Persona 4 Arena to be region locked

Recommended Posts

Wow, that is kind of a kick in the nuts. I don't understand how region locking a game would ever be a good thing, what are the benefits?

Consumer - None (unless you are a retard with tutorial).

Company - MONEY.

Example: US will sell Persona 4: Arena for $59.99, while JP has to pay ¥7,329, roughly $92.

Wait, I thought I heard that no PS3 games were region-locked. What is up with this? I was going to possibly import Ice Age 4: Arctic Games, but now I am not so sure.

This game is region locked because the release date between Japan and the states is within a week of each other. The game in Japan is around $90 and the game in the states is going to be $60, so in order to cut down on everyone importing the game in Japan they put a region lock on the game. I guess the real question should be why the Japanese game is so expensive compared to the NA one?

And in Australia it'll be $98AU maybe $78 if JB do their usual... guess I'll probably have to import from the UK. *sigh*

EDIT:

And remember Australia is averaging 1:1 compared to the $US

Wow, that sounds like Japan is getting ripped off. Who would seriously pay $90 for a video game??? (unless it was a collector's edition)
