Question about the Obol's doods

Do the Obol's needed to unlock the remix bosses only appear in the areas where that particular boss resides or can you find any Obol anywhere? For instance I need Ponce's and Herodotus's obols, so would I need to find their obols in their respective areas or do I have the same chances of finding them anywhere in the castle doods?

 

Also if I beat the last boss will I automatically be put into NG+?

Obols can be found anywhere really.

And yes, defeating final boss will force you into NG+

The obol's can be found anywhere, sometimes you'll do a full run and not even find 1 shrine, just kill your character and try again

The obols appear at the 1st shrine you visit after you kill a boss, if you kill khidr and go to a shrine in the next run the obol will appear, doesn't matter where you are.

If you kill the final boss you will be forced into NG+ and you will have to kill the normal bosses again to access the remix bosses BUT if you defeated a remix boss in the 1st game it will remain dead. So if you kill Neo Khidr and Alexander the IV in the first game and go into NG+ you'll only need to defeat Ponce de Freon and Astrodotus(or whatever he's called) to access the Brohannes
