Favorite Game of All Time That Never Got a Sequel

Great topic.  I can't remember if I ever replied to this in the past, but here goes anyway:

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Until Dawn

Bloodborne (I think everyone who has played and loved Bloodborne wants that.)

Those are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.  If I think of any others, I'll add.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.  It was a third person action RPG that was an alternative to Skyrim at the time.  A really nice, solid RPG.

A few years ago I left a comment saying it's Prince of Persia 2008

It still is

Agreed.  I really enjoyed that game.  A direct sequel would have been nice.

EDIT: Having just completed Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition making it the second time I've played the game (I played the original PS3 version some years ago), I would love to see a sequel!  That would be awesome!  But with a platinum of course.

Ah! Odyssey to the West as well! I adore that game, it's so underrated :D and the soundtrack? It deserves a French kiss!

Likewise, I haven't the foggiest if I ever replied to this thread, kudos to the necromancer who resurrected it. ?

I don't remember many games from my childhood that I dreamt of a sequel for as most got sequels. More recently however, there have been a few.

Alpha Protocol

The Order: 1886

Alien Isolation - a true sequel, not some dumb mobile game

Assassin's Creed 3 - I really hoped that we would have seen Desmond in action during the modern day to take down the Templars/ Abstergo

Killzone - I'll take a reboot of this series

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Where's my sequel Warhorse!?

Resistance - Reboot this series too!

Metal Gear Solid - Reboot or sequel or both lol

Syphon Filter - Reboot/ full fledged remasters

Titanfall 3 is sorely needed, but please no time trial gauntlet again

All I can think of - oh wait Bully! That needed a sequel back in the day for sure! Sadly, Rockstar just re-releases GTA5 and GTAO nowadays.

Okay now that's all I can think of right now.

WWF No Mercy. There was a sequel slated and it had ONE preview shown off in a Magazine back in the day calling it WWF Backlash. But it was canceled due to Nintendo deciding to move on from the N64. No Mercy still being one of the greatest wrestling games of all time, it's crazy to think what could have been with even more improvements to the amazing AKI Engine. I'm holding out hope that AEW: Fight Forever is the spiritual successor we've been waiting for.

Dungeon Keeper 2

Probably my favourite strategy game, and a staple of my teenage years. Have been craving a modern update/sequel to this game for a long time. And no, the shitty mobile game from a few years ago doesn’t count. A proper PC/console sequel please!

if I have to pick just one, the original WATCH_DOGS

I know, I know, the game got two sequels, 2 and Legion, but those are NOT a continuation of Aiden Pierce's story, the main character of the first game, and they are completely different in tone, almost different games, I want a true sequel to WD with Aiden in the same dark, serious tone

other worthy mentions:

Catherine PS3

Lollipop Chainsaw PS3

Bloodborne PS4

Mad Max PS4

The Order 1886 PS4

Until Dawn PS4

Bully
L.A. Noire
GreedFall (Though game is still semi-recent, so still a chance)
Kingdoms of Amalur
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Valthirian Arc
Code Vein
Moonlighter
Blood & Truth
Papers, Please
Thief

& there are so many more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

The Bloodlines DLC for Legion is all about Aiden and is kind of a sequel of sorts...and is better than the main game.

GreedFall 2: The Dying World was announced not too long ago, but they said not to expect it until about 2024. :)

Well, here are some games that I think are absolutely awesome and a sequel or a remake is long overdue! I did not read through the whole thread so I apologize if some of those games have been mentioned before.

- Outlaws (PC): a great western shooter by Lucasarts!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlaws_(1997_video_game)

- The Movies (PC): a movie studio tycoon game by Lionhead Studios. We need more tycoon games anyway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Movies

- Eternal Darkness (Gamecube): great horror game by Silicon Knights. But this is never going to happen.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_Darkness

- Body Harvest (N64): open-world shooter game by DMA Design, this led to the first 3D GTA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_Harvest

- Duck Hunt (NES): light-gun shooter by Nintendo
