As someone who is a wrestling fan and got really into playing Fortnite when the pandemic hit, this should have been right up my street. On paper, it's the ideal game.

In practise - yeah, I wasn't overly impressed with it. It's got some positives (game lengths are usually short, the art style is unique and chokeslamming someone off a skyscraper is awesome) but the negatives outweigh them all. Combat can be finickity at times, xp progression is slow therefore win/matches don't feel rewarding and the load times, whilst better than at launch, can still be taxing. Spending 2 minutes to join a duo game only to be put in a lobby without a partner happened multiple times. Only 3 modes and one of those is a tutorial. They made sure that they had the microtransactions all working for launch though...

It might be a game that gets better and more as times goes on and if that's the case, my tune may change but as it stands, it's something I'm going to really only go back to sparingly.

Alright. I have finally decided to bring the rest of the trophies right here and now. It went slow as hell and I have pretty much scored and ticked off everything I needed and it's all done. Now I can fully focus on Team Sonic Racing. Although it will take a little while until I get a 3rd controller which will be annoying as fucked. Time for me to get to worked on my 950th platinum milestone, 8th Ultra Rare and Trophy 20,000th.

 

Highly recommend for this game.

Not gonna lie, getting those key pieces was pretty rough in some places. I'm very grateful I still have some lingering muscle memory from the first game though, cuz if not it likely would have been a lot worse. For example, the Tule Tree section? I don't wanna say it was easy, but I finished it waaay faster than its counterpart from Guacamelee 1.

 

So just the challenges and the last temple, then I'm done. Now that this chicken shit (heh) is wrapped up, the game's pretty much broken open and I can smell blood in the water. Love that feeling?
