Takara
@ERGOPROXY-DECAY Nice setup there, particularly wanting of that 980 although my 7970's still manage the games I throw at them. If you've used DDR3 RAM in the past, any noticeable change in performance of speed using DDR4? ('benchmark' wise DDR4 hitting higher MHz speeds appears to be better but how that translates into end user performance or noticeable differences, I don't know - and doubt it's actually noticeable, kinda like the 1600MHz staple whereby you'll notice benchmark improvement on RAM specific tests but it won't translate to any improvements in games for instance) However, I'd expect DDR3 2400 vs DDR4 2400 to win quite comfortably, the timings on DDR4 at the moment are pretty woeful, whilst DDR4 has room to flex, at DDR3 'speeds' it's a waste of money, but at least it does have room to flex and grow with Haswell-E. *rolls off to go look at some more techspecs, benchmarks and real world applications of DDR4* Edit: Some digging around and my suspicions were confirmed. In situations where RAM speeds and timings are crucial (applications such as archiving software or data manipulation) there's a slight improvement in DDR4 but only when picking 3000MHz+, matching DDR3/DDR4 speeds makes near as damnit no difference and is about on par of pros and cons in different usages. Differences in gaming is also next to none ~+/- 3% change in frames in either sides favour. Which is in the realm of error correction too. Learned something new today then! Light-and-magic
I'm running Windows Vista 32bit with a 2.5ghz intel core 2 quad core CPU (Q8300), 4gb of RAM (3.2gb usable), and I think the power supply or something is faulty because it switches off if it has to run a graphics card, so it's using the onboard graphics. If anyone has a worse PC than me I'd be quite surprised. Edited April 13, 2015 by Light-and-magic
