Popular Post Onetime
Platinum #181 - One step from Eden Enjoyment - 8.5/10 Difficulty - 5/10 Platinum Time - 15 Hours This is a game that definitely surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. If you are a fan of the Megaman Battle Network games and/or an enjoyer of deck building and roguelikes then this might scratch an itch that you might not know you had. What it lacks in story it makes up for in fast paced action gameplay and satisfying deck building and straightforward gameplay loop. As with all good roguelikes the number of unique build options are numerous, ranging from a high risk high reward flame/burn deck, where the goal is to ignite the entire board on fire to shield decks where you become nearly unkillable and slam people with your shield. The best part is there are unique artifacts that can link different builds together, giving way more diverse options together than initially expected. Runs can range from anywhere between 20 - 50 minutes depending on what type of deck/build you are going as well as your familiarity with the game. Even after spending 15 hours with the game, there are numerous unlocks for new rare spells, skins, character types to unlock that gives a very satisfying progression loop. There are 9 unique playable characters, each with 1-3 versions/skins that favor different builds, giving you access to any type nearly all of the different playstyles you can take. A core aspect of what makes this game so entertaining is that there are 200+ spells and 150+ artifacts to choose from. Although this may seem daunting and would make it difficult to build a preferred loadout, a feature that this game has (that I wish a lot of roguelikes have) is that you can select core preferences for different deck archetypes so that rewards that pop up during the run are more likely to lean towards the choice and help you make a more streamlined build. However, one of the biggest issues is that given the limited grid space, there can be too much action on the screen at a given time (especially late game bosses). The soundtrack is honestly great as well, with much of the music matching the fast paced gameplay and really accentuating the varied and tough boss fights that are present. Touching a little bit on the story, I found it to be quite sparse, with no cutscenes or much dialogue during the runs itself. You travel through 4 different biomes (each with two different bosses) for a total of 8 "worlds" to get through and based on the three different routes you can take (pacifist, neutral, genocide) providing a different end game boss/9th world and ending cutscene. This is one of the rare type of games that I keep finding myself thinking about different types of synergies and going back to to play some runs Given how quickly you can breeze through the game, I find myself itching to go back and try something else regardless of if I won or lost. One of the reasons I wanted to post about this game is that I really do wish it had more players! There is a great trophy guide and extensive wiki that people have clearly put a lot of time into and I just had a great time with it overall. Following the creator on twitter after beating the game, I found he is creating a pvp style game based in the same world/characters which looks awesome too!

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #272 LEGO Lord of the Rings (PS Vita) One Ring to build them all.Obtain all other Trophies. I like plat icon on this game. I just wish it wasn't a white background. ._. I had a lot of fun with this one. It was actually very polished and I didn't have a lot of glitches. There's just one very specific jump that is really fucking annoying to do on one of the last levels as you jump up with Legolas from a grab point, to a rope then to a small plank and then have to jump up into the elephant's thing to kill the enemies. You end up hitting the top a lot, or falling off since there's not a lot of 'snap' to the platforming. But overall it was fun. Aside from load times... and it suffering from the early compression of LEGO games on Vita. That's a bummer. Well, I have to acknowledge the framerate. It's not great in the little hub towns/worlds. And the camera is super slow moving in them (probably helps the low framerate not drop even more). It feels like you turned on a slow motion brick! But, it's not a big deal to me. I like it conceptually. Now I'm really itching to play the PS3 version, because I wonder if this type of thing is how that version was built too. Just better. Very curious. The only time I was really frustrated (climbing elephant thing aside), was the way they setup certain things. So you can track the levels and all it's collectables. Yay~ There's even a map!...... but none of it is together. You have to go to the shop to check your collectables on the hubs and levels. And for some reason this menu doesn't allow you to quickly replay or teleport you to the place you want. That's so weird to me. And the map doesn't show any collectable information on it either. It's just so frustrating to have to go into a menu, wait for all the loading, etc. And it's really annoying trying to replay the levels as I ended up forgetting two levels and having to look up where they even were. xP Oh wait, that's not the only one. The character randomization in the free play is trash. I love the idea, and again idk if the PS3 version is the same or not, but it gets really annoying to get a bunch of new tools and upgrades as individual characters only for the free play to give you the basic bitch version who can't do anything. Why would I want Gimli that can't smash the required blocks over the one who can? Priorize what works. This wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it does sadly have issues displaying the character change button. It seems like if you stand in a certain spot or space it won't appear. I don't know what the issue is really, but moving to a different spot 99% of the time allowed me to do it. *shrug* Music is LotR so amazing of course. The gameplay is actually pretty involved compared to a lot of LEGO games. You can block projectiles. Sadly only one instance of allowing you to counter/send back magic during a 'boss' with Gandalf, if it had that counter throughout the game that'd be nice. There are enemies that require stuns which you can do with circle. Which either stuns or knocks them down for a 1-hit ground stab. Granted you can just hack away or charge move them like any LEGO game, but there's at least something interesting there. Random memory unlocked, there's ONE instance of PULLING something that was really stupid I thought the game was glitching one of the Bree collectables, but it had you pull a statue instead of push it. Even though you never do that in the actual game. Makes no sense to me. Not the best looking game, but I had a lot of fun with it. Revitalized me after The Hobbit with it's issues. So on to LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens. I just have two more LEGO games left on Vita before my backlog is cleared of them. That and Jurassic World. Haven't seen either movie and have no interest in either lol, but I like a LEGO game even if they frustrate me sometimes.

On Xbox 360 and ps3 there is a game breaking 97 percent glitch. Some items are invisible in the hub world so you can't collect them. They did patch it on 360 but I don't think they did on ps3. So its broken.
Popular Post Valzentia
#146 - Super Stardust Portable (PS4) Difficulty: 5/10 (even with Rewind) Fun: 5/10 If you don't care about trophies, or are up for a good challenge, then this is a really good game. I enjoyed it until I went for the platinum and it kind of fucking drove me insane. Will I do the PS5 stack? Yes, because i'm both completely insane and I also hate myself. If I wasn't going for trophies then I would have given this an 8.5/10 for fun, but alas. Maybe the PS5 version will give me better luck...?
Popular Post Moridin83
#251 The Messenger I got this off plus, and wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I ended up having fun with it. It starts out like old school Ninja Gaiden-ish until about halfway through where it opens up to more of a metroidvania. It's easier than any of the old school Ninja Gaiden games, but it does have its fair share of challenging platforming if you're going for the plat and especially the 100%. Thankfully, the checkpoints are generous, so you don't typically lose much progress when you die. The humor was up my alley, and the game controlled well. Definitely worth checking out.

Popular Post Biscoito18
#154 - Ape Escape No Ape Can Escape! Platinum in 1 week, 4 days Rarity: 40.06% (Uncommon) Difficulty: 2.5/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 The controls are so counterintuitive, especially the jump button and for using gadgets. But the camera is still the worst enemy. It gets a little easier once you get used to it but until the end I kept constantly having to stop for a second to remember which button to press. The monkeys are funny though. #155 - Life is Strange What If? Platinum in 1 week, 3 days Rarity: 33.14% (Uncommon) Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 I thought this game was going to be so boring and pretentious. I was so wrong. The plot is very well presented, the rewind mechanic is brilliantly done, especially when it's optional (like in the drug dealer confrontation), the soundtrack is phenomenal and I ended up really caring about the main characters to the point of seriously consider between the two options of the final choice. This and "The Wolf Among Us" are now my favorite dramatic point-and-click games. A masterclass on how to develop this type of episodic game. #156 - Lost In Random Random Rules! Platinum in 1 week, 3 days Rarity: 27.45% (Uncommon) Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 This is one of the hidden gems I found through this thread. What a beautiful and charismatic game! The gameplay becomes a little repetitive and some characters talk too much (but there's an option to skip dialogues) but the real charm of LIR is its extremely creative world, excellent voice actors and gorgeous character and setting design. I love Dicey so much.
Popular Post s68sc
#139 Platinum Difficulty 1/10 - Story 10/10 I wanted to play something with a Good Story and also with a short Platinum. This game was perfect, probably one of the best Story Telling Walking Sim, I've ever played. I'm going to do the PS4 stack later this year for sure, to revisit this beautiful game, I don't want to spoil the story because you need to play it, which is about 2 hours, so you can actually complete it in a day and if you miss something you can use chapter select.

Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #140 & Platinum #141 Axiom Verge 2 [PS4] & Axiom Verge 2 [PS5] Wielder - You have shed all vestiges of your former self. [PS4] Wielder - You have shed all vestiges of your former self. [PS5] 3,764 Owners - 405 Achievers for a percentage of 10.76% (Rare) (average completion; 17.29%) [PS4] 5,152 Owners - 178 Achievers for a percentage of 3.45% (Ultra Rare) (average completion; 5.78%) [PS5] Enjoyment; 6/10 Difficulty; 2/10 Trophies; 4/10 (very heavy on collectibles, no creativity in names or tiles) I still don't understand the story; 10/10 When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When PS Plus gives you a game you never heard of as part of the monthly line-up for Essential, you carefully research it before deciding to play it. And sometimes, you do indeed play it. I had sincerely never heard of Axiom Verge - neither the original nor the sequel - up until the PS Plus Essential selections for January leaked. Just the title - Axiom Verge, what even is an Axiom? - sounded weird to my ears so I went and read up on it; developed by what is essentially just one guy, this is a futuristic Metroidvania dealing with the concepts of parallel worlds and other assorted science fiction stuff. Had a look at the Trophy list, seemed doable, and so off I went to play the PS4 version. If you're not obsessed with photorealistic graphics and can appreciate a retro aesthetic, you'll find that Axiom Verg 2 is just gorgeous; lots of brilliant backgrounds depicting a fair few pretty biomes that make up a large, complex game world for you to explore. Whenever you reach a new area you're treated to a very distinct new look. There are some very weird-looking objects and enemies included, one of which is visible above, but overall nothing that I considered too jarring - it all fits in with the distinctly alien theme the developer was shooting for, As far as Metroidvanias go, the game is excellent at just spitting you out into the starting location and letting you just get on with whatever you want to do; you're not funnelled down a set path, but can instead explore at your own pace, with plenty of backtracking to do as you unlock new items. There are plenty of bosses trundling around, but you only need to kill the final one to complete the story; literally every single other boss is optional and can be spared - and there is a Trophy for doing so. However, every single boss also awards a separate Trophy for being beaten, so you'll need to commit to killing them at least once in the 'post-game' (you're essentially set back to just before the final boss once you complete the game) if you want your Plat. One of the game's main selling points is the existence of a separate world called the Breach that sits behind the overworld, with portals and an unlockable ability giving you the option to move between both. I found this more annoying than anything else, as it forced a lot of switching around when really I was just content with sitting in the overworld. The Breach does have its own separate aesthetic - one that's even more retro than the overworld - so there's at least something it offers. Ultimately though, I'm just not that big on Metroidvanias, and as a result, I'm just not fully in love with Axiom Verge 2. Nonetheless, I don't regret playing through twice as it offered more than enough not to become a drag. Trophy-wise, this is a short and poor list that insists on 100% completion and ties a lot of Trophies to 'Find all of X'. There's a speedrun Trophy tossed in as well but with such a generous time limit that it might as well not have been included, and besides the 'Don't kill bosses' challenge there's just not much to write home about. The overall rarity, however..... as a general PS Plus game you can expect this to be a bit rarer than usual, but I find the number for both stacks are way off from where they should be. The PS4 version is the lesser played one but the Plat is close to Very Rare when it shouldn't be, and the PS5 version has a slew of Ultra Rares, although these are steadily climbing towards Very Rare. This is because the PS5 version was glitched from release up until last week, with Trophies not unlocking whenever the conditions for two or more were met at the same time. This meant that the completion Trophies often times would refuse to unlock, leading to many more full playthroughs than necessary. However, on my save file - started before the patch, finished after the patch - I had zero serious issues (although a few of the suspect Trophies didn't visually pop on the screen, they do all show as unlocked in the Trophy folder). All in all, Axiom Verge 2 is a decent little game, fun enough to warrant a playthrough although perhaps not compelling enough to see through to the Plat unless you're really keen on the genre. I'd encourage you to check it out on an alt account so as not to have to worry about completing it - although that's sage advice that goes for most everything on PS Plus anyway!

Popular Post mega-tallica
InFamous Enjoyment: 4/5 - What a joy to revisit this classic and finish off the platinum after 15 years or however long it's been since I first played it. Has its moments of being frustrating especially on hard difficulty and certainly solidifies itself as my least favorite InFamous game but it's still better than most. The games in the series that proceeded it were just better all around. What keeps it mainly from being a 5/5 is the stupid, infamous blast shards and the hunt you inevitably have to go through to find the last few you need. Those are hours I wish I could get back. Some grindy trophies too that took away from the experience. Difficulty: 2.5/5 - Most people and guides will tell you the final boss on hard is the most difficult part in getting the platinum. I disagree, Kessler is easy as you can just spam dodge and avoid all his attacks, including the annoying shockwave attack and just dodge right through it before it hits you, and then pummel him when he's stunned with rockets. Beat him 2nd try. No, the more difficult part were those 3-4 final missions before facing Kessler. Those suck on hard as the final area enemies are just bullet-sponges, or in this case, electric lightning-sponges and they just throw so many at you at once which gets annoying quickly when every attack that hits you starts knocking you back leaving you vulnerable to get hit again. 2 unfortunate timed knock back hits and you're dead. Got cheap killed a lot during those last few missions. Overall, it's significantly easier than most other games on hard and the checkpoints are usually quite generous.
