Popular Post Venocide
Square Enix have been teasing a game and the website now indicates that it will be revealed on April 15th. As it turns out, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals an announcement for Star Ocean 5. Details are scant for the time being, but the magazine reports that Star Ocean 5 is in development at tri-Ace, and is being made for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, with an unknown release window. The teaser site has the date of April 15, 2015, which is the publishing date for Famitsu in Japan, so it’s more than likely what the surprise title was going to be. http://www.siliconera.com/2015/04/14/star-ocean-5-announced-playstation-4-playstation-3/ So excited! Dragon-Archon
Let the grinding begin. This might be a good excuse to try Star Ocean 4.
skateak
Let the grinding begin. This might be a good excuse to try Star Ocean 4. Right there with you on that one. Never played it but Star Ocean: The Second Story is one of the best games I have ever played. EDIT: So excited. It even has the original devs. I want this more than Final Fantasy 15 now. TigressLion
Star ocean is one of my FAVOURITE series, aside from tales and a few other nostalgic ones.

killivincent
Yes please! 1,2 & 4 are great. Hopefully it's not like the 3rd one. I'm not a fan of it.

Wdjat Prinny Doods
YEEEESSSSSS DOOODS!!!! Was starting to think they had killed off the series, so hyped! Wonder what the battle trophy list will be like: Will it be really brutal like SO3 or extremely grindy lime SO4?
locutus442
Come on Square Enix, just take my money. *does happy dance* Now please, for the love of God, don't make those battle trophies as grind-tastic as they were in The Last Hope.

Parker
PS3 too? I'd rather the developers focus all their time making the best game they can rather than having to worry about last gen hardware, hopefully it doesn't effect the game negatively, Parker

But hey maybe SO6 will be ps4 only. Not to mention that I still think SO5 will be awesome!
starcrunch061
It is about goddang time. PS3 too? I'd rather the developers focus all their time making the best game they can rather than having to worry about last gen hardware, hopefully it doesn't effect the game negatively, Parker While it certainly could affect gameplay negatively, graphics are never a huge issue on Star Ocean (or RPGs in general). I have no problem with the decision. My personal guess is that this game has been knocked around for a long time (it's been YEARS since The Last Hope was developed), and is probably a PS3 game in an unconvincing PS4 skin. SteelFreaxx
Awesome news, i need to get back to Star Ocean 4 for the time being. @killivincent - “For Star Ocean 5, I wanted the game to overtly take cues from Star Ocean 3 and draw its essence from that game.” - Shuichi Kobayashi (Producer)

kidson2004
The only SO game I've ever played was Star Ocean Til the End of Time on PS2, and THAT was a fantastic game! Got The Last Hope Interntional Edition (have yet to play it ) and I will be picking this up for the PS3 whenever its released. May just kick around and get the Limited Edition of this game. PREDRAG-K
The only Star Ocean I've played was 3. I enjoyed it, but my disc was scratched so I never got to finish it. The only thing I hated was that losing MP meant death. But, I'm looking forward to this. May even pick up #4 to get myself more excited.

DarkPirate2007
Awesome, another Star Ocean game! I've been waiting for this for the longest. Now that I think about it, they should consider of making a remastered version of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.
