Post (and vent) about your NYMHC deaths here. #1 - Chapter 3: Insta-killed by a guy in the sports store area. I have no idea what I did wrong here. I leaned out of cover, killed one guy, and was immediately shot in the head by another. Bullshit. #2 - Chapter 3: VIP room. Last standed with no ammo left. My fault for worrying too much about time instead of picking up weapons. #3 - Chapter 4: In the alleyway after you use the cars to blow up a dozen guys. Blew up the nearest car, and got shot from someone further back. I couldn't see anyone or anything through the smoke from the explosion. Sigh. #4 - Chapter 3: Insta-killed by the third sniper. No last stand. My fault. In hindsight, I realized I need to hug the left wall here otherwise the sniper gets a bead on your head very quickly. #5 - Chapter 3: Insta-killed by a grenade that was thrown at my feet by Peyton Manning. The grenade indicator gave me about a half second warning. I was just surprised it showed up at all. #6 - Chapter 4: This one was particularly full of bullshit. As soon as Passos opens the gate after the chop shop sequence, I like to get the guy crouching behind cover in the back of the area. Of course this time, Passos decides that WHILE I'M FIRING MY WEAPON that he is going to walk right in front of me. He was dead in one shot. #7 - Chapter 11: Shot by a guy who was behind cover on the topmost deck of the yacht. Last stand was predictably useless. #8 - Chapter 3: Out of ammo on last stand. My fault because I was flustered and impatient. #9 - Chapter 8: I was hit midair during a shootdodge while jumping off the hill to cover Passos. Landed in last stand behind a car. This was the last time I used shootdodge in this particular area. #10 - Chapter 13: In the locker room area after the APC sequence. I had saved the grenade launcher and I like to use one grenade here to take out the three guys in the locker room. Apparently you can corner shoot with every gun except the grenade launcher, because when I tried, the grenade bounced off the wall and killed me instantly. I was just speechless. #11 - Chapter 5: In the area outside right before the docks. This was my best run so far - in an hour of real time I had racked up 12 minutes on my clock. I know this level like the back of my hand. Hopped down, killed the guy in the alcove, blew up the propane tank, and made my way around the corner. All of the sudden I was dead. Seriously, there was no warning. It had to have been a grenade but SHOCKINGLY there was no grenade indicator on screen. 12 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought DS2 Hard Core was ridiculous Yeah, finish the game in one sitting with no saves. Also, you're timed. You start the game with one minute on the timer and you have to kill people to add time. They wouldn't come out and I knew that if I stayed in cover too long I'd die, so I moved. Of course as soon as I did this, they both moved too. In this particular area you are automatically knocked down to half health, and all your painkillers are taken away. Attempt 2- Died in ch. 6, part 1- missed the shot and was run over by the jeep after the cutscene. Attempt 3- Died in ch. 11- killed by the guys in the tower, before the zip-line. Attempt 4- Died in ch. 6, part 2- guys wouldn't come out of cover, left cover to press forward, dead Attempt 5- Died in ch. 7- killed by molotov. Attempt 6- Died in ch. 14- killed in the luggage area, on the second floor. make sure to take the stairs. Attempt 7- Died in ch. 4- shot my useless sidekick... also known as Passos. First day1st: shot Fabiana's sister on the catwalk run. Pretty close to the beginning, no dice.2nd: failed at the stadium, first time you drop down from sniper and his friend and let Passos sniping. Killed first group, second group post cutscene raped me.3rd: LTS on the cars at the end of 4-1, too much smoke, couldn't see shit. Died.4th: chapter 7 glitch, where enemies doesn't spawn. I thought that pausing the game made it load and unglitched, didn't work this time as it did before. Timed out with 15 minutes.Second day5th: got to chapter 4, the shotgunner upstairs LTS me and couldn't kill him, dead.6th: got LTS on the first 3 enemies of the game. Yes, chapter 1. Failed to save Fabiana up next, she was killed. Seriously? FUCK!Almost fails7.1: chapter 4, LTS on cars at the end, same from 3rd. Paused the game, raised the brightness to max, saw the guy, killed him. Fuck yeah.7.2: Hoboken graveyard, sniping section. Used BT to kill the guys coming from the stairs, sniper got me and took 98% my health, white lining left. Used last painkiller. Waited Passos take his attention, moved up killing guys, got shot to lost 80%. Shot sniper, killed guys without BT, dug my own grave, killed guys pre-morgue without painkillers, got one and used, got another on the morgue and drama was over.7.3: Panama, engine room, no painkillers, 4 guys to kill, lost 95%. Played big part of the level with no painkillers, since the ones I got I used to heal and avoid LTS. Sideway on the boat, guys from the upper ground, scared to shit, went to 5% to 90% lost. Got 2 painkillers on the table and faced the worst part for me, which was the top of the boat after the sideway part. Gotta have died there at least 22 times on NYM, no kidding. Played too safe, used one PK to heal, saved the other one. Better than any of my NYM runs, easier when time is not an issue.7.4 escorting Fabiana's sister through the bus depot, got flanked and shot into LTS, main gun outta ammo, changed to pistol 0.3 sec before LTS. Pulled the trigger for a hs on the flanker, didn't shoot. NOOOOOOOO FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK 3 PAINKILLERS, DIE SON OF A BITCH (me screaming). It worked, headshotted and no BT but still alive.7.5 lost all painkillers due to enemies on the cart not appearing after slowmo sequence. Got shot a lot and had to use all painkillers. More drama from there on, no painkillers up to the shooting range where I got it restored. Then I fucked up at the pre-boss fight, lost all painkillers due to enemies not coming in the way they did on NYM, so I was unprepared. Killed boss shitting myself.That's it, 14 gave me no trouble since I practiced it a lot on NYM since I couldn't beat the time. Had 5 minutes before killing Becker and then about 8 due to totalling the runway (quite easy with BT, seriously). Screamed like a bitch while shooting the plane.
