Popular Post dakk55
#175th Platinum Pure Platinum The game, Escape Dead Island is not without it's pros and cons. For some, the cons outweight the pros. For me, on the other hand, it seemed to be balanced between the two. For one, the graphics, while not as geared towards realism as such was DI and Riptide, but more towards cartoony artistic of cel-shading. I did like having random sfx text pop out from my actions, making it feel like playing a comic book game, that gave the game a charm of its own. Pretty...ain't it? One of the cons was that the RPG and Weapon customization was removed, with it the sandbox experience, one of Dead Island's redeeming qualities was the open world and weapon customization, but Escape DI only has two guns, and two melee weapons (4 guns if you get the dlc), while there are options for mods, it's really paltry in comparison as wide range of options as was in DI and Riptide. Escape does have a change in gameplay, focusing more on stealth, but at times it can be quite ridiculous, once I stealth killed a walker while being stared at by its buddy, it was still staring at me while I got over to it and stealth killed it as well. Also, since stealth is the focus, there is really only one animation, the screwdriver animation being replaced by the faster military knife, but its the same thing over and over again. Thack. Thack. Thack. wai-Thack. One of the other redeeming quality was the insanity effect. As noted by the developers, Cliff Calo, the protagonist of Escape Dead Island is not immune to the Kuru Virus (Zombie Virus), and occasionally would hallucinate during the game, becoming more and more outlandish further into the game you get. By the time you nearly get to the end, Cliff would experience a total mind break, and completely hallucinate a entirely new world. It's been theorized that Cliff was infected a while ago, and the entire game is a representation of his guilt and stress of trying to stay alive on a zombie infested island. Wait! Wait no-Oh right. One of the points to make is that the combat is moderately difficult, most of the time you can actually just melee your way through the situation. It's only when the Butchers start to spawn that you have to actually stealth your way through, especially when the damn Sirens are nearby. There are even situations where the game forces you to fight groups of zombies and the exit is blocked by pillars that raises from the ground. Yes, I said pillars that raises from the ground. It wouldn't be much of an issue, but having to deal with a Butcher while being swarmed by Walkers/Infected isn't easy, especially when Butchers can leap to you and chop you into bits instantly. One pro is that the only dlc of the game, the Underwater Labs is free to download, with it about 2 hours of added gameplay with plenty of ammo to pick up, along with two new guns. The Walloper is a pistol alternate, acting like the single fire guns of the old revolutionary days, with the reloading animation to match. The range and accuracy sucks, and it only fires once, but it certainly packs a punch. It comes in handy to one hit some zombies, such as the infected as they like to get so close that it can hit them at that distance. The Assault Rifle is an shotgun alternate, using the shotgun ammo (who knew?), rapid fire, long range and deals decent damage. It sure came in handy to take out walkers at distance with headshots, the issue is that it likes to eat up ammo quickly and the aiming system doesn't help that matter. This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this is mine. Eat lead, death breath. Also, the Underwater Labs dlc is a godsend, especially when you're going for some main game trophies such as "Oh Shut Up!", as sirens are plentiful in here. One caution though is that since there is only Autosave for the game, it is recommended to have a guide on hand for the collectibles, as if you miss one that isn't the first one, you're screwed and would have to go on another playthrough to get it. The dlc also has a new zombie unit, known as the Dweller. The Dweller is blind as blind gets, relying on sound, so conventional stealth kills are not an option. But it is possible to use the environment to your advantage such as activating a recording log to draw their attention and stealth killing them that way. So, you don't mind the bad combat, wonky stealth, forgettable story then perhaps this game is for you. Just make sure to get it for $5, $40 is a bit too much, wouldn't you agree? Popular Post Happy
#59 Apotheon Omnipotence I remember getting this one through PS+ a while back and and i forgot i had it so rediscovering it felt like cleaning up your freezer and finding some frozen pizza you bought a while back so you're just like "hey, it's not like i have any other food lying around might as well eat it" so you smack that shit in the oven and enjoy your free lunch. It's a pretty decent pizza and it looks just as nice as it does on the box, but the salami is now all over the place and it looks kinda weird and eating it like this felt kinda clunky when there's more than three pieces of peperoni on screen at the same time but that's just what you've come to expect from frozen pizza at this point. They put a lot of cheese on there which isn't really a bad thing, but you can barely taste the salami anymore when you actually get to it. There's this on salami that tasted horrible, way too salty for some reason. Also it's weird how every single pizza set in greek mythology seems to feel inclined to add Zeus as the final piece of salami, i would like to see somebody take pizza in an entirely different direction. Overall this was a decent pizza, it fell on the floor a bunch of times while i ws easting it but i don't think i got any dust on it. Would have liked to see the same pizza with a bigger budget. Popular Post mody94_Station
Platinum #41 - Spec Ops The Line Legion of Merit Unlock all Trophies Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Do you feel like a hero yet ? I don't usually buy a game twice, but when I do it is because the game is awesome. Played it on PC, and had fun doing so again on PS3 (despite the annoying fps drops) This is not another one of those shooters were you go all Rambo on your opponents in the name of 'Murica. I can assure you, you will go through a lot of mixed emotions ranging between anger, disgust, to regret before you even finish the game. Spec Ops The Line is a third person cover shooter (my favorite style of gameplay ever since I played Kill Switch) set in post-apocalyptic Dubai where is nothing left but sand and urban ruins, and follows Martin Walker (voiced by Nolan North, hands down this is his best performance) accompanied by his small elite squad that was sent on a rescue mission. While you are on your journey to rescue your target you will witness the horror of war and darkness of humanity. You will have to make decisions which neither will be good or bad. I don't want to spoiler the game because I highly recommend you go and play it. I was emotionally wrecked after each ending. I wanna talk about a horrific scene that I've never seen like it in any video game before, but that will spoil the game. As I implied previously, the gameplay is inspired by Kill Switch, a third person cover shooter. In addition to that, the game allows you be a little bit tactical by giving you the option to command your squad and order them take down enemies or heal a partner. Though I wish there was a command to let your squad stay put because while I was doing the FUBAR walkthrough, I died so many times because I either wasn't able to save them or was killed while trying to do so. Last but not least, I applaud Yager Development for nailing Dubai correctly, the design of the hotels, buildings, textures, halls, everything, was on point. In addition to the awesome sand physics that might sometimes come in handy when you are taking on a large horde of enemies. Popular Post heath_577
Street Fighter IV Unbeatable Fist Ruler of All If you're a beat 'em up fan then there is no question that you should go out and buy Street Fighter IV. Visually impressive this game retains the precise game play that has made the series so highly regarded. If there is one surprise it's the notion that this is "back to basics" doesn't quite hold water, you will need some skill to do well and I would highly recommend that you should invest in a fighting stick. One of the big selling points of this game is the inclusion of online game play so you can battle your're friends or strangers over the internet. The lobby system is pretty painless, and the game manages to reward those that achieve good results with a points system which takes into account you're wins and losses, and the quality of you're opponent
markcavan
#38 - Sly 1 on PSV - Firstly the sly franchise was always something I regretted not getting to when I had my PS2, it was part of the big three with ratchet/clank, jak/daxter and then sly but just never got around to it. Fixing that now :-) Enjoyment and story wise I did enjoy Sly 1, I would give it 7/10. Controls were okay on the PSV and it played well on the small screen. Graphics are low quality and blotchy during the cut scenes. Some of the missions were a little frustrating at first but only took a few tries to get them completed. Difficultly, its a very easy platinum, 1/10. Nice easy and calm game to play and you will most definitely not have any rage quits with it. I will be interested to see how the graphics are on the PS3 version when I get around to it.
Popular Post SkyesUnholy
WWE 2K15 (PS3) All Trophies Earned Earn all trophies. Ugh, last up-to-date WWE game I played was WWE '12 and I thought they would've learned to implement the entire roster into the game by now, and instead they make the roster look big with several past versions of superstars. There was almost nothing special, nothing standing out about this game from the rest. 2K really needs to look back at the early Smackdown vs. Raw games to see what made them great. *cough* GM Mode *cough*. Nonetheless, still a fun game to play Glad I got through the SP grind and also the MP grind with a big thanks to Tamer for helping.

Difficulty: 5.5/10 Enjoyment: 7.5/10 My sweet 42nd plat Very enjoyable game with a fresh take on the "people with superpowers" genre (well not so fresh to others since it's been out for like what ? 4-5 years now, but I never had the chance to play it back then sooooo... yea!). The karma system was neat, and the comic books-esque cutscenes were awesome. The blast shards were a bit pain in the ass and the god damn street enemies stationed on the roofs were annoying (even on easy). The reason the plat took me 6 months to complete is the stunts trophy. When I finished my second walkthrough I had 3 stunts left, and for the life of me couldn't remember which ones I didn't unlock. So I decided come back to the game later and start a new walkthrough, but this time I would make sure to track the stunts. Oh! and one last thing, Eff U Zeke .... Congratulations! Liked so much, I had to do it twice. ...Or it was because it's short and easy, and I was given the Vita version free with cross-buy. Technicalities. Do like the game, though. But how does anyone get the "This Is Living" trophy legit? Maybe I just suck at fighting games, but holy crap.. If it wasn't for lucking out both times with the opposing team disconnecting for reasons unknown, I don't know how I would have got them. :/
Popular Post Boooda
Platinum #193 Shadows of Mordor GOTY Master of Mordor Man, finding out the GOTY edition had a seperate plat was such a joy. Getting to experience this game for the 2nd time and earn trophies was so much fun, it really is one of the great games on PS4. Its been out some time now, so most people have played it and its my 2nd time platinuming it so my opinions of it arent changed. Im excited to tackle the DLC next though, didn't play that on the vanilla version. The GOTY edition didn't add much, aside from all the DLC. I played the game using assorted skins and the added photo mode got me quite distracted. It wasn't around when I played the game the first time, so that was a fun addition.Maybe, just maybe I'll play the PS3 version but I've heard its so ass, and the load times are lethal. Obviously this game gets my full recommendation, if you've not played it then idk what you're waiting for. Popular Post Jello
Plat #35 John Daly's ProStroke Golf "Conqueror" I finally got my first ultra rare platinum It took a while but it's finally here, and thanks to the fact the pretty much no one has played this I also made it onto the first & fastes achievers list. Now on to the game itself, it's pretty much what you can expect from a golf game, and it does a decent job for what it is. As far as difficulty goes, its one of my more challenging plats, but once you figure out how to play against the wind it becomes much easier. Everyone says that the last tournament is the hardest, but I found the second last one to be much harder. The most annoying thing about the game is when you're playing in the challenges against John Daly, he only has like 4 lines and he never shuts up. I would like to thank Roccolou, BIG420Hits, and aBlueMoona for helping me boost the online. Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 6/10
Popular Post TwilightSpira
PLATINUM 68 - THE WITCHER 3 : WILD HUNT The Long and Perilous hunt comes to end!!! The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt concludes the story of the witcher Geralt of Rivia, whose last mission comes in dark times as the mysterious and otherworldly army known as the Wild Hunt invades the Northern Kingdoms, leaving only blood soaked earth and fiery ruin in its path, thus the beginning of this masterful game. After being blowed away by the first hunt of 2015, Bloodborne, the Witcher 3's Wild Hunt just proves how remarkable and mind blowing a game made if true love can become. After my 180 hours if the game, my feeling of accomplishment and excitement kept reaching higher grounds if each passing night, i just didn't want the game to finish. So if that being said, i really hope that this last hunt comes if a wonderful surprise to every single person who dares challenges the Wild Hunt, just like we survived the long night of blood, this last Hunt of Geralt of Rivia sets new standards for future modern RPGs.
