A surprise announcement at this weekend's Japan Gamer's Live event revealed Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will launch in spring 2015 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, in Japan.

There's no word on any Western release, nor additional details on the game itself other than the teaser trailer above.

The last full release in the series was Dead or Alive 5, which launched worldwide in September 2012. Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, an update to the game, launched a year later.

Why do all the Japanese fighters keep coming out with new editions of the same game why not just dead or alive 6

Not that I can vouch for this game, but a lot of time there are character change logs that the FGC seem to orgasm over, however minimal.

They honestly should do something stupid with this one, like making Orochi a final boss or something. Or a graphics reversion mode so everything looks like the first game. Maybe.

I'm not into fighters but if fighting game fans enjoy them why not just doesn't make sense to me

Sometimes it's easier to just grab a game, add stuff to it, and sell again. It just comes down to how much you put into it. In fact, the whole thing is situational in it's entirety.

If you think you can make money off something that's essentially a reworking of something that already exists, then you do it. And that's why they do it.

I will probably buy this since I don't have either of the other two.
