themindisacity Posted February 5, 2016 Share Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) I went to Distant Worlds a few years back (I was actually right across the aisle from Nobuo Uematsu! 0_0) and there came a part where he went on stage with Arnie Roth and played Dark World from FFVI. Normally the song is played on keyboard, but Roth switched the main melody to solo violin, and it made such a huge impact. It was already a gorgeous song, but it brought in the whole feeling of hopelessness the song portrays even more. This particular theme has always stuck with me, perhaps because of the unassuming opening, which quickly morphs into a catchy, cathartic riff, so much so that I find myself humming it occasionally.
