Never ending loading

I played this game a year ago and it was glitchy, but functional. Picked it up recently and when I chose the last chapter it loads forever. The ps4 button still functions so the console isn't frozen, the screen still moves, but does nothing but load. I erased the save and game data and tried again and same problem persisted. It gets beyond the menu screens but once the game begins it won't finish loading. I even bought a new disk in case that was the problem, loading continued. Any fixes or similar experiences?
