Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus

 

So I finally get a Vita, and of course this was the first game I played on it. Really glad I picked up

this game. Beyond the obvious selling points this is a really fun and complex fighting game.

I'm sure all things that can be said about this game have already been covered so I'll just say my

favorite fighters are Hikage and Haruka, and I enjoyed this game so much that I made sure the Platinum

would land on a milestone as trophy #9000.

While the trophy icon seems rubbish, the game is fantastic, way better than the first game. In this game Death, leader of the four horsemen of the apocalypse is trying to prove his younger brother, War, not guilty for bringing apocalypse to Earth. Death is so badass! You can equip him with cool armor and weapons, the guys who made this game really gave it time and effort, it's sad that THQ closed, it's a shame if we didn't have third and fourth game, I still want to play as the other two horsemen, Strife and Fury.

 

Trophy wise: The game is much harder on Apocalypse difficulty than the first game, this one is not a joke, specially the mission when you visit Earth, it really was hell on Earth for me at least! For the level 30 trophy you'll have to start a NG+ because the level cap for the first playthrough is 22. The must frustrating thing is the collectables, there's so many of them take note that you don't have to collect the Vulgrim coins nor the Arbitar Maze's scrolls, there's no trophy related to them. The game froze on me several times, also it may bug on you in The Foundry dungeon, if so than just quit the game and continue from the last checkpoint.


Platinum toke me around 55 hours to achieve.

Like one massive South Park episode. The Stick of Truth is a very faithful recreation of the South Park universeas you'd expect with the involvement of the show's creators. It's one of the funniest games I've played with star turns from lots of the shows characters. It's a real shame that some of the games sequences were censored in the EU version. I mean it's South Park. Surely people know what's they're getting themselves into when they pick up the game.

The gameplay is simple but fun enough I thought. Turn based ability focused combat with various different companions with character related abilities. Butters can transform into Professor Chaos for example.

The story focuses on the fight between various factions for the Stick of Truth. The game takes a lot of shots at video game tropes and conventions such as the silent protagonist and the prevalence of nazi zombies.

There are a daunting number of missable trophies so I'd recommend following a missable collectible guide and leaving strategic saves just about everywhere. That said none of the trophies are difficult to obtain and it's a relatively short game so it's a pretty easy platinum.

I enjoyed the game quite a lot and I'm excited for the recently announced sequel - 'The Fractured But Whole'which is a great name for a South Park game. My only hope would be for the combat to be a little more varied and interesting but apart from that I'm looking forward to more of the same.

Overall I'd give the game a 7/10 for enjoyment, a 2/10 for difficulty and a 4/10 for time needed to complete

That's the thing about Telltale games, They give the illusion of player choice mattering in the story but ultimately it does not.

Needless to say Persona franchise is very near and dear to me Persona 4 was amazing in every aspect,  though you might argue that Persona 3 FES delivered a better story overall and I agree but it all doesn't matter I love them both equally. Narukami and the others tale has been told, but it's time to move on and pass the torch to this guy.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed

Placing honesty right now, this one I'd definitely put down as one of my favorite Neptunia games and one of my favorite Vita games thus far. I initially expected it to not compare well to the canonical games and be just a festival of fanservice (I'm looking at you, Producing Perfection - still love you though). However, what I found was quite a fairly decent hack and slash game. The story was quite short and going only for the story quests makes the game even shorter, but I found myself laughing quite a lot at many of the quotes throughout the game. I was glad that the costume breaking actually did something other than fanservice and often times, I had everyone use the torn versions of their outfits due to the heavily positive effect of increasing the chances of critical damage. Then the guest characters, Dengekiko and Famitsu were much more fun to use than I thought they would be. Finally, being earned rewards and being able to use them without any negative consequences gives quite a bit of nostalgia. The only thing that I must complain about trophy-wise is the  Lily Lord trophy, which by estimate, consisted of more than half of the time that it took me to get this game's platinum.

 

Finally, this is the first platinum that I've had since April. And to think, the night that this platinum drought ends, IT'S FUCKING RAINING! WHOOOOO!

My Personal Gaming Enjoyment Experience

 

Four things to describe this game buggy, crashing, clunky and glitchy but some glitches can be good to exploit.   

 

I had totals 10 crashes, 9 when saving and 1 while opening the chest, all of them will boot me straight to report problems page in XMB.  There was a times when enemies slams against my shield or hit me hard I'll get stuck inside the ground or on the wall so I have to constantly making save every 10 to 15 minutes after battle or before entering new area because I don't know when I'll encounter glitches or crashes    lucky there were 10 save slots and 3 auto save slots so it's not that bad after all.

 

The story campaign is interesting at first but I getting bored in the second part of the story, not sure it's the clunky controls or storyline that make me feel boring.  The lowest difficulty is easy enough but Olympian difficulty can be a pain if never get used to that clunky control, the first few levels I really struggle with the controls and some boss battles in later stage. 

 

Luckily there is a way to exploit the highest difficulty I just have to do one playthrough.    I use the glitches to adjust the difficulty in New Game+ and load my last save file in second battles with the final boss. Damn, it's still hard but I don't need to play through the whole campaign with that kind of controls again.

Overall it's still a good game for me also it's FREE from Plus few months back when I still don't own a PS4 but I downloaded the game's first, lastly this is my FIRST Platinum on Playstation 4.

Another original platinum name >.> Not the best of controls which is to be expected from a Vita port. Story was alright, nothing special, but a good decent length. I was quite surprised to be honest. I can see this game being more enjoyable on the Vita since obviously it was catered for it A game I'd recommend to people who've played several AC games but not any new to the series.
