Remake Really enjoyed this one. Obviously being a massive FF fan really helps but I felt it had the best balance between old school turn based JRPG's and looking for a more action style modern based battle system. This is one I could really get on board with. Super awesome to see my favourite game ever being remade, even if this is only the first part of it and not an exact match story wise but think they did a great job and it was a fun platinum to go for overall. Hard Mode was certainly a challenge, but a respectable one and it was good in forcing you to adjust to life without items and playing with different styles and mixing up strategies. Bring on Rebirth! Highly recommend this game!!! (Very much looking forward to getting started on the Intermission DLC!) Also platinumed Random Heroes: Gold Edition for 301 which is a solid style 2d platform shooter like Devious Dungeon, but really wanted to talk about the game above lol Simple fun though and I'd recommend this too when cheap.
