dharksoul
I am so bummed. The only thing stopping my platinum is my inability.
grimydawg___
They're not that hard and you don't have to do all of them. Just practice and keep in mind the training dummy may have to be a certain distance off the ground for the moves to collect...
Dark_Tooth69
Try watching a few videos of the trials; it helps you know what the combos need to look like. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL80542DCFB1794CD7 The timing isn't too bad on these. It's more about memorizing the whole thing.
iGoBangCrashBoom
If you're like me and you find them way too time consuming and way too difficult to do (for me i couldn't do any 9's or 10's) Than do what i did, find a game store in the area that host gaming events and befriend some of the best fighting game players. My local "Games and Go" hosts this thing called casuals twice a week, lots of people gather and play pvp against each other. I was lucky enough to meet a frequent tournament winner who was more than willing to aid me in the completion of my remaining missions, now were good pals and we hangout all the time, he's even going for the missions on umvc3 for me. This might not work for everybody, but out of desperation i'd resorted to anything and ended up with not only my coveted platinum trophy but a good friend as well! Good luck with the trophy, its defiantly a brag worthy one imo.

Normally I don't like the idea of having someone do a trophy for you, but the fact that you met some cool people this way, makes it pretty cool. Maybe this dude will end up teaching you how to play fighting games better and you'll hit some events. Good luck with the trophy, its defiantly a brag worthy one imo. In hindsight I don't think the trials in MVC3/UMVC3 are hard, but that's just me.

Lord_of_Ra
A guy suggested I make every chars 1 to 7 so I can concentrate on mastering X-Factor cancel to get the last 3 done. They've been WAY easier than SSFIV up to those but overconfidence may kick me in the nuts later. Oh well, "never give up" is the gold saying for every challenge. Edit: Oh, just noticed I'm on Vanilla ver. but it's pretty much the same thing as Ultimate according to some. Telling him these trials aren't hard at all is not helping him in any way. What kind of advice is that? Any sportscoach who's telling it's pupils it's not hard and they should simply keep at it is a lousy coach. Provide him with some constructive criticism, share some insightful knowledge rather than just stopping by in this thread to boast about your fighting prowess like I've seen the two of you do on several occassions

Secondly, I played in tournaments for years, and did fairly well in them. Folks don't want to dedicate themselves and practice. He just said he had trouble with missions, not being specific. So, yeah, I can probably help, considering my actual experience in many fighting games.... Sports coach Edited July 23, 2015 by grimydawg

I also posted a link on how the trials are supposed to look like which helps a lot. How am I supposed to help out with specific issues he's having after he types that he's already getting help from someone and that they're just too time consuming and difficult for him? If he was more specific on what he's having trouble with I would gladly help. I will admit however; I probably should be more careful with my wording because I'm not trying to boast by any means.

I feel you. I have that same trouble with wording . Ot: after trying no.8 a couple times, I found the diificulty noticeably spikes imo. Also read the difference with vanilla is that no.10 is considered harder on this one, but the others are almost the same. That being the case, I stress that you, the reader, clear 1 to 7 from each char and get those out of the way first. A noticeable part of 8-10's require X-factor cancel so it's necessary to have the muscle memory as fresh as possible, or the somewhat nasty combos that follow. This is just a personal opinion. Hope it helps.
grimydawg___
To piggyback what Dark was saying, I've even made my own videos of a couple of combos/trials and have helped a few people out that way. So to say all I do is this, when I've proven otherwise is quite frankly, stupid. If folks consider it boasting or whatever, that's their problem.
Gommes_
Just 10 more until platinum. To everyone who is wondering, yes it is doable with some dedication. After almost 6 years I decided to give it a try and it's hard but not impossible. Babysteps are more important than in every other game I've played. Just do some missions a day and don't try for six hours straight. You'll lose concentration and be frustrated all the time. I am on it since 3 weeks now and hopefully will be done this week. Edit: Done! Edited November 12, 2016 by Gommes_
