Popular Post Valyrious
#46 What a really fun game. There are times when it certainly got tedious, especially having no automatic skip except for dialogue that you've already read. It's absolutely outrageous. British gamers should probably avoid this one, it might offend you from just how wacky it is. It's also really difficult to ignore the opening text "This game is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to actual characters, locations, or names is entirely coincidental." as 'coincidental'. Herlock Sholmes [who is a detective]? Van Helsing [who is known as the human weapon and for winning the vampire war]? Queen Victoria (and the portrayal of her is just... oh man.). There are several examples, but needless to say... it's not entirely coincidental. I will give it this, the game does one thing better than Steins;Gate, and that's the amount of depth they go into with how different each characters routes are for chapters 9 through 13. They're absolute polar opposites from each other. They aren't lazily done either, there's plenty of extra story to be had. Shame I was skipping through it all, because I was becoming impatient. But even still, SPAMMING the X button to progress the story still took a shit load of time. If you don't skip it, these characters extra routes will take HOUUUUUUURS. I do believe that's a good thing though. The story is there. The characters are relatively enjoyable. The fan service is... well... after going through two of the characters extra scenes, I realized very quickly that this game might be intended for female otaku's, but hey, gimme dem sexy doods. Highly recommend this game if you want something completely bonkers. And an easy platinum, I guess. The actual platinum trophy unlocked in the menu screen, so it's ugly as sin. Let's pretend that I didn't cut out the plat image from the actual screenshot and pasted it really lazily using Paint at 3AM. Valyrious
Why did you spam the X button? I'm pretty sure you could have skipped with the square or the O button. Can't remember which one. You can with square, but like I said in the post, that's only for dialogue you already experienced. It's useless when you're in Chapters 9-13 of a new character route. Popular Post Stardroid
MGSV The Phantom Pain. I really struggled with this game. As a huge fan of the MGS franchise, I wanted to Platinum all the MG games that have an obtainable one. As you can see, I succeeded in doing so. However, MGSV was a huge grind and I really didn't like that. I had more issues with this than the 500+ VR missions in MGS2. As a game, MGSV is great, but to me, it did not really feel like an MGS game. The story is too spread out in the open world and the emotional investment in the game seems a lot less so than its predecessors. That being said, I had a blast doing this.
Popular Post helloiamniven
#50 3D DOT GAME HEROES Congratulations! 3.63% Ultra Rare Difficulty: 8/10 Enjoyment: 8.5/10 I adore this game. I played it for the first time when it came out back in 2009, and I played it again in 2012, on older accounts. Each time I loved it, but I never managed to get the platinum. Third time lucky, eh? In case you don't know anything about this game, it's more or less a love letter to the games which made the industry what it is today. It's a game made more than anything in the style of the 2D Zelda games, but with the polish and finesse of a more modern title. That being said, Link to the Past holds up incredibly well still and that game is 4 years older than me. Anyway though - this game plays very similarly, with a lot of elements just lifted straight out of Zelda, such as the same items, bomb-able walls, fairy fountains, a more powerful sword at full health, und so weiter... What makes this game so good though, is that it takes all these elements, and makes them feel fresh and fun. The world is a joy to explore, killing enemies with your giant fuck-off sword never gets old, and the music is just so evocative of those kind of games we played when we were young. The graphical style is beautiful, and the game is hilarious. It's just so worth playing. And you can make your own character! I spent a good hour recreating my favourite video game character of all time, FFVIII's Laguna. As much as I love the game, some of the trophies weren't so fun - Dash Circuit wasn't tough this time around, and only took a few attempts as I somehow still retained my muscle memory from a few years back. For first-timers though, that's a bitch. FROM Mode is pretty tricky, and Spelunker Mode (one hit kills you) is pretty unforgiving. You almost certainly need to use a guide word by word to get everything possible and get all of the swords, and the Bestiary stuff can be pretty dull. But these are all forgivable because the game is just so great. I sincerely hope someone who reads this decides to pick it up, and hopefully you like it so that I don't feel guilty about making you spend your hard-earned money. Also, congrats to me! This is my 50th platinum. Here's to 50 more.

I don't condone this but the default skip settings are set to "skip read only" and you can change it to "skip all". Useful for scenes that are technically different but aren't really (like in Norn9) or to skip routes of boys that don't interest you.

Popular Post lednatius
#41 God of War: Ghost of Sparta The Ghost with the MostI was already about 3/4 through the game before starting to play again today... but still it feels weird being able to get a platinum after only playing for 6 or 7 more hours after i spent so long on Cold Steel. Also, 3/10 difficulty my butt, playing on hard was frustrating as hell sometimes. Then again, this is the first GoW game i've platinumed that required playing on hard. The challenge of the gods being much easier kind of balanced it out i guess.

Popular Post D-Tron
#115 - Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ C : R Master Not my first visual novel but it is certainly my first ever otome game and platinum. On the surface it sounds stupid: A game almost entirely reading with only little player input where the ultimate goal is to find love among... men? wth I wanted to find love with teh anime chicks with teh huge tits! Get back to the fanservice mill Japan! It is surprisingly really and I mean really good. You are a girl who wakes up in the middle of a banished Mansion who can only remember bits and pieces of her past and her family. She is cursed by a strange gem embedded into her chest that makes her skin and blood corrosively poisonous. Anything that comes into contact with her whether it be human flesh or titanium melts away. This curse has caused her to be called a monster and even gets the attention of the British royal guard to kidnap her. The future grooms to be aren't introduced until a man steals her away from the British guard and takes her to London with an engineer. You have several anime archetypes of characters to choose as your groom. You've got the bold and courageous one (Lupin), the stupid one (Impey), The mostly reserved yet also smart and well mannered character that opens himself up later (Saint-Germain), The nerd (Victor), and the badass (Van Helsing). The game however teaches you to overcome these characters archetypes by giving you reasons why they have become and act as the characters they are. The game also really goes in depth with a main plot that focuses on all characters and doesn't get super mushy. Even when you get to one character's path, the others still play a role in them and are not forgotten. My only complaint is that Lupin's ending (his is considered the true ending of the game) felt a little weak for me. All I can say without spoiling anything is that it ended so suddenly. It's definitely not my favorite visual novel but definitely one to keep your eye on (it was on sale for $12 this past flash sale) and if you want to try your first game in the otome genre then I say go for it. These games' main target audience is girls but I can safely say that as a straight male, I thoroughly enjoyed this game because it's a well written visual novel that anyone can enjoy. Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 8/10

Japan is a more open minded place than the Western world. And possibly more perverted as a result. -scratches head- I find it amusing someone finished it not too long after I did. Proof enough that it is a quality VN, folks. But Steins;Gate is still the upper echelon. Edit: This is interesting. I looked at your profile to see the time you unlocked the platinum, and... Bizz-dono
#60 Call of Duty Ghosts Federated Earn all available Trophies for Call of Duty® Ghosts The best part of this game is that the story was short and sweet! All around the best COD game that I have played. The DLC's was the most challenging aspect of the whole game. Some of the levels was a work of art and the depth of creation was fascinating, it really pulled me into the game. What was not liked was getting stuck on little easy jumps and other miscellaneous things . I'll still recommend this game to any COD fan! Thank you. Popular Post TheFinalEmblem
Platinum #55- Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky I'll add this to the list of games I wish I had played a lot sooner. I loved pretty much every aspect of this game; all the synthesis and experimentation, the exploring, the battles, and the characters (Except maybe Micie, didn't care too much for him) and music were exceptionally outstanding. The game doesn't have a story at the forefront of it, it's more about the characters, but a story does come out of the background as you do character events and progress through the game, which I liked. The one thing I didn't like was getting wrecked by the true final boss... it hurt so much, but I managed to come through! Gonna be starting Shallie next. Now I leave you with this awesome piece of music from the game;
Popular Post Ala-Arska
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate The Dark Knight Unlock All Other Trophies Bruce Wayne: vigilante by night, porn star by day. Some folks like this handheld Batman, some hate it with a passion. Me, I enjoyed it quite a bit...for the most part. Sure, it's got its share of problems and Asylum or City it ain't (still haven't played Origins or Knight...yet), but it's very suitable as a Vita game. Biggest problems for me were definitely the poorly constructed map system (trust me, it's shite) and not one, but three obligatory playthroughs Navigating through Blackgate in a 2.5D environment took a while to adjust to, a bit of a step-down from the excellent PS3 games. The combat is almost as intact as I'm used to, although not as fluid as hoped. Plus, enemy encounters are too far and between for my taste. More action! The "new" voice actors for Batty and Joker did a very fine job following the footsteps of demi Gods Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. The metroidvania play style was as addicting as always. On the negative side, using the Detective Mode (a lot!) breaks the immersion far, far too often As long as one don't mind the poor excuse of a map and the inevitable repetitiveness, owners of Vita + fans of the Dark Knight = na na na na na na na na Batmaaaan

My daughter wanted to play a racing game and I remembered Split Second. I downloaded it on her PS3 and got her to help me get them done. I'm not much of an MP player and trying them legit just wasn't happening for me when I first played it... 5 years ago .
