What an unfinished mess of a game.

..This is literally the 6th time my save has become corrupted. There have been several game breaking glitches I experienced. Like in the 3rd level the final enemy would not spawn causing me to have to restart the level. Hell, I played not even two days ago, and I got a black screen in the near end of level 2. Everything loaded, I could hear and shoot, but all I saw was that white fucking mark going up and down. And it was literally only there, Causing me to restart the level. Because I'm hunting for all of the trophies and I'm playing on Veteran. It also means on Shanghai (level 2) I CAN'T DIE OR I RESTART THE LEVEL. What I want to know is if anyone else are experiencing these glitches. And if so, how the hell can I work around them?

Really? I've heard from several friends who have picked it up in the past few months that have said most of the launch problems have been fixed and they're had no problem with it. Sorry to hear you're having some major issues though.

Wow, that sounds like the status of the game around the time it launched! The single-player has never been perfectly fixed, but your situation sounds crazy! Be sure that the game is updated all the way to its latest patch! 

 

As far as single-player save files getting corrupted, I remember a few months ago my single-player save still got corrupted, even after all the patches and DLC released for the game. So save file corruption has never been completely fixed for this game annoyingly enough. It seems like playing multiplayer gives a higher chance of corrupting your save data (definitely not as much as launch but it eventually seems to still do it). So like Goekie said above, focus on the single-player and don't touch multiplayer until you get all single-player trophies, backup your saves MANUALLY on the (PlayStation Plus) cloud, and hope it all works correctly Best of luck!

I've had the game most of the time since release and several times did the first 3 or 4 missions on Veteran in one sitting. When I'd return to continue, no save is there. Haven't been on for a while but it's unbelievable how they haven't managed to fix this. Then again, EA.

The chapter 2 thing happened to me. But I could die anywhere else in the chapter, except for the second part with the heli. So what I did on the heli part on top of the building, is I sat by the ammo create and threw nades until the area was clear

This game definitely has issues. Really glitchy. Kinda like in the underwater section of the South China Sea mission where you have to swim through that bullshit tunnel. It was all okay until my character started lagging and slowly moved his way backwards. Then when I tried to swim he kept getting slower and slower and fucking slower. A part that should have taken 2 or 3 minutes, took probably around 15 because EA can't Q&A test their fucking games.

It's still glitchy today. NPCs running through vans like Kitty Pryde. A helicopter flies through a rocky hill and makes it through without a scratch.

I'm playing the PS3 version (which is usually the worse version of any game that's available on both PS3 and PS4) and there are glitches still present after the last update for the last-gen release dating back to 2015. Issues include the following:

• Campaign
  • If you die during the part of the Shanghai mission just after escorting the VIPs to the chopper on top of the skyscraper an "infinite loading" screen will appear. The game is suppose to respawn you to the checkpoint you reached but the game continues to display a black screen with the loading animation in the top-right of it. The game respawn you but because this display won't go away you're basically playing blind. The audio can be heard, you can move around, shoot, throw grenade, deal/take damage but you can't see anything. When this happens to you quit the game from the XMB menu, restart the game and then restart the entire mission again as this is your only option to progress through the game. If you're like me and you don't want to start the mission again after this happening you then I'd suggest quitting back to the main menu once you've reached the rooftop after meeting the VIPs and back up your saves from there. Then if this bug happens to you just copy the save back to your PS3 to overwrite the existing one to resume to where you've backed it up.
  • At the beginning of the Tashgar mission you drive up to the shed after discovering Russian forces. You (Recker), Hannah & Irish are suppose to exit the vehicle once you pull up to the shed to go hide once arriving at the destroyed village area but instead they just stay there in the vehicle for 20 seconds until you all hop out unexpectedly. Hannah & Irish are just standing there doing nothing (NPC idle) and you're free to move around where you're not suppose to be. There's a rather amusing visual bug in between them which consists of a bunch of soldier legs that run when your moving, facing you and appear to be in front of them no matter what direction your viewing it from. If this happens my suggestion are either to restart checkpoint, restart mission, exit to main menu and resume the mission, exit to main menu and restart the mission, quit the game and go back to it then resume the mission or quit the game and go back it it then restart the mission. If none of the following work then I'm afraid that's all I've got to help you have the game correct itself and progress.
• Multiplayer
  • Most of the time every match will take a couple of minutes to load everything. Allies & enemies soldiers will become invisible (floating guns giving others an unfair advantage due to the game's crap loading assets), the maps will lack detailed textures & even all noises will go away (guns firing, grenade blasts, vehicles & VOIP for example) and randomly come back again.

These are 3 bugs I can guarantee you will experience from the PS3 version of the game. These glitches don't exist on the PS4 version and all I've heard of from friends IRL who've played this version of Battlefield 4 are rare game crashes after leaving multiplayer matches after they've ended.

The worst thing a friend and I came across playing the multiplayer on the ps3 version was a couple hackers that had one shot kills on literally everything, it was super annoying.

You forgot the best part where the game deletes all your single player progress every time you close it, it happened to me like 7 times, never came back

This hasn't happened to me yet (I may happen during my Hard difficulty playthrough who knows?) so I'm not going to mention that as my list was focused on what I'm experiencing. Your reply however reminded me of a bug I forgot to include in my list (this one happened to one of my friends):

• Campaign
  • After completing the Kunlun Mountains mission (chapter 5) the game froze on the loading screen as the game is loading the next chapter (Tashgar). What's funny is that the screen froze just before unlocking the trophy for completing it (Dead By Dawn). The trophy ding sound can be heard but the notification isn't visible because everything else is stuck. Unfortunately the saving animation was visible on the top-right of the screen and their only option was to turn off the console, which will result in corrupting the save file. Luckily they had a backup mid-Singapore mission (chapter 4) so they didn't have to completely restart the game.

I'm trying to get the platinum for this game and I don't think I've ever had this much trouble with unstability from any game I've played in a long time. Spent the past couple of days completing the campaign on hard, I got to what I think is the 5th mission and was meant to board a cable car, which requires the AI to open the doors, but after pondering for about 20 mins, it just wouldn't budge so I had to restart a difficult section to get it too work, which was annoying as hell. 

 

The big ones for me though is that I've lost my data for the campaign...thankfully I have the trophy for completing the story on hard but it's still really frustrating knowing I have to play all of it again (possibly in one go) just to complete all the unfinished assignments (I actually DID finish them all, but it wouldn't register...) and collectables. I honestly can't wait to be done with this game (I don't care about the DLC trophies)
