Popular Post Undead Wolf
#435 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Just another day at the office Earn all available trophies for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® Remastered. #436 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Is That All You Got? Earn all available trophies for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 Campaign Remastered. I'll just combine my posts about both games here because I played them back-to-back. But I originally played these games when they first came out on Xbox 360. Back then I was really into the multiplayer and probably put hundreds of hours into both of these because of it. I played the singleplayer too of course, and I remember really enjoying it, but I was dumb child/teen back then, so I think a lot of it went over my head. ? It was really cool going back to these campaigns as an adult because I understood what was going on better. Remember when one of the writers of COD Vanguard claimed that this series doesn't have iconic characters? Yeah, well, they're a moron, because the likes of Soap, Price, Ghost, and Shepard are far more memorable than the "literally who" characters they wrote for that game. Some really great missions in these two games as well. Of course everyone remembers All Ghillied Up and One Shot One Kill from the original game which are just as cool as they always were. But going directly from MW1 into MW2 made me realize just how much they raised the stakes in the sequel. MW2 really does feel like a Hollywood action movie that doesn't let off the breaks for a second. It's awesome. If I had to shoutout one mission from the game though, it would have to be No Russian. Infinity Ward didn't back down even when it caused all that controversy back in the day. I wish more devs these days had those kind of balls. The trophy lists in these games are pretty similar. Both require you to beat it on Veteran, although there is an exploit you can use which means you only have to do the final checkpoint on that difficulty. That makes it pretty trivial outside of one mission in MW1 that has a pretty tough final checkpoint. It wasn't that bad though. You also need to collect all the intel in both games which is simple enough. Tons of misc trophies in both games and some related to doing specific actions in different missions, but that's just a matter of being aware of what to do. The most annoying trophy for me was Immortal from MW2 which requires you to beat every mission without dying or reloading a checkpoint. You can do it on the easiest difficulty, but that doesn't stop you getting some BS deaths like random explosions, getting run over by a vehicle, pushed off a building by an NPC, etc (yes all of that happened to me ?). I had to retry levels a fair bit, but that was mostly because I was trying to speedrun it at that point by avoiding as many fights as I could. Still, the missions are pretty short, so even if you do have to restart, it's not the end of the world. I loved revisiting these games. Honestly, these are some of the best remasters I've had the pleasure of playing. They aren't just prettier versions of the original - they're borderline remakes. You can tell a lot of love and care was put into them which is why it's a real shame that it doesn't look like MW3 will be getting the same treatment. At least i still have the MW reboot games to look forward to.

Popular Post ukiukimidnite
#97 - The Jumping Quesadilla (yeah, I know) I've never played any of these Jumping games and I've seen a lot of people talking about them recently (including the stuff about them supposedly being BANISHED from the store), so I wanted to give one a try. This one was only £1.19 (the price of like...a chocolate bar or something) and I like quesadillas. I expected it to be like My Name Is Mayo, which was at least quirky, kinda funny and had some silly customisation options too. But no - you literally just hold down X (you don't even need to keep tapping it!) and the quesadilla does a tiny bounce. That's it. You can't even put a little hat on the quesadilla! I mean...respect to the developers. There are a lot of these games and some people have dozens of them on their profile, so the devs have probably made a decent amount of money for minimal effort. Living the dream! I'm guessing Sony takes a cut of the PS Store price, so the devs might get like...75p or something from my purchase...? I hope they enjoy it! Did I enjoy my three minute experience? Not really. Would I ever even consider buying any more of these Jumping games? No. Do I feel hungry now? Yes.
Popular Post MakotoKaCun
Platinum # 118 God of War Ragnarok The Bear and the Wolf Finally able to play and finish the new GOW game. Which overall is pretty good, but to be honest few like it a slight downgrade to the previous one in the story & Gameplay part. The entire story is I guess pretty slow to build up to the climax. Alot of escort mission, slow climbing. The exploration part also come very late in the game. Unlike the previous one. I guess I still enjoy it but not as much as the previous one. But think is a good game . Still got a few bug here & there. I also kinda not liking NPC giving me tips like when I about to solve the puzzle. I think just the backtrack is still somewhat bothersome, wish I could just teleport straight to the mystic gate. instead of need to find one to teleport to one location. Since it just release recently hopefully it will be patch. So give it a try, I do enjoy the game somewhat, but not as much as the previous one for some reason. Popular Post The Alchemist
#629 Ghostwire: Tokyo I'm not sure what I expected from this game. Most of what I saw of it prior to release gave me 'meh' vibes. That being said, there was something about it that caught my interest. I'm not sure what exactly, though. However, I am pleasantly surprised for the most part by what I experienced. There's a lot to like about Ghostwire: Tokyo, but also some things to hate. The good: I really enjoyed learning about Japanese customs and culture. Virtually everything in the game gets a detailed description in the menu, even things like the various food items that are dotted throughout the game get a detailed rundown on their origins. I just thought it was a nice touch. I know the developer is Japanese, but I also liked that the voice acting was done in Japanese too, instead of English. It added to the authenticity and made for a nice change of pace. I'm not an expert on Tokyo or anything, but I feel like they did a really good job at recreating it in-game. It was pretty cool exploring the world they put together. The atmosphere was also very well done. I don't feel like the world ever lost its charm throughout my playthrough. The score was quite decent, as were the ambient sounds. It all added to the atmosphere, which was already very good. Another thing that stood out to me is the ray tracing effects. Ray tracing can be very hit or miss depending on the title, but here I thought it worked quite well given the large amount of flashing signs and neon-lit streets. It isn't a visually impressive game by any stretch, but the ray tracing and overall lighting helped to take things up a notch or two. The bad: As I mentioned earlier, the game isn't really visually impressive aside from the well done ray tracing effects and lighting which just helps to elevate it that little bit extra. But without the ray tracing I think the game overall would look quite dated. I know visuals aren't really that important in the grand scheme of things, so this is quite subjective, but I thought I'd mention it. I feel like they could have easily ported this to the last gen machines, because there's really nothing overly impressive going on under the hood. Some of the core gameplay mechanics became very repetitive after a while. For example, exposing enemy cores. There was also far too many collectibles, most of which added nothing to the game. For example, there are more than 240,000 spirits to collect. It isn't as tedious as the number might suggest, but it's still more than enough for it to become boring. I think overall there are more than 500 collectibles. Some of them get the detailed description treatment, so in a way they do add something if value, but for the most part they add nothing. They're there simply to pad the experience. Enemy variety is another thing that is severely lacking here. There's really only 7 or 8 enemy types (not counting bosses), and then 1 or 2 varieties of some of those enemy types. In other words they make 7 or 8 enemy types stretch to 20 or more, but they're practically the same throughout. And it never really matters how you take them on. There's no need for strategies or different moves. You can practically beat the game with the first power you gain, which only added to the boredom of facing the same enemy for the umpteenth time. Conclusion: Overall I enjoyed my time with the game, despite some negatives. The negatives aren't so bad that they completely ruin the experience, but they are present. Thankfully there are enough positives here to help correct the balance. From a trophy perspective, I give the platinum a 3/10 in difficulty. I played on normal difficulty throughout and I found it very manageable. The list makes you do everything there is to do, which I like, and most of the trophies will come naturally as you progress through the game. It took me 47 hours to platinum. I only followed a guide for the few remaining collectibles I had to find. I also opted to collect all spirits before finishing the story, so that I wouldn't have to replay the final couple of chapters. I'm not sure if I saved any time by doing so. Despite some of the boring aspects of the game, however, it didn't feel like too big a grind.
Popular Post Sunny
- Platinum 230 - The Last of Us Part 2 . I almost got platinum in the original back in the PS3 days on my older account, the only reason I didn't get it was because of the MP trophies, suffice to say I loved it to bits, I slept on this one mainly because of its nature since I struggle with depression, but I'm really happy I got to platinum it now, the story was...polarizing to say the least but I loved every minute of it, it tackles some really heavy subjects like how hate and anger can turn into violence and that can make the most loving person do the unspeakable, I believe I have an unpopular opinion because I don't hate Abby, actually it's the opposite, I don't see her as a villain neither but someone who had everything taken from her and by that I mean not only physically but emotionally, and we see the fallout of her actions and the impact it had on her during her chapters, surely I was biased at first but after beating the game and watching the whole duality between the two main characters and how they are different sides of the same coin my view on her shifted, specially after an unlikely alliance, to be honest I enjoyed her story far more than Ellie's and I was shocked by both characters but in different ways, like movies and music games mean different things to different people so one other thing that made a difference to me was the relationship between Ellie and Dina, I never seen a LGBTQ representation this deep in a video game before, it didn't feel like a plot device or a box that needed to be checked, it felt natural and show the care, love and respect between the two, as a gay man married to an incredible and supportive husband I could relate to them, that made me feel really happy, hard to talk about the story without spoiling too much, about the gameplay, it improved in every way possible the formula the first game brought, traversing, shooting and hiding to me everything gameplay wise felt better and more improved, I'm not one to talk about graphics but in this game would be impossible not to, the post apocalyptic Seattle looks stunning, the attention to detail was incredible, easily one of the most beautiful games I have ever played, trophy wise it's far easier than the first game by a mile, specially since the accessibility options don't disable trophies so it can be used to ones advantage if they choose to, and it's the basic just beat the game, level up and collect a lot of stuff, just to finish, this was a game I didn't expect anything and it delivered me everything, it was as beautiful as it was brutal, easily one of the best games I have ever played. Popular Post insaneeeRob
Kingpin Saints Row: The Third (ps3 version) Finally I got this plat!!! This is my first time finishing a SR game and my experience was really good. The clothing, guns, characters and cars were amazing. I believe it took me like 48 hours to finish this and some missions were a little bit rough but nothing that you can't beat in a few tries. The kinzie missions were you have to protect her with a heli was a nightmare and some of the car theft too. This is my last platinum of the year and it's acutally my 12 platinum in a row since I got one each month from january to december! Im looking foward SR 4, Gat out of hell and the new one that came out this year.
Popular Post Leon Castle
#237 Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream 6th Dec 2022 Set between Atelier Sophie and Atelier Firis. The 4th game in the Mysterious Sub-Series. "Sometime after Sophie leaves her hometown of Kirchen Bell to become a state-licensed alchemist(and Firis's Mentor), she and Plachta finds a strange tree and a mysterious black vortex appears to pull in both Sophie and Plachta, later Sophie wakes up in a new world and Plachta is nowhere to be seen. To find Plachta, Sophie and her new friends set out on a new adventure in this strange new world" Fighting the final boss on Very Hard difficulty took some tries but after learning how to make a lot of time cards and not worry too much about the KOed Party members, it took a long time but I defeated the boss even if I did not have the best weapons for Ramizel and Diebold, the last of Diebold's Dual Triggers and not 100% the same equipment (more like 80% with at least 2 of the recommend traits). Hope that Ryza 3 goes back to having post-game bosses instead of the "fight the final story boss on Very Hard difficulty" Plat Screenshot
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#429: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure This one was kind of a mixed bag. Looking at it now, it lacks a lot compared to Eyes Of Heaven; there's more of MOST things, like characters and stages, but it's also lacking In a lot of areas as well, like in regards to series representation. We have small things like Parts 1, 2 and 8 still only having one stage each, And then we have the more noticeable screw-ups, Like the lack of anything added to part 8. Jojolion finished its manga run recently, yet it still has the same exact representation as the PS3 version from 9 years ago. The same character interactions, the same one note personality from Josuke. Did they really not have anything to work with? It can't be because of spoilers, there is at least one series ahead of this one. Some new characters are brought over, but others were dropped (IE Stronheim, N'Doul, parallel Diego, Joshu). Secondary characters can be used as an assist, but nothing else. No switching out characters, no fancy things like dual team up attacks; which is weird because one of the things I did not like about EOH was how everything seemed reliant on the team mechanics, where here the idea of a second character seems underutilized. I said from the start that I would have been perfectly fine if they copied all of the characters and stages, Maybe even the team up dual heat attacks, from EOH and move them over here, but they didn't even do that. Or rather, they started to, but quit halfway. The gameplay is also uneven. The minute to minute fighting feels alot faster and tighter, resulting in more combo opportunities, and yet there's the still the match-halting taunts/throws/power-ups. Just alot of stop-and-go everytime I play. This feels like Sonic Colors and SpongeBob rehydrated, updated versions of prior games that don't go as far as they should have. Popular Post Trancexistence
#30 - MediEvil I enjoyed my time with this remake of a much loved PS1 title and it took me right back to my high school years. Really liked the visuals and updated graphics. I thought Other Ocean did a great job with that but I do wish they'd evolved the gameplay a bit as the platforming remains a bit ropey leading to a few cheap deaths (Pools of the Ancient Dead I'm looking at you) along with an uncooperative camera that spins around with the speed of a tank turret (or sometimes not at all which was endlessly annoying). All of this was done by design and to remain as true to the original game, so I do get the logic behind it. So yeah, overall I had fun here despite the odd annoying moment. A nice call back to a golden era of gaming that I grew up with. Next up for me is finishing up with the Ridge Racer Vita platinum which may very well be my last one of the year. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be my next console game but I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish that one off too. Popular Post Adilya
#156 God of War Ragnarök Rating: 10/10 Playtime: 54 hours After picking up God of War Ragnarök on release I hardly put it down until I got the platinum trophy. It improves upon the first game in nearly every way and I had an amazing time in the 50 or so hours I spend with it. As with the first game, the narrative this time around is fantastic. The characters, both new and old, are amazing and the dialogue between them is extremely well written and performed. While you're out exploring during or in between the main story, there's never a dull moment as characters are constantly having conversations, and you can really tell how much effort went into this to make sure it never gets cut off and dialogue changes based on who is accompanying you. The combat plays very similar to the first game, with a bit of refinement here and there. The biggest addition is the new weapon, which adds a whole new, extremely fun playstyle to the mix. Combined with the two existing weapons, runic attacks, relics and companion abilities you have plenty of ways to brutally murder your enemies. There is also a new aspect to the combat that I can't really elaborate on due to spoilers, but I'll just say it was a nice addition and done in such a way that it did not outstay its welcome. The presentation of the game is top-notch. It's technically held back a bit due to its PS4 support, but that's only really noticeable with the tight corridors that serve as loading screens, as the game runs at a stable 60fps and looks as impressive as the best PS5 exclusives. The environments are stunning and all look very different, full or flora and fauna to make the world feel alive, with a great attention to detail. This makes exploration feel great and until the end-game I don't think I ever really paid attention to my quest log as I was just taking in the sights and trying to explore every little nook and cranny, eager to see all there is to see. Ragnarök is probably my game of the year so it's no shock that I'd recommend it to everyone. It is an amazing journey and you'll love spending time with all these amazing characters. After this masterpiece, I can't wait to see what Santa Monica can accomplish when they are no longer bound to the limitations of the PS4.
