Popular Post Mipsy
Since this forum lacks a 'gush about Virt' topic (unless @AihaLoveleaf & @Zas brashly start it ourselves), and since this topic overruns with VGM, aka my Favorite Thing, will just dump my gushing into the closest pertinent topic: here. This morning, like last evening, and many an Earth hour, my speakers blast Mighty Switch Force! tracks. Jake Kaufman's likely most hailed for his Shantae or Shovel Knight scores, but IMO, he alchemized his peak musical expertise for MSF!. The man holds a near-coveted understanding of chord progression and percussive transition. I'm only a semi-pro keyboardist myself, yet halfway educated in music theory also, and thus half-flat or half-baked transitions can glare like an audio sunbeam. Not so with this dude. His tunes bounce /and/ he knits them with scary precision. I primarily listen to Japanese VGM, but Jake's my #1 NA musical chef atm. ^.^ Although, I have yet to devour Mark Kelly's Va-11 Hall-a OST, and from hints that I've heard, that could compete, that could compete... Right. Onward, to musics. Love You Love You Love reveals an unreal ear for genre blend and verve, to say nothing of its cuddly name. Starting out with good stuff. Yummy's just delectable in its melody, hence *its* title. :> I listen to a boatload of harder rock - Guilty Gear, Ys, Sonic, Vocaloid, et al. - meaning getting used to minor keys by proxy, yet even so, fast-tempo major keys feel like an oasis, to float along a current of that good stuff. Can package the twin Forces as a combo, and anyway, can't neglect 2's slammin' jams. The Afterblaze (careful, it's uploaded much louder) earns its keep. This dance hall never effin' quits, and *the* moment, 0:13, that bass charges in? Brilliance. Then comes Dalmatian Station, a (comparatively) understated track, yet prob. my fave of 'em all. Sheer joy encapsulated into Kaufman style. Everything from 1:16 onward = to me, peerless. ♪ Give that man his strong due. (Also, turn this one up, it's uploaded quieter, by the same uploader no less. YouTube be kooky.)

Popular Post Mipsy
Starting to grow a little pissed at the ingenuity of existence to sabotage right when we're diligently surmounting roadblocks. Yet, passivity accomplishes nothin'. Fine. Come and get it.

Popular Post SmileSlice
Looking forward to hopefully an Alan Wake sequel soon. Absolutely loved this game as well as Control. I’d also love a port of American Nightmare.

MrGarland
Some might say that the 2nd DLC was disappointingly short (you can speedrun it in 20 min), but I enjoyed it regardless. Secrets to discover, a new weapon, the hub world and of course, this music. It's so relaxing.

Mipsy
HDN always had decent OSTs, but V-II & Cyber Nep elevated the compositional heft of IF's unexpected flagship IP for sure. :] Bouncin' along here~
