This is either a troll, or an uninformed SR fanboy that's not played many other open world games.

You're the first one to hand in your test to the teacher. When the results are in, most of the class got similar answers as you. I guess they all copied off your test, right?

Only, GTA was the first person to hand in the test, and SR3 was maybe the 5th person to hand in their test.

Saints Row 3 probably stole all those ideas that other people made up. Gta 5 is a amazing game, and took alot of creativity to create. Imagine making interesting characters like Trevor, and making such a realistic world. Saints Row 3 is more of a humor game anyways.

Yes, it's a total rip-off! I mean:

-Sandbox

-THIRD PERSON SHOOTER

-Weapons included!

-VEHICLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I just can't take you seriously... Character customization? Really?

As mentioned above I'm not sure if this is a troll post or a SR hardcore fanboy.

Wasn't there a bank heist at the very beginning of GTA III?

2. Barnstorming

Maybe, what the hell is barnstorming?

3. Buying property

You could do that in GTA Vice City.

4. Using your smart phone to call your homies, transportation, etc.

You could do that in GTA IV. Though, I'm aware the first Saints Row was out before GTA IV but I don't know if you could use smart phones, been so long since I last played it. I'm guessing no.

5. Stunt jumps

You could do that in GTA III.

6. Car customization

San Andreas introduced that first.

7. Character customization

Again, San Andreas.

8. Weapon modding

Maybe.

9. Assassination missions

Not sure about this one, I think there were assassination missions in GTA IV.

10. Car theft missions

I'm sure the first GTA had car theft missions?

You do know that GTA is pretty much the major influence for most modern developers of sandbox games, right? Gta 3 was revolutionary not only for its own genre, but for the industry as a whole, plus the Houser brothers and Rockstars writing team employed a social satire in a vast video game world such as Liberty City,  that was pretty much unheard of in video games. Something that Saints Row attempts to do and fails at it miserably, but that's just my opinion.

GTA, especially GTA III started off the whole process with it's (at the time) revolutionary ideas and gameplay. They kept improving on that and adding new things over the decade. I believe I even read in one article about Saints Row the Third, one of the developers mentioned it was the younger, less mature and more exaggerated version of GTA where there was no point to be serious.

In short:

GTA= Story, serious, drama, challenge.

Saints Row=Fun, explosions, killing and 23 different ways of punching people in the nuts.

Everyone is forgetting about the original Driver on PS1. This was the first game you could get out of the car, and was not top-down.

I'm pretty sure you couldn't get out of the car until Driver 2. You've nailed the perspective though.

I remember how hard I found the first mission on Driver, that checklist of things to do in so little time, and how great it felt finally doing all of that and getting to play the rest of the game. Ah, memories....
