MY FUCKEN JAW DROOPED!!! when I saw this:

Article made by SEGA's Associate Marketing Manager Stephen Akana

Get ready for a dream duel of epic proportions! Here at Sega, we are beyond thrilled to announce that Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is coming to the West exclusively for PS3 and Vita. Thanks to all our fans for supporting efforts to bring Japanese content like Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax over from Japan. We’re excited to reveal more about the game as we get closer to launch!

Developed by Ecole and French Bread in cooperation with ASCII Media Works, this 2D fighting game celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko with an all-star cast of their popular characters set against Sega-themed worlds. With playable characters such as Asuna from Sword Art Online or Kuroyukihime from Accel World, and support characters like Touma Kamijou from A Certain Magical Index or Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax makes the most unlikely of character matchups a reality.

Fighting Climax features a fighting system that is both easily understood and complex, thus catering to veterans and newcomers alike. Using weak, medium and strong attacks, each of the playable characters have move sets that are similar in execution, yet differ in attack range, power and speed.

Assist characters each have two moves that can either help you chain your combos or add a defensive strike, giving players a large range of flexibility in custom combo creation and play style. Speaking of characters, Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter and Selvaria Bles from Valkyria Chronicles join the battle as unlockable characters in Versus and Online multiplayer modes, along with their support character counterparts Pai Chan and Alicia Melchiott.

In addition to an original story campaign in Arcade mode where characters are summoned to overthrow the evil Zetsumu, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax features over 60 new vignettes in its Dream Duel mode. Exclusive to the console launch, these original cutscenes are penned under the supervision of Dengeki Bunko’s writers and add further depth to the interactions of this fantasy crossover of characters.

But the fan service doesn’t stop there! All of the stages have been designed after some of Sega’s most iconic series, so prepare to go faster in the nostalgic stage themed after Sonic the Hedgehog or declare war against your opponent amongst the Gallian and Imperial tanks of Valkyria Chronicles.
Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will be available exclusive to PS3 and PS Vita in Summer 2015, both digitally and at retail.

Wasn't that Sword Art Online game one of the Vita's top sellers in the US in the last year (despite the atrocious translation)? I suppose Sega is hoping SAO fans alone can make this release profitable.

Thats probably true, but personally I'm not even excited for the SAO characters, the rest of the roster is way more interesting.

Rentaro, Shizuo (Celty support only :( ) and Yukina are characters I'm looking forward to. Maybe Taiga, but only because she had some pretty crazy fight scenes in Toradora xD

Wasn't that Sword Art Online game one of the (a)Vita's top sellers in the US in the last year (despite the atrocious translation)? (b)I suppose Sega is hoping SAO fans alone can make this release profitable.

I know I'm gonna sound like a SAO hater(when I'm really just "Meh" about it, and actually do like Kirito).

(a)._. I still wonder(Shocked, just like many out there) how that came to be(to be honest).

When it has like around 6,000 tracked PSN players, and Freedom Wars(The Vita's hyped game of 2014 has nearly doubled the numbers/ around 11,000).

Obviously not the actual units sold, but still something to base on(Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc also has double SAO's tracked players).

(b)I don't think SAO is the back bone of the reason, SEGA is aiming @ anime fans...not just SAO fans(sure a few are going to buy it just because it has SAO, and that's obviously understandable...but I can guarantee that's not the real/complete reason they did it).

A reason I would guess(since I'm not them) is because this title was HEAVILY!! requested to be "Localized" by various anime-gamer fans(once they found out it was releasing for Japan), who wanted to play as their favorite Series' character/s(Just like the numerous titles previously released sharing the same incentive as this 1).

Top memorable series such as: Accel World, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Black Bullet, Shakugan no Shana, Durarara!!, Toradora!, Strike the Blood, Ro-Kyu-Bu!, and even Valkyria Chronicles along with SEGA's own Virtua Fighter.

The game is/was also developed by French Bread(well experienced team that made the various Melty Blood titles, who have also recently developed UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late), so this project is/was in good hands; and the game didn't really present itself as a "Competitive Fighting game"(not saying that it can't, since I've seen a few Japanese tournaments really show "it can be played quite competitively").

It's just a decently fun title to play(which is easily expressed by the various "Unorthodox move sets" characters can perform).

One can easily laugh or be amazed @ how French Bread has developed an intriguing game here, with quite enjoyable Bizarre combos & specials.

So it's not just about "Fan Service", it's about a "fun" all-stars fighting experience.

People really didn't care who localized the game, as long as we got it; but deep down we all knew only SEGA could do it due to "Licensing"...and much to our unbelievable fortune SEGA today has delivered.

Well... I will repeat what I already said...

And we in EU get it as digital-only... because f*ck you SEGA.

I can see lots of people who don't play fighting games pick this up just to play as their favourite little anime characters, then immediately drop the game and never touch it again after getting smacked by people online who are actually serious about fighting games. It's kinda sad, really. There's going to be a lot of SALTY people playing this, that's for sure.

This is NOT and I repeat NOT a serious fighter as you make it to be ;)

This game has ONE, I repeat ONE, online trophy and it's for fighting for the first time ;)

This is Tekken-style. Story and stat related game.

When I saw videos for this game last year, I thought, like many others, that this game had close to no chance of localization, so I'm super excited that I was wrong. Now I have to watch the anime series I haven't watched yet that are in Fighting Climax before it comes out!

Nah, you don't need to =D

It has Onii-sama, you either use him and win or you don't and you are bound to lose =D

Why would you want to fight a climax tho?

I'll just let myself out.

I could bearly contain my beary big laugh.
