Is The Rise of Tomb Raider coming to PS4?

Recommended Posts

Bearing in mind that TR started off on PS I think it's very poor taste that CD and SE have opted for this timed exclusive if that's what's going on (which we still don't have a clear answer on) Yes I know CD are a business and their aim is to make money but you would think that they would remember where there fan base started from (inc PC). I do think in the long run it will hurt sales, yes they may have been paid big bucks by MS which would be a quick cash injection but I suspect they would have made more over a long period of time releasing on all 3 consoles. I def won't pick this up new now just out of principle unless it's heavily discounted!

Well it did start off on PlayStation, PC, and Saturn before  Sony signed a deal with Eidos to make console releases for the Tomb Raider franchise exclusive to the PlayStation, preventing the Sega Saturn or the Nintendo 64 from having any Tomb Raider game released for it until 2000

You can be 100% sure that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be on PS4.

CD probably didn't have anything to do with it. They got an email from SQEX, saying "We'll release first on XBO. Stop development on other platforms for now and don't talk shit about this deal in public, or else."

Gonna need more confirmation due to one gaming news site being wrong on who the publisher of a game is already.

Here is the Wikipedia page.

Or the Tomb Raider official website...

Tomb Raider is published by Square Enix now. Crystal Dynamics develop the games, Square Enix publishes them.

Ah, okay.

From my research into the game (there isn't a whole lot of information out there right now) it looks like Sony and Konami are publishing the game.

IGN is one of the only sites to list the publishers though and I suppose they could be wrong.

That's exactly why I'm waiting for more clarification on whether or not the full game is being co-published as only one gaming site has it listed and it's possible, like with Rise of the Tomb Raider, the site could be misinformed.
