Movies you loved that everyone else hated

Hmm, Batman Forever comes to mind. Mostly like it because of Jim Carrey and I was a kid when it was released so the childhood memories add to it.

I also like Spider-Man 3 and X Men: Origins Wolverine.

Spider-Man 3. People always criticise the jazz scene and the scene when he dances on the street but I absolutely loved it. One of my favourite comic-book movies ever actually.

People hated it, but it was exactly on point as far as the story is concerned. The Simbiote made PP agressive and confident. PP wanted to act "cool" - but his only experience of cool was the cool kids at school who bullied him. The Simbiote had no frame of reference for "cool" to contradict this, so PP became a bully and an asshat. Makes perfect sense really, although it does make uncomfortable viewing.

That movie's main problems were too many villains with too little screen-time each. Compared with S-M 1 and 2, where lots of time was spent on characterising the villains and their motivations, these three seemed weak in comparison and the team-up at the end was non-sensical.

My Movie:

Spring Breakers.

Everyone loves to bash Superman Returns, but I seem to be in the minority of people who actually enjoyed it.  Heck, i even went to see it THREE times at the cinema! :P

It's not perfect, but neither were the Reeve movies.  I thought Brandon Routh did a decent job of playing Superman.  He did the best he could with what he was given to work with.

Gone in 60 Seconds. The Nicholas Cage version.

It's car porn basically, but really good car porn. It is cheesy, but so are the F&F movies, which have become ridiculously implausible both in terms of story and on screen action.

I'm a sucker for the car chase movies. Smokey & The Bandit would also be up there.

Bullitt takes the top spot for me.

*Gulp*

Howard the Duck

Childhood nostalgia. Check.

Naked duck boobs. Check & check.

I don't think I need to further justify my choice.

The first time I saw Howard the Duck, I was in college. It's such a fun, ridiculous movie. I thought it was epic.

Also, the comedic genius that is The Room.

Terminator Salvation.

Fantastic Four, the older movies though, not seen the new one yet but I'll probably enjoy that too.

Spider-Man 3. My only problem was throwing Venom in for a few minutes at the end, stupid  And by that I mean he wasn't in the movie enough.

Man of Steel.

Probably more but that's all I can think of for now  :hmm:

Hitman, and not just because I'm a fanboy of the games. Aside from the stupid swordfighting in the subway I liked the story and acting.

I also loved Bloodrayne and In the Name of the King, but mostly because they were so god-awful that they were entertaining.

I think I tend to like movies nobody I know really likes.

Doom (I never played the games so I can't say anything about that...as a movie I enjoyed it though)

I Am Number Four

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Last Samurai

Life of Pi (this is a very strange movie for me to like but for some reason...I really enjoyed it.)

Never Back Down

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Sorcerer's Apprentice

Sucker Punch

Tron Legacy

Up In The Air
