About time I reached the end. Took me longer than I thought, but so I did. Man, I had forgotten how hideous that boss looks like. Not to mention, it still takes some time to defeat, even when you're all powered up and stuff. I suppose it's better than the one in the first game, which can be defeated in less than 2-3 minutes, though doing it that way makes getting all the endings much faster.

 

So, what can I say about the final ending? Did it disappoint me? Actually, no. Instead, it was kind of confusing to follow, despite that I've been following the story from the first game. Maybe someday I'll analyze more of it, but right now I'm going to focus on other projects. I will read Death end re:Quest 1.5 novel soon, since I haven't done so yet. Maybe that'll give me some answers.

God of War 2 (PS3) - Platinum Trophy

 

 

Here is another game I started but never finished before, this one is from 2018 as it was the first time, I tried a trek through the whole series after playing the third game on PS4 but got busy with other games at the time. Finally, I have finished God of War 2 for the PS3. Overall, it was a very fun old-school experience that I enjoyed throughout the single player campaign. My only grips with the game were that the challenge of the gods had two annoying challenges being 3 and 7, which both took many attempts. Also, the fact that getting 20 cyclops eyes is a bit much for a trophy as you don't encounter them enough in the campaign, only completable through the first challenge. I will definitely play more games in this series in the future.

It's time to get back to this game. Using every character's All-Star move was actually quite fun. While some might have to do them the regular way, I decided to get them in split screen mode. Actually, the only one I couldn't get done was The Bonanza Brothers and I had to do it in Single Race. At least I now have all the trophies that can be done in split screen.

 

I also got the online trophies done. The online has seen its days and I couldn't find any races before I got these, so finding a boosting partner is a must. Luckily, they only take about 30 minutes to get.

 

The platinum is almost at hand. All that's remaining are the last few missions, as well as the Time Trial mode which I'll save for last. Ghost Master is known to be glitchy, so I'm backing up my save once I'll start working on those.

Having only just Platted Yakuza 0, I simply couldn't help myself and jumped right into the next game (both chronologically and going by order of release). Kiwami is very clearly a reskin of its predecessor to the point where it is just a little more noticable than usual, but I'm still having a blast with it. It's thrilling to return to where it all started for the series, with a modern update brining the gameplay on part with that of the numbered entries.

 

Of note is the fact that Kiwami is sadly the final Yakuza game to make use of the excellent classic Trophy tiles that are shaped as actual trophies. From Yakuza 6 on, these were placed with slabs that technically still count as trophies, but seem a lot less creative that the elegantly molded figurines of the older titles.

 

This particular Bronze is unmissable and guaranteed to be the first you unlock, rewarded upon beating up the weak mooks the game throws at you in the tutorial fight. Here's to unlocking the other 54 Yakuza Kiwami has to offer!

I went quiet again for the last 5 1/2 weeks due to my PS4 Pro HDD went defective badly and I had to put my trophy progress, milestones and everything else on halt until I fully upgrade to a Samsung 870 2TB SSD and other upgrades as well. I'll be back to finished off Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Nevertheless, it went off to a decent start of the game and nostalgic classic towns I enjoyed it so far and I still have more work to do.
