the assassin's creed games are my guilty pleasure of gaming. there are so many bad decisions that ubisoft makes with these games which lead to a ton of frustrations, that i really shouldn't enjoy them as much as i do. part of the reason i still play them is that i have the platinum trophy for every game in the series, and as a trophy hunter it would feel strange to not continue that collection. this was probably the grindiest (is that a word?) game in the series, which is insane considering the grind of some of the past games. i'm glad to have a break from it finally

The game is a masterpiece in terms of gameplay. It's simply fluid, fast and perfect. The different gameplay styles are quite nice, but the game is not complex by any means. It's a game that takes skills and time to perfect. This only trophies that were difficult was "Retro" and the 3 stars on all levels. The 1 million geoms grind was quite ridiculous too, because I finished the game at 290k :-( I used to auto-farming method, so it was not too bad though.

 

I rated it 8/10, which, I think, is fair for this game. I enjoyed it :-)

Well what can I say about this game? Besides it's amazing, I've turned from giving Dark Souls II a try to a full Souls fan. If it wasn't for me picking up the sequel I would have never gotten around to ever playing this game and I'm very glad I did. Everything about this game is great from the little grunts in your way to the bosses who will kill you many times and you will love every second of it. A epic quest to ether kindle the first flame or let the dark finally rule the land of Lordan it up and get some sweet trophies while you die!

I don't play many horror type games because I'm a big scaredy-cat most of the time playing, I did not cope well with Outlast But I really enjoyed this, so much better and more fun than any scary movie I've seen in aaaages. I also enjoyed finding all the different ways to see each character die, is that weird?

Another VN down but I got my enjoyment out of it. Very awesome BGM, the CGs and Wallpapers were pretty awesome to look at overall.. I also liked how it wasn't as easy as Photon Flowers or one of the other games haha. Had to go over my save files and figure out which wallpaper I didn't get near the end.. Cleared the game like 10+ times.

 

Overall, I'm glad I played through it and don't mind the time I wasted.

I rarely lose my temper, but when I do, it's because I'm Beach Buggy Raging   

This one plays out a lot like any Mario Kart game ever. And if you've played said Karts, you'll know why I road rage.

Firstly, there's the rubber band AI. I hate rubber band AI. It's the Devil's Invention, and should be banned by law. Lessens the skill factor, raises the luck one.

Then there's the numerous 'I-can-see-the-finish-line-but-low-and-behold-I-got-sniped-and-now-I'm-last-whoopedidoo' situations. Happens pretty much in every race.

Games like this and Mario Kart are the reasons why friendships end, but....they can be fun, in a masochistic way.

That being said, BBR is good, solid fun for the casual gamer. But if you're in it to win it, it will eat away your soul with....... The Grind.

Two of the trophies require you to collect 1,000,000 coins and drive 9,289 km. That means 40+ hours of pure grinding. Took me over 2,500+ goddamn races   

Beach Buggy Racing is recommended for those who can watch paint dry for dozens of hours, or just for seekers of casual fun.

That Plat you're about to see is also my 9,000th trophy, milestones ftw!

Bound by Flame got middling reviews for the most part and is a game that probably won't be remembered by many but I quite enjoyed it. Considering it's come from a small developer I think it's a pretty competent and enjoyable effort.

My only real complaint with the game is the sometimes dodgy voice acting, in particular with female PC which is unbelievably bad. Most of the time it's fine though. Other complaints I've read about the game didn't seem to impact my enjoyment of the game very much. There's not much exploration in the game and most of quests are resolved with combat or dialogue and the customization options are very limited but none of that bothered me too much. Not every RPG needs open and expansive, there's room for smaller teams to make good games with a more limited scope. It's been accused of being short but my first playthrough took me 17 hours so I wouldn't agree with that either

The story is very stock fantasy affair but there are interesting concepts such as the demon that the game is named for. Do you allow it in order to access it's fiery powers or keep it out and preserve you're humanity. Your companions are very much what you'd expect from a fantasy rpg but I grew to like them generally.

Mechanically the game feels very similar to the Witcher 2. The combat, particularly on Captain difficulty, is punishing with death often being just two or three hits away. I enjoyed this because I think a game like this is more engaging when it presents a constant challenge. It does almost force you to use the Ranger stance (daggers instead of larger weapons) due to the fact that some attacks can damage you through your block and you can't dodge in the Warrior stance.

To reiterate, Bound by Flame isn't a great game; it not up to the standard of games like the The Witcher 2/3 but it is a good game and I enjoyed it.

Overall I'd give the game a 7/10 for enjoyment, a 6/10 for difficulty and a 5/10 for time needed to complete.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2

 

 

 

I was really surprised with this one, I do like a good point and click game from time to time. Most the time I end up loosing interest in the story. Not this one. It kept me engaged the whole time. I really like the characters in the game and each played a good part. Wilbur Weathervane is the main protaganist, so to speak. You spend more time playing as him as you do any of the playable characters.

 

If you do like point and click adventures than give it a try. I loved it.

This was an interesting game. I must say that the Helladeck mode was fun, but could be very frustrating at times. Super Hardcore was easy and the rest was pretty fun!
