I've been playing video games for 30 years and 5 Star Wrestling is one of the absolute worst games I've ever played.I can overlook the fact that there are only 8 wrestlers to choose from. I can overlook that only one match type is unlocked at the beginning of the game. Hell... I can overlook that the characters in the game are just lazy rip-offs of real wrestlers under the guise of them being parodies. But everything else about the game? No excuse. Awful animation. Unresponsive controls. Glitch after glitch after glitch. Wrestlers regularly sink through and slide around the mat. They pass through the ropes and step out of the ring. They even float into the air during submission holds. I lost count of how many times HarVee Dee's strike combo ended with him flying into the air and missing the spinning kick by 10 feet.It blows my mind that Serious Parody looked at this game and were confident enough to call it a finished product. It's even more baffling that they think $24.99 is a fair price. I got it on sale for $10 and even that felt like entirely too much."But... TmF, if you hated the game so much, why did you keep playing it?"Good question. Glad you asked. Two reasons. One: I paid $10 for it and I was at least getting a goddamn platinum trophy out of it. Two: I'm of the belief that you can't TRULY talk shit about a game unless you've experienced everything it has to offer. I did. I used every character, played every match type and played a minimum of 128 matches thanks to Challenge Mode. I can, without hesitation, say that this abomination of a game is not worth your time or your money.In closing... Unless Serious Parody decide in the future to sell this game for $5 or less... Please... DO NOT BUY IT. They don't deserve your business. Give me your money instead and I'll slap you in the face. TmF1979 Posted August 14, 2015 Author Share Posted August 14, 2015 How long did it take to plat? Was there multiplayer and if so how was it? Did you have any issues/glitches with any of the trophies? Probably... 20 hours. Playing through Challenge Mode will earn you the bulk of the trophies and there's minimal cleanup after that. There are 16 Tiers and you can clear a Tier in about an hour depending on how many glitches you're slammed with. There's local multiplayer, but it's no better than single player. This Is Awesome! glitched for me, but in a good way. You're supposed to receive a 5 Star Rating in an Exhibition Match with 2 human players. Bullstomp Posted June 14, 2017 Share Posted June 14, 2017 Finally started playing this because I wanted to get a new wrasslin' platinum and WWE 2K16 glitched in a bad way (fuck you 2K!). Anyhow, yes this is borderline copyright infringement despite the legal disclosure and the collision sucks. However, I am having a blast with it! I like the wrestlers who they modelled off of (bonus points for Dynamite Pegasus, who is the bastard son of Dynamite Kid and Chris Benoit [who used to be Pegasus Kid in Japan]) If you are a big wrestling fan, like I am, I would recommend trying it. The moves are cool (and unintentionally comical when they glitch) and though I have yet to finish, every single trophy has popped when it should which is a hell of a lot better than WWE 2K16 (FUCK YOU 2K!)
