Ragnarok Odyssey Ace was my latest PS3 purchase and I decided to go ahead and start it instead of sticking it in the backlog pile for later since it has a few online trophies.

I'm really enjoying the game so far. It's simple to play, it's colorful, the music is good, and it's overall just a lot of fun. You can definitely tell this was originally a Vita game with graphics closer in look to a high res PS2 game, but I feel like that adds to the charm. For a bit I felt like I was a kid again playing on my PS2 at my parents' house.

 

The trophy list also seems pretty simple. Clear all quests, spend X amount of money at all the shops, clear X amount of floors in the post game dungeon, collect all of X, etc

 

I'm going to be putting a ton of hours into this one.

I have to say this; it's going fantastic and everything else are setting in place. Destroying Extra Hard Mode wasn't easy, dealing with asshole enemies pissed me off and here I am now pummeling them down and squashing them like pancakes. I was at level 60+ and defeated Toki at his full strength and mastered all his new techniques perfectly. I'll explain it right here. I have mastered ALL Hokuto Shinken secret techniques and this is a one big step to my true UR and Milestone power.

Trophy: Arcade Master (Silver)

 

Finally managed to get back round to playing some Dead or Alive 5, it's been a while! This trophy is actually a pain in the arse even with the Lei-Fang exploit. More specifically the Tag matches because you have to defeat BOTH opponents per round or match. Happy to have this trophy out of the way, hopefully in the next day or two I can add the time-attack master to my collection, but we'll see how I do.

Dead or Alive 5

Trophy: Exercise Newbie (2.33% Ultra Rare)

 

Without question this is one of the hardest bronze trophies I have earned on my account. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the requirements allow me to enlighten you. You need to complete essentially combo challenges or training with ALL 24 characters. Please bare in mind the vast majority of these characters have well over 100 trials each! The most belongs to Brad Wong who has 188. Naturally there are characters that are easier/harder to complete, in my experience the hardest characters to complete are Akira, Sarah and Ryu Hayabusa.

 

Akira: The hardest challenge for Akira requires you to perform a just-frame H+K (Teishitsu Dantai), which means you have 1/60th of a second to perform the move correctly. I remapped my buttons so I replaced Punch with X and I replaced H with Circle. This is in my opinion one of the hardest trials in the game!  

 

Sarah: The hardest Sarah trial in my opinion was called Forward Combo Somersault Kick what they don't tell you is you need to run then press P+K then press PPK. Her other trial which was annoying as hell was called Neck Hold Crush. For this one you need to Run then press P+K then quickly press Down+K into a Standing K finally ending with X for the grab. The window you have to land the grab must be a 1-frame link it's extremely strict.

 

Ryu Hayabusa: The hardest Ryu Hayabusa trial in my opinion is called Senko Izuna which is essentially a counter into an Izuna drop. All of his counter Izuna drops are hard and annoying but this is definitely the hardest one.

 

Ryu was the last character I needed to complete. According to PSNProfiles this trophy isn't rare enough to be in my top 5 but man this was a pain in the arse and all of that effort for a Bronze trophy! If that isn't considered one of the hardest Bronze trophies to earn on the PS3 then I would like a list ^^. Very happy to have this trophy out of the way. Best of luck to anyone who attempts this whether you play on a Controller like me or a Stick.

This one was valiantly fought. 49 battles spread across the Puzzle League, Skill Battle League and Puyo Puyo League and only my most recent one was my tenth win.

 

That's because not a lot people play this on PS4 and most who do are incredibly skilled Puyo Puyo or Tetris players. It was luck if I found someone who was below, or even at my skill level. Pulled it off, though. I'll need to get someone to boost Prize Fighter with me, but after that, I won't have to worry about this game's online trophies anymore.

Yeah... sorry everyone... but with this... I'm officially done with this game. I'm honestly surprised that 4 silver trophies got me up two full grades and now I have an A. But I'll take it. The rest of the trophies are too grind heavy and everything else probably requires specific familiars/monsters and I don't have the patience or will to try to find them, try to get them, and then try to grind them all up to decent levels. I really don't.

 

I don't get how the Platinum for this game is a 4/10. I feel as if it's significantly harder than that. But whatever I guess. I am satisfied with what I accomplished in this game though. So it's fine I guess. Pretty fun game for the most part overall and relatively easy as well (not a bad thing I like easy games lol). It's pretty much a Studio Ghibli movie in video game form. Which is perfectly fine.

 

Next up for me is the sequel. Ni No Kuni II Revenant Kingdom. Which is apparently MASSIVELY different from this game considering what I saw from gameplay videos. But apparently it's just as easy. Supposedly even easier!! I'm not sure how... but I guess I'll find out? Also I doubt I'll Platinum that game either. Hopefully I won't have to go into post game again but we'll see I guess.

After doing the Arcade master trophy only a few days ago it made this trophy much easier to get. I'm happy to get another trophy off the unearned list. My next goal is to get all of the costumes but I'll need to find a guide as we don't have one here on PSNProfiles. It will take a while to get all the costumes so my goal is to get that trophy by the end of February. This trophy puts Dead or Alive 5 to 88% which is pretty respectable but the goal is to push forward!

A World Worth Saving

 

Finally beat the dumpster fire that is the doomsday heist(s). Maybe I was unlucky with inexperienced teams, on top of me not being great, but jesus. Every mission took about 95 tries. Missions weren't even fun when they went smoothly. The other heists were fun enough, even the Cayo one was with the tedious exploration, but damn this one just didn't hit for me.
