Popular Post Dragon-Archon
Warning: this page contains a lot of epic content. Overexposure to too much epicness can cause blindness, but this is just temporary....probably. Credit to Floriiss for creating this epic banner Welcome all to this epic quest, which is to obtain the Star Ocean 4 The Last Hope platinum trophy. Here we will chronicle our journey and adventures while having as much fun as possible. Some of us may one day claim this treasure: General Information Are you interested in how this thread came to be? If so, take a look here. This Let's Play is created to help each other obtain the SO4 platinum trophy or to just play the game for fun. You can play it at your own pace and there won't be any checkpoints, because the game already takes long enough to plat . The only rules are: you must obtain all trophies legit and people with hacked games aren't allowed to join. If you're going for the plat, there are useful links and helpful tips posted below. We also have few advisors who already have the plat who you can consult if you have any questions. You don't have to start on June 1st and it's ok to enter later, though you can only enter until May 31 2016. You also don't have to start a new game if you were already playing it. If anyone else wants to join too, leave a comment and also mention if you're going to write your own intro. Please don't submit long essays, about 3-7 lines will suffice. If you want me to write your intro, you have to be active in this thread for at least 2 weeks. It takes some time to come up write one and it's disheartening to spend time on it, only for people to stop being active. At the end of this Let's Play every participant who joined will get a reward based on their performance to commemorate this epic quest. You can only get 1 reward and it's based on your highest achievement, which can be tracked with the trophies and their timestamps. So there's no extra thing you need to do for that, except join, play the game, and try to have as much fun as possible. RewardsDidn't you say anything about rewards? Yes I did and here they are: Bronze reward: Join and play the game, it's not necessary to obtain a trophy. But you must have at least a 0% trophy list on your profile (hiding your SO4 trophy list won't count). Silver reward: Join and earn 1 trophy between June 1st 2015 and January 1st 2017, any trophy will count. Gold reward: Join and earn a trophy for beating the game between June 1st 2015 and January 1st 2017. Trophies that count for this reward are: Silenced Satanail, Reimi's Ending, Faize's Ending, Lymle's Ending, Bacchus's Ending, Meracle's Ending, Myuria's Ending, Sarah's Ending, Arumat's Ending, Crowe's Ending, or Universal Victor. Platinum reward: Join and earn Chaotic Conqueror for beating the game on the Chaos difficulty between June 1st 2015 and January 1st 2017. Diamond reward: Join and obtain the Star Ocean The Last Hope Platinum Trophy between June 1st 2015 and January 1st 2017. The rewards are created by Dav9834. I almost did because the game decided to froze a lot while farming and I lost more than 15 hours because of this issues. When you guys reach the farming part be save and safe often, Like an hour or so... The game likes to frezee a lot specially in the post game dungeons. Before starting take note of all the missables. There are treasures and enemies you will be no longer be able to see when you reach certain parts of the game. Remember to make a separate save before one of the crew members left the game for good so you can focus on their battle trophies in that playthrough instead of starting a new game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Your first playthrough is your master run for battle trophies. Start with Galaxy difficulty so you can unlock Universe after beating the game. - Be sure to make a separate save file before Faize leaves the crew so you can load the file after beating the game and work on his battle trophies intead of starting from scratch. - Be sure to check out the missables before starting (treasures, monster data, weapon data, etc) and check out the differences between xbox and ps3 version because most guides are based on the first one. - Check the Battle trophies requirements before starting so you optimize your time and shorten the grind at the end of the game. - Go for all the character endings in this playthrough. (Some of them are missable) On 24-5-2015 at 6:48 PM, Wdjat Prinny Doods said: Almost nothing in this game is tracked including the items you create which is why it is HIGHLY advise you keep track of every item you make. There is one item you will create called the "Memory plate" that keeps track of some things like number of different items you created and how many monsters you have defeated total but aside from that you basically have to keep track of the stuff yourself dood :/. There are 321 items that need to be made and you don't want to be in a position where you have no idea what items you have left to create as you get closer to the trophy dood On 29-5-2015 at 4:14 PM, Masamune_316 said: Once you get to the 2nd planet, you can find a skill manual for “Treasure Sense” in the first dungeon you visit there (it can only be taught to the character you get just before-hand), this skill will show every treasure, harvesting, & mining point in the game on your map. I was able to get every treasure on my first try with this skill. Here's the exact location if anyone is curious: as soon as you enter Alanaire Citadel go left up the stairs, activate the big stone & continue moving forward, then take a left, then a right, the chest should be right in front of you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're going for the Platinum, NEVER sell any of your equipment! There are some items in this game that are either extremely hard to get again, or one time only, these items are required for doing 100% of the quests & item creation. A couple that come to mind are the SRF Protector (Reimi starts the game with this), & the Ancient Cannon (found in the Purgatorium), it might even be best to wait until you have the item duplication skill before you use these & make a copy of them, just to be safe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've always avoided the Spriggan Jewel, yeah it doubles your ATK, but it also halves your HP & cuts your DEF by 40%, I'd think you'd die in one hit on Chaos mode using that thing. But there's two things you can do if you're having trouble on higher difficulties: #1: farm Saber-Toothed Tiger Fangs from Unicorn Wolfs on Roak (must have Sarah with a maxed Zoology skill in party), you may be able to get them more easily from Leonblades but they're only in post-game. #2: farm Red Dragon Scales from Phantom Dragon Newts on Nox Obscurus (must have Myuria with a maxed Demonology skill in party). Synthesizing the fangs into your weapons will give you a 18% boost in ATK, while the scales will add 20% DEF to your armor. Also, if you make any Hyper Potions, they'll add a 5% boost to all stats (except for HP/MP) when added to any weapon or armor (you can add them to accessories, but you'll only get a 3% boost), I usually add those to my magic user's staffs, as they need the DEF boost. On 29-5-2015 at 6:54 PM, greenzsaber said: My game hadn't frozen ever since I turned off the battle voices (which means I was freeze free for about 300+ hours) I suggest doing that after beating the story or immediately. Let's face it, it does get annoying hearing Edge saying "I was just getting warmed up, bring it on!" after every fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bonus Board Tiles: Pink (HP/MP) Kill enemy using only skills Green (SP) Ambush Yellow (Money) Multi-kill Blue (Exp) Kill with a critical hit Only the SP or HP/MP one I'd say is useful early on. The rest don't really matter as much until you get to the 7 Star Dungeon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wouldn't recommend the Earth difficulty route, as it will take an extra 5-15 hours depending on how you play it. Galaxy is easy enough as it is, and the pre-Faize split save is the best way to go. I would basically just look over the Efficiency Guide, as it has a pretty good plan. The main change I'd suggest is to farm Bacchus' robotics drops on the Cardianon Mothership on your first playthrough, as that will take care of a lot of Faize's battles for the 3K battles BT, get one of the most annoying BTs out of the way, and set you up nicely for when you go back to your Faize save to work on his BTs (He and a bunch of your party will be a bit higher level than if you didn't do this. I know it sounds a bit silly to start the BT grinding already on your first run of the game, but I think spreading the grind out makes it easier, and I think doing the robotics drops farming early on helps in the long run, as the mothership is a missable area. On 29-5-2015 at 7:03 PM, Aexuz said: Completely agree. Its not worth going for an extra playthrough on Earth. There's not much difference in terms of difficulty between Earth and Galaxy. And as you said Cardianon Mothership is definitely the best place to farm Bacchus. The task is boring as hell and it can take around 15 hours to get all the drops so I suggest making a separate save in tha part of the game and come back later to grind just like Faize. On 29-5-2015 at 7:16 PM, greenzsaber said: My suggestion is actually when you get to the Mothership first thing, you'll focus on getting Bacchus' drops out of the way (with Faize in the party), then move on with the story. It means you'll have to spend 15-20 hours just killing robots with Bacchus before you are done with that area and progress, I recommend doing it like this for the following reasons: 1.) If you're doing the pre-Faize split save, anything you do before Faize leaves the party counts towards both your Faize BT playthrough and your 'main' BT playthrough. The 15-20 hours you spent on farming the drops before Faize leaves will carry over to both saves once you branch off. There's a few other little things I recommend doing before the Faize split, but I don't remember what they are right now. 2.) 3K battles is a lot of battles. I did lot of the Bacchus drops farming on the mothership during my Faize BT run and it still ended up being the last BT I had to get for him. On 5-6-2015 at 2:11 AM, TheFinalEmblem said: Here's a little tip for getting Reimi's 33rd and 75th BTs, as well as Bacchus' 11th, 36th, 61st, and 80th. Reimi's involves killing an enemy at an exact minute interval, these being 1 and 3 minutes, while Bacchus' involve winning a battle at an exact minute interval, these being 1, 2, 3, and 5 minutes. I highly recommend using a stopwatch or timer or something for this, but if you do not have one, you can max out Auto Heal on a character and use that, as it activates every three seconds at max level from the start of the battle, so just count to the 19th, 39th, 59th, or 99th, then count 2 seconds in, then attack. I'll explain why below. The counter begins as soon as you can move with a character, so hold the control stick in a direction, and as soon as you move, start the stopwatch or timer. With the stopwatch or timer, I recommend attacking when it goes to xx:59, as it'll probably take a few nanoseconds to a second and a half for the hit to connect depending on the character and range of the attack, and there's probably some small margin of error in nanoseconds between the battle starting and you activating the timer/stopwatch. If you don't get it, all I can say is try again. They can be very tedious as you have to wait each time if you don't get it. You can get Reimi's in one battle if you're careful, but you must do Bacchus' in separate battles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If anyone wants an easy way of doing the "Kill 100 [status ailment] enemies", a slow but sure fire way to get them easy is by synthing a weapon with "Add earth element to attacks" and also synth whatever status ailment you need onto it and go fight the Lamia Radix enemies in South Aeos. They're immune to earth so they'll take no damage and you can keep wailing on them until the status ailment finally appears, then switch to the character that needs the kill for that ailment and have them kill it. You can then bring it back using Meracle's Ocarina skill and repeat. Also, having something on that gives more hits per attacks would be immensely helpful as well. I know the wrist accessory the "Slayer's Bangle" has the effect initially, and you can synth those into each other so it has up to 4 extra hits per attack. That's the best thing to do. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thought I might post on how I got some of the high exact damage BTs, since they can be a bit of a pain. Keep in mind, this is on Galaxy Mode, so these probably won't work on other difficulties without a few adjustments. I have the setup of equipment I used to help. but you don't need that stuff equipped, as long as you can get to the attack I had, or a few digits around it, you'll be okay! Also, I have not given any of my characters seeds unless specifically stated. Also, some of the stuff in () may not matter, but I'm writing it anyway, just in case. You'll have about 9322 if you do that, which is fine.) Use Long range attack on "Bugs, Bugs, Bugs" arena battle. I recommend to make an alternate save before Faize leaves, because you can work on Faize's BTs as soon as he joins the party. Otherwise you'd have to do that on a harder difficulty. For BTs: Always keep Faize in the active party and keep battling enemies. Faize needs to participate in 3,000 battles (you don't need to control him for that). Always kill a new enemy with Faize (while controlling him) for his 130 different enemy type kills. There are missable enemies in Cardianon and Earth. Bosses are missable too. Also try to kill the 6 bosses (Armaros, Barachiel, Sahariel, Tamiel, Armaros Manifest, and Kokabiel) with Faize. These count as enemy types and Grigori kills (Faize has a BT for 55 Grigori kills). When a boss uses a new attack, it means its hp is low and is almost dead. So use that as an indicator to switch to Faize and put everyone else on manual. Besides killing 1 of every type with Faize, try to get as many kills with Edge to work towards his 30,000 (!) kills. You have to control Edge when killing enemies in order for that to count towards the BTs. When you reach Cardianon, I heavily recommend to farm Bacchus' 999 robotic kills, 255 robotic drops, 255 Rush Mode activates, and 255 jumping kills. Because you can work on Edge's 30k kills and Faize 3k battles. Before attempting 255 -ology drops, max out Bachhus' robotic drop skill. Creating an alternate save and doing it later won't count towards that progress. After getting 999 robotic kills, you can switch to Edge to kill enemies, but MAKE SURE BACCHUS KILLS THE LAST ENEMY. Otherwise the drops won't count towards his BT. When Faize is in the active party, the battles count towards his BT. But 1 battles + 1 or more ambushes only counts as 1 battle. This gives a higher drop rate for robotic drops. You can try to not get an ambush, but it will take longer to get the drops. Your call which one you choose. I went with surprised battles + ambushes and it still took me a little over 24 hours to get 255 drops (Bacchus and Meracle have the worst -ology drop rates, the others can be done in 3-5 hours). While doing this I also worked towards Lymle's earn 1,000,000 money by keeping her in the active party (no need to control her) and got several BTs for Bacchus, Edge and Faize. Try to get 11 green tiles and 3 pink tiles on the bonus board to farm SP (green tiles) and to heal HP+MP (pink tiles). You'll need a crapload of SP on Roak to max out HP Boost. After clearing Cardianon, keep Bacchus in the active party so that he gains exp and levels up. You need to kill 100 Kokabiel spawns later and having him overleveled will speed things up greatly. Earth is another missable area that you can't revisit, so get the type kills (3 monsters + 1 miniboss) with Faize and switch to Edge after that. You can use scan on the mini boss to see its hp. On Roak you can use scan on the only story boss (Tamiel) and get Edge's "kill a grigori with a Rush Combo". So create an alternate save file before fighting him. It took me 4 retries to get the BT, because Edge has to land the killing blow. Make sure to teach Chain Combo to Edge and max it out, otherwise this BT is impossible. Chain Combo can be bought in the stores on Roak. The Tamiel fight is also an easy way to get Meracle's "Steal a weapon BT". You can find the Steal skill in the dungeon on Roak in a chest (the area where you enter the Purgatorium). ALso buy HP boost for everyone and max it out (Arumat already has it, so you don't need to buy one for him). During the Aeos revisit for story progression, be sure to create the recipes for Faize's 4 weapons. You need these later to create all items and Arumat also has new recipes. Create 2 alternate save files before the Phantom Ambush fights on Aeos. Because you've farmed 255 drops on Cardianon, you'll be overleveled. This is a very good place to get Edge's 3,4,5, and 6 ambush BTs. You can't get them all in 1 fight though (you have to save the game after the encounter to save the BT and reload to get another). After the ambush, Faize will leave the party and you get Arumat. From this point on, kill everything with Arumat for his 30,000 kills. The only exceptions are the 999 kills that other characters need. Whatever you do, don't overwrite the 2nd alternate save. Once you've cleared the game, reload it, fight the Phantoms and you can choose to keep Faize and get the rest of his BTs. When you get Arumat, kill 999 bugs in the Miga Insect Warrens on Aeos before the boss to level him up a bit and to get the BT. On EN II kill 100 Kokabiel spawns with Bacchus during the boss fight. The spawns don't count towards Edge and Arumat 30k kills, so it's no use farming these. I jump 100 times with Sarah every day in 1 battle to work towards her 5,555 jumps. Keep playing the game while killing everything with Arumat. After beating the game, you can use the postgame dungeons to quickly get the other characters' -ology drops (Meracle still takes around 20 hours though). Colosseum matches are a great way to combine status ailment kill BTs. When you reload the 2nd save file to keep Faize, you can work on the remaining kills for Edge and get the remaining BTs for Faize, including the remaining Grigori kills. Use Edge's Mystic Cross (learned at lvl 39) to also work towards his 8,832 meters jumping in battles. If anyone has something to add, please post it. It would be great to have a BT roadmap and post it on the OP. On 23-8-2015 at 4:29 AM, XchocomanX said: #OhMy I hope anyone find the following useful. Hello everyone! I’ve decided to provide some tips with my experience (And the internet as well ) on Universe/Chaos. Who knows, maybe they’re useful for someone? These both difficulties aren’t a joke nor are for the faint of heart. But with enough perseverance anyone should be able to make it through them. I did, after all. And believe me when I tell you that if I was able to beat them, anyone can. Galaxy is major cakewalk compared to these difficulties and, unlike Galaxy, enemies on both difficulties will enter Rush Mode quickly. This means that even the Adephaga can and WILL turn you to shreds given the opportunity. The following is just a “visual” aid on how to go through this game as quickly as possible on difficulties. First you’ll need the 100% monster info on the Spriggan, Arch Spell master and Ashlay Bernbeldt, thsese 3 will help you a lot through the journey. Aeos. Open every chest you see around. Yup, all of them and save before the battle against Armaros. Whatever you do, DO NOT ENGAGE A SINGLE BATTLE against the enemies before or after Armaros. Not only they’re incredibly hard to kill but they won’t even give you enough exp points for the trouble. If you open all treasure chest before Armaros Both Reimi and Edge should be either level 4 or 5. Armaros As the battle starts, set Faize on manual and proceed to blindside the enemy with Edge then use Forward + X this will launch Armaros into the air and you should continue with X+X+X Edge will jump and hit him where it hurts . Rinse and repeat until the shell breaks and when it happens just hit the weak point until it dies. Lemuris Faize will give you a monster jewel. Turn it into an Ashlay jewel and equip it to Edge and prepare to cause some mayhem . Run to Triom so Lymle joins the party. She learns Healing at level 6. You need it. There’s another Monster Jewel on the Frozen Lake before the Alanaire Citadel. Take it and make another Ashaly jewel. Give it to Reimi. Once you enter the Citadel, fight the Lizard enemies. These are easy to kill and you want the EXP for Lymle, anyway. Dragon New Mini Boss This shouldn’t be a trouble if Lymle has the healing skill. Deal with his buddies then proceed to break his face. If someone is dead, revive them. So they get EXP. If you want easy EXP the quest “The Little Lost Girl” on Woodley will give you 50 exp points. Restock on fresh sages while you’re there. Celestial ship. Lymle NEEDS to have Healing by now, seriously, if she doesn’t have it grind until she does. Once she gets it turn off all her spells but healing. While you’re inside the Celestial Ship look for the “Skill Manual HP Boost” and give it to Edge. Spend some SP on it. You’ll also find the Cardianon Sword. Equip it right away. Barachiel Recommended level: Universe 10+ Chaos 14+ For this boss all you need to do is to attack it until it hits the ground. Once it does that hit the weak spot for MASSIVE DAMAGE ( ). Leave Faize and Reimi on Manual so they can use Fresh Sages if Edge dies during the battle. Be wary of the Ice attack of the boss when it hits the ground. If you see it GET THE FUCK AWAY FAST! The attack will either kill you or leave you frozen and ready to be killed. Cardianon Mothership Once Bacchus joins, make a spriggan jewel and give it to him. You may want to give him the Chain Combos manual you found on Lemuris and level it up to 10. Level his Galvanic Shock skill to level 10 as well amd set 6 Galvanic Shock. Tade him for Reimi as you want to have Faize as much as you can. Fight as much as you can here, the dragon enemies near the end will give you trouble LOTS OF TROUBLE, but the exp is worth the hassle. Remember to restock on healing items on the vending machines Sahariel Recommended Level: Universe 16+ Chaos 22+ Galvanic Shock spam. Baby! Seriously though, this boss is a joke even on chaos. Alternate Earth Grab some chests, skips some scenes, kick some little alien ass on your way to the boss. Genomic Beast Recommended level: Universe 20+ Chaos 26+ Galvanic Shock this monster until it dies. Or crush him with Edge. Whatever suits your playstyle. Roak Black Eagle Recommended level: Universe 24+ Chaos 28+ Equip a spriggan jewel or an Ashlay jewel before the battle. This one is easy just blindside the bastard, slash him and jump backwards to avoid his attacks. Avoid him when he enters his rush mode and you should be fine. When you get to tropp buy some HP boost and 1x chain combos and some red herbs. When Myuria joins, make an Arch Spellmaster jewel for her. Give her a chain combos manual, level it up to level 10 and set 6x Ice needles. Give her a HP boost manual as well and level it up to level 4 or 5. Do the same for Faize (Chain combos + 6x Ice needles) Guardian Beast Recommended Level: Universe 28+ Chaos 32+ This one is tricky but not too tricky. Use Myuria as leader and spam Ice needles until you can start a rush combo. Do this 2 or 3 more times and he should be death. You can also use Bacchus and spam Galvanic Shock until it dies. You may want to remove the spriggan jewel for this method, however. Tamiel: Recommended level: Universe 30+ Chaos 35+ My party for Chaos was Myuria (Leader) Lv 35, Faize Lv 31, Bacchus Lv 32 and Lymle Lv 30 This battle is hard, like really. The problem here isn’t even Tamiel but his Sydonaist buddies with him, ugh. As the battle begins, kill the Sydonaist quickly, by the time Tamiel shows up, Myuria should have rush gauge ready to use. Use it while targeting Tamiel and watch how roughly half of his HP vanishes. Then kill all sydonaist but one and proceed to finish him off with another Rush Combo or just with Galvanic Shock. Aeos Phantom Ambush Recommended level: Universe 32+ Chaos 38+ My chaos party Myuria (Leader) Lv 38, Faize Lv 33, Bacchus Lv 35, Sarah Lv 37 This bastards don’t fool around. Before the battle, synth the Arch Spellmaster jewel to Myuria’s default weapon and give her the Ashlay jewel. As the battle begins, proceed to spam ice needles, the 1st battle should end quickly. The real problem begins after the 3rd wave. If 2 or 3 of your comrades are down and Myuria is the last one, don’t desperate, just heal her up and wait to be attacked this should fill your rush gauge. Use it as a Rush Combo. Rinse and repeat until only one phantom remains from that wave and proceed to revive your buddies (start with Sarah so she can cast restoration) the phantom will be busy trying to kill Myuria (You, the leader that never stops moving) to focus on anyone else (you may want to set faize and bacchus on manual while Sarah brings them back and recovers them). Do this and you should not see the game over screen. Armaros Manifest Recommended level: Universe 36+ Chaos 42+ Enemies inside Miga Insect Warren give you between 2000 to 8000 (A little more on ambushes with some blue boards). You may want to abuse this opportunity. My Chaos Party Myuria Lv 45, Bacchus Lv 43, Sarah Lv 44, Arumat ( Leader) Lv 42 This one is a toughie. Still possible. Use arumat to kill the dermopteras. After that, switch to Bacchus and blindslide and galvanic shock that weak spot to oblivion. Rinse and repeat until it dies. En II Kokabiel Recommended Level: Universe 40+ Chaos 48+ My Chaos party Myuria Lv 49, Bacchus Lv 49, Sarah Lv 49, Arumat Lv 48 Before the battle, buy 8x stallion snaps. Syhn them together to have 2 4x stallion snaps and give those 2 to Arumat and Bacchus. Just like Tamiel or Armaros Manifest before her, the problem isn’t actually her but her minions. Deal with them quickly and then proceed to Rush Combo while she is in the yellow ball. Nox Obscurus Before doing anything enter the calnus, invent the recipe “plasma cyclone” , buy the items required, create 4 of these item and synth it to the armor of your main party. Thank me later Apostle Of Creation Level Universe 55+ Chaos 60+ The apostle is really easy, nothing to worry about here just pummel it down with any party you feel comfortable with. Satanail If you synthed the plasma cyclone to your armor, this is going to be a fun ride. The easy part is when he goes around with his orbs. The real “fun” begins when the orbs are no more. Just wrote that real quick . On 2-10-2015 at 0:37 AM, Dr_Mayus said: I didn't see this in the Helpful Tip section and it isn't mentioned in the guide (at least not what I can see). I was on Aeos (the second part where you get Arumat) and noticed that Magical Clay was in all the mining areas. You can get 6-8 magical clays on a run through of that part of the island and then go back to the ship and do it again. And I must say his trophy room is quite impressive, it contains souvenirs and treasures from all his adventures. He has also kindly agreed to host our farewell party the evening before we depart, such a swell guy. Greenzsaber A companion from Prinny's quest to obtain the SO4 plat, he has also agreed to be an advisor. When the team completed their epic quest and went their separate way, Green went on to undertake many other epic quests with his green lightsaber and just returned from completing Rogue Legacy. Over the years he has done many epic quests like Mugen Souls, The Guided Fate Paradox, Catherine, White Knight Chronicles, and WKC2. When Prinny and Aexuz agreed to advise us, they asked their old ally and friend to help us too. Now the old team can also enjoy their reunion and talk about their adventures, while relaxing in Aexuz's mansion (completely outfitted with a swimming pool, trophy room, lounge, game room, and has a wonderful view of the beach at sunset). Adventurers:Precision-Playy Precision is on his quest to get his 100th platinum trophy. After letting the community vote, he has bravely accepted their judgement. Out of all the team members, he has the most determination to see this journey through to the end. He's also the team's sniper expert, wielding a modified sniper rifle with a special scope that reveals the enemy's weak spots. Precision focuses on long range combat, and striking when the enemy least expects it. Hitting the enemy's weak spots to inflict critical damage while they are moving is child's play for him. Unfortunately, he abandoned the epic quest and platted another game for #100. Dr_Mayus The team's senior member and a medical genius. He has completed countless quests and learned the value of medical knowledge. Having such a veteran on the team certainly boosts our morale and improves our chances of succes. He keeps a level head in dire situations and can come up with a plan as long as he can smoke a cigar. Mayus fights with a strange weapon (something he refers to as "Adam Needles") he found during one of his previous adventures that can absorb the life of enemies and store it. Very useful if you ask me, because it can be used to heal others. HcG Clawz You want to inflict mass destruction with lots of explosions, carnage, and fancy lights? Clawz is your man for that job. Being Prinny's student for years, he's the team's tech expert with a knack for explosives that detonate in a pretty way (much like Prinny's chain explosions). Setting up traps, blowing up stuff, creating drones to fight for him, blowing up stuff, maintaining our long distance communication devices, and last but not least blowing up stuff. He does it all and prefers things end with a bang. Kochiya ShanaThat's right, ladies and gentlemen, we have a Flame Haze on the team. Flame Hazes are humans who've gained mastery over fire and can bend it to their will. A side effect about this is that she can trigger miracles (either good or bad) as long as they have a low chance of occuring. That will certainly help with obtaining the SO4 plat. Another reason for her to join us is to visit her sister Kochiya Sanae, who has been tending to the shrine where the SO4 plats are kept. Shana's a prodigy when it comes to controlling fire. Our enemies will soon learn to cower in fear before her, assuming they're not burned to a crisp first. Shana's power will also come in handy for igniting our campfire and cooking food, because let's face it, using Clawz's explosives for that would most likely kill us too. Dragon-Archon Yes, I too shall embark on this epic quest. You may be wondering what I can add to this already amazing team. Well truth be told, that thought also crossed my mind, but only for a split second. I shall reveal it in the next episode .... just kidding. As a descendant of the dragon clan I have trained for years to master the way of the ninja and dual wielding katanas. I can contribute to the team with my dragon vision (ability to see clearly at night), using a stealthy approach, and infiltrate enemy hideouts to open the gate for the other team members. TheFinalEmblem Introducing our youngest member fresh out of high school. Being the heir of a prestigious school, Emblem is a real casanova and can charm any girl. This is very useful when gathering information. He has decided to leave a life of comfort and luxury behind and seek the thrill of adventure, bringing with him years of duelling experience and his trusted spear. Always a gentlemen and there's only one thing that truely pisses him off, and that is to treat women badly. When he gets angry, his spear produces wind slashes that can easily slice and dice stone. Edunstar84 Star loves to take long walks on the beach and watching sunsets. When people are having trouble, she's always willing to listen to them. Indeed, Star cares a lot about everyone and is very loyal to the team. Always willing to watch everyone's back as we stand together. This makes her very beloved in our team. Her weapon of choice are a pair of retractable ninja claws and she seems to have an affinity with cats, which would explain her cat-like reflexes. Somehow she's also able to communicate with them and can use this ability to ask cats to do some recon for us. LouTheDroog Do you ever wonder what a human battering ram would be like? Well here's your answer: Lou is a 2 meter (almost 7ft) tall warrior, clad in heavy armor and wielding a giant 2-handed axe and a giant 2-handed warhammer at the same time. I mean how badass is that! He swings them as if they weight nothing, which is especially impressive considering his armor weights more than Lou himself. Enemy shields are useless against that much raw destructive power and usually the bones in their arms are shattered too .... that is if they survive taking such a mighty blow. But he also has a soft side: he enjoys playing his guitar and will certainly entertain us at night when we make camp. Masamune_316 Our most enigmatic member: he is always wearing a black collared cloak with red clouds on it, a kasa (Japanese straw hat) with a chime attached to it, and carries a red scythe that has 3 blades on it. Apparently it brings luck to the owner when the chime uh ... chimes. Masamune is fond of various poisons and uses a lot of different ones ranging from paralyzing to truth serums to deadly ones, which he can apply on his scythe. Nobody actually knows what he hides underneath the cloak and according to Masamune, he keeps his entire poison collection there. He's often found talking with Clawz to combine their poisons and explosives, which has yielded some interesting results. He also has a friendly rivalry with Mayus to see if he can create antidotes for Masamune's poisons, which in turn stimulates Masa to create even more potent versions. Needless to say Masamune is always exhonerated from cooking duty, because you know, poisons and all. Wouldn't want our adventures to end prematurely. POEman553 Legends tell about the ancient city Lordran far away on a high mountain where the gods used to reside. One day the war god Solaire rebelled and opened Pandora's Box, awakening the Old One from its eternal slumber. This unleashed a terrible curse on the city, turning everyone slowly into soul-devouring demons. POE is affected by it too and uses cursed magic to absorb the souls of the wicked to feed them to the curse. This prevents him from turning and has allowed POE to live for hundreds of years. POE is looking for the Maiden in Black to put the Old One back to its slumber, which is one of the maidens tending to the shrine where the SO4 platinum trophies are kept. He also has a habit of sticking his sword into our campfire, calling it a bonfire, and staring at it for hours. According to POE that reminds him of his homeland. Nevetsteven2 A parkour specialist, having freely roamed the city's skyscraper rooftops for years Steven has honed his skills perfectly. Carrying a grapple hook for emergencies and long jumps, Steven has also been dubbed "Spiderman" by the media. But as always the media goes overboard and created a version in where he wears a red-blue outfit and shoots webs from his hands. Steven specialises in hand-to-hand combat and disarming enemies. He also uses his grapple hook on enemies to pull them towards him while shouting "get over here". Steve is also the only member who can keep up with Star and her cat reflexes. The two of them seem really close and something seems to be going on between them. Royalredpanda All the way from a kingdom in Asia, meet Royalredpanda. This kingdom is famous for having entire herds of pandas and using panda hair for creating a lot of things. Being the third daughter of the King, Panda has been tutored by the best of the best in the art of Gunslinging. Like a real panda, she eats shoots and leaves (in more ways than one). Armed with a gun in each hand, 2 strapped to her feet, and 6 more in the holsters, Panda shoots her way out of every situation. She always travels with her red panda companion, who mostly sits on her shoulder and can use kung fu too. She also enjoys having shooting contests with Precision and while Precision always wins at sharpshooting, Panda is unbeatable at shooting the most targets in the least amount of time. S4V463_F0XH0UND Our most energetic member from the renowned Fariy Tail guild. Fox likes to cosplay as a boy, which led to a very awkward moment after she signed up and revealed how she really looks. She is searching for the lost Tail Gears, which allows the user to transform into other people. Rumor has it there's a Tail Gear hidden in the SO4 plat shrine. The more of these things you have, the more transformations you can store and the better you can mimic others (appearance, voice, body language, habits, etc.). Though she mostly uses them to play pranks on everyone with her best friend and partner in crime Shana. Red wields a crimson red longsword called "Blazer Blade" that can withstand heat. Shana managed to alter the blade's ability to emit heat too with every strike. SuperNinjoe21 A bounty hunter who searches rare items, relics, and animals and sells them to the highest bidder. Having survived in the wilds on his own since he was a child, Joe has excellent survival skills. The only things he would never sell are his dandy hunter hat, his belt, and his dagger that's made out of a dragon's tooth. The belt is made from the skin of a chimera and greatly amplifies the user's 5 senses (vision, smell, hearing, touch, and taste) and Joe uses the dagger for hunting animals. It can pierce even the hardest scales. Joe, Dragon, Star, and Steve are the ones in charge of hunting food for the team. Styx2319 The next member has sailed all across the world and made quite a name for himself: I'm talking about the pirate Styx. Rumor has it that he earned this nickname because he found a way to the underworld with an ancient map and sailed on the river Styx that separates the underworld from the land of the living. He was immediately attacked by Charon (the ferryman who crosses the souls to the underworld and requires a coin to do so) and after a fierce battle, Styx managed to defeat Charon. In the aftermath Styx claimed Charon's scimitar and compass, and plundered his ship that contained millions of coins (because why not). The scimitar has a special ability to affect the tide by influencing the lunar cycle and can also store moonlight, which can be used as a source of light and can be released as a flash to temporarily blind enemies. The compass always points to the thing the holder wants most and will definitely help us reach the SO4 plat shrine. Chuck Meet Chuck, he likes fast cars, ramen, and scaring people, and his favorite holiday is Halloween (because free candy and scaring people all day long). Chuck loves scaring people so much, he has developed a special kind of magic to control dolls. These are special kind of dolls that range from a good scare to striking fear into people. Some of his favorite dolls are a band of skeleton mariachis, a pink-haired, human-sized puppet called Sasori, and (his favorite) Chucky doll. The Sasori puppet is the most deadly and is outfitted with a lot of hidden melee weapons, a flamethrower, and can shoot darts too. Masamune has coated the melee weapons with various poisons and Clawz added explosive darts. The Chucky doll is mostly intended to strike fear and the skeleton mariachis are used for comical effects, though they and Lou make a good team when giving a concert. WhiteWalls7 When Panda joined, she asked her friend White to join too. At first White refused, until he heard our team consists of strong people with unique abilities. White loves to challenge strong opponents and wants to have a friendly battle with everyone in Team PSNP. He seems hell-bent to make Emblem angry so he can fight White with his full power and wind slashes. White has complete mastery over the sand and when he's not busy fighting, he likes to surf .... on sand. I mean, how cool is that! White can also harden sand and uses it to create our tents and walls when we make camp and harden any quicksand traps. HatiRagnarsson As a martial arts expert, Ragnar knows the human body and its pressure points. He uses electric-charged punches and kicks to paralyze enemies and charges himself to drastically increase his movement speed. Ragnar has a habit of waking up at 6AM sharp every day to start his training. It's not exactly clear how he knows this, but it has saved us from a morning raid more than once. White is always in for a sparring match against Ragnar and uses his sand to negate Ragnar's electric melee attacks and keep him at bay. This in turn motivates Ragnar to secretly develop a technique to shoot electricity as a ranged attack. Mystvayne Myst and her twin brother Shadow are from the mythical place Zanarkand (which is said to be destroyed 1000 years ago) and wield a unique power. Myst has control over light: she can store sunlight in gems, release a solar flash, create illusions, and bend light around herself to make her seem invisible. Her powers are strongest during the day. Despite having control over light, she's ironically easily depressed. That's because even Yang has traces of Yin. Her teamwork with Shadow is flawless and their ultimate attack is the Yin Yang combo, where they combine light and shadow to deal a devastating energy attack. This attack is very hard to master, because they must each use the exact same amount of light and shadow, otherwise one will overpower the other. Myst wears a necklace with the Yang part, which fits with Shadow's Yin part. Trying to play hide and seek with the twins is madness, because they are impossible to find. However, they can always find each other. Shadow0988 Shadow and his twin sister Myst are from the mythical place Zanarkand (which is said to be destroyed 1000 years ago) and wield a unique power. Shadow has control over shadows (I bet you totally didn't see that one coming): he can manipulate them, control other people's shadows to control said persons, create shadow illusions + shadow clones, and completely hide in shadows. His powers are strongest during the moonless night. Despite having control over shadows, he's oddly cheerful. That's because even Yin has traces of Yang. His teamwork with Myst is flawless and their ultimate attack is the Yin Yang combo, where they combine light and shadow to deal a devastating energy attack. This attack is very hard to master, because they must each use the exact same amount of light and shadow, otherwise one will overpower the other. Shadow wears a necklace with the Yin part, which fits with Myst's Yang part. Trying to play hide and seek with the twins is madness, because they are impossible to find. However, they can always find each other. XchocomanX What do you get when you combine a gardner with a mage with someone who is addicted to chocolate? Well you get Choco. He loves chocolate so much, he developed a magic to instantly grow plants from seeds so he can eat cacao beans almost everywhere at any time. Of course it works with other plants as well, like poison ivy, nettle, vegetables, and the carnivorous Venus Flytrap. Choco is in charge of growing our vegetables, setting up traps, and providing us with an infinite amount of cacao beans. Needless to say Choco is liked by everyone. He also has a chocobo chick in his afro, which isn't made from chocolate. But Choco keeps him because the name resembles the word "chocolate". During his adventures he's always looking for seeds from rare plants and flowers to add them to his collection. His dream is to find the legendary Ethereal Flower, that blooms at the Ethereal Queen's palace and is said to have platinum petals and a gem in the center. DarkPirate2007 As a child, Dark wanted nothing more than to fly. He spend years experimenting and eventually created a device that can grow wings. Dark carries this device on his back and it allows him to fly. This device can create 2 types of wings: angelic wings and demonic wings. The angelic wings are lighter than the demonic wings and allows Dark to fly faster. The demonic wings are heavy and are meant to be used as shields. Besides that Dark also wields 2 chakrams, which he can throw at enemies from the sky. He has implemented some kind of boomerang mechanism in these chakrams, so that they always return to him. Dark usually scouts ahead to find safe places for us to camp, to spot enemies, and tries to peep at our female companions while they're taking a bath. However, he always gets shot out of the sky by Shana's flames, Panda's guns, and Myst's light. Me3lingualMichael, aka me3lingual, was brought on board three missions previously (First Departure, Second Evolution, Til the End of Time) due to his ability to grasp other languages quickly without the use of auto-translation devices. However, shortly after liftoff each time, some sort of error would occur (electrical, mechanical, etc.) and cause the ship to turn back and abort the mission. Now, Michael isn't as young as he used to be. He volunteered for this mission thinking it will be his last opportunity to travel the universe before he hangs up his spacesuit and devotes his life to writing intergalactic translation books. Dioscuri_MEX All the way from Miracle City, introducing Dio. Dio's a bit special, because he's the grandson of the supervillain Puma Loco and the son of the superhero White Pantera. With a family like that Dio is constantly shifting between being a good and being evil. Because he hasn't decided which faction he'll join, Dio has been exiled from Miracle City. During this quest he hopes to decide which faction to join. Dio can also transform into El Tigre, gaining a lot of strength and extendable claws. He also has a habit of sometimes helping us and sometimes to join our enemies. But so far he always ends up helping us more than getting in our way. RaveNScythE18 Raven likes to draw and use photoshop. He has developed a unique magic that can create those drawings and edited images. This magic can be used for a lot of things: create ammo for Precision and Panda, create a cave for us to spend the night, or create showers, rest rooms, razors, mirrors, and other necessities that we couldn't carry. But also things like weapons and armor, or create shields and barriers. However, It's impossible for his magic to create living things (people, animals, plants, etc.) or edible things. Indeed, without Raven's creation magic we would have a hard time staying clean and refreshed. L33N3WB3 L33N is a real daredevil and loves doing dangerous stunts to get his next near-death experience and adrenaline rush. Having done all kinds of crazy stunts, L33N usually does insane things like driving a motorcycle packed with Clawz's explosives into an enemy stronghold and jumping off right before it hits the gate. L33N is basically the team's H.M. Murdock and always volunteers to serve as a distraction, that way he can gain the enemy's attention by doing insane stunts so that we can sneak around them for a surprise attack. Curiously, L33N's motorcycle always seems to repair itself. SweetcoopAll the way from a cold northern kingdom: introducing Sweetcoop! Sweet wields Ice Molding magic and can create anything out of ice, which is pretty cool if you ask me. Anyone? No? ... Ok. Creating ice shields to protect others is his speciality. Sweet also has a habit to ... instantly strip his clothes. Luckily he keeps his underwear on (miracles do exist). Apparently this is part of his training to withstand the cold, giving him complete immunity to it. Mike13858 Mike loves to dive. Hunting for long forgotten treasures on the bottom of the oceans is something he excels in. Mike feels most at home while being underwater and has mastered water magic to create giant water spheres, so he can sleep inside it. Curiously he has no problem living there and doesn't seem to need oxygen to survive. That leads to a lot of rumors that he's a merman. Mike always tells a different story when we ask about his ability to live underwater, so we have no idea what the truth is. During combat Mike can control any liquid that has water in it (be that mud, drinks, or the blood inside enemies) and can bend water into different shapes to trap enemies. Mike's powers are the strongest during the full moon, but the effect can be replicated with Styx' scimitar. FinalMiracle13A fresh and amateur trophy hunter who has decided to throw himself in the fray for his first real Platinum, SO4. Daunted by the undertaking the task of this great venture, he fears the levels of frustration that he knows are bound to torment his psyche. Nevertheless, he is determined to get over his habit of never finishing games, in the most masochistic way possible. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers....who knows if he will make it out all right..... STFUxDxD STFU is a Siren and according to legend only 7 Sirens exist at all times. Once a Siren dies, another one is born to take its place. STFU powers can manipulate gravity and create stasis fields, which can be used to temporary trap enemies. Before joining STFU traveled the lawless Borderlands on Planet Pandora and made a living as a Vault Hunter. Using the Vault Key to find vaults, STFU hopes to uncover lost treasures and artefacts to learn more about the mysterious Precursors. According to the Vault Key the SO4 plat shrine contains information about a vault. JMFV4223 Boooda56 Boooda initially claimed we were insane to undertake this epic quest, but we (Mayus and me) knew he was the same deep down. He's the kind of guy who goes along with any plan (no matter how crazy it is), jumps into the fray headfirst, while shouting cheesy lines. That's someone we want to watch our backs and it took a lot of coercion to convince him to join (which includes hiring his arch-nemesis Somalia). Boooda always wears a black biker outfit and a yellow biker helmet and wields a double-bladed lance that can bypass enemy armour. This enables him to mow down hordes of enemies with minimal difficulty. Boooda is very interested in L33N's motorcycle and always wants to ride it. Dav9834 Long ago the blacksmith clan and the dragon clan formed a pact: the dragon clan would share their knowledge to master dragon fire and protect the blacksmiths. In return the blacksmiths would create unique weapons and armours for them. These two clans were also among the founding members of Konoha (the village hidden in the leaves). Centuries later these two clans still live in Konoha along with the Prinnies and Aexuz. Dav is a direct descendant from the first blacksmith who mastered the use of dragon fire to create legendary weapons and armours. Many of our fellow participants wield one of these weapons. He has added his own improvements to the techniques passed down to him and earned the title of 'Master Blacksmith'. After forging some epic diamond rewards, Dav has decided to join us so that he can create one for himself. During the quest Dav can keep our equipment up to date and repair them if necessary. Jounochi Have you ever heard the tales about an underwater city? Some claim the city was too heavy for the support beams and sunk, others say the city was build underwater. Another version mention the city was attacked long ago by a terrible monster called Sin and the city's council decided to hide the city at the bottom of the ocean. A few even go so far as to say it's the remains of Atlantis. Whatever the truth may be, Jounochi hails from the underwater city Rapture. Jounochi is an expert diver, can easily hold his breath for 5 minutes, and knows everything there is to know about the underwater flora and fauna. His favourite weapon is a harpoon gun and Clawz has added a few explosives to some harpoons for that extra punch. Kyl542 Kyl is training for the Shaman King tournament: a competition that's held once every 500 years. The winner becomes the Shaman King/Queen and has to keep the balance between the spirit world and the physical world. Shamans can perform a Spirit Unity to temporarily fuse a spirit with an object. Expert shamans can even fuse with a spirit to gain more abilities. During combat Kyl wields a spirit-infused rapier. This rapier's blade can scatter into hundreds of tiny blade fragments. Using the hilt, Kyl can direct these fragments and shred almost anything and anyone. Tales-of-Fandom A Somatic from a faraway land. Somatics are people who can cure a disease called Despir. This disease eats the crystalline manifestations of a person's emotions (Spiria) until the person is nothing but an emotionless, mindless husk. To do that, Somatics use special devices (called Somas) to enter a person's subconscious. Tales trained for years to become a Somatic and during the first time he tried to cure Despir, something went horribly wrong. As a result the Spiria shattered and scattered all over the world. Once these pieces have been collected, he can restore the Spiria. One of the pieces is in the SO4 shrine. Using the Soma Tales can crush the minds of enemies, alter memories + emotions, and read their minds for useful information. DishwasherSafe Dish used to be part of an elite black ops team. One day a mission went wrong and afterwards Dish's body was enhanced with augmentations by using alchemy. These augmentations include: mechanical arms and legs, internal rebreather, being able to hack anything, a radar + sonar, GPS, and covering his eyes with sunglass lenses (because why not). The internal rebreather allows Dish to traverse poisonous areas without being harmed. The mechanical arms and legs allows him to deliver powerful punches and kicks and perform super jumps. Dish also studies alchemy and is looking for a philosopher's stone, which can be found in the Wandering Dungeon. This dungeon randomly changes its location and interior, making it very hard to find it. amazingR Kurorac Kurorac was raised in an Orphanage in Glutheim until he was six, when a women called Lina took him with her. She raised him to be a travelling Cleric and showed him how to make spectacles and work with glass of all kinds. He made all spectacles for everyone who needed (or wanted) them in the group. You can't fight if you don't see the enemy. Initially he joined the group because he heard that at the end of the Star Ocean lies the legendary platinum glass only a few have layed their eyes upon. ThePlatRunner locutus442 A former borg drone who decided to attempt to get this elusive trophy. He started back in the summer of 2011, but had a set-back later that year when my ps3 got stolen (this was before I was a ps+ member), so he lost all of the save data. After not playing the game for another two years, he finally decided to try for it again in 2013, this time as a ps+ member. Which was a good thing, as the ps3 got stolen yet again back in Oct. 2014, but this time the save data wasn't lost because of ps+. Rojiel A legendary scholar from the land of Eorzea, Rojiel goes wherever there is glory and fortune to be found. Captain of the formidable airship, Dusk Maiden, he lends support with his near-genius intellect and fairy companion. He is an adept practitioner of healing magicks, able to flawlessly stitch together grievous wounds in mere moments. NetEntity No one certainly knows who exactly this fellow is, or where is he came from. Even his true gender is unknown, as his body lacks noticeable gender characteristics. With his pale bluish skin, yellow glowing eyes, giant bat wings, claw-like fingers, dislike of bright light and the fact that blood bags (and, for some reason, scalpels) from the ship’s medbay regularly go missing, it is speculated Net is a vampire. He seems capable of interdimensional travel and upon arriving to a new world, he “links” himself to one or several natives (as he chooses not to show himself to the non-linked ones) and acts as their “voice in the head”, helping them to accomplish their goals, or twisting their actions to his whims, creating completely opposite possibilities. Linking his mind to many individuals at once across many dimensions made him somewhat unstable and strange. Last week he was caught at night, stumbling through the corridors and cursing some “elusive harvest points”. Net “Spectre” [last name unknown] exceeds in night recon operations, stealth, and aerial combat. He wasn’t seen with any actual weapons besides his... natural arsenal, although some wounds on his targets seem to be cut awfully precise for the claws. I haven't been this excited since I Platinumed Mugen Souls. Screenshots: I know they're not the best quality, but I tried doing video & it was too bright/blurry to make out so this is the best I could do... I can finally delete all those extra saves I've been accumulating, before I did though, I tried to get a little more of an accurate guess on my playtime: ------------------------- Masamune_316 - 47/47 Trophies - 900/900 Battle Trophies - 607:47 Hours ------------------------- Edge: 100 Reimi: 100 Faize: 100 Lymle: 100 Bacchus: 100 Meracle: 100 Sarah: 100 Myuria: 100 Arumat: 100 ------------------------- I was probably a little short on my first guess, so I'm just going to say 600+ hours & be done with it. I don't know if it saves the 7 hours it took me to finish the Galaxy mode (probably not) but that's not a problem. My Chaos time is a bit long but it's because I did the bunny races on that file and I wasted almost four hours by trying to get a tri-Emblum before realizing it didn't drop because I hadn't leveled up my anthropology skill lol. I still saved my game to keep the levels I had gained. The Faize time is the time it took me to get to 100% after the Phantoms battle save. The extra time is the time I spent reloading old saves to farm from mining/harvest points or saving on another slot not to lose too many items after some synthesis to get exact damage battle trophies. Of course it's probably more or less but 10 hours seems to be a good estimation.BT: 900/900 (+189) Edge 100% (+17) Reimi 100% (+30) Faize 100% (-) Lymle 100% (+25) Bacchus 100% (+26) Meracle 100% (+22) Sarah 100% (+29) Myuria 100% (+24) Arumat 100% (+16)Trophies: 47/47(+3)The last battle trophies I needed weren't that bad and the longest ones were the 99999 hit ones, 999 resurrections and those stupid Sarah's jumps trophies. But still, that wasn't really long. I got two power outages during the resurrections one (lost 600+ the first time, 400+ the second then rage quit and didn't play the game anymore that day lol). The exact damage ones were OK when you knew what to equip, I only had bad luck with one (Arumat 4444 IIRC). The last ones were quick ones like absorb element damage, recover from poison/curse/paralysis, recover stolen fols and so on.. The very last BT I got was Edge's 99999 hits and the last trophy was of course Ultimate Battler. Here's a pic of my Platinum (sorry for the quality): Now I must make a revelation: I had already plated that game on another account a few years ago! ( http://www.hostingpi...944image420.jpg ). I could have told it since the beginning but to keep my motivation intact I had to make as if I played the game for the first time and forget everything about my previous epic quest. Two years ago I created a new account for Japanese DLCs on Vita and finally it became my main account. I needed to get the SO4 Platinum on it to be satisfied and I wanted to get it before my PS3 get too old and risk a YROD and lose all those copy protected saves (I'm not interested at all in PSN+).I still remembered a lot from this game even if I hadn't played it since 2011 but at first I didn't even remember how to blindside I know we must never say never but I don't think I will plat this game one more time, even if I love it.Voila! I'll still be active on this thread until the end of the quest. Thanks everyone for the motivation you gave me = )Epic quest started on Sunday, August 9th, 2015 at 9:24Epic quest finished on Monday, October 5th, 2015 at 12:49 5. Mystvayne - Epic Quest completed on January 1 2016 Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship SRF-003 Calnus. Its extremely f*cking long mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no chocolate chip cookie has gone before...... It's all over folks! The grind is no more! I achieved my goal of making this my 100th plat and popping it on Jan 1st as part of the Plat Rain Day event. (Is there some sort of special award for that? Cause there should be.) Nevetsteven2 - Epic Quest completed on January 1 2016 My Journey has been completed by Poison, thy enemies are slayed and thy trophy has popped. It seems that I've taken the long scenic route, and lost my focus on conquering battle trophies in the year 2012. Thanks to this thread and many comrades , it has gotten me back to my gaming goals and I feel motivated once again. My main trophy goals included: World Biggest Welch Fan, Monsters, Treasures, Weapons, Space Ships, and EQ. Now, due to these accomplishments I have created a mysterious video using Eldarian Technology. After completing all of the tasks at hand, Giotto from EN II sent down one of the most powerful Blue bodysuits in the entire GALAXY. The suit was created to unleash my inner courage! I wonder why they didn't award a BT for using the Ocarina 1 million times with meracle. Can't say there was any moments where I felt I was getting tired or bored of the game and it eventually felt like routine playing it. I have to admit, I'm definitely going to miss playing this game every day. 8. Brightblade76 - Epic Quest completed on March 13 2016 Today could be the day... edit. Dr_Mayus - Epic Quest completed on May 15 2016 The lone doctor drags himself across the battlefield. Most of his friends have either abandon the Quest or have gone on ahead but still he clutches his Adam's Needle as he tries to save the Trinity. He beings the climb up the Wandering Dungeon navigating maze-like hallways and destroying crystals. Finally upon reaching floor 20 he sees a beautiful woman with wings like angels. He begins to ask her for directions but then realizes it is actually the dastardly Queen he has been sent to destroy. Gathering what little strength he has he leashes all hell upon her and after 8 minutes and 45 seconds her limp body falls to the Earth and he realizes his prize is at hand. He looks up through the dust and sees the Trinity walking towards him. Their bodies no longer twisted versions of themselves but instead they are once again his companions he has known so well. And thus the 4 make their way down the tower and out the door NEVER TO LOOK AT THE FUCKING PLACE AGAIN...ahem...I mean The End Earth Quest Run-73:20 Earth Faize Run-65:12 Galaxy-541:44 Universe 26:40 Chaos-27:23 Total Time 734 hours Now fire up the for the forge, break out the coffee and let us CELEBRATE 11. STFUxDxD - Epic Quest completed on May 22 2016 After preparing themselves for the final challenge ahead, Edge and the others take one last look at the Calnus before heading toward the Palace of Creation, ready to face the final hurdle of their journey. Sprinting over and over without rest; they avoid all enemies in between and skip every cutscene because they've all been seen so many times already. As they draw closer and closer, they begin to realize that all of the hours they've spent together are about to wrap up into one singularly, beautiful golden moment. After several months, it all comes down to this. They then enter the door and race to the end. They know the route so extremely well, it's like they've been here before. Total time to reach Apostle of Creation ~ 8 minutes. Edge, Reimi, Bacchus, and Sarah lead the charge. Within minutes, Apostle of Creation falls with relative ease. The team is not ready to celebrate just yet because they know the real battle is just ahead. Twisting and turning through the final path, they try to carefully navigate their way to the end and avoid entering any battles with the Grigori in between. Almost there...almost.... shit! Stupid Kokabiel again! A mere distraction from the real prize, the team quickly dispatches him and continues moving forward; nothing stands in their way now. They approach the glowing light and enter the battle with Satanail. Awaiting their arrival, Satanail doesn't hold anything back. Sarah positions herself in a corner and supports her teammates from a safe distance while the others gang up on Satanail with full force. Minutes pass and Sarah works extra hard to keep everyone alive. Reimi and Bacchus appear to take the worst of it. Then it finally happens...Satanail goes down and they emerge victorious! All that's left to do is sit back and watch the credits roll for the last time. "YESSSS, COMPLETION!!!" Thy epic quest has finally reached an end and that sweet, sweet SO4 trophy is now in hand (and permanently displayed in my trophy cabinet, of course!) Here are the final numbers Earth - 428:51 Galaxy - 27:10 Universe - 12:41 Chaos - 11:47 47/47 Trophies - 900/900 Battle Trophies - 480:29 Total Hours 12. NetEntity - Epic Quest completed on October 1st 2016 Edge Maverick woke up from the feeling of uneasiness. A quick glance at the clock told him that it was night by the Earth time, 2:00 AM. He waited a little, getting his thoughts in order, and realized the source of his anxiety. There was no familliar voice echoing in his head, snarkily telling him to “stop fussing and go back to your beauty sleep”. In fact, the presence he got so used to was completely gone. Edge carefully got up, hastily donned the uncomfortable, stupid uniform, exited the room, and ran down the stairs. The USTA-Calnus Recreation Room met him with silence and darkness... and two crimson orbs blazing right in the center of the room. A quick flick of the switch turned on the lights, revealing the pale winged figure sitting behind the table, as tangible and real as the Edge himself. “I see you have finally noticed the emptiness in your stupid head.” Red eyes switched to yellow. The vampiric demon was happily grinning, giving Egde a great demonstration of his... dental arsenal. “Very funny. What’s going on?” Edge walked to the table and stared at his companion. “Can’t you see?” The no-longer-spirit-like spirit stopped grinning and got up, giving the captain of the Calnus a serious look. “My job here is done.” “Don’t tell me. You’ve woke me up in the dead of the night to...” “Yes. This is goodbye, Mr. Maverick.” “But- everyone-“ “Do not need to know. You, and only you was my main host. I was but a passing guest in the minds of everyone else.” Yellow eyes twinkled. “Though, Arumat’s head was pretty great... I wish I’d gotten him instead of you.” “Hey!” “Just kidding. You are a good person, Edge. I admit that I was harsh to you, mostly because you so reminded me of him-” His eyes blazed red for a moment. “Especially when you went into your moping stage after that time... but you are not him, and I shouldn’t have hated you for the mishaps of another person...” The demon apolegetically waved his hand and strolled to the entrance to the Command Room. “Well, even despite all the stupid things you’ve done, and the near loss of my sanity, I must say... this was a great Contract. I don’t regret taking it.” The black mist suddenly poured out of the air, congealing into the solid object. The vampire held out his hands, absorbing the mist, and easily caught the object it concealed. After inspecting the object – a small statue, made of the shining white metal, he let out a chuckle. “Of all the things...” Edge came closer to take a look. “Is this... a Roakian bunny?” “Yep. Fitting, I must say. This is my reward for enduring your idiocy till the end.” A quick snap of the fingers, and the shining statue of the bunny dissapeared. “Where did it...” “Home.” He sighed. “Speaking of home, it’s time for me to go too.” The clawed hand hit the airlock button, forcefully opening the hatch. Edge stopped gaping and caught his arm, preventing the demon from entering the airlock. “No! The space will-!” “It won’t be able to do anything to the one who never was a part of this world to begin with,” the pale arm effortlessly phased right through Edge’s grip. “See? Don’t forget – I have no place here.” “Please, wait-” “Farewell, Blond Nuisance.” He hit the “Eject” button, and the hatches moved, cutting Edge off and throwing his body into open space. ~~||~~ The Calnus was slowly drifting away, and he was falling into the endless ocean of stars, his body rippling with the black mist. Myriads of tiny orbs of light shone around him, and he sighed, taking in the marvelous sight. The outlines of countless ghostly ships sailed past him, slowly becoming more and more solid, an endless armada on its voyage to the afterlife. Two familliar ships and a little spacecraft flew closer to him, and he choked, recognizing Aquilla, Calnus and Sol. Very soon Belena, Dantelion and Eremia joined their siblings. Finally reunited SRF-ships danced around him in the formation, and with a farewell blast of the warp-drives, raced towards the blazing stars in the distance, taking their final flight. He looked at the six ships until they, too, became twinkling stars in the distance, swallowed by the vast reaches of space. “Exiting this way was really, truly worth it.”, he whispered. And then the Void took him. ~~Final Stats~~ 47/47 Trophies 900/900 Battle Trophies Main Galaxy Cycle: 447:47 Hours Alternate [Faize] Galaxy Cycle: 144:43 Hours Universe Cycle: 13:17 Hours Chaos Cycle: 11:00 Hours Total Time: 616:47 Hours 29:09:2015 - 01:10:2016 Profile and Milestone pics: And a crappy platinum photo to tie things up: Well, this is it, everyone. And I may go back to the Ps3 version and get the platinum on that one, just not anytime soon. 15. Lum1nous1- Epic Quest completed on September 8 2018 Spoiler After 3 months of solely dedicating myself to this game (and the fact that I usually like playing my games one at a time), my long, epic journey has finally reached it's conclusion: Spoiler I'm a very, very happy gamer at the moment! If there's a game out there that tests your patience to the extreme, it's definitely Star Ocean 4...JRPG and the mother of all grinds, so to speak. Things I could have done differently to make time for the platinum more efficient: - Drop the idea of trying to complete every monster's bestiary to 100% - Save most of the battle trophies to be done until post game when everyone is at their strongest - Take the chance of facing and defeating the bosses at lower levels instead of grinding enough to where I actually dominate them easily - Skipping scenes in both my Galaxy and Universe playthroughs I suppose, but that would take away much from the overall experience I wish good luck to those who are still continuing this journey, as well as those who have plans on beginning it. For those that are having hang-ups on the platinum, consider at least doing a little at a time, even if it's for only a few hours for a day or two a week, since going the marathon route by grinding day after day after day can tire you out fast and may not be suitable for everybody. Oh and if anyone's wondering, my sanity is still intact. greenzsaber
Sounds pretty epic. I love Star Ocean 4 and would like to see where this goes.
ZeroXOF
You need a rival like Gary Oak to motivate all of you.
Dragon-Archon
If the anime is going to happen...I think the Trinity of Green needs to be present as well Naturally, I wonder how we'd all look as anime characters. Sounds pretty epic. I love Star Ocean 4 and would like to see where this goes. Thnx, that's what I'm hoping for. Are you going to join too? You need a rival like Gary Oak to motivate all of you. With a game that takes so long to plat, I don't think it would be motivating to turn it into a competition. Not everyone might go for the plat and they can still join. This thread is more to share your experiences and help each other. And people can join whenever they want too, so it would be unfair in a competition if most people got a head start.
greenzsaber
Thnx, that's what I'm hoping for. Are you going to join too? I already finished this journey so the best I can do is be an advisor of sorts.
Popular Post D-Tron
Dammit. I feel like I'm missing out on some awesome community events. Already got my BioShock plat and I'd be starting so far behind for Okami that I'm not sure it's worth it. And now there's no digital version of this game. Disc reader y u do dis? If this were specifically for going for the plat a competition actually could have been a good motivation factor. The plat race Mayus and I (where he was trying to plat Resistance 2 before I platted Star Ocean) was a huge motivation factor for my battle trophy grind. Even though he completely wiped the floor with me it made me so focused on finishing it I even cancelled preorders on other games at the time to finish it. Since this isn't specifically for the plat though I would agree that a competition isn't best for it dood.

I didn't want to make this a thread for obtaining the plat, because most people play this game for fun and I wanted to encourage as many people as possible to have a great time. And there are also other reasons, like not everyone has a lot of time to play games, people have tests or go on vacations during the summer break,

Superbuu3
Those character introductions are just amazing... if they don't get you hyped to see how this journey goes then nothing will I may have to get Dragon to write an intro for me one day as this just seems legendary Yes I second this, although I hope he hasn't set the bar high and people don't expect me to do this >_>
starcrunch061
Enjoy! I'm coming back to this myself, having recently written the guide here.

A game such as this deserves an epic introduction for an epic journey to beat the mother of all grinds in an epic way (that's a lot of epicness ). Hopefully people will remember this thread. Enjoy! I'm coming back to this myself, having recently written the guide here. Thnx, should I add you to the list?
TheFinalEmblem
Joining something like this would probably finally make me motivated enough to pick the game back up and get that plat, and since it's summer break, I have a hell of a lot of time on my hands to do this.
