AbyssRex
Was wondering if anybody else had this problem. In Jak and Daxter the collection part 1 works fine on my vita. But part 2 and 3 are unplayable for me. Random controls get inputted without me hitting any buttons. In the middle of trying to do anything Jak will squat and stay squatted, Jak will zoom in, also Jak will change form without me hitting anything. Once he does any of those things its very hard to reverse it and he does it every few steps Edited February 9, 2015 by Zeromus
edu_gamer
Are you sure you ain't touching the back side of the Vita?, some inputs are placed there and even if you are sure that you are avoiding it, the "secure" part is so small that you'll end up touching it anyways.
liwenborg
Same as edu, L2/L3 and R2/R3 are on the rear touchpad. Its kinda stupid setup and whats make it even worse is the combination with -15fps. Still though I somewhat manage to complete all 3 games, but for the precursor trophy I did the glitch. Already done all challenges on the ps3. But I guess you will just have to just leave the fingers from the touchpad and you will be fine
AbyssRex
I didn't know that guys. I hope the back touchpad is what's doing it. Gonna suck since the way I hold my vita interferes with it. Gonna have to try to hold my vita a different way which will be difficult
Dr_Mayus
Yeah the back touch pad has screwed me up before. I thought the hoverboard sequence in R&C was broken until I realized I was touching the pad. I really wish Sony hadn't included that (as I have never found a game that used it well)
AbyssRex
Training myself to hold it differently now haha. Thanks guys! Maybe I will be able to platinum these 2 after all
DARKSCORPONOXR
for me jak 3 was okay but jak 2 was slightly buggy as was jak and daxter... the trouble is that they are extremely awful ports that have been stripped bare technically... if u want to see what unplayable really is then check out munches oddysee and u might not have any hair after... crashes are constant, glitches are throughout, requirements to unlock all of the list are buggy and after 7 full playthroughs via 5 reinstalls i still havnt finished it 100percent... its a joke lol jak 3 was a breeze compared to it
Vanilla
all 3 of them did exactly what you mentioned while i was playing even when i made sure i wasn't touching the back. it's just a horrible port

D-Tron
The control scheme from my experience is: Top left corner = acrivate Dark Jak Top right corner = Hoverboard Bottom left corner = HUD Bottom right corner = First person Are you playing the game without any peripherals? I always play my Vita with a grip so accidentally touching the back touch pad isn't much of a problem for me. (as I have never found a game that used it well)Someone needs to play Tearaway.
Auto-Tomato
Yeah, use a grip, makes a huge difference, and a lot more comfortable. Only downside to mine is that I have to remove it to charge the Vita, but it's worth the minor inconvenience.
AbyssRex
Would invest in a grip but waiting on a sticker kit to match my ps4 haha. I tested it out and no issues so far, other than its a little awkward holding it

Mog
Don't worry, it does get "unplayable" in the Take out Marauder Stronghold mission given by Seem, the game lags way too hard and if you don't hug a corner and spam the Beam reflexor you'll be stuck in that mission for over an hour, it took me 30 minutes to kill all 60 guys just because of the 1fps that was going on, as soon as i killed them all the game went back to normal.

DARKSCORPONOXR
AMEN, BROTHER! I swear, it's so nice to see someone else FINALLY who hates this port. i felt like i was constantly treadin on egg shells playin it... my anus puckered up whenever i had to use a vendo machine cause theres a 95 percent chancce its gonna crash... not just ordinary crashes either, actual full on system crashes... i kept gettin an error msg sayin 'this system has failed'... or somethin like that... its a joke of a game... there are smaller companies out there who make games on a smaller budgets with fewer staff than JustAddWater yet their games are as smooth as a pornstars snatch... AJ_Radio
As inferior as this version is compared to the PS3 and PS4 versions, Jak 3 is still a lot more playable than Jak II. In Jak 3 you have far more open ground, even Haven City was made to where you wouldn't run into any citizens and vehicles bound to crash into you. Story is a bit more interesting as the game takes you to more exotic locations. Jak has more weapon mods which are fun to use. Checkpoints are still unfair at times, but there are more of them. Jak 3 is more enjoyable and an easier game. In Jak II, I was basically fighting against the game from start to finish. Haven City was basically a giant maze where one mission would be on the other end and you had to navigate through a maze of shit, hitting a Krimson Guard or two initiating a fight. Checkpoints were few to none, in some missions you can easily lose 5 - 10 minutes by missing a platform jump. Jak's double jump didn't always register, there are no invincibility frames, and the game mechanics often worked against you. I spent over two hours trying to throw bombs into the Dark Eco wells in that one mission, I had to trigger the sweet spot in hitting the X button because otherwise Jak wasn't going to throw the bomb. Jak II was already a pain on the PS3, it was even worse on the PS Vita due to the low framerate and frequent slowdown, especially when you got into a big fight.

I can't speak in relation to Jak 3 on Vita as i'm not quite there yet but I am currently playing through Jak 2 on the Vita and its interesting you say you ran into problems playing it from start to finish as it seems to be the general trend when playing this version, well all the VIta versions it seems. Reason for me saying that is because I haven't ran into any problems, such as your double jump issue. I did have a bit of problems with the Jak 2 Eco Wells last night as yeah sometimes Jak wouldn't throw the bomb, it didn't take me as long as over two hours but over an hour at least, once I found the sweet spot for them it was a breeze. The only one so far that gave me great frustration was the direct mission after the Eco Wells, the destroying of the ship. Trying to destroy 40 Jetpack Krimzon Guards with the Vita controls wanted me to throw in the towel, managed to do it in the end and the actual destroying of the ship part was easy Edited March 8, 2023 by SirHandy
