Popular Post Platisfaction
1st Annual PSNProfiles Guide of the Year Awards - Nomination thread Welcome to the Guide of the Year Awards nomination thread! In the next two weeks you will get the chance to nominate the best examples out of the 420 trophy guides which have been published so far. I will update this thread every other day so you can keep track of the current standings. Here are the rules again: The nomination thread will be open for two weeks. You can nominate any guide you want, but you are required to give solid reasons for your choice. Do not vote for a guide solely because you like the game (or worse: the author of the guide) but because of its outstanding quality. After 15 December, PSNP staff will choose the three winners from the top ten most nominated guides. The total number of nominations is irrelevant for our decision. The guide which got the most nominations is not necessarily going to win - the only thing that counts is guide quality! Since staff will be deciding the winners, their guides will not be eligible! Co-op guides with staff members will be eligible, the non-staff writer will get the whole prize in this case. PSNProfiles will provide additional prizes for all guide contributors so long as they contributed a meaningful amount to the guide. We track all edits so this will be checked. There are going to be some juicy prizes for the winners: 1st Place: A PS4 or PS3 or VITA retail game of your choice (regular retail value) - sponsored by nauGie 2nd Place: A PSN card for your region, roughly $25 3rd Place: A PSN card for your region, roughly $10 Good luck to all guide writers! May the best guides win. Final standings: Puppeteer - Collectible Guide 6 Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Trophy Guide 6 Final Fantasy X Trophy Guide 4 Dragon's Dogma Trophy Guide 4 Sword Art Online Trophy Guide 3 Red Dead Redemption Trophy Guide 3 Gran Turismo 5 Trophy Guide 3 Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories Boss Guide 2 Tales of Symphonia Trophy Guide 2 Watch Dogs Trophy Guide 2 Killzone Shadow Fall Trophy Guide 2 Payday 2 Trophy Guide 1 Blur Trophy Guide 1 Vanquish Trophy Guide 1 BioShock Trophy Guide 1 Knack Trophy Guide 1 Borderlands 2 Trophy Guide 1 Sly Cooper Thiefs in Time Trophy Guide 1 Demon's Souls Trophy Guide 1 Dragon's Crown Trophy Guide 1 Dark Souls 2 Trophy Guide 1 Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World Trophy Guide 1 Batman: Arkham Asylum Trophy Guide 1 BioShock Infinite Trophy Guide 1 The Evil Within Trophy Guide 1 Modern Warfare 2 Trophy Guide 1 Thief Trophy Guide 1 Grand Theft Auto V Trophy Guide 1 Warframe Trophy Guide 1 Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros Trophy Guide 1 Dirt 3 Trophy Guide 1 Lone Survivor Trophy Guide 1 Call of Duty: Black Ops Trophy Guide 1 The Last of Us Trophy Guide 1 Outlast Trophy Guide 1 Dark Souls Trophy Guide 1 Edited December 16, 2014 by nauGie
Xxleonardo97xX
Gran Turismo 5 Trophy Guide What a guide should be, very, I mean, very in-depth in terms of game information and tips on how to beat every event, all in all a solid trophy guide.
Saltyie
Payday 2 It came down to Payday 2 or Pro Evo 2014, but since Pro Evo is by a guide team member, I went with Payday 2 instead. It tells you everything you need to know when going for a trophy without resorting to 50 paragraph walls of text. It is everything a great guide should be Edited December 7, 2014 by Saltyie
bpmotard
I vote for: BLUR Trophy Guide. X_RaceKing_X shows how to make an incredible guide. Not only is it amazingly detailed but it also captures the charm of a great guide with beautiful images, videos and game icons to support it.
HcG Clawz
Sword Art Online - Hollow Fragment This guide is detailed really good, for every trophy it tells you exactly what to do. I dont know if i can say anymore about this but its just a great guide.
bpmotard
PSNProfiles will provide additional prizes for all guide contributors so long as they contributed a meaningful amount to the guide. We track all edits so this will be checked. This is interesting although I gave up on some guides once I saw that they were already made or I got bored of them
madbuk
Hmm... For me it'd have to be either Sir_Bee's Puppetter collectible guide (It's the only one on the internet as far as I know that has the collectibles in the order you find them. Certainly the first) or Race_King's GT5 guide because of how indepth it goes and how much it covers. Are we only allowed one nomination?

It was either Sir_bee collectibles for Puppeteer (really, really useful) or Race King GT5, I went wih GT5 in the end. Sorry Sir_Bee, as BlindManog said only 1 guide per vote Dang, you guys are already nominating some really good stuff I forgot about! Keep it going! Just one! BeautifulTorment
I need to nominate Sir_Bee's collectible guide for the Puppeteer. Not only PSNP, but every trophy hunting community needs to thank him for that one Edit: This is the first one that came to mind as soon as I heard about these awards about a month ago. Looks like others had the same thought as me. Edited December 1, 2014 by BeautifulTorment
Tankor_smash
I'd like to nominate ExHaseo's Tales of Symphonia guide. It has everything you need to obtain all of the titles in the game, and excellent strategy for obtaining all of them in the fewest play throughs. Wavergray
Is the VANQUISH trophy guide eligible? If so that's the one I vote for. Everything in it was well written and very helpful. Also every video showed exactly what was needed to get each trophy. Edited December 7, 2014 by soultaker655
soniq
Dragon-Archon's Dragon's Dogma Guide It goes in-depth on everything, from the basics of how the game and pawn system works all the way to make the platinum as painless as possible to obtain.
Alexi-Sama
BioShock Trophy Guide this guide explains everything very precise, prevents spoilers and got video guides as well, thats a perfect guide imo.
theitdemon
https://psnprofiles.com/guide/841-KNACK-Trophy-Guide ShadowGandalf has written the guide well, pointing out possible pitfalls that could be encountered as well as recommendations for the best chapters and strategies to earn various trophies. The use of videos also helps in understanding where certain things should be done as text descriptions cab sometimes be difficult to follow and know exactly what is being said. Overall, I found it very useful in my quest to obtain the trophies (the only one I have to obtain at the time of writing is a simple case of completing the story). Razza
Borderlands 2 Trophy Guide By MrCostari And Dragon-Archon Such a detailed trophy guide that was extremely simple and easy to follow and pointed out how to collect some of the harder things in the game such as the challenges and Jimmy Jenkins
Satoshi Ookami
I must admit I haven't been using the guides here much And since SAO guide was already nominated, I nominate NFS: MW guide. https://psnprofiles.com/guides/1702-Need-for-Speed-Most-Wanted (Not sure if I can nominate just the guide for the game or the DLC guides can be put together since they are made by the same person.) How many guides will be needed btw? I vote for Sword Art Online - Hollow Fragment guide as well. It's very detailed and provides all necessary information for Platinum (and I participated a bit on it ) Edited December 2, 2014 by Satoshi Ookami

How many guides will be needed btw? A guide can be nominated more than once. Actually, that's how it is supposed to work. Only the top ten most nominated guides will be taken into account for the awards, so if you prefer the SAO guide and want it to win you should probably vote for it... This also answers the question of how many guides are needed: We will choose from the top ten most nominated guides.

DaScorpio_
Sly Cooper: Thieves in TimeDragon-Archon I give my vote to it as it clearly explained everything, putting black colored stuff over the story, trying not to ruin it. It also gave some tips that really helped me Edited December 2, 2014 by Scorpions444

spazza136
I'm going to vote for the RDR guide by Saltyie because it was probably the most helpful guide to get me through a Platinum and some of the explanations were very well planned out to get me those last few trophies.
