Devil May Cry 5

Trophy: Clear Bloody Palace mode as Vergil

 

Finally I managed to get round to finishing the Vergil DLC for Devil May Cry 5. This was by far the most difficult trophy within the DLC but if you use a super costume and you suspend and back-up your save it's way easier than clearing it normally. Happy to have this trophy out of the way which means I now have 91% of the trophies in Devil May Cry 5.

Gold Rush - Earn 70 Gold Medals in Story missions.

 

Now, I'm usually pretty fond of secondary objectives and all that... but RDR2 went about it in the worst way, forcing in objectives that ruin your entire medal run should you have to reload a checkpoint for whatever reason in a majority of missions. And that's not to mention how unintuitive and opaque most of the 'jectives are.

 

Big part of my initial disenchantment with the game on release... but with some patience and a little bit o' luck it's a lot more doable now they made it so you aren't limited to default stats and equipment. Truth be told, I'm not sure I could have ever done it without the patch... I did get a gold on the first try on the final story mission without a guide though, so there's that! Not at all my idea of a great time, but now, precious little stands in the way of my getting my own gleamin' platinum redemption as it applies to this game which I now love!

I was tedious playing through this game 3 times, but I gotta say it in many ways got easier with each playthrough. It was a tad more annoying because I felt the need to constantly stop and back up my saves, and there's a great irony that I was more worried about the regular enemies than I was the bosses.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Platinum Trophy -  Crossing Fate

It was easier compared to the other fighting games I am playing on and off but it was still a joy to play. It is a very fun and polished fighting game that anyone interested should give a try. The crossover aspect was what hooked me with characters from RWBY and the Persona series that I recognise from the media I have enjoyed, making me more motivated to platinum it. It also made me interested in the Under Night franchise and it may be a game series I attempt to platinum in the future. 

 

Also, god bless Blitztank for not just being the weirdest character I have seen in a fighting game, making it one of the greatest characters in this game but also for having easier combo challenges compared to the other characters, helping me with the last trophy I needed.

Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

Platinum Trophy

 

After playing through the majority of Persona 4 Arena and Blazblue Central Fiction this game was a natural fit because it has characters from both franchises. As far as the difficulty is concerned it was easier than Tekken 7, I guess I suck at 3D Fighters. The hardest trophies in the game are completing all of 1 characters combo challenges which was relatively straight-forward compared to Blazblue Central Fiction, I used Ragna for my trophy. For the 10,000 damage in a single combo I used Yukiko, if you press down down and Triangle 5 times you will gain fire if you like. Once you have 9 fire, you need to activate Resonance fate and perform QCF + Triangle and Circle together which will deal 10K damage.

 

The final trophy that was difficult to achieve was earning a Marvellous 10 times in Crush Assault because the timing is quite strict but I managed to get it in the end with my boosting partner in a private lobby. I was surprised how good the game is but I prefer Central Fiction, however if your new to fighting games and wish to play something easier to get you into the genre, I highly recommend BB Cross Tag Battle! I didn't expect this game to have crystal bosses, what is this, Crash Bandicoot? Happy to have this game completed!

It took me a long time to actually get this one. It's not as easy as you may think.

 

Getting the other one... is way too tedious for me. It's also why I won't be getting the Platinum for this game either. Because I don't like doing post-game dungeons that have a tendency to be too hard and mastering all mirage boards is too much of a grind with no fast way to get a lot of levels quickly.

 

I understand the Platinum is listed as a 3/10 in the guide on this forum but I just don't feel like putting in the effort when there's not a fast way to grind and practically requires post-game dungeon. So yeah. No platinum for me for this game. Would I like it? Sure I would. It's just too tedious and too grindy for me. Well that and like I just said several times I don't like doing post-game dungeons that tend to be way to hard.

For a while I didn't think I was ever going to be able to pull this one off. It's not just challenging but the sheer luck involved is ridiculous. Until you get the Bend Time power about halfway through you're basically starting every round hoping that rival enemies don't randomly spawn on the other side of the map and kill each other before you even know they're there. I scoured the internet for every tip, hint, and strategy I could find and while they helped I did end up having some luck on my side for the successful run. But that finally finishes off Dishonored leaving only 1 game left in my profile for 100% completion.
