Guitar Hero Van Halen

Trophy: 5150 (Gold)

 

This trophy requires you to complete EVERY Van Halen song with EVERY instrument (Guitar, Bass, Drums and Vocals). Needless to say my neighbours had to put up with some unpleasant noises for a few days but it has to be done! Happy to have this trophy out of the way because I generally don't earn anything higher than a Bronze on most days I play so this trophy is most welcome in my collection. I can see why the rarity is under 3% because I guess most players don't have all the instruments which would probably be quite expensive or hard to find.

Unlocking unlimited continues by beating Overkill Mode made both Arcade modes so much easier. Getting some of the other miscellaneous made me realize how much better I already am than when I started. I can beat the first few levels without dying so that's nice, but I'm nowhere good enough to tackle higher difficulties even with the pause strategy.
It only gets harder from here.

These were very easy overall. The only ones that gave me a little trouble were Melee #3 and Climax #5. For the former, I ended up using pylons to whack the enemies and did as many Heat moves as possible, whereas for the latter, the  combo made the boss fights a lot easier. I only used Tiger Drop once on a certain boss, and that was only because he was really asking for it. I thought Melee #6 would be a hassle given what I've read about it, but I managed to get it done on my first try.

 

Just the Extra Hard playthrough left for the platinum now!

For whatever reason, I couldn't get the TFE/TSE finish trophies to show up until I got the BFE (Serious Sam 3) one. So you might want to start with SS3 then play the others. At this time don't worry about Circle of Death or Are You Serious until they patch it. Those two trophies are bugged, explaining why SSC has zero platinum achievers.

Trophy: Platinum

 

Finally I managed to free some time up to finish Very Hard difficulty which was in my opinion significantly harder than Hard mode. This is my 9th platinum trophy on my account and my 4th Ultra Rare platinum according to PSNProfiles. I honestly think this game could have become a cult classic if it was more polished and had less janky platforming. The way I think of Wet is it's a poor mans Vanquish, it's not a bad game though. 

 

Unlike the trophy guide I started on normal difficulty to familiarise myself with the game, so I ended up spending more time completing it. I'm proud of completing WET because in my opinion the platinum is not a 6/10. I genuinely believe it's more difficult than that due to having to complete both Hard and Ultra Hard, clearing all boneyard challenges with a Gold which almost a third of them I tied the Gold time on. 

 

Has anybody got any suggestions for my 10th platinum? I was thinking of playing Final Fantasy X which is on my backlog.

Slowly working my way through this game! This zone was total crap to do though oh my gosh. Getting all the socks and spatulas too ughhhh. I'm really glad it's over! The game started out fun but it's starting to become a liiitle more tedious as I go

I would skip ffx for the plat only because of the sphere grid because filling it completely is a CHORE, even though the rest of the list is really fun  maybe go with Nioh, for the 10th, the list isn't difficult but it isn't easy as well and the game is WICKED!!

Obviously no plat shot, but here's one of my last trophies with one of my favorite characters...

 

It took a couple months, I didn't get a plat out of it, but damn is this an enjoyable game... & it's even free! I really wasn't expecting this much quality for a F2P game, but just from the 2 main arcs that are currently out (assuming there's going to be at least 7?), it was good enough to qualify it as a normal paid game. I'm really looking forward to the additional stories that'll get added to it eventually (& hopefully more trophies), I'll most likely keep playing it for a while just to prep for them.

 

Now since this is a F2P gacha game, there are premium currency you can buy (that's way overpriced imo), however it can be played easily without touching them, & you can still make plenty of wishes (gacha summons) with the F2P Primogems you come across in the game. Granted I did cave & get the $5 monthly moon thing once, since that's probably the only good deal available in the shop. ?

 

The small amount of trophies the game has are all fairly easy, just lengthy (even a 4/10 is pushing it a bit). You have to collect 1200 chests in the game, but that's easy once you get the treasure compass gadgets, the ones that'll take the longest time to complete are the 2 above, you need to be rank 50 to get to phase 6, this'll most likely take at least a couple months of daily gameplay. Honestly if I had to pick the hardest trophy, I'd say it's the one for shooting down a damn eagle with a bow, I suck at bow aiming, & I had to shoot down 3-4 of the damn things before the trophy finally popped for me. ?

 

I definitely recommend checking this out though if you're looking for something to kill some time with... & it can definitely kill some time if you get hooked on it.
