Popular Post MatThaRiPP3R84
Chorus PS5 Satisfaction/Fun: 10/10 this is a great game, really fun, at first it plays out like your typical Ubiscum snorefest but it surprises again and again with a willingness to do the open world formula slightly different. The Abilities you get are immensely satisfying to use, nothing beats the satisfaction of doing a strafing run accross the bow of a star ship nailing all the weakspots and blowing it up, the character and story is well written and extremely interesting, as it feels like you've opened a 800 page book at page 200 and are kinda just supposed to know who all theese people/factions are, and slowly introduces you into a huge world you feel will keep going with or without you. it's great, really can't praise this enough. Popular Post PotrikBerger
Grant Theft Auto - Vice City (ps5) Anticipation - interested to revisit a game i last played when it came out on the ps2 way back when. It was something completely different back then. Real hit songs from real life on the in game radio, voiced by actors I was watching at the cinema at the time all wrapped up in a game that offered freedom rarely seen by its peers - 3/5 Enjoyment - From memory there were one or two incredibly hard missions and anything to do with a plane I was dreading. Playing now in 2022 it almost feels easy. Was a bit taken back by how little a challenge it posed. Wondering what my younger self was playing at!? Still, for the nostalgia alone this was fun to play. Missions are super quick, voice acting is good and music is chefs kiss. But if I was coming at this new in 2022 it may feel more like an appetiser rather than a main course. Either way it was pretty tasty - 3/5 Retrospect - It was ok. Everything felt just the right balance apart from the need to do 100 taxi fares! One thing to be said about days before trophies, I never would have wasted time doing 70 taxi fares back to back! Glad I gave it a go, but think I’ve now scratched whatever itch I had and don’t really have much interest in playing the other two in the trilogy which got this remaster/face lift. GTA III was a bit before my time so never played the original. I didn’t much like San Andreas the first time round so without the nostalgia I had with this one, I’m not sure I’d enjoy the others as much - 2/5
Popular Post Dauersack
Battlezone #68: Platinum Trophy A game about futuristic tank battles, optional multiplayer, challenging design with a tough as nails extreme difficulty mode and an unreasonably grindy silver trophy to make this beastly platinum my second rarest platinum sharing the rarest trophy cabinet with Orcs Must Die Unchained, a game that followed a similar formular aside from the difficulty. Battlezones was challenging but fun on normal already, with a pretty steep learning curve and demanding quite some skill, consistency and luck to survive the higher difficulties, which caused some rage to be sure but were quite rewarding to complete. The game has a good variety of enemies, from super speedy little glass cannon fuckers over flying bombers and defense structures all the way to super slow rolling heavy armor enemy who packed a serious punch and could end each high difficulty round in an instant, and more than enough different weapons and items to deal with the enemies. To some of the ones who made it through the challenge part, the platinum breaker that put this trophy so low in terms of rarity was the unreasonably grindy silver trophy for the data collection, asking the player to invest several times as many hours into the game all over again after everything else is already done. I can't say that I approve of this kind of trophy design, but I certainly have experience with it and developed a super high resistance against it, so it was clear to me from the start that I would go all the way and complete this game. People who are not hellbent on completing this will find a fun game to play that offers both low and high difficulties for every taste, as well as the normal mode and the classic mode, people who aim to complete it look at a several month long committment, with most of the time spent in mind numbing grind.

Popular Post kkulifay
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (PS5). Completion Time: 89 hours. Pros: Excellent story with a nice graphical display, for a LEGO game at least, on Fidelity Mode. Plethora of fun characters to play and the diversity of locations made this a very enhanced overall experience compared to its predecessors. Cons: For a platinum trophy perspective, I do not recommend it. 1200 kyber bricks was overkill! I think 30-40 hrs for a LEGO game platinum is kind of pushing it, it took my son and I almost 90 hrs. We just wanted to get it over with towards the end. Overall, it feels satisfying adding this to my LEGO collection because I really adore playing the series with my 7-year old. I just want hunters to be mentally prepared for the tedious grind with this one, especially if you dreaded earlier titles. This one is the AC Valhalla of all LEGO games haha ?

Popular Post KenjiCBZ
#88: WWE 2K22 All Trophies Earned (5.63% - Very Rare) Earn all trophies. After WWE 2K20 was poorly received, 2K Games took a one year hiatus and skipped the 2020 game, focusing more on WWE 2K22. WWE 2K20 was mostly poorly received because of several glitches happening in-game: thankfully, I never encountered any of them and I actually enjoyed the game a lot, so let's see if WWE 2K22 was as good as the prequel, for me. For some reason, they decided to change the gameplay, implementing a combo system and setting three buttons to reverse according to the opponent's attack, instead of just one button: even through I didn't feel like a change in the gameplay was needed, I soon appreciated it. The Showcase Mode was focused on Rey Mysterio's career, and it turned out being a huge disappointment: ever since they introduced such modes back in WWE 2K14, I always liked them, but this year the mode was truly lackluster. I feel like matches were poorly chosen: for example, why in the heck would you pick Rey's match against Kane at Cyber Sunday 2008, seriously, who cares about it? Also, I disliked how the matches always got interrupted by Rey's commentary and footage of the real match: I think it was better like they had always done in the previous games, just having the in-game match going on through cutscenes and having commentary from commentators, rather than the Wrestler. MyRise Mode, which is a sort of successor of MyCareer Mode, was also a little disappointing. Not a bad mode, I appreciate how they tried to recreate the old Season Modes from SmackDown Vs Raw games, but I found most stories being very short, generic and inconsistent. Not to mention that several shows would be skipped, like, just one match between January and April when technically you should compete every week... Still an ok mode, but if we exclude the shitty Career Mode of WWE 2K15 through 18, I think that this mode is definitely the worst Career/Season Mode I have played, out of the good ones. In this game they also reintroduced the GM Mode, which was featured in SmackDown vs Raw 2006, 2007 and 2008: pretty much every fan loves this mode and wanted it back since several years, and finally they have it back... But the thing is, I always hated that mode, lol. It's basically a managerial game where you play as the General Manager of a WWE's brand but I always hated managierals, they just make zero sense at all to me. Thankfully, the Trophies related to this mode were easy, so I only "played" it for like an hour before moving on. About the WWE Universe, it's pretty much the same: it was the spiritual successor of the GM Mode since SmackDown vs Raw 2010, and now that GM Mode is back, they decided to keep both modes. This mode also makes zero sense at all, shittiest mode ever so I couldn't care less. Let's just move on. In the end, we have, MyFaction, which is the mode where I spent most of my time: here, you collect cards of various rarities to form your team of wrestlers to compete against other teams. Even though this mode is online only, you don't compete against other players, but against AI. There are various challenges to complete and it was funny playing the mode trying to complete them: thankfully, in the 4vs4 matches related to that mode, non legal opponents would rarely interfere with your pinfall attempts, unlike in the older games where they would always ruin your performance. If that was the case here too, the Platinum would surely be much rarer, since you need to win a lot of these 4vs4 matches. Thankfully, with time, more valuable cards got released and getting them got easier, so maybe now you need to play less matches/for less hours compared to how much I did. Overall, WWE 2K22 is an ok WWE game, nothing more, nothing less, I had a lot more fun with 2K20: MyGM and the new gameplay were not needed at all, WWE Universe not matter what game it sucks, and 2K20's Career was better than 2K22's MyRise, just like the women's Showcase of 2K20 was better than Rey Mysterio's Showcase of 2K22. Only MyFaction was a good alternative of playing online against other players, but that's pretty much it.

I honestly don’t blame you for your critique on some of the game modes as compared to the earlier entries. Although the game is certainly better than 2K20, this doesn’t exactly sit at the top of the best WWE games list. If you ever plan on going for the other trophy stack, everything else would need to be earned again except for MyFaction, where your stuff gets carried over and you can instantly pop the trophies by doing something like winning one more Faction Wars match for instance.

Popular Post Eqill5
Platinum #62 - The Messenger I can’t remember who I seen posting recommending this, but thank you. THANK YOU! This starts of as an 8bit linear 2D action platformer and turns into a 8bit/16bit (the game switches between the two) Metroidvania. And my first of this genre! I knew when I watched the trailer for it I would enjoy this a lot and it didn’t let me down. The controls are so fluid, the levels and bosses are fun and look great, I enjoyed the music and the humour was pretty good, light fun. It’s by no means difficult either. Some of the collectibles can pose a challenge as you can only reach them by using a method called “Cloudstepping” which is where you jump, use a downward attack on an enemy/interactable object, which then allows you to double jump to reach higher places and repeat. Sometimes you have to Cloudstep a lot without landing which was fun and reminded me of the game Dustforce. You can tell a lot of love went into making The Messenger and I honestly would recommend it. ——————— After a little research I’ve found the following two games I’d like to play that are similar style. Popular Post Thrillhelm
#2655 Headbangers in Holiday Hell Meddl loide, this is another easy platinum from Ratalaika, with an awesome platinum pic. Do not confuse the easy platinum with shovelware, this is a full-fledged roguelike twin-stick shooter with low requirements for platinum. I mean you can fight through your small town, kill tons of elves (you can also destroy a good chunk of your environment), until you whack Santa Claus himself. All you need are some specific kills, finishing one level without being hit, save 25 of your headbanger pals and upgrade your weapon. It's not the most creative list, even for Ratalaika standards.
Popular Post StraightVege
#CantKillProgress #314 2.36% Ultra Rare Quite curious what happened during development to leave this game in a clearly incomplete state. Focus entirely on the rushed story missions, and it's a shockingly brief experience, not to mention how several side-quests have their objectives placed practically next to each other in the same, compact area. I could be wildly off base with my speculation here, but I wouldn't be surprised if devoting valuable resources to creating the dreadfully boring and tacked on Breach Mode was a large part of the problem. Encouraged by the greedy publisher to sell microtransactions, perhaps? The open world city hub might have been too ambitious as well, but that's enough guessing on my part. It's still pretty good despite the brevity, don't get me wrong, but nowhere near as memorable as Human Revolution in my view. On the Deus Ex timeline, this one takes place in 2029, during a period of vehement discrimination against mechanically augmented people. Following the previous game's unfortunate events, enhanced folks like protagonist Adam Jensen are treated as second-class citizens, subjected to police brutality, and segregated into ghettos. Worse yet, a terrifying United Nations resolution is proposed, which if passed, would force all transhumans to have a control chip implanted, stripping them of their bodily autonomy. Of course, this being DX and all, a wealthy and powerful cabal of shadowy figures lurks in the background, pulling strings to ensure the resolution is enacted to further their own interests. With an augmented rights group now seemingly being framed for terrorist bombings, Jensen is in the privileged position to throw a wrench in their plans, due to his role at Interpol's TF29 unit providing both necessary resources and some immunity from what his fellow cyborgs are suffering through. Well, that, along with his badass suite of experimental augmentations, comprehensive stealth training, and secret connection to a hacktivist collective who work diligently to expose the Illuminati. Oh cyberpunk, how I love you. Personally, I didn't find the overarching conspiracy plot terribly compelling. Where the game really shines for me is in its optional missions, which are not only fascinating little mysteries for ex-cop Jensen to solve, but feature some of the game's most nuanced exploration of subjects such as institutional corruption in policing, corporatocracy, bigotry, and so forth. One I thought was particularly poignant has Adam investigating a serial killer of the augmented, partnering with a jaded old detective who candidly admits that his superiors don't really care if the real murderer of some "clank" (derogatory term for the mechanically enhanced) is ever apprehended. Minor spoilers ahead: the perpetrator turns out to be a socially anxious person who underwent experimental treatment, by having the traits of an impulsive killer melded with their personality. Speaking as a lifelong sufferer of the disorder myself, this quest inspired some contemplation of my beliefs. I've always thought that I'd do damn near anything overcome it, but I suppose being transformed into a completely different person for the sake of having more confidence in social situations would be a step too far. Wouldn't mind having Jensen's sweet CASIE aug, though! Overall, the writing rarely devolves into bothsidesism, although there are some reductive takes. Animations and voice acting are also a mixed bag in terms of quality, similar to Human Revolution, but they're not poor enough to be distracting (comical at times, however). As for Jensen as a character, he remains lovable as usual; regardless of the dialogue options you choose, it's always evident that a very decent man exists beneath the cold exterior. Outside of bespoke missions, there's plenty of immersive sim goodness to be had in the capital city of Prague. Nearly every last apartment, store, and dead-end alley is utterly littered with loot, lore, and environmental storytelling clues to find. This is welcomed, since I play Adam as an obsessive kleptomaniac, robbing everyone blind in plain view, and snooping on every personal email. Strangely, no one seemed to be concerned with my asshole behavior, other than cops and gang members. Jensen's augmented abilities also feel more varied and formidable than in HR, with additions like Icarus Dash (also known as Blink from Dishonored) and Remote Hacking really opening the city up for exploration, and catering well to every playstyle in stealth or open combat. Whether you prefer sneaky stuff or a guns blazing approach, the questionable AI won't pose a significant gameplay challenge against Adam's overpowered gadgets. This fact is more of a positive than anything, however, because it makes for a satisfying transhumanist power fantasy. I felt more like a cyborg supersoldier here than I did in the prior game, so I can't complain much. Early on, the game does limit your strength somewhat, since Jensen's systems can only handle so many experimental augs being active simultaneously, before the overclocking has detrimental effects. Being forced to pick and choose was an interesting idea, but this limitation is eventually removed, and it doesn't have a noticeable impact to begin with. Not sure why they bothered, honestly. Generally, I noticed a number of improvements to visuals, user interface, and reduced clunkiness compared to HR. Happy they removed the urine filter, too, which always made me feel slightly ill. So, while I think it features a number of improvements over its predecessor, it's still tough to totally excuse how Mankind Divided turned out. Fortunately, the downloadable content does flesh out the experience enough to make it feel like a bit more than half a game, to be fair. A solid Deus Ex entry when you ignore Breach, but I wouldn't say it surpasses Human Revolution, all things considered, nor does it compete with the finest immersive sims out there. Dishonored 2 has spoiled me, I suppose. I asked for this: Edited December 23, 2022 by StraightVege

Popular Post MrGarland
Platinums #148 (PS4) and #149 (PS5) Sonic Origins Difficulty: 2/10 Overall enjoyment: 10/10 Sonic Mega Collection for the GameCube is one of the most memorable things to me when it comes to gaming. It was the introduction for me to the Sonic series, but more importantly, the classic 16-bit games. I have a lot of great memories playing them, as I used to play the collection at my friend's home. Playing some of the games in co-op or sometimes facing each other in Vs mode was a lot of fun. I did buy the re-release, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, later and I played it with my siblings. I still have my original copy, as well as a brand new sealed one I got from someone years ago. In the end, I'm glad I got the chance to play them back then, and not many years later. Then we have Sonic Origins. I'm pretty sure many people still remember the disastrous pre-order launch this collection had. I personally avoided that, as there were no interesting bonuses and instead waited till it was on sale. Once I saw that, I bought it. What about the collection? There’s not much to say. It’s a good way to celebrate Sonic’s 31st anniversary by bringing a few classic games to the modern consoles, but that’s pretty much it. Still, I enjoyed revisiting them, with Sonic 3 & Knuckles in particular. I haven’t played that for almost 10 years or so. As enjoyable as revisiting the classics was, I have one major complaint to make. Some of the level songs used in Sonic 3 & Knuckles are replaced with different ones. I’m fine with that they made some changes like removing voiced lines from Sonic and Amy in Sonic CD, but to replace some of the most memorable songs from that game wasn’t the best idea. The new songs used for the Carnival Night Zone sounds ok, Icecap Zone sounds pretty good, but the Launch Base Zone? Nowhere as memorable as the original ones, which actually had lyrics, even though it was nothing but “Go” (or as a twelve-year old me at the time thought, “Yo”). Also, what’s the point of turning off the music whenever you defeat a boss in that game? I don’t remember that happening in the other ports, so what gives? I also encountered two glitches while playing the collection for the first time. Since I’ve never had them happen before, I’m not sure if you can trigger them when playing the original versions or other ports. The first glitch occurred when playing Sonic 2. By the time I reached the boss of Aquatic Ruin Zone, I had collected all the Chaos Emeralds. I defeated the boss while in Super form, and somehow ended up flying so far that I missed the capsule at the end of the level. I did release it, but for some reason, I decided to move off the screen, and I somehow ended up dying during the level results. I had to defeat the boss once more. The second glitch occurred when playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I faced the major boss in Sandopolis Zone Act 2 while in Hyper form and I only managed to hit the boss a few times before I was killed by nothing. The only explanation I can think of is that I was somehow crushed by the hide that covers the boss. Otherwise, I got nothing. Despite that the collection isn’t perfect, I enjoyed revisiting the classics. Shame that it doesn’t have enough content to stand out, like all other collections released in the past. I still think Sonic Mega Collection and its re-release, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, as my favorites. Also, in case you’re wondering what my favorite games from this collection are, I’ll tell you. Although I enjoy all of them equally, my personal favorites are Sonic CD and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. For the former one, it’s because of the time travel mechanics, some of the most unique boss battles in the series and of course, excellent JP/EU soundtrack. The US soundtrack is good, but it’s nowhere as memorable. For the latter, I’ve played it so many times in the past, so I’ll say that it’s the easiest of the bunch, as I ended up clearing that game with more than enough lives. For Sonic, I finished the game with 30+ lives, while as Knuckles, about half the less. Still, I like it how has technically a New Game+, allowing you to revisit the levels, in case you’re missing some of the Chaos/Super Emeralds or if you just want to go crazy while in Super/Hyper form. Finally, I should note that I didn’t use the debug mode to get the platinums faster. I wanted to take my time and enjoy these classics again. I also went for the good ending in each game, all the time. It feels more satisfying to do that than rushing it. For some reason, I find this image amusing. It’s as if Sonic’s about to kick the enemy in the face or something. By the way, am I the only one who thinks that these platforms have faces? Ever since I saw this for the first time years ago, I haven’t stopped wondering that every time I reach that part. By the way, I got the platinum from the PS5 version of this collection on my 29th birthday (December 19th). I haven't done any birthday platinums in several years, so I'd so this year. PS. Sega, where’s Knuckles’ Chaotix? I’m aware of that the game wasn’t a success, but it’s the only Sonic game from the 16-bit era that I haven’t played, and it seems to have its fans. If you can rerelease the other games, why not this one? Next project: Next up, the 150th platinum milestone. I already screwed up the 100th one. Just to give a recap, my 100th platinum was supposed to be Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but because of reasons, I ended putting that game on halt and did something else instead, which was Burnout Paradise: Remastered. Not the most convenient one, but I needed something to calm me down back then. At least I got the online trophies done easily. So, what game is it going to be? I had several ideas for that. Some of these include the PS5 version of Crash 4 (no auto-pop), a game that can be considered as the most American game ever made (can you guess which game I'm referring to) and the PS5 version of Atelier Ryza 2 (great game). I was considering doing the latter one, but after a lot of thought, I decided to choose one specific game for the milestone, and that game being: Spoiler Oh, how long I’ve been planning to start this. In fact, I think it’s as early as 2009 when I heard one of the game's songs (which still stands as one of my favorite boss battle themes). Since then, I've been planning to start it slowly, yet surely. Because it has received a HD remaster for the PS4 and I’ve never played it before, I'm very excited to finally experience it. The road may be long, but I'm looking forward to see what the game has to offer. Before I start working on that, I'll take some time off from gaming once again and focus on other things for a while. I still have a huge backlog of everything else, so I'm going to give some time for those. I'll be back to platinum hunting on January 9th. That's when my winter break starts and I'm going to start it then. Edited January 3, 2023 by MrGarland
