Should I play inFAMOUS 2 first?

13 posts in this topic

Just wondering. Perhaps when it comes to the story it's better to play part 2 first...?

Festival of Blood doesn't use any of the plot points in inFAMOUS 2. I personally think you should play the main game first but it's up to you.

Not really. Same city, different story. Infamous 2 is the best Infamous (in my opinion of course), so I suggest playing it first.

On the flip side, no difficulty trophy is required for Festival of Blood 100%, so it would be a cool little tutorial for Infamous 2. :)

Alright, thanks guys. I was thinking of playing this in oktober/halloween, but I'll play infamous 2 first.

I played it in between my good and evil playthroughs. It's a great little side story, loved the bat power.

I'd say do what Magic did.
It'd give you a good mini-break from purely the same inFamous 2, as it's not hard to 100% or a long story anywho.

It's very fitting for halloween however. I played it after I finished 2 as I felt like I should get to know inFamous 2 and its city before delving into the spin-off side story of it.

Play inFAMOUS 2 first. It allows you to get to know the city and some of the lore before delving into FoB. It's a great addition to the game.

I played FoB for an hour or so before playing inFamous 2 a year and a bit later.

Anyway, here's how I went

Festival of Blood

2

Second Son

First Light

1

I played number 1 a long while back but didn't remember a thing, so I don't count that as having been my first.

Anyway, the point is they're all good games and you can really jump in at any point. I played number 2 as I just said, without remembering shit from number 1 and the game was perfectly fine for me, had a little cutscene to fill in the blanks anyways.

Festival is great though, for someone who wants to get a feel of the series, but not dive into a full sized game straight up, of course, so is First Light, which has a platinum as well.

Which reminds me, for the UGC missions in Festival and 2, search for stuff relating to the trophies "easy UGC trophy 1" all the way to 20 or something similarly titled is what I used when I was too lazy to play other people's crappy levels.

inFamous is great, I've no doubt you'll have fun playing whatever you end up choosing, but Festival is entirely independent of 1 and 2 even with the same shared character roster.

It doesn't really matter, but I guess playing inFAMOUS 2 first is the best way, so you are used to the controls.

Without ranting or going into any detail, inFAMOUS 2 then inFAMOUS: FoB.

I played infamous FoB before playing any of the main games first. FoB gives you a nice taste of the inFamous. It made me wanna play to inFamous

It basically serves as inFAMOUS's Halloween special. Mostly irrelevant to the entire series, but it's still very much a game for the inFAMOUS fans considering it's the same characters, so while I would say you should play all the inFAMOUS games, especially 1 before 2 and 2 before Second Son, you can play this at any time you want and not be spoiled to anything huge.

There was one reference to FoB in inFamous2 but it won't ruin your gaming experience either way.
