Popular Post DropeRj
I've just finished the "No point in Dying" and the attempt before this one (Third try for the trophy) I've died the Sixth time in the last jump, but I'm going to try to leave the tips for people to remember whats going to happen next (because videos take toooooo long to watch) Just focus on what you're doing and you should only be worried by the main puzzles/jumps (I'm not going to remember all the jumps and puzzles) - Until the first spider fight there is pretty much anything that can actually hurt you. The puzzles are simple. (Don't forget that the after you kill the second leg, it will attack you instantly with the third) - After the spider fight you'll be in the spider net jumps. I've accidentally died there once because of not paying attention to a simple slide jump (And not the big boulder jump), - At the big boulder, just try to understand how the jump works and the button presses to actually jump and you'll be safe (Yes, it happened a lot to me to press front+jump and not recognizing the jump press). - After that at the area with the chopped trees jumps: Remember that the last tree jump needs to be timed with the boulder trap that only triggers after you landed on the last tree. - After that you'll get to an area with the fire tires (You need to back track to avoid the big tire) - Don't forget about the traps that the humans/things placed, don't just go forward all the time and do the back and forth movement and you should avoid them all. - When the spider pursuits you, watch out to time your jump properly on the big log that the spider holds for you, it's an annoying jump. (Don't remember the exact sequence of the game right now) - You should be on the water/rain area with the brain eater things. - Time your jump properly on the lake with the dead people. I've died once and every time I almost die. - After that you should get to the area with the stomping machines - The first one you need to avoid touching the button - The second you need to jump on the button (The floor near it will activate it). (It's really easy to forget the order of the machines) - You will need to backtrack a little so the machines kill the humans pursuing you - When you create the rain you should get to the flooded areas. (The puzzles shouldn't be a problem, but I've died in the Balloon because I didn't close the hatch properly) - After the water filling area, pay attention to the BRAIN EATER THAT IS SWINGING near the crate, time your crate pulling so the Brain Eater doesn't stick to you after you adjust the crate. It really sucks to get here with no deaths and forget about this. - Don't forget that while you're waiting on the stairs, that the brain eater is still in you (Waiting for the pipe to come up)... it can be easily forgotten (Yes, I've done more mistakes here) ' - You should be at the Hotel Sign now. The first big problem! - To time your jump properly try to "train" with an easy readable thing. Backtrack the jump a little so you can still see the "H" turning "On", after it turns on, start running and since you're a little far from the ledge, when you jump, the H will turn "OFF" and making it "easy" to do it. The spot is near a small little thing on the floor that is coming out. I don't have any photos to explain, but is you need some space to run and then jump so you can time it properly with the turning "on" sign. Try to train this before begginning the run if you didn't get it. - After braking the glass and not forgetting to jump the slide, and not letting the hose go (don't forget that after the hose stops going down you'll fall automatically), don't go to the right before clearing the left side of the hose, because there is a Brain eater (On the right) and if you forget to clean the left side you die. - After going all the way down you should be in another tight spot with the brain eater attached, the first Saw/crate jump. - Just press the button, wait for the crate to drop and time your jump, it's really a complicated timing there but if you just slows down your walking it should do it. - The backtracking saw jump is also pretty annoying to time properly. Just do a run/jump while the saw is near the end but still going to the right so it shouldn't kill you when you jump. - After that there should be some other puzzles and the other annoying Saw/crates jump, but now the timing must be precise and the jump needs to be precise too, because that second crate ALWAYS falls down killing me in the Saw. (Remember that if you run and press jump you can "run" faster than just running) - Still on the double crate/saw puzzle, Press the Left button first, wait a moment and press the right button, and go back to the left of first crate before it goes down, because if you need to jump on it, you're pretty much dead (because the timing must be somewhat precise). - Then you should be at the electric part of the game. - The first puzzle with the ladder, don't forget to go to the right before and leaving the mine cart right under the switch. - After the mine cart and saw jump sequence, the best way to avoid the electric floor/mine cart switch is to push the cart instead of pulling, because after you push it and jump, it should still have some momentum to the left leaving you with some more time to avoid the floor. - Now is the Cogs/gravity section - I Don't remember anything critical in the beginning of this section, but the timing of the jumps and the brain eater section with the backtracking cog jump (It could be really annoying to die here). - The is a point in the cogs section with the crate, the swinging light, and the electric floor, and I really don't know the best way to do it, but you can die really easy here if you don't time the crate dropping and you dropping down - After the cogs you should get to the gravity section, - In the gravity section you should have trouble in the last stretch, were you need to time your jumps and button presses correctly. - Don't have many tips in the H sign besides to try to jump a while after the H turns "on" - Try to practice this stretch before beginning the run. - After the slide with the gravity button that breaks after pressing it, if you try to do it in one go without stopping, you should be in a good pace, but the last jump should be timed properly. - The trophy must pop after the glass breaks. Good luck, hope it helped a little.
acasto
Thanks! This trophy is a pain. Maybe I'll attempt it again in the future with these tips on hand.
CuteBoringLove
My tip would be to just keep playing and eventually you'll have it down. The only really hard part is the last few sections which rely heavily on sound, so turn down the music, have headphones and make sure the room is silent so you know when to jump. Nutrageous69
Yeah I've tried this a few times so far. The trophy wouldn't be so bad except that a run takes a minimum of something like 45 minutes. Having to do the whole thing in one run rather than one save really makes it a pain since you have to have a dedicated time slot available to complete it in. I know they do this so you can't just pause the game at a death and reload your save. I'll get this one eventually, but I'm not terribly fond of game developers making almost all trophies non story related. I hate that if you complete the game all the way through you only get one trophy out of it. The rest are all hidden items. Good luck to all trying for this, I would imagine it will take most awhile. delboy_rules
Only tip i would give is if you have died before the hotel bit, then restart. i had the advantage of playing clean run on PS4 whilst practicing via chapter select on the PS3, might be an option for some people. Once i had done the PS4 run, the PS3 clean run was a breeze.
FluffyAssassin64
Fortunately for me, I was able to do it first 'proper' attempt. By this I mean that I had practiced the 'hard' bits previously, and played through the game for fun + collectibles already. I died a total of 5 times (some at stupid bits, haha): Where the 3 guys chase you over the pit + two buttons with squishy things. I hesitated on the big button and got squished Going up into the sewer, didn't jump up and fell in the water (didn't even know you could die here...) Cogwheel after getting the brain-sucker after seeing the girl (didn't time jump, fell in the hole, didn't know you could die here either...) With 2 blocks and the saw (where you have to press the buttons, push one underneath the other, then jump up). I just got too excited here Swinging over the electricity on the chain (mis-timed and second-guessed myself). I also have a few quick tips: Definitely replay the specific parts you find difficult; I found it good to just play through the game again (when going for collectibles) so you are aware of all the little things (like when to jump backwards to avoid the fire tire, for example) Take it slow and steady; in most cases, it's not a rush. Take your time before attempting the big jumps, and count yourself in. For things like the HOTEL sign, it's great to practice heaps of times and time yourself so you know exactly when to jump; takes a lot of the stress away! Stay calm: like other 'no / few deaths' trophies, the key point is to not work yourself up so much that you make a mistake. Either be chatting with friends while doing it, listen to music, or just take deep breaths. Turn up the volume; might seem to be a bit contradictory to the above, but hear me out. For a lot of the puzzles (particularly the last few), knowing exactly what is happening through sound is extremely helpful. Don't neglect this! It makes the game more atmospheric and fun anyway OP has some good tips for specific sections as well, check that out for anything else
LxJingoizm
Great tips - will try and complete this soon. Like most people, only one I need. Great game though!
Wagszilla
Hotel Sign - Run and jump onto H without stopping and you’ll make it. Big jump to other side of H, jump to O, slide down side of O slowly First Sawblade - Press button, hold left (back) and wait till box drops, jump onto box when a foot away, wait a beat while holding back/left, and jump over sawblade. If you don't jump onto the box and push it instead, you'll push it right into the blade. Second Sawblade - I use left button first, wait 2 seconds, hit the right button (hit 1st button, stop, and think *beat* *beat*, run on 2nd button) run left to collect 1st box, pull box under 2nd claw, drop 2nd box, climb on, slowly turn around, and jump. Sawblade Jump on Moving Box - Leave 1/3 of the box in front of you so you can run towards the Sawblade and jump over it before the tip of the box reaches the blade. Minecart Area - The jump over the Sawblade is just timing and projecting where it is in your head. But for the electrified area make sure there’s like a 4 Limbo Guy gap, push it one Limbo Guy more, climb up and jump and just barely make it to the ledge. If you get to the ledge easily, you should quickly slide off and try again because you won’t make it. As you run right, keep an eye on the button on the left so you know when to jump. Hotel Area Side Run - I hate this part. Lost two lives. Inch close to the edge and only jump after the sign turns on. Hit switch, jump to neutral center. I always slide off the top on my 1st attempt. Every time I got that far I lost minimum of one life. Gravity Area Turret - I hate this part. Jump towards the switch at 75-80% of the pulsating beat sequence, hit switch, and run near the machinery stomp thing. Final Jump - If you’re about halfway between the top section, like 6-7 Limbo guys from the edge once you hit the ceiling just run right and jump off and chances are you’ll get it. I got the trophy on 5/5 deaths after 4-5 ruined runs. Best of luck. Edited April 5, 2023 by Wagszilla
