Popular Post NeoObliviondesu
Got them in the same game session so I'll consider both #57: Heavenly Bodies (PS5) - Commendable Service This game reminded me of Mount Your Friends but in space, the Newtonian challenges are kinda infuriating but I managed to cheese them a bit. Good Essential game in my opinion. #58: Dragon Ball Kakarot (PS4) - Dragon Ball Master Loved this game, not hard by any means but it takes some time, played about 48 hours but had to wait a little more to summon Shenron the last 3 times. Too bad it doesn't have Super content yet as I'd love to transform to Ultra Instinct Gokum hopefully the PS5 update comes with a Tournament of Power DLC. ukiukimidnite
#94 - Telling Lies I didn't enjoy it - I had trouble getting into it and I found it very confusing. I tried making sense of it all but I lost interest pretty quickly and just used a guide. The videos I bothered watching mostly had a pretty depressing vibe. It just wasn't my kind of thing. It's on PS+ so at least I didn't pay anything for it!
Popular Post Valzentia
#113 - Castle of No Escape 2 Difficulty: 1/10 Fun: For a few minutes/10 This would be a lot more fun at an arcade. #114 - Durarara!! 3way standoff -alley- V Difficulty: 3/10 Fun: 8/10 "But Val", you may ask, "how is a visual novel a 3/10 difficulty"? Well, there are trophies tied to the minigames too, which is where most all of the difficulty lies (unless you can comprehend Japanese and don't need a translator like I do). Oh, and i'm the eighth person on PSNProfiles to achieve this plat It's a bit on the glitchy side unfortunately, and I far preferred Relay to 3way Standoff. Primarily because Relay focused more on the existing characters while Standoff has you play as a completely new one. The minigames were more entertaining (which is why I give this game a higher Fun score); especially DRRRUN, which is an incredibly amusing Durarara-skinned endless runner.
setobox
#45 My Aunt is a Witch- My Aunt is a Witch Platinum (PS Vita) The art and animation is very cute and beautiful however this probably had to be the most frustrating platinum to get this year simply because the PS Vita version of this game is a buggy mess. I was lucky as to not have my saves deleted like others did but it crashed multiple times and there are only six save spots so I had to do sections over and over. Many times the background was just blue and all that was on the screen was the UI. I do not recommend this version unless you have the physical version which I think does not have these bugs. Stick to the PS4 release. Edited December 2, 2022 by setobox

Popular Post Redgrave
#262: Sanguis Aeternus - Evil West Cowboys fighting vampires in a third-person beat'em up/shooter/hack and slash? It sounds and looks quite like something that would have come from the PS3 era and does it deliver ? This comes from the same people that made Shadow Warrior 3 which I have heard mixed things on but regardless of that I feel like this game was really good since like I said it kind of comes off like a game you would see in the late PS3 days in which it's a linear title that doesn't have other gimmicks like season passes or anything like that. There is a pre-order bonus but that's about it. Beyond that I feel like if this came out on the PS3 along with titles like Darksiders and The Darkness 2 I feel like it would be seen as something of a underrated gem which I also feel like is the same here to be honest. You play as a gunslinger named Jesse Rentier in an old west setting mixed with steampunk that hunts down vampires for a company that makes the technology to fight them. It's a cool setting and in a way it kind of reminded me of The Order: 1886 but I feel like it was executed better in Evil West. Along the way you get different weapons to use to not only shoot but you get to run up and start punching vampires with an electric gauntlet and it's quite satisfying especially when you get the ability to do faster combos so you basically just run up to them and give them a beatdown ? Like mentioned above it's a linear game so there's no open world exploration or anything which I feel like is just fine since I think it presents itself well. The campaign itself has a fair length as well, something like 10-15 hours I believe and it didn't feel like it dragged on or anything. The only negative I can really give this game which may or may not hold up as time goes on is the game is a bit buggy. It's not borderline unplayable or save-file erasing but rather some odd glitches can occur that make gameplay kind of annoying but for the most part they can be resolved by either just loading into the next area or starting the game over. At worst there is one level over halfway through the game that for some reason seems to freeze and crash randomly if you look at your upgrade menu. I assume it wasn't playtested enough for that level since most the levels before then didn't have much issues. The only other thing that seemed to happen was during the Chapter 10 boss fight the game would randomly blackscreen for the host and then disconnect them either once or twice. Beyond that, I think if the game just gets some polish it could be held up as a hidden gem and I feel like some of the reviews for the game are pretty harsh. It might not be a 1000/10 GOTY cinematic masterpiece experience but it's definitely a good time even with the glitches it has. I have seen some even say the game is dated but I think that's more of a compliment since as I have been saying that it is a lot like a game you would see on the PS3 before all the lootbox and season pass craze started. The trophies are a pretty standard list where there are collectibles (over 400 in fact but it's not as bad as it sounds) along with some standard difficulty and misc trophies. The only real challenge from the game comes from beating the game on Evil difficulty which is the hardest difficulty and despite the name it's really not that bad save for one section on the final chapter that is pretty rough because it spawns three enemies that not only have a lot of health but can heal each other and often do repeatedly. It's entirely possible that this was a lot harder because I played it in co-op and the game does scale enemies for co-op which is fair but still that section was a bit much ? And yes, this game's co-op is really fun in which I am thankful to @Undead Wolf for playing with me and I also greatly appreciate that the devs included it as a feature even though it is pretty clear the game is tailored towards a more single-player experience. The game does make it come off like the co-op partner won't get any trophies but I think the way the game words it can make it seem that way since both players are able to get all of the trophies just fine and progress for the ones such as getting a certain amount of kills and such do carry over in sessions. The only drawback is that if you are the co-op partner and intend to get the Platinum without doing like four playthroughs you basically have to piggyback off the host since your own personal save won't progress and you will have to rely on how you made your character in the hosts game.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#432 - Rune Factory Oceans Rune Factory Master Earn all trophies. I started this game on Christmas day 2021, so it's almost been a year now. I struggled to get into it at first and have been playing it on and off since then which is why it took so long. What initially turned me off to the game was the voice acting. It came from an era where dual-audio wasn't common practice for Japanese games like it is today, so that meant I was stuck with the subpar English dub. I had to stop playing for a while after getting introduced to this flamboyant gay man which was just... weird. ? The other thing that made it hard for me to get into it was the lack of direction. It's really not clear a lot of the time how you're supposed to progress the main story as the quests don't always appear on the bulletin board and then you have to try and figure out why that is. Taking breaks from the game really didn't help in that regard either. Eventually though, I did start warming up to this game and I totally get the appeal of this series now. I think it's cool that you have this little village as your sort of home base full of people you build up relationships with. I liked seeing their little character arcs, and eventually, you can even choose one to marry. One of the main ways you raise one of the villagers affinity to you is by completing their requests on the bulletin board, usually stuff like giving them specific items or killing a certain type of monster. A lot of these requests give you recipes for crafting which in turn makes you stronger when tackling the dungeons. That's the other big component of the game, and I think it's neat how it works in tandem with the relationship-building/village life side of the game. You need good equipment and high level food to even have a shot at some of the late game stuff. But speaking of late game stuff, that's where the biggest challenge of this plat comes from. One of the trophies requires you to beat every fight in the colosseum, and the last one is against something called the Legendary Golem. In the main story, you fight it on a giant golem of your own, so it's not that bad. In the colosseum though, you have to fight it on foot, and the problem is that it has this insane missile attack that's basically a one it kill if it hits you, and it's very difficult to dodge. There's a degree of RNG involved because it's random when the Legendary Golem decides to do this move, so obviously you hope for a fight where it does it as few times as possible. It goes without saying that you'll want to have the best equipment going into this fight as well as various buffs from some high level food. It took me somewhere in-between 1 and 2 hours to finally beat it. It's a pretty bullshit fight to be honest. The rest of the trophy list mostly just consists of various grinds. Stuff like crafting 1,500 items, killing 5,000 enemies, etc. The worst grind for me was the one for catching 2,000 fish because it's mind-numbingly boring and unlike most of the other grinds, you have to go out of your way to get it. Not really something you work towards naturally (at least it wasn't for me). All in all, it took me about 100 hours to get this plat. Not an amazing game, but I did end up liking it. And from what I understand, this is one of the weaker Rune Factory games, so I look forward to playing the other more highly regarded ones. #433 - Xenon Valkyrie+ Hardcore Gamer Unlock all trophies in Xenon Valkyrie + The best way I can describe this game is Spelunky but anime style. Like that game, you go deeper and deeper, tackling various bosses along the way all while you try your best to get stronger in the procedurally generated levels. It's a rogue-like, so even failed runs can be beneficial since you can unlock stuff to use in later runs. There are 4 playable characters and they each have different stats, weapons, and abilities they start out with. Excluding the platinum, there are only 18 trophies, and they're all tied to doing stuff like completing the various blocks/levels, beating bosses, completing some side activities, and getting the various endings. The game can be breezed through with cheats if you decide to use them. #434 - Evil West Sanguis Aeternus All Trophies unlocked. The Weird West is a better place now. I only learned about this game shortly before it came out, but I loved what I saw. It's that kind of linear third person shooter/action game that largely died off during the PS3 era and I'm all for it. I'm a big fan of the steampunk western setting of the game, and they threw vampires into the mix too because why not? ? I enjoyed the characters too, especially James Harrow who's a kind of antagonist in the game because some of the lines he came out with were just hilarious. At one part he chastised one of the bitchy female characters in the game for having a "woman moment" as he called it. ? He's the sort of villain you love to hate. But as enjoyable as the characters and story were, it's the gameplay where it really shines. It's a mix of melee combat and shooting mechanics, and you can seamlessly transition between the two. I was impressed with how they made good use of pretty much every button on the controller. They're all tied to some attack or ability, and pressing two at the same time will often do something else. For instance, you can hip fire with your pistol by holding R2, but if you hold L2 and then start pressing R2, you'll shoot your repeater/crossbow instead. There's also a perk tree and weapon upgrades that can expand your arsenal even further. It can be a little hard trying to remember everything you can do, but they did a good job of slowly introducing mechanics over the course of the game so it doesn't get overwhelming too quickly. They even have an option in the settings where they'll remind you about certain combat mechanics if you haven't used them in a while. The hardest trophy was for beating the game on Evil difficulty. It didn't actually feel that much harder than my initial run on the Normal difficulty since you can do it in NG+ with the perks and weapon upgrades from the previous playthrough. That is up until the final level. There's a big difficulty spike at the start of it where there's this big combat encounter, towards the end of which 3 tough enemies spawn that can heal each other if you don't knock them out of the move in time. Thing is, with 3 of them, it's very tough to see what all of them are doing at the same time, especially when you're so focused on not getting hit since they can kill you so easily. I think it took almost 2 hours of attempts to finally beat that encounter. Once you kill 1 of the 3 enemies, it's a lot easier to manage. They have a ton of health though, so that in of itself is quite challenging. The rest of the game, including the final boss, weren't too bad. Some of the other trophies to note were stuff like getting all of the collectibles which you'll want to do anyway since most of them reward money which you'll need for the weapon upgrades. Killing 30 enemies with all the electric weapons was a bit annoying since there's no way to track it. There are also some missable boss-related trophies which are best done on an easier difficulty. I played in co-op, and for whatever reason they don't let you chapter select when doing that, so unfortunately I had to do an extra playthrough just to cleanup what I missed. The game can be rushed through in a few hours though, and it's a game I really enjoyed, so I wasn't too upset by it. But speaking of co-op, I want to thank my buddy @Redgrave for playing the game with me. It was a little buggy, but still one of the most enjoyable co-op experiences I've had in a while. ? I would recommend the game in general, but even more so if you have a friend to go through it with.
Popular Post ukiukimidnite
#95 - Sakura MMO (PS5) / #96 - Sakura MMO (PS4) I think I've had enough of these Sakura VNs now. This seemed to be the shortest one yet (or at least the one where the least happened in it). It seemed to be building up to something, then just ended very suddenly. The setting/aesthetic is very similar to DanMachi and the main premise is a lot like SAO. All the characters talk exactly the same way as the characters in the Sakura Succubus games - it's hard to explain, but everyone has the same distinctive "voice" and they all seemed to have swallowed a thesaurus. Every Sakura VN has to mention "half-lidded eyes" too - they get that in every time without fail. It's OK for the price (it was about £3-4 in a sale), but it wasn't great. I've read/played worse VNs (BIG DIPPER!) but I've played a lot better. Then I zipped through the PS4 version (included in the purchase) to get a free, quick and easy extra platinum. Popular Post TheMCofWumbology
#27 - Saints Row: The Third Remastered Kingpin Unlock all Trophies in Saints Row®: The Third™ Remastered. Date Achieved: December 4, 2022 Rarity (at the time of posting): 21.16% (Uncommon) Time to Platinum: 1 month, 1 week Enjoyment - 9/10 Difficulty - 3/10 I had such a blast playing through this game! However, the numerous bugs and glitches were very frustrating to deal with, and the random crashes proved to be quite aggravating. The challenges were also quite a grind as well. However, despite those downsides, I still had a fun time playing the game nonetheless. As someone who played Saints Row IV and Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell before Saints Row: The Third, I understand why people prefer the more grounded gameplay and story in this game than the over-the-top, superpowered, alien invasion, and hell-raising sequels that really deviated from the Saints Row series as a whole. Saints Row: The Third was over-the-top as well, but not to the extent of its sequels. Since Saints Row 2 is heralded as the best game in the series, many lamented the direction the series went when Saints Row: The Third was released, with the seriousness of the story of Saints Row 2 replaced by the over-the-top action-oriented story of its successor. Especially now with the 2022 reboot of Saints Row garnering polarizing reviews, mostly mixed to negative, it seems that the series could be now dead in the water, with series developer Volition now having been transferred to Gearbox Software. If only they had done remakes/remasters of the first two Saints Row games, things would've fared better for them. Oh well. Anyways, I now just need to complete all of the DLC trophies to fully 100% the game as a whole.

I ended up liking this game a lot! Two sisters with barely clothes on fighting zombies with swords in a non-stop blood bath, it was great!!! My only complaint is that the platinum ask you to finish the game 4 times, but on the other hand it's a short game, nothing to worry about. The story is forgettable, but it's a fun game to play and to spend a few days with, I'm happy I gave it an opportunity.
