Last week developer Omega Force launched a teaser site for its latest project, counting down the days with a series of cryptic messages. Well today, the studio – best known for creating the popular Warriors franchise – has unveiled its newest collaboration, a console game based on the much beloved anime/manga, Attack On Titan. Having only shared the teaser video above, there isn’t a whole lot to go on in terms of how the game will play out. According to Omega Force this won’t be like their previous Warriors games and spin-offs which have included popular licenses such as One Piece, The Legend of Zelda, and Mobile Suit Gundam. Players will no doubt be strapping themselves into the elaborate rigs worn by Attack On Titan’s heroic Scouting Legion. Fighting to save what’s left of humanity against a horde of man-eating giants, battles will likely be focused on one or few enemy targets at a time instead of dispatching of entire armies as we’re so used to doing in Dynasty Warriors. Attack On Titan is due to launch in Japan this Winter and will come overseas at some point in 2016. At present, the game has only been announced for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and of course, the PlayStation Vita. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more at this year’s TGS. source I'm personally looking forward to this but who knows where it'll go? It's made by a company I love because of the Musou games. I'll be updating the OT when more news comes out. What are your guy's thoughts? Update: The Omega Force developed Attack on Titan game for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita really looks a lot like the anime in the latest batch of screenshots. Now we already know that from the teaser trailer (shown below) that the game would use a more visually stylized approached but it seems that Omega Force are doing their best to capture the anime’s aesthetic. What’s more the game is sounding quite interesting, as both the producer Hisashi Koinuma and director Tomoyuki Kitamurawere recently interviewed about the game. The biggest shift for the team has been from having one player take on multiple enemies, like in the Dynasty Warriors series, to having multiple players take on one enemy. In addition, and this is key, they’ve also been focusing on the 3D Maneuvering Gear functionality. As Kitamura says, “The part that we ought to focus more on is about ‘how to make it feel good while flying around using the 3D Maneuver Gear?’ and we’ve redone this system numerous times.” The other interesting point is that more experienced gamers will get to use their skills more decisively, as Kitamura explains, “Players that are used to playing games, will get a feeling like they’re Captain Levi right from the start. There are high risks if you try to immediately go for the back of a Titan’s neck, so it’ll be an effective tactic to start out by destroying its limbs. Although, I don’t think it’d be impossible to have those who are used to action games be able to take them out in one blow.” All of this is sounding fantastic from my standpoint, from the iteration of the core mechanics to the skill-based approach to downing a Titan. As someone that has enjoyed the manga and anime a great deal, I definitely like what I am hearing. The 3D Maneuver Gear point is interesting though. The way they work in the narrative is very awkward and pretty lethal for those that use them improperly. As you effectively fire a steam-powered grappling hook directly in front of you and it then pulls you along. Chaining subsequent shots then helps to build up momentum as well as get higher up to deal with a Titan. Considering that this is one of the coolest aspects of the series, I am really happy that this new game sounds like it is on the right track to do the feature justice. Nice, I hope this will be a lot better than the other AoT game. Can't wait to see some actual gameplay. Now I'm only missing a Akame ga Kill and Fairy Tail game That last AoT game was ehhh.. I would love to see an Akame ga Kill or Fairy Tail game for sure. Putting my faith into Omega Force. I still look for Fist of the North Star at any gamestop I go to. I haven't found any yet... Once I get a PS4 I'll be buying DW8 Empires. And Samurai Warriors (any game I can get my hands on) Definitely want to play Dragon Quest Heroes. Should the AoT game resemble a hack n slash at all...I'll probably try it out lol. I've got the plats for DW6E, DW7, DW7XL, DW8, and DW8XL. Enjoyed playing all of them. One day I'm going to end up getting DW7 Empires but for america it's download only and it's still basically new game price last I checked... I want to buy Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 again and somehow manage those 3 stupid online trophies. Gundam 3 still eludes me. EDIT: I forgot about Warriors: Legends of Troy. That game was tougher than the other games they released in terms of gameplay. Not nearly as much grinding but noticeably more difficult imo.
