17 posts in this topic

I'm installing Sleeping Dogs which is 17 GB and it says it takes 23 hours to complete. I tried everything there was a time it took 10 minutes to download 1GB, any ideas?

I had a similar issue with the Batman update recently, it was saying it needed 30 hours to download 3gb so I looked around the web and found this solution to change the primary and secondary DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 on your ps4 and thankfully it worked.

edit - direct link in case my instructions sucked http://www.gameconnect.net/content/9731/slow-download-speeds-ps4-try/

Switch to Ethernet if you are on Wi-Fi.

This! Also if it doesn't work right away give it a few minutes!

there are many posibilitys . Restart console helped me on ps3 sometimes .  Restart router helps almost always.  Maybe PSN servers are stressed . maybe your internet Provider has problems.   hard to tell a reason without more info ;) . try restart strats first .

Pausing>Resuming works for me most of the time.

Just keep repeating this process until you have a speed that matches your regular internet speed.

I was having the same problem. It was literally about 1MB every 30 seconds. I found this link though which was really helpful:

Well, I would paste a link if I could work out how! Seriously, why does ctrl+v not work here?

Anyway, google "A short pause remedy for slow download speeds on PSN" and you should see a tutorial on how to change your DNS number. If gives you 2 numbers, one's 'google DNS and the other's 'Open DNS'. I chose opend DNS and my download speeds are now back to normal.

Edit: never mind, guess I took too long to type this out. :D

Seems to be a problem with PSN lately. I experience issues too. Driveclub still takes 9 hours to download the remaining 2 gigabytes.

^ This. It works for both consoles.

It's Sony's servers throttling connections.

PS4 downloads have been even slower than usual for the last couple of days. I've only just finished downloading a 15GB Elder Scrolls patch that I started yesterday afternoon and left on overnight.

For me, when I download it takes forever, but when I put it in rest mode, games take 5-10 mins to download

My PS4 download speed is horrible and I don't to play with my router settings. There is an issue for sure Sony needs to fix it.

been having the same problem ever since I got my PS4, download speed is crap despite being connected to 50Mbs (dwn spd) via ethernet. My PS3 downloads games faster, and it is connected wirelessly...
