Yeah it's pretty hard, mainly because it's cheap. And the health packages only make it harder..

I've heard that the early Call of Duty games can be quite a pain with the grenades. I do not have much experience with the series, but I helped a friend beat the first Modern Warfare on Veteran, including that epilogue.

You just need to replay some levels ALLOT. This game wars my first and only plat for a long time. But even if the games was Hard from time to time i still had a great time playing it on veteran

I didn't think that when I started it.

Yeah its a hard game I dont think I finished it on normal, having HP is hard compared to regaining HP that modern games have.

I think its because games have gotten easier in terms of controls and movement. I tried playing through the original Ratchet and Clank and now find it really hard because your can't strafe ¬_¬

It's not, it's just not like more modern shooters/CoD games. Honestly it's really easy to never get hit, so the lack of health regeneration isn't a big deal. Modern CoD games are much harder to avoid damage in, but obviously they have regeneration to compensate. People think lack of regeneration = hard, but, it's all about how the game handles damage. Modern CoD has bullets and grenades from everywhere as soon as you poke your head out, classic CoD has smaller quantity of less accurate shots and not so immediate after spotting you.

Modern CoD is more about movement and accuracy etc. while classic CoD is more tactical with position/timing and less your mechanical skill on the controller.

It has an unencrypted save, probably a few that haven't been caught

Call of Duty Classic is the re-release of the original game that came out in 2003. Modern Call of Duty from Ghosts onward is more about health regeneration as well as a more hectic setting, which is realistically more accurate of what actual battles are.

I died over 500 times before I beat Veteran difficulty. With the lack of health packs you will have to replay certain sections countless times before you reach the next checkpoint. The game has a habit of not saving if you have low health, so keep that in mind.

CoD Classic is one of my platinums i'm really proud of. It was the only game, in 10 years of trophiehunting, that forced me to throw my controller. Never happened before, never happened after. But finally, i got it.

For me it was nightmare glad I make it through and platinum the game

I still don't understand how the rarity isn't so much lower, as I don't see that many people are physically and mentally capable of completing this game on Veteran. Anyhow, for me personally, the hardest missions by far are Battleship Tirpitz (British) and Pavlovs House (Russian). These two require so much perfection at practically each step of the mission. Some worthy mentions would also be Pegasus Bridge Day, and certainly that Eder Dam mission.

I found a really good playlist on YouTube that walked through the entire game on veteran, and since the spawns are always the same it made most of the really difficult missions much more doable. The only one that still sucked was that truck chase.

My third platinum and yeah veteran almost brought me down to tears.  8-9/10 in difficulty because of that trophy but also possibly the greatest COD I've ever played.  9-10/10

I love the campaign for this one. Within the top 3 in regards to CoD campaigns...if not the best! This is of course my own personal opinion. Veteran mode was a fun challenge. It has its moments of difficulty, but nothing that anyone can't do with all the available guides out there. 👍

I've been through a hard time while I was playing this game, and I will explain why: Veteran difficulty is very unbalanced, once you are not allowed to take damage on the way to the next checkpoint, unless when you are at the last one of the mission, so you can finish it being shot like two times or so. Some of them are pretty hard and time consuming (like the ones in the Battleship mission, which is the hardest mission of the game, in my opinion), since you'll die a lot, including lots of cheap deaths, thus making you feel very angry. Some missions have those truck sequences in which you can't even protect yourself from enemy fire, it's totally luck-based and unfair!

Truth be told, the game itself has some problems, but it's an old game, to be honest. Therefore, the platinum requires more persistence than skill, and, for this reason, it was a mental tiredness for me. Even Medal of Honor: Frontline was less stressful than this, however, it was a bit more challenging due to the fact you don't have checkpoints for the entire mission, although you do have medkits to pick up. By far, one of the most difficult platinum I've got, and I'm really proud of it. The game is very good, by the way, despite all of its problems.

I haven't played COD Classic but I assume it is like MOH Frontline which kicked my arse because of being so used to health regen.

It's very similar. Frontline is, if anything, harder / more difficult due to the fact you have to re-start the entire mission if you fail. i'd give MOH Frontline a solid 10/10. The heavy Medals trophy (MOHF) is fairly hard going too - if i remember the trophy is for getting 95% kills and finishing with above 75% health. Also MOHF has a mission where you have to sneak through a mansion - that was the toughest mission i've ever played in any game (imho tougher than the Reich mission in COD World At War which is a legendary plat breaker). i don't think CODc has a mission half as hard as MOHF's mansion or [email protected]'s Riech. Those three games are always going to be mentioned together because of their comparable difficulties and the era they were released - certainly cod has got a whole lot easier since those earlier games.

As said above, the Battleship Turpritz and Pavlov's house are kinda notorious in CoDC for being tough, but that damned truck chase was the one i spent most time getting through, as short-a-mission as it is. Man what a pia that mission is.

I've platted this twice, second time on my 100% account that has some of my fave games on (CODc / MW2 / MW3 / MWr / Ghosts / SEv2r) and it was a whole lot easier second time round - remembering the best routes and strategy's etc from when i played it years ago i platted it second time round in about 2 weeks. CODc is very doable - tho tbf, that truck chase did make me question whether i could finish it second time round as there is an element of luck to that mission.

On my replay, first time i did Pavlov's house, got to the 'safe' spot on the balcony outside (where you have to defend the house once you've taken it) and a guy walked right by my buddies (one of whom was standing in the doorway) came through the door and one shot killed me.

I'm not sure about others, but when i played CODc on Veteran, if i got hit i would restart the mission - no point in dicking around continuing with depleted life as the auto save is negated when you drop health, so i would always restart unless i was very near to the end of the mission.

Great game tho, and a true classic, a very proud plat for me to have - hence why i did it two times lol. One of my all time favourite games, Frontline being another one that i have yet to do on my new account.
