NullSpace84 Posted January 26, 2020 Share Posted January 26, 2020 So every few months or so, I tend to tumble hard into an addictive VG OST, and this month's ear glue hails from Sonic Forces. I did not expect to like this soundtrack so highly! Modern Sonic suitably rocks, although Ohtani could have wisely curbed the overusage of that buzzy tone, and Classic Sonic sounds period-appropriate; yet it is the Avatar's zone themes which stand out loudest to me, from their DnB-inspired backing beats and the crispness of their pounding synth leads to the pensive lyrics which reflect the voiceless OC's inner musings. I especially dig both Jon Underdown cuts - 2:10~2:31 from the first track could have been ripped straight out of Ape Escape 1, dang - as well as the first tune carried by Madeleine Wood, with its confrontations of anxiety and forceful breakdown halfway through the loop. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There are some outstanding tracks; then there's Mulch, which probably sounds good if you're on acid.
